Opinions de Oda House New York
This is hands down one of the best neighborhood restaurants I’ve been to in a long time. The food was wow, wow, wow — deeply flavorful, comforting, and beautifully prepared. Every dish felt special. The service was just as impressive — kind, attentive, and genuinely warm. It’s rare to find a place where both the food and hospitality are this strong. I left already planning my next visit. A true hidden gem.
The beef&pork khinkali were AMAZING (10 out of 10) !! The KHACHAPURI even more amazing (15 out of 10!). For entrees, we had the chakhokhbil (9 out of 10) and was very tasty but the better entree for my fiancee and I ended up being the Lamb Lula Kebab with mashed potatoes (10 out of 10)!! I was surprised how well all the flavors per dish went together. We forgot to take a picture of the KHACHAPURI because we couldn't contain ourselves but it looks like the ones they have online ofcourse. 🙏👌👌👌 almost forgot! We didnt want to drink alcohol and so we got Pear flavored Natakhari, also recommend!
Excellent experience at Oda House. Georgian food is awesome and still somewhat unfamiliar in the US, but on the rise. I can see this restaurant being hard to get a reservation one day.
So yummy and good! The restaurant is so cozy, the staff is so friendly (it feels like a family run spot!), and the food is delicious. I had a great experience and would highly recommend! My boyfriend said it was the best food he had on his week long trip to visit me in the city!
If you’re looking for a cozy vintage atmosphere, Amazing service, and truly exceptional cuisine this place is it. What makes it special is the authentic selection of Georgian wines, brought directly from Georgia. And if you’re curious about Georgian culture or wine, the manager and staff are genuinely happy to share their knowledge. Highly recommended
We came today after my interest in Georgian life and culture. We were not disappointed! We were greeted by a gentleman in a blazer, sharp looking guy - most likely the manager or owner. He made a few recommendations on the cheese breads. I went with the beef option, my friend went with the vegetarian bean option. We also had borscht. For the presentation to the flavor of the food, we were very impressed! The music and ambiance was also very beautiful and tasteful. The prices are well below nyc average which you can’t beat. We will definitely be back for Dinner and to bring our friends. Visiting this restaurant makes me want to visit Tblisi even more now!
10/10 – An unforgettable Georgian dining experience! I had an absolutely incredible dinner at Oda House. From the moment we walked in, the atmosphere felt welcoming and authentic, and the service was impeccable warm, attentive, and genuinely hospitable. The food was outstanding. Everything came out quickly, beautifully prepared, and packed with flavor. The soup dumplings were out of this world, and the tarragon lamb was unforgettable aromatic, and truly special. Every dish felt thoughtfully crafted and uniquely delicious. The hospitality was beyond generous. We were offered wine and drinks throughout the evening, and I had the chance to try several varieties of chacha, and xcellent Georgian wines. Between the amazing food, exceptional service, warm atmosphere, and fantastic drinks, the entire experience was a perfect 10/10. Oda House is an absolute gem—one of the best dining experiences I’ve had in a long time. Highly recommend!
Michelin where are you? If I could give more stars I would. Having visited Tbilisi 3 weeks ago, I had been craving Georgian cuisine on my trip to NYC. Thank the lord I decided on ODA House. Initially, I found a list of recommendations off Reddit and after seeing the reviews as well as pictures of the ambience, date night was locked in. The vibe and hospitality in there took me back to the streets of Tbilisi. We had the Adjaruli khachapuri, Mushroom and cheese Khinkali, Meat Khinkali, and a WHOLE LOTTA medium amber wine (MUST TRY). Tarkhuna was also on our table (Tarragon Soda, looks like a magic potion and kinda tastes like it too haha). Starting with the Meat khinkali which came first (we hadn’t even ordered it), my company was vegetarian so I am glad we caught it before inhaling them. Nonetheless I personally enjoyed them, aromatic soup, tender meat filling (not sure exactly I am guessing pork), and soft enclosure. Now for the khinkali that we actually ordered. WOW. I was at a loss of words. Having only tried meat variants of the dumpling, the mushroom and cheese blew me away. Served with sour cream and a completely unique flavour profile, my most recommended menu item. The adjaruli khachapuri was served next. Very traditional, only difference I noticed was that the egg was poached and the yolk wasn’t as runny as I have had in Georgia. Hot and soft bread, well-done brown crust, buttered…no sorry…lathered and the cheese was so rich. My final piece on this dish? TO DIE FOR. Our server was nice enough, but the management was top notch. They attended to our khinkali hiccup with such accountability. Didn’t charge us for the menu item of course, but also put my 3 glasses of wine on the house. Not to mention the warm apology from what I will assume was the owner of the restaurant. Before leaving, he insisted on taking a shot with him…on the house again! Chiche…Georgian brandy, went down like dessert. XO. They indeed took care of us and I hope I have too. God bless this restaurant, they deserve Michelin attention. Can’t wait to be back in Tbilisi…sorry…NYC!!!
