Opinions de Luigi's Pizza New York
I rarely write reviews this place is an absolute institution. It’s the first thing I get when I come back to the city after a long break, it’s one of the only things I miss while I’m traveling, they have some of the best mozzarella in the whole city, they deserve all the praise they get, never ordering from this place you gotta stand there and wait for it, I remember when I was younger I would order in and I only live like two blocks away and I’ll get it and I think this can’t be Luigi. This is not nearly as good. But just put in a a smidge more effort and get some of the best pizza you’ve ever had in your entire life, bonus for the cheap garlic knots that they have sometimes midday.
Aye t̾e̾r̾p̾y̾fam bein a pizzahed i had to score up, so how was it..... Over an 8 kid, quit playin w/me. Had a couple a classic reheated slice n immediately kno I gotta comeback for a whole freshie cuz'n cuh these lil wedges are as iconic as iconic gets. Honestly if someone were to ask a true new yorker what an ideal city slice would be this is 100% spot on the head of a pin accurate right here bro. The undercarriage has zero flop, the sauce has a touch of sweetness and the zing this just screams "Aye yo tony, gedafuccouttahee", nicely balanced and then a quality cheese on top that doesn't skimp like ya mudda on the corner @ 2am. Then yea have the crust that brings it all together, that city water taste and quality flour....maaaaahron! Glad I got to thank the man himself for the longevity and here's to another 50 plus!
Luigi's Pizza is one of those classic Brooklyn spots that just gets it right. The crust really stood out super flavorful with a nice crisp bite that holds up perfectly. The sauce was just as good, rich and well seasoned without overpowering the slice. Simple, well executed pizza that reminds you why places like this stay around. Definitely worth stopping in if you're in the area
We did the tourist thing, and visited Luigi's because we'd seen it on TV. Often, the reality isn't what you expect. In the case of Luigi's we got everything we hoped for, and more: a warm welcome and a slice (or four) of pizza made with love and attention. The whole family seem to be busy working, keeping the long line of customers fed and happy, and I loved being handed my pizza by the lady behind the counter with the words "they ya go, honey, enjoy!". You could feel the love they put into feeding people. We may never get the chance to visit New York again, but if we do, we're going for a slice at Luigi's!
stop whatever you're doing and make a beeline for this place. the pizza is the best in all of new york. hands down. the owner is a great guy. family-owned. everything about this place is incredible. the history, the family, the atmosphere, the pizza makers---but more than anything the pizza is beyond! perfect dough, delicious sauce, seasoned just right.
Luigi’s Pizza — Brooklyn By far the best slices I had all day. I went in planning to order just a cheese slice, but when I saw a Sicilian coming out of the oven, I had to ask what it was. The woman at the counter confirmed it was Sicilian, and I immediately added one to my order — a decision I didn’t regret for a second. Both slices were excellent. The cheese slice earns an 8.3/10, and the Sicilian comes in at an 8.1/10. Neither slice was greasy at all, and the crunch was outstanding — the kind of crisp that would probably register on a Richter scale. Luigi’s is cash only, which some people don’t love, but I respect it. I’m a cash-is-king guy, and it fits the old-school vibe. The dining room has a few tables, though not many, and it looks like they may be expanding. I took my slices to go and ate outside on a stone slab, admiring the classic Luigi’s neon sign — a really nice touch for a neighborhood pizzeria. This place is a high recommendation. Not only was it the best slice of the day, it’s easily my second-favorite pizza spot in all of New York City. If you’re in Brooklyn, Luigi’s is a must-stop.
✨ While searching for dining options near Green-Wood Cemetery in Brooklyn, I stumbled upon Luigi’s Pizza. After poring over numerous glowing reviews on Google Maps, I decided to give it a try. And it was an excellent choice. The slices are served on metal trays, and from the very first bite, I was hooked. There’s something truly special about that perfect crisp crust, tangy sauce, and molten cheese. It’s fascinating that this family-owned gem has been a neighborhood staple since 1973, preserving authentic traditions across generations. In my opinion, Luigi’s serves some of the finest pizza in all of New York City. If you’re craving quintessential classic NYC-style slices, this is the spot. I highly recommend it, especially for first-time visitors to the city. Note that it’s a cash-only establishment, which only adds to its charming old-school vibe.
