Opinions de L'Atelier de Joël Robuchon New York
L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon once again proves why it stands at the very top of fine dining in Miami. We experienced the Menu d’Hiver, and it was an extraordinary journey from start to finish. The opening foie gras royale—silky and deeply flavorful, lifted by parmesan foam and the subtle sweetness of Maury “Vieilles Vignes”—set the tone immediately. Among the first courses, the marinated hamachi stood out for its purity and balance, with toasted almond emulsion and bright winter citrus, while the sunchoke tart offered beautiful earthiness and precision. For the second course, the crispy veal sweetbread was exceptional—perfectly textured, layered with Szechuan pepper, cashew, and pickled vegetables—while the Norwegian langoustine delivered elegance and depth with puffed rice, cognac velouté, and fennel-apple purée. The main courses were truly memorable. The Dover sole, paired with a stuffed squash blossom and tomato-infused beurre blanc, was classic Robuchon finesse at its finest. The bison in laminated pastry was rich yet restrained, impeccably cooked, and deeply satisfying, while the venison saddle with foie gras was bold, luxurious, and flawlessly executed. Dessert closed the experience beautifully. The apple caramel spiral was delicate and aromatic, enhanced by thyme bavarois, while the Guanaja chocolate sensation delivered pure indulgence with remarkable balance. Service was impeccable—knowledgeable, warm, and perfectly paced, and the counter seating allowed us to fully appreciate the choreography and craftsmanship of the kitchen. An unforgettable winter menu and a masterclass in modern French gastronomy
Went for lunch and opted for the Evolution prix-fixe menu with upgrades, and it was an exceptional experience from start to finish. The standout for me was the hamachi with caviar upgrade — absolutely spectacular and easily one of my favorite bites of the entire meal. Elegant, balanced, and indulgent without being heavy. The wagyu beef was excellent, though by the time it arrived I was already quite full after adding an additional appetizer. Even so, it was beautifully prepared and met the standard one expects here. I tried the langoustine, which was perfectly executed with a delicate tempura-style breading — light, crisp, and refined, very much in line with top-tier Japanese technique. I don’t usually gravitate toward fried dishes, but this was flawless. Service truly elevated the experience. Oriana, my server, struck the perfect balance between polished professionalism and warm, engaging conversation. She was attentive not just to me but to her other clients, knowledgeable about menu changes, and thoughtful in her upselling — subtle, informed, and never pushy. She also shared insight into the Design District, mentioned that lunch service would extend into Sunday, and gave a helpful sense of when the winter menu would transition into spring. The dishes were curated with precision and artistry, exactly what one expects from a Michelin-rated restaurant. Dessert arrived when I was already full, but the tart apple paired with caramel was too well-composed not to taste — refined and restrained rather than overly sweet. The atmosphere is elegant yet welcoming, the staff elite and genuinely hospitable, and the location in the Miami Design District is beautiful. It was also refreshing to hear that the clientele isn’t just tourists — many locals frequent this restaurant, and it’s easy to understand why. A true treat and a standout lunch experience. I’ll absolutely return.
My husband and I came here to celebrate an early anniversary. We sat upstairs at the bar, and from the minute we sat down it was a top-tier experience. The food was exquisite. So much attention to the finest details. We enjoyed watching the food prep in the kitchen from our seats. Everything from the bread and butter to the desserts were beyond our expectations. They even surprised us with a lovely anniversary dessert. Can’t say enough wonderful things about this dining experience, we will be back.
Perfect service down to minute details. Huge team involved and willing to take care of any requests at any time. Everything cooked to the exact right texture. Each dish has a variety of contrasting flavors and textures that all balance well against each other. Very calm atmosphere with decor that let's your eyes relax and enjoy the teams movements and interactions. All of my expectations were exceded and the cost seemed reasonable at the end. They deserve their stars. I hope to return soon.
One of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Miami, if not the best. From the quality of the food to the menu selection and overall service, everything was outstanding. At this restaurant, I would actually recommend sitting at the bar rather than at a regular table, as it truly enhances the overall experience. A special mention to the Italian gentleman who took care of us, his service was exceptional and among the best I’ve had. Highly recommended.
