The food here is fresh and so delicious. There is such an assortment from great rolls, to soups noodles and hibachi! We have had it all and it is super. And let’s not forget about the perfect service!. You must go to this small but culinary delight restaurant!!!
I Usually drink a Sapporo in a bottle every time I go to this place I had asked for a bottle and the lady said okay but brought me the can when I explained that I had asked for a bottle she told me that there was only one size there and the can is the only size that they have
Wow! Not only is the food amazing, but the service was top notch!! The nice ambiance, the table side service and phenomenal drinks! My family and I both adored our server, and his name is Xin. He was personable and professional. He definitely added to the experience. The service on my recent visit was excellent for sure. Decent pricing for what you get. We all agreed the quality of food was spectacular, portions were more and generous, and service was excellent. I'd for sure be back next time and highly recommend this place.
Best hibachi experience I’ve ever had. I’ve tried other places and they do not compare. The servers, chefs and manager are all so wonderful. The food is exceptional and the service takes the experience over the top. Cannot recommend this place enough! They are worth every penny.
Amazing place!! Love it !! Thank you for the great food and service! Be back soon !!
A Wonderful Dining Experience at Izumi Sushi & Hibachi Steakhouse We recently celebrated a special occasion at Izumi Sushi & Hibachi Steakhouse, and it was absolutely perfect! Booking a table for 14 can be a challenge, but the staff made it seamless, arranging for us to dine in one of their private areas. It was intimate, comfortable, and ideal for our gathering. The highlight of the evening was the hibachi experience. With two chefs cooking simultaneously, it was a thrilling performance that had everyone entertained and delighted. The food was cooked to perfection—tender steak, flavorful vegetables, and mouthwatering sushi that showcased the chefs’ incredible skills. Izumi is a fantastic choice for parties and family gatherings. Their hospitality, delicious food, and ability to accommodate large groups make them a standout. I highly recommend this gem and can’t wait to return for another unforgettable evening!
Hibachi was delicious, servers were friendly, and atmosphere welcoming.
My family and I came here for lunch and Seven gave us such a good show! The food was great and Seven had us laughing the whole time.
Amazing food and was safe n clean. Well this is an old review figured I update it with some new ones with the sushi side of the place I had a black dragon roll n California roll with sake 🙃 she had a spicy dragon roll with tri colo Tobiko and steak negamaki and other sushi 🍣 rolls was all delicious highly recommend just tge sushi area as well.
This place has a wonderful decor, the hibachi area is not as fancy but what you expect from that part of the restaurant. The service is excellent, wonderful attention to our needs which was only surpassed by the food! This was clean and light, the oil and butter are used with a minimalist style, as well as the soy and teriyaki which allowed the natural flavors to stand out. This is a wonderful place and a great find, especially during the restrictions of the pandemic.
It was great. The showmanship of the hibachi was awesome. The food was great everything was clean.
I ate here with family many times at hibachi table and regular table. Service and food is always excellent. Never had a problem.
The food is consistently fresh, clean, and delicious, and the service is always top-notch. I’ve been a loyal customer for years, and this will forever be the best sushi place in town. Thank you for always delivering excellence!!!🍣❤️
Thank the restaurant Gods for Izumi. Unfortunately, Guest House Bar and Bistro was closed for the reservation we had with them for 12 without notice. A few doors down Izumi was was able to accommodate our group on short notice. The food and service was amazing. The chef we had was very accommodating. I didn't want mushrooms in the Hibachi vegetables and he picked them out with his spatula. We really lucked out. Thank you Izumi!!!