I had the pleasure of visiting Luigi's Pizza today with my family to show my kids what the best NY pizza is all about. Gio, the owner and pizzaiolo, didn't disappoint. He made us the most delicious pizza with the crispiest undercarriage. My family and I loved the pizza, it's truly the best NY pizza you can get, and Gio is a pleasure to meet. This family business has been around since 1973 and represents the pinnacle of NY pizzas. Thanks for keeping it old-school authentic!
Been waiting to get to Luigi's for months and finally made the trip yesterday! Met Gio, who is literally one of the nicest pizza guys in the biz. I had my heart set on a cheese pie but he recommended that I get half cheese and half margarita. He was right! Before our pie came out, we had 2 vodka grandma slices. Oh my gawd! They were the best slices we had all day! Thank you so much Gio, I can't wait to come back!!
Somewhere along the ragged seam of Brooklyn where the old world still clings on by rusty nails and weather-faded storefronts, there’s a place like this Luigi’s Pizza. A joint that doesn’t give a damn about influencer angles or sourdough crust dissertations. It’s not trying to reinvent the wheel. It’s the wheel and a damn good one. You push through those scuffed double doors and you can almost hear the ghosts of every after-school hang, every construction worker’s lunch break, every late-night slice consumed under flickering streetlights. Inside: the smell of tomato sauce that takes zero excuses, mozzarella that melts into the cracks of memory, and the hum of a fridge that’s probably older than half the neighborhood. The slice arrives on a metal tray, no fuss grease glistening like a promise. The first bite hits you with that primal recognition: this is the pizza you grew up thinking all pizza would taste like. Before your palate was corrupted by artisanal nonsense and “elevated” cuisine. This is New York doing what New York does best: feeding you, quickly, honestly, beautifully. Pepperoni curls like tiny meat chalices filled with rendered fat the holy water of the boroughs. The cheese stretches just long enough to make you look ridiculous, but you don’t care. Because somewhere in that molten pull, you’re eight years old again, feet dangling off a red vinyl booth, convinced that pizza was the greatest invention in human history. The Coke? Served in a paper cup that sweats like it’s been working all day. No craft sodas. No imported sparkling mineral bullshit. Just cola, cold enough to sting a little. Out on the sidewalk, life moves past you impatient, loud, occasionally absurd. But you sit there with two slices and a drink, and time slows for a moment. This is Brooklyn the greatest country in the world as the sign proudly reminds you. Luigi’s isn’t nostalgia. It’s continuity. It’s the taste that refuses to grow up just because you did. And goddamn that feels good.
One of my dreams was to go to NY and have a pizza pie! Definitely the best I've ever had! Giovanni was a very kind soul and i talked with him just about the whole time i was there about 40 mins. I showed up early for the atmosphere which I was immediately warped back to 1973 days that I pine over and about and witnessed them working hard to get the slice pies together as alot of "Yorkers" prefer a slice and a Coke. I myself bought a whole pie sausage and pepperoni my personal favorite! I absolutely recommend this place to anyone going to NY for the first time. Cash only establishment adding to the "old school vibe". ❤️ An amazing experience and a dream come true for me. I ended my visit with a handshake and a taste that I won't soon forget! Thanks Again Giovanni! "How you doin"? 🤌 I'm definitely coming back one day and hope to see you again!

Pizza is sub standard. Crust was hard -- not crisp, just hard. Sauce was gross. Even my husband didn't enjoy it, and he's not that discerning.

A very tiny place for a great pizza experience. You can see the owner making the pizzas himself. Magic. There are only a few small tables at the back, so be ready to have to wait. It's worth it.

Have mix reviews about this place The pizza hear is great and everything don't get me wrong! The only thing is that it's too crunchy for me, I'm that type of person who likes the pizza juicy, instead of very crunchy. If you're the type of person who likes crunchy pizza you should try it out! If you're the type of person who likes juicy pizza, I don't really recommend this place since the pizza is very crunchy and if you're looking for a pizza place that has very juicy pizza I'll have to recommend L&B Spumoni Gardens!
The regular thin cheese slice was crispy, but the bread had this stale feeling. The square slice was better and was more crispy. Square slice also reminded me of this classic Pizza Hut bread sticks. There was a small line when I got there. It was a bit disorganized because the start of the line was unclear