This was one of the best meals I've ever had. I dined at the counter. The staff was incredibly warm, inviting, funny, & knowledgeable. Service was a 10/10. The food was incredible. I've only eaten at a dozen or so of Michelin restaurants - the was at the higher end of my experiences to date. I will say it was very expensive, I think after everything my bill was ~$500 - but I regret nothing. It featured probably the best duck I've ever had, a lot of interesting pairings of flavours and textures of which I've never imagined, and definitely the best white fish I've ever had. And then, cause they knew I loved food they gave me a your of the kitchen I will definitely go back - probably a la carte, before I leave Miami.
Superb combination of food, service & vibe. Food is surprising in its exploration of taste, color & texture. This is what elevated cuisine should be. Service is exceptional without being intrusive. Recommend sitting upstairs at the chef’s counter where the chefs preparing everything is a dance worth watching. Wine pairings were spot on. A beautiful soothing space enhances the experience. Deserving of its two Michelin stars.
From the first step inside you feel the great atmosphere there! I went for my anniversary with my girlfriend and it was an outstanding experience! Alexis G was more than outstanding with her service, kindness and knowledge of their food! (We let her pick out our courses) And her picks did not disappoint! Every meal from the starter bread to the sweet dessert was outstanding and the meats “The Bison” was amazing! We had a variety and everything was cooked top tier, I also had the pleasure to meet Chef James which was amazing that I got to meet who was behind the amazing feel and taste of the food! It was a 10/10 experience if I could give it 6 stars I would. 100% recommend!
From the moment you walk through the door, you’re wrapped in warmth. The space feels alive surrounded by beautiful details that instantly put you at ease. The service doesn’t just meet expectations, it exceeds them in the most thoughtful, genuine way. And then the food arrives… absolutely unreal. Every bite felt intentional, elevated, and unforgettable. I genuinely cried because I couldn’t believe something could taste that good. One of those rare places that turns a meal into a full-body experience.
Situated in the heart of Miami’s Design District, L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon offers a luxurious French dining experience very much in line with Robuchon’s other flagship restaurants in Paris, Tokyo, and Las Vegas. Like the other Ateliers, the space features a sleek, modern interior accented with red lacquer, polished rosewood countertops, and warm, radiant lighting. The iconic wrap-around counter faces an open kitchen, giving guests a front-row view as the chefs work their culinary magic. As expected, the food is exceptional from start to finish, with each dish worthy of the Robuchon legacy: beautifully presented, richly flavored and perfectly balanced. The tasting menu flows seamlessly, and the famous mashed potatoes are every bit as silky and buttery as those served at Ateliers around the world. Service is polished, efficient, and well-paced, making for a smooth 1.5-hour experience. As of this writing, L’Atelier remains Miami’s only two-Michelin-starred restaurant. Tasting menu prices are in line with other locations (around $300 per person), and the restaurant participates in the inKind network, which helps offset some of the cost. An absolute must-visit for the epicurean traveler seeking a luxurious and elevated French dining experience.
L’Atelier Miami delivers a level of refinement that is rare even among Michelin-starred restaurants. The kitchen executes French technique with absolute precision—sauces are silky and deeply flavored, proteins are cooked with perfect control, and every plate shows the discipline and elegance that define Robuchon’s legacy. The tasting menu moves with balance and clarity. Dishes are portioned thoughtfully, and the flavors evolve naturally from delicate to rich without ever feeling heavy. The signature purée and the seasonal seafood courses were standouts, both showcasing the kitchen’s ability to elevate simple ingredients into something memorable. The dining room, built around the open kitchen, creates a dynamic atmosphere where the chefs’ movements become part of the experience. Service is exceptional—attentive, genuine, and knowledgeable, with a level of polish that enhances the meal without interrupting it. This is one of Miami’s most refined fine-dining destinations, combining impeccable technique with warm hospitality. A well-deserved five stars.