Came here with the homie G for some sushi after work. Gotta say, this place has always hit for us! We got the chicken tempura roll, the cucumber roll, and the volcano roll. My friend made me try the volcano roll against my will (they impaled me with a chopstick) but it was actually very good! It's actually our birthday bash zone for right now, since our grandparents won't go anywhere else with us ): We go here fairly often! Despite the other reviews, we haven't ever had a problem with staff. They're all nice and don't bother you too much when you're eating, which is a super plus because I hate trying to speak when I'm shoving food in my mouth like a peasant that hasn't seen bread in 10 years. So yeah, 10 outta 10! Yummy food, cool atmosphere, good people. Also the bar is LOADED just like I'm aboutta be. Cheers! 🍻
The place is really big and and they don't seem to utilize the space as optimally as you would think.. The service was very good. The servers were all very nice and attentive enough. The food quality was very good. I often order for delivery from this place also. Overall I feel the food quality is very good which is very important when you're ordering sushi and sashimi, raw fish! Lol. They have some creative dishes and presentations Of their sushi and sashimi as well pictured on the menu. The hibachi It's very good quality food and although we didn't sit at the hibachi table that time we heard the antics and it seemed like a lot of fun over there. Lol
The restaurant is amazing--clean, great ambiance and lighting is soothing. The staff is courteous and attentive. The scenery is beautiful. The food is delicious. I would suggest ordering immediately because it takes a little while. The alcoholic drinks are wonderful. I had the pomegranate flirtini and the lychee martini (different name on menu). I was too full to get dessert so maybe next time.
In my opinion, one of the best Sushi and Hibachi restaurants in East Meadow. Loads of parking, great food, seating is comfortable, wheelchair and handicap accessible. Wonderful interior ambience, and ontop of this the staff is very friendly. I've never had a negative experience here, always gone above and beyond!
I was surprisingly amazed at the quality of the sushi here. A lot of time and effort went into each one of the appetizer dishes that we ordered. A very unique set of appetizers which was refreshing. The staff here was beyond helpful and friendly. It was a great dining experience and I would definitely go back again to try more things on the menu as well as the habachi. The place was pretty lively even during these pandemic times which made the experience even more pleasant.
This is a very good hibachi restaurant and they have an extensive sushi menu.
The food was good and well prepared. I found the food overpriced, but the quality was great, with portions that should have been bigger. The chef did a good job in preparing the food and entertaining us. I do wish that they offered refills on the soft drinks. They also attempted to upsell us on drinks, which I found kind of weird, considering there were no refills. I felt a bit rushed but overall the atmosphere and the service was very good. I went at a slow time so obviously the attentiveness could have been because there was plenty of empty spaces and plenty of free time for the staff, which was appreciated. I would recommend this to anyone who enjoys hibachi or Japanese food altogether. Great decor excellent atmosphere, would go again.
The food was excellent, however they didn't have the correct time for our reservation (despite us calling to confirm) and refused to seat us until our whole party was there. That said our chef and waitress were excellent
Food 4/5 the sauce for the hibachi is on the sweet side, maybe because I don’t have sweet teeth? but not bad overall. Service 3.5/5 the hibachi chef was amazing! Very energetic and fun, kept us entertained and good with kid, though the service is pretty slow. Went in around 3pm on a Sunday, got seated and served water quickly but that was all. Needed to wave down for service but the staff were def nice. I’d give chef 5/5 and the servers 3.5/5 for nice but slow service. Ambiance - very spacious. Overall, I’d give 4/5.
Great food, the areas are private enough and just enough room. It's not a massive hibachi area but you don't feel cramped. The chefs are all good, some more entertaining and skilled than others but haven't run into a bad one yet in my 6+ visits.
The atmosphere here is really nice. Although I haven’t eaten in yet, I did take a look at the menu. I noticed there weren’t many pictures to help with my decision, which made it a bit challenging. I was hoping for a combination set to make choosing easier and reduce my decision-making anxiety. The service at the counter was professional, but they didn’t offer much help in choosing what to order. The prices made me hesitant to decide quickly. If there were pictures of the dishes and reviews from other customers, I would feel more confident about the prices. I ordered a spicy tuna roll and a salmon roll for $14, but it didn’t include extra rice, soup, or salad, which was a bit disappointing. They do have a lunch special, but unfortunately, I missed the window for that.
Have enjoyed eating and doing take out. Food has been consistently good. Quality is good. Place is busy and the management is not well organized. The waiting area is a bit sparse, but there is a bar. A bit noisy but nice. Like the private 🏬 ning areas for small parties. Enjoy.
I passed by Izumi Sushi Restaurant while I was in Levittown. The lighting and the huge oversized buddha sitting in the front door caught my attention. The inside has a cool look almost like a neon bowling alley. Service was very good and attentive. They serve bok choy my favorite and all was good running in for a quick bite!
My husband has been wanting Sushi so we ordered take out last night. Our order was ready in under 20 mins. I ordered the Pineapple Seafood fried rice which came with a Miso soup and a small salad. My husband ordered the Mango shrimp appetizer, a California roll, a rainbow roll, an out of control roll and a tuna avocado roll. Everything was very good, made fresh. The fried rice had less seafood in it then I expected (it has sprimp, scallops and white fish which I asked to hold the white fish) but there was very little scallops, it was still very tasty.
A Giant Buddha welcomes you where they serve up delicious Sushi and Hibachi-- The place is sprawling with a decent size bar (Girl... The cocktails are killers♡♡♡), spacious booths in the front of the restaurant and a HUGE area for Hibachi! I opted for the calamari and shrimp. The chef did his thing while cooking up the fare/meal.
4 stars for food but 2 stars for service. The food and drinks were delicious, ambiance excellent but waiters nowhere to be found. We ordered the spicy girl roll which was out of this world- would go back just for that roll! Drinks were very well made...the kind that creeps up on you afterwards. I had the nabeyaki udon- very flavorful, ample amount of chicken and seafood, the broth was flavorful but could’ve used a little bit more salt and seasoning. Friend ordered the garlic basil filet mignon which was delicious, well cooked and seasoned well. The onions and peppers were essential in that dish. Definitely going back for the spicy girl roll and other items off the menu
I been coming to thia restaurant for over a year now. The show is nice, the cheffs are always supper friendly and make you enjoy your time there. This was the only time I arrived late, but they still serve food . There were a couple of tables finishing their meal still. I got a chicken tempura, and the chicken was tasteless and only 2 atrips and the rest fried buggies, all buggies was raw but like ver very raw 😕. This was the first time in there where the playe was undercooked. . The show was good. The cheff was nice . The hibachi was ok. Not thrilled like my last visit 3 months ago but maybe was because it was late. Would I come back ? Probably not at least not in a while. For now I would go to my old place in wantagh
This is exactly the kind of food everyone loves. Only reason I give it a four star rating is because I wish they offered a selection of more authentic Japanese food. This is a Japanese chain on the rise on long island with 3 separate locations. The atmosphere is calming and relaxing. The wait staff is friendly and fast. I absolutely recommend the fried tofu to start. This dish is slept on hard, the fried tofu is better then any mozzarella stick Iv had. The elegant plating makes the food much more tasty somehow...it's funny how that actually works.
First off, this is our local favorite. The food is creative and delicious! However, on our recent visit we were shocked with how unpleasant the service was. Our waitress didn't seem to understand English at all, so several of our food requests were done wrong and we ended up overcharged as a result for an item also. We didn't try to get our money back and just sucked it up, but we did let a different waitress that was also coming over, know the situation. When we were later ordering desert, she was incredibly rude and condescending. It was as if she was mocking us and asking if we are sure there is nothing in our desert order we can't eat or don't want - her tone was obviously unfriendly. We loved the food but were all very much shocked with the service.
Server forgot to put in the birthday girls dinner and was last to eat when everyone finished. They never apologized or tried to make it right. Food was ok prices reasonable. Went there several times but this was bad never going back. We eat at a table not hibachi so not sure about that
The food was good. The portion were fine. I don't know if it was because they were busy (it was on father's day), or the dude was having an off night, but our hibachi chef almost dropped his cooking-fork on my son when he was doing his tricks, and after that it felt like the dude just lost his energy which soured the experience a little. The Atmosphere was nice enough. We did feel a little rushed, though. But overall, ok positive experience.
Sushi, apps and drinks were SPECTACULAR. The hibachi thoooo...everything is DOUSED in teriyaki. Like drowning in it. So you don’t get the natural flavors of the meats and veggies. Just sticky sweet teriyaki. They Americanized the hibachi experience. Very disappointed. Stick with soy, garlic and salt and pepper. That’s all it needs.