A Gastronomical and a plating art experience . L’atelier is and remains a very special destination for the person looking for a special one of a kind culinary escapade .Yes it is pricy but if you go there with an open mind and if you are looking for a special experience this is the place for you and your partner . Every step of the experience is special .the service is attentive and well planned. The bread basket is very pleasant . The plates are served on time and reflect a special attention to taste and presentation. If you are expecting big portions and a value in the size of the meal this is not for you. This meal is a culinary experience and indeed if you avoid ordering a full bottle of wine and enjoy only a cocktail or one glass of a special wine the pricing of this special meal is justifiable. The Vegas location tends to be to have a more of a pleasant atmosphere and the service is more attentive. Even if we had to cope with a billing mistake as we were charged for a full bottle of cider instead for a glass .the manager was very hands on and corrected the mistake . I still strongly feel that this outfit is unique and even if people might find small flaws or might dislike and overlook some issues it still deserve its Michelin status . I would not recommend it for your everyday dining but certainly it is good to know that for a super special occasion Miami has l’attelier to offer and very few other cities do .
Dining at L’Atelier is truly an experience of its own — and it’s easy to see why it’s the only two Michelin-starred restaurant in Miami. From start to finish, everything embodies perfection: the atmosphere, the precision of service, and above all, the exquisite food. Each dish is a masterpiece of flavor and presentation. The ingredients are of the highest quality, prepared with impeccable technique and an artistic touch. Every bite feels carefully orchestrated to deliver balance, depth, and pure delight. My absolute favorites were the Langoustine, delicate and perfectly executed; the Kampachi, fresh and bursting with flavor; the Wagyu, beautifully tender; and the Bison, an unforgettable combination of rich flavors and elegant textures. Each dish showcases the restaurant’s ability to turn fine dining into a sensory journey. The service deserves equal praise — attentive, warm, and deeply knowledgeable. The staff makes you feel like a welcomed guest, not just a diner. If you enjoy more interaction and a view of the artistry behind the dishes, the counter seating is perfect. For a more intimate and private experience, especially for dates or special occasions, the high tables are a wonderful choice. If you’re seeking culinary excellence in Miami, LJR is simply unmatched — an extraordinary dining experience worth every bite, and unforgettable from start to finish.
⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Outstanding Experience from Start to Finish! Dining at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami was an absolute delight. The food was exceptional — every course beautifully crafted with incredible attention to detail and flavor. You can truly taste the passion and precision behind the cuisine. What made the evening even more special was the impeccable service. The entire staff was attentive, professional, and incredibly welcoming. Their recommendations were spot on, and they made sure everything was perfect without ever being intrusive. A flawless combination of world-class dining and top-tier hospitality. Highly recommended, and I can’t wait to return!
Had an incredible dinner at L’Atelier Joël Robuchon Miami! The staff were so friendly and attentive, really made the night special. Every dish was amazing — full of flavor and beautifully done — and the wine pairings were perfect. Easily one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in Miami!
From the moment you walk into L’Atelier, you are warmly welcomed by the kindest, and most professional staff. The manager, Sofija Damnjanovic, is absolutely amazing, friendly, attentive, and truly caring. The restaurant itself is stunning, with an intimate ambience that makes the entire experience feel special. The service is outstanding! We were taken care of by Manuel, who went above and beyond to ensure every detail at our table was perfect. And the food… absolutely incredible. Every dish is a true work of art. The presentation, the flavors, the creativity. Everything blends together in a way that is simply mind-blowing. It’s no wonder this is a two-star restaurant. I’ve been fortunate to dine here twice with my husband, and on our second visit we brought a dear friend to surprise them with the experience. Both evenings were unforgettable. A highlight was meeting the executive sous-chef, Tycho van Mierlo. Not only is he a culinary genius, but also down-to-earth and passionate. He came to our table to explain some of the dishes, and you could feel his artistry and dedication in every word. From start to finish, L’Atelier delivers nothing short of excellence. You are treated with warmth, professionalism, and top-notch service every step of the way. It’s truly crème de la crème—an absolute must-visit for anyone who appreciates fine dining and unforgettable experiences 🤩
This was one of the most lovely experiences of dining at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami, FL. A 2-Michelin-Star Gastronomic Temple. From very artistic plates, to very detailed and decored presentation. More than a dinner meal, a masterpiece of different flavors; from the Foie Gras, to the Tuna with black pepper, to the Chicken with truffle; perfectly balanced to melt in your mouth perfection. Not to mention the different delicious desserts tried. The staff was attentive without being intrusive, and the sommelier’s wine pairings elevated every course. The cocktails just right on point and very flavorfull. The setting was refined but welcoming, with just the right lighting and music for a relaxed fine-dining experience. If you’re looking for a true culinary experience, this gastronomic temple is a must – definitely five stars without hesitation.