First visit was great but my second visit was terrible. Hosted a hibachi birthday party there. They don't seat you until the entire group arrives. They rushed us into ordering. Then the hibachi chef barely put on a show and seemed like he hated his job. I had a kid with me and he didn't bother offering a balloon when the opposite table with a different chef made three different balloon animals for a table full of adults. The waitress asked us how many to go boxes we wanted immediately after the chef left when we just got all the food on our plates. It was not subtle they just want you in and out. It was not an enjoyable experience and likely will not be going back.
Overall it's a nice restaurant in a strip mall but the service lets you know it's business...we don't care about anything else. The hibachi was good but the rolls tasted odd ( I've never had a Philadelphia roll with cucumber...throws off the taste). Overall a 6.5 or 7.
Dont have the sushi, stick with hibachi. If I wanted cucumber I'd go to the supermarket. The Boston roll was supposed to be shrimp, lettuce, cucumber, mayo - not a traditional Boston roll with salmon and cream cheese. The wasabi was crumbly and tasteless. The rolls were falling apart and had about 2 grams of shrimp. Check out the pic. Seriously, stick to the hibachi. The rest of family loved the hibachi and the portions were large that most went home with leftovers. A little pricey and DONT TIP your chef, they put the gratuity on the bill.
I was there today 6 30 pm. Now why 2 stars? First i want to say the food we got was 4.5 stars. But the restaraunt was 64 degrees it was cold i had to wear my coat. The prices are very hight for what we got .appetizers were perfect but i added a picture the 5 pc meat rool was great and fresh and the friend calamari was perfect then we ordered the $21.95 shrimp with scallops and $22.95 steak and shrimp($1 more for fried rice) . again food was delicious but service was bad waited 36 min for our main entree to arrive and it seems it was sitting for a while because it was not hot. ( they took drinks off due to wait time) also place was very very loud didnt know if it was a club/bar or restaurant. Also portions are very very small for the price i paid. 4 shrimp 4 scallops and steak was 4 slices very small. Would like to try again but might wait duebto this place being new. But again food was great
Went for hibachi. Right after finishing the meal my stomach didn't feel well. After I got home about 2 hours later I had stomachache and diarrhea. I had the scallops. Given that I was the only one who ate scallops with stomachache and diarrhea after eating there, I believe it was the scallops that made me sick. We all had the same fried rice, veggie from hibachi. We went to celebrate my son's birthday there and he had a great time. As we ate, we all said the food was way too salty...to a point it was not pleasant. You can taste a lot of msg as well. My husband's steak was well done when though he asked for medium. Overall the hibachi experience was good, but the food was not.
Since my first plate they bring me the check. I was with friends and we consume, it's not like we just had a coke or water. They ask, minimum, 8 times if we were ready to pay. The food is not fantastic and I decide to go because my friend gave me good references. Not for me and I never gonna go back.
Food is good but an hour before closing they start cleaning and mopping floors spraying cleaning product everywhere. It was like dining inside a bucket of cleaning solution. We had to leave early and take the rest to go. Horrible experience.
The food here was great despite the rice being cold. The only problem I had with this place was that as I was walking out of the restaurant, some lady (who wasn’t even our server or waiter) chased me and my family out of the restaurant and asked about how we thought the service was because we gave a $5 tip. Why are you chasing me out of the restaurant asking about the tip? And she kept asking and pressuring me about changing the tip amount. Why? Giving a tip isn’t mandatory! Mind you, I gave a $5 tip because our server only came to us 3-4 times. He didn’t even bring our food out, someone else did and he only asked if we were okay 1 time.
Previously 5 stars. Recently the quality has diminished. Went for lunch and the food was the least tasty it has been. In addition, I got charged for a kids orange juice- half ice for 4.50. We got a refill so it came out to 9 dollars. When I pointed out that it was in a kids cup, the waitress said adult and kid cups are the same price and said “I just work here.” It seems like Izumi is not the quality it used to be, and sadly won’t be our go-to hibachi spot anymore.
This place was average. I've been to plenty of Hibachi restaurants, and this one was nothing great. The food was ok. Usually, you get soup and salad at every Hibachi place I've been to. At this place, it's either one or the other. Our server was MIA. We always had to send out a search party for her. The cook worked so fast that we felt he needed to hurry up and leave. I expected better.
Chefs are great and very entertaining. They changed the habatchi to either soup or salad instead of both along with meal. Fried rice was a little hard. Otherwise had a great meal-good quality meat, shrimp and lobster. Could be a bit more flavor. update: We had a 5:30 reservation for 8/16 We were VERY disappointed. The steak was way overcooked and burnt. My lobster was overcooked and also burnt. The chef really didn’t care about his cooking. He wasn’t very entertaining either. I would have said something about the poor cooking of the food but we went with a couple whom we just met for the first time who came from upstate. We were embarrassed because we raved about this place and the other couple said their steak was burnt also. Again, like last time the food lacked flavor and salt. I will not be returning here. Especially for the price paid.
Low quality service, our party was over 6 people, so we got automatic gratuity placed in our bill 18%, which is ok when the server is nice. Lin was not nice, attentive, or frankly cared to do a good job as the tip was mandatory. We had to look for her to get our rice ten minutes later. The place was not busy her attitude was not cordial at all. She went on break and never told us she had just stopped coming to the table. When we asked for them to call her, we were told she was on break. Who leaves for lunch without putting a replacement in for your tables. Guy, that got us check had attitude also was busy with his own tables Bad experience food was ok, but the service was horrible. The price was ok, but the portions are small.
Was recommended to try this place by a friend and was very disappointed. Lackluster complimentary salad & dressing. Ordered Kani salad as an appetizer as well and only tasted stale cucumber. Huge disappointment and waste of $8 Then our sushi… no flavor whatsoever (special & standard rolls alike). Felt like we consumed a large chunk of fish-scented tofu. Also, don’t expect chopsticks because our order didn’t include them. We did order a side of noodles for $4.50 which was the best part of our meal. A true let down & wont order again. Bryan B. (Doordash customer)
The food was delicious as I always love some hibachi. The cook, however, was very bland and seemed like he was rushing the food and was agitated by the kids. My daughter had a birthday party with her friends and the cook did not reach our expectations. The tricks weren't enthusiastic, rather seemed mandatory. I wish the experience was better because the food was great.
The food was okay, but the overall experience felt rushed. They try to get you in and out as quickly as possible, which really takes away from enjoying the meal. I don’t like being rushed when I’m out trying to relax and have a nice dinner. Also, be very careful with your bill — they were overcharging me the last time I went. Thankfully, I caught it, but always double-check your receipt. For the price they charge, the service and atmosphere should be better.
Been going to Izumi since they open. Today my grandson who loves coming to this resturant found a long hair tangle in is noddles. The waitress replace the dish. Workers in resturants should be wearing a net in their head.
My wife and I booked a private room at Izumi Levittown in May for a 3pm Saturday afternoon communion party of approximately 35 people. We left a $100 deposit for the room and were given an approximate price for the lunch special package. We were told by the restaurant to be there promptly at 3pm as we only had the room for 2 hours and there was likely going to be a party booked after ours. After arriving on time, we were told that we would have to wait for an unspecified amount of time as the party before us was running late. We were made to wait with our 30+ guests for over 40 minutes in the front of the restaurant which was embarrassing to say the least. Additionally, communication was terrible and we were only told that the other party was “still taking pictures”. When we were finally seated, we were told that we would be ordering from the dinner menu as the “lunch special” ended at 2:45. The dinner price was nearly double. When we told the manager we had booked the party with the lunch special she stated that she doesn’t know why anyone would have booked our party with the lunch special and all but out right called us liars. Additionally, she was extremely rude, unprofessional and unwilling to make any sort of exception or compromise despite the fact that our party had already been delayed for 40+ minutes. We were unfortunately stuck in the bad situation and ended up paying the dinner price for the party. The food was on par with our previous experiences at Izumi, but I would highly recommend staying away from Izumi for large groups and pre-booked parties as they are clearly unreliable, un reputable, and unwilling to make any sort of compromise or attempt to fix a situation that was their fault. I’ll conclude with the fact that I have never left a poor google or yelp review that I can remember but that this experience with Izumi management was so terrible and embarrassing I feel the need to do so.