I recently had my first dinner at L’Atelier in the Design District, and it was an incredible experience. We sat at the chef’s counter, which made the evening even more special. The ambience was elegant yet inviting, with a beautiful interior and an overall warm atmosphere. Orianna’s service was outstanding, attentive and professional throughout the night. We decided to go all in and chose the tasting menu, which was the perfect way to experience everything the restaurant has to offer. Each dish was presented like a work of art and tasted just as impressive. Watching the kitchen team in action was truly fascinating, they worked with such precision and composure that the entire process looked effortless. Everything about the evening felt seamless. With its combination of world class food, flawless service, and a welcoming atmosphere, L’Atelier is an ideal spot for a date night. It’s easy to see why they’ve earned a Michelin star.
An unforgettable dining experience at L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon in Miami. We did the Evolution menu and were blown away by the creativity, flavor, and precision in every course. The food was both exquisite and unique—each dish a true work of art. We enjoyed a few cocktails, including a perfectly crafted old fashion, and every drink matched the elegance of the meal. The service is truly unmatched. The staff knew every ingredient and every step of the preparation process, and their attention to detail elevated the entire experience. The atmosphere is polished, refined, and ideal for a special night out. The two Michelin stars are absolutely well deserved. Highly recommend for a date night or any occasion where you want to be wowed from start to finish.
As part of my ongoing tour of Michelin-starred restaurants in Miami, I finally made it to L’Atelier de Joël Robuchon Miami—and it delivered. The only restaurant in Florida with two Michelin stars, it landed firmly in my top three. Of all the Michelin dining I’ve done in Miami, this was the most refined—a confident, sexy expression of high-end French cuisine. We opted for the 9-course chef’s tasting menu, beautifully paced and thoughtfully composed, striking that rare balance between restraint and indulgence. True to Chef Joël Robuchon’s philosophy, the focus is on elevating simple ingredients through pristine sourcing and immaculate technique. The name L’Atelier—“workshop”—is literal: every seat lines a sleek counter facing the open kitchen, turning dinner into live culinary theater. The room glows in a deep red hue, intimate and intentional. Service was effortless and precise, punctuated by a steady chorus of “Oui, chef” from the kitchen as dishes were fired—quiet confidence, fully on display. Standouts: ✨ Olive oil–poached halibut with salsify, vanilla & fennel oil ✨ Mishima Reserve striploin with braised carrot & béarnaise (upgraded, naturally, to Japanese A5 Wagyu) ✨ The classic chocolate soufflé—absolute perfection And a special shout-out to the buttermilk-marinated frog legs. I was hesitant, but they slid right off the bone like chicken lollipops and completely won me over. Elegant, disciplined, and deeply immersive—L’Atelier’s counter seating, crimson glow, and precision-driven cuisine make it a destination worth seeking out in one of the country’s most alluring food cities. 🍷✨. @latelier_robuchon_miami #TwoMichelinStars #MichelinGuide #HauteCuisine #LAtelierRobuchon #MiamiMichelin #RefinedDining #MichelinTour #BathboyEats
We were so excited to enjoy this experience, traveling cross country and this experience was supposed to be the highlight of our trip. Have to say I was disappointed, we really look forward to the Michelin stars restaurants. Sadly our service was just not there, food was good, but I wished we had another person as our head server, not very friendly, too straight forward, not helpful at all when it came to helping explaining some of the dishes as I was struggling to decide which menu and items to order. When ordering he seemed slightly annoyed and just waiting to make the decisions on the spot with no help at all. I felt rushed and scrambling to decide on the spot, just wasn't the ideal start to our dinner, All other service members were very friendly. I expected more from a 2 Michelin star, definitely a 1 star experience but not 2. Having dined at the French laundry and other amazing restaurants this was sadly not our best experience.
I wanted to treat my hubby for his big birthday, so a two star Michelin Miami restaurant was quite a splurge! The restaurant is tucked away off the street with different types of seating available. All the seating choices inside, outside or bar area are so pretty or cool, so you can’t go wrong there. With guidance from our hosts, we chose a specific menu to try different things. The drinks were really unique & enjoyable. The staff was exceptional and gave us plenty of attention throughout, at a nice leisurely pace. They definitely made it a more exciting experience—they are FIRE! The plating was just gorgeous and artistic! All of the dishes were of exceptional quality ingredients, but not all were particularly outstanding. For instance, my fish was wonderful, albeit overly salted. The portions are perfect and they gave us THREE wonderful beautifully presented desserts for the birthday. We packed most to go after a preliminary taste, except the ice cream one, obvi! Some of the dishes weren’t of the same high standard as the rest, but none were below par. Ask the staff and pay attention to the particular menu pairings. Read carefully, discuss with your server/staff member and know what you are getting! Overall it is a lovely experience, with plenty of wow factor. However, I don’t think we will return, as we weren’t quite WOW’ed enough for another $500 meal here now that we have crossed it off the list. It’s DeFiNiTeLy worth a visit for a special occasion.
Was really looking forward to this dining experience, as we have dined at several of Chef Robuchon's Paris restaurants. While the food was delicious, the service was truly horrible. I don't know if it is because we opted for ala carte menu or the location of our high top. but our servers were both inattentive and impersonal. Typically with such cuisine, there is a significant fanfare and discussion, but this was simply lacking. Even the wine service was lackluster. Normally, I don't mind the 20% included gratuity, but in this case. I wished I could have reduced it considerably. Based on other reviews, I will assume it was an off night
Expect the French culinary very buttery very creamy, wine pairing did not really enhance the flavors of dish. Although wines are good quality just probably not quite the pairing for each dish. Beautiful presentation but it’s lacking a clear theme. Everyone was very friendly and attentive! Ambience alright! The stairs has a funky sweaty smell! Our second time in this restaurant it’s a two Michelin here in Miami, for a two they need to step up more.
This is such a tough rating to give for me, as our expectations of this place was well above what we encountered. Our servers were all very friendly and professional, and with great recommendations. The concept that everyone in your party must order of the same menu is completely ridiculous and silly. They offer 3 separate options; the $195/pp option, the $295/pp, and a la carte. With us being 7 different people, we would like the option to choose one of the 3, and not "forced" into a menu we weren't as much of a fan of. We all opted for the $195 menu, which was honestly hit or miss. The fois grass amuse bouche was INCREDIBLE, but the sweet breads was not good. The fish was ok, and I personally liked my beef Wellington style dish. Bread came way too late, but the butter and the mash potatoes were fantastic! Dessert wasn't really appealing, and wish they had Creme Brule, obviously this is very subjective! That being said, the presentation of each dish was superb! But if youre gonna have not one, but two Michelin stars, your food better be up to par. And if youre going to charge almost $600 for a party of 2 with one bottle of wine, it should also be out of this world. As good as the service was, ill never go back there and spend this much money on an average meal.
Had high expectations for the only 2 star Michelin restaurant in Florida. Unfortunately, our experience was just okay. Considering other gourmet restaurants we've eaten at, we found that the flavors, preparation, and presentation were underwhelming. Very small portions. Service was highly attentive and friendly. Definitely not worth $800.00 for 2 people. We left questioning the validity of Michelin star ratings. Will not be back.