Absolutely astounded this “business” has more than 0 stars. Worst dining experience i’ve have had in quite some time. Server was awful, rushed us from start to finish. Hibachi “chef” outright rude and food terrible. His name was “Jeff” but I have a sneaking suspicion it isn’t his birth name. AVOID at all costs, this establishment does not deserve your hard-earned money.
Wanted to give this place a chance and my whole group got sick eating here. I had sushi and chicken teriyaki. Service is ok. Felt rushed tbh. We were in and out within a half hour even though we had soup and appetizers to start. Reminds me of Sizzlers from back in the day
BEWARE!!!! I am truly upset at the way I was treated at this establishment. I have been eating here regularly since it opened years ago. I recently was there for dinner and unfortunately had a large piece of steel wool on my shrimp. Luckily I felt it in my mouth and was able to remove it before swallowing, honestly at first I was just glad it wasn’t a hair. I returned since it is a convenient location for lunch. This time I had a large piece of a glass like substance in my sushi, almost cracking my tooth as I bit down on it. I spit out my food and placed it aside and showed my waitress. This is where things became evident to me I would never return. The waitress took my plate and then the manager came over and said that it was the crunchy in my crunchy tuna roll. I said no, it was a piece of glass or something just as hard. They kept arguing with me and my friend with me witnessed this piece of glass like thing on my plate after I spit it out. Extremely rude, condescending and unprofessional service. I have never experienced such horrible low class behavior before in my life. I will be contacting corporate as well about this. I would have taken photos, but I never thought this would escalate to such an absurd situation on behalf of the staff at this location. Truly horrible.
Today On 8/28/25 during a business trip in Hempstead NY a co-worker and I decided to go have a late lunch and Tik Tok stated it was a good restaurant. They sat us at the Hibachi 15 minutes later our waitress introduced herself and took out drinks and appetizers. After 20… after 30…..after 45 mins…..a party of 4 Adults and 2 children sat beside us. My party was of 2 people! within 2 mins they received their drinks ,appetizers and salads. 50 mins… later we did have a Hibachi chef. But within 15 mins the party aside us received their Hibachi chef.my party of 2 remained with empty soup bowls.Clearly 6 per person x 40 equals $240 verses 2 per person equals $80.you do the math! When We address the hostess 15 mins and said the above she went to the kitchen had 2 spoons of rice returned to our table and stated our ticket was lost. Our copy of ticket was placed on our hibachi table. Clearly This was a cost issue therefore we decided to leave. We paid our ticket of $27.16 indicating it was poor customer service. Just an fyi Both parties in my lunch appointment were diabetic.we ended up in a fast food drive thru heading to Manhattan NY with unhealthy food. UNACCEPTABLE 😡
Rude hostess - We won't be going back! We were "greeted" by the hostess when we arrived and asked for a table for four. The hostess responded with a demand - we must eat and leave in 45 minutes and she waited for us to confirm if we would comply before she sat us. It was shocking, we've never been greeted that way before and we have been there many times. Plus the restaurant was half empty that night, there was no wait time and there wasn't a line of people trying to be seated... so the demand seemed quite odd. We asked if there was a problem. The hostess repeated herself and just stared at us. It was very uncomfortable so we immediately left. We entered with smiles and left with confusion. Her attitude was not warranted. I would rather spend my money where we are welcomed.
I Ordered a $150+ sushi platter for pickup and asked for a couple spicy mayo cups on the side. I was told it would be $1 per cup—no exceptions. I mentioned that after spending over $150, a small courtesy would go a long way. The response: “It doesn’t matter how much you spend; we have to charge you.” When I pressed if that’s really how they want guests to feel, I was told, “I don’t care.” The food itself was decent, but that interaction overshadowed the meal. A good restaurant stands by its policies and shows judgment—especially on small items that shape the guest experience. Charging for every tiny extra while dismissing a reasonable request felt unwelcoming and transactional. Constructive idea: keep the policy, but allow a courtesy sauce or two on large orders, and coach staff to de-escalate with empathy. There are plenty of places nearby that value repeat customers—I’ll choose one of those next time.