Oda House Manhattan truly deserves not just one, but another Michelin star! The experience was absolutely wonderful from start to finish. The staff was incredibly attentive — our server was especially kind and thoughtful, and her recommendations were spot-on. The food was simply delicious — authentic Georgian cuisine that was a true pleasure to discover and savor. Every dish was full of flavor, beautifully prepared, and made with obvious care. We had a fantastic evening and want to highlight the entire team for creating such a warm atmosphere and for putting so much love and value into their homemade, heartfelt cooking. We’ll definitely be back!
It was our first time visiting this Georgian restaurant, and the experience was fantastic! The food was absolutely delicious — you can really taste the authenticity and tradition in every dish. The chef uses very old, traditional recipes, and it truly shows in the rich, flavorful results. The restaurant itself is spacious, beautifully decorated, and filled with interesting art on the walls. The portions are quite generous, so we didn’t have enough room to try the desserts this time — but we’ll definitely be coming back to explore more dishes (and finally have dessert!). The service was a bit on the slower side, but everyone was friendly and welcoming
We visited this place for a Sunday brunch, having found it in Open Table. It’s our first time to have authentic Georgian food and this place didn’t disappoint. I ordered Adjaruli, my wife ordered the Mtsvadi (grilled chicken) and we shared kinkali (dumplings). The food is really tasty, well presented and the place is tidy with all the local deco. The only thing this place can improve a little bit is their service, our booking was at 11am and we arrived on time but the place is still closed. So we had to wait for about 15mins outside the restaurant and another 15mins or so to be served. But overall, it was a good experience.
We’ve visited Georgia and it’s a cuisine that brings special memories back to us. We’ve been to nine other Georgian restaurants and bakeries around the U.S. — and Oda House is the best we’ve had so far! The quality of the Khinkali (lamb soup dumplings) was much better than others we’ve had. The Khachpuri was incredible (iykyk that Imeruli is even better tasting than the IG trend egg boat Adjaruli) — a pro tip is to help balance the heaviness with their pickles side and ask for ajika (a peppery sauce that is great - it’s not on the menu but should be!). The only thing that could have made the meal even more perfect would be to have Churchkhela available to-go! Thanks to the team for a special meal and while there are quite a few other Georgian places in NYC, definitely go here and you won’t regret it!
An amazing local restaurant that serves authentic Georgian dishes. From manager to servers; everyone was very accommodating, friendly, and attentive. Despite being a party of 14, the service was smooth with food coming out at the right interval and server/manager constantly checking up on us to make sure we got everything we needed. Ambiance-wise, the table set-up, lighting, etc was perfect. The restaurant ended up giving us complimentary tea at the end of our meal which is greatly appreciated. Highly recommended especially for those looking to host large parties!
I had never eaten Georgian food, so I didn’t know what to expect at Oda House. Now that I tried it I can only agree with my husband who asked as soon as we left, “When are we coming back?” Everything was wonderful from the dumplings to the Borsch soup, a plentiful salad, wonderful Chanakhi, a lamb with eggplant, tomatoes, onions. Perfectly spicy, but not hot. My husband ordered the Kubdari, “Organic chopped beef, onions, herbs & Georgian spices baked inside yeast dough” and not only was it very good, but it was a huge portion, for two, even three people. The portions are generous plus. The service super, super attentive. UPDATE- we returned for brunch. Had the Oda House eggs with their super Georgian bread. You can choose four ingredients from a selection. I had pork belly, tomatoes, onion and mushroom and I recommend it. Oda House is now in our list of favorite restaurants.

This little restaurant has caught my eye every time of the many times i have meandered by it. This friday it seemed appropriate to have a closer look. Made the reservation, signed and sealed. I walk in a gesture to the host, reservation. He escorts me to my table. I sit down as though I am some sort of highly respected food critic (one day). He comes over shortly after with a menu, another man drops off a bottle of water. Eventually I order, I might add at this point that the service throughout my meal had seemed merely transactional, no words were exchanged above what was absolutely necessary. Something that doesn’t necessarily bother me, but something to note. Perhaps it is a Georgian attitude, I know my Armenian grandmother can come off like this at time - that point is related to the extent Georgians and Armenians are similar, which I am not sure. I digress. I order Soko Ketze and the Chakapuli, to be accompanied by a glass of red georgian Kvevri wine. The Soko Ketze was underwhelming, and i partly blame myself in choosing poorly among the options, but it was essentially white button mushrooms that were only slightly cooked and didn’t appear to have much seasoning, then melted georgian cheese on top, the cheese was good but seemed haphazardly put together, both of which sat in a pool of butter. The Chakapuli was great, tender lamb bits nestled amongst some great punchy herbs of tarragon, parsley, mint, and i’m sure others. bread was good too and the wine i very much enjoyed. Other notes: really cool interior and chinaware. Would come back to try other dishes.
As a newcomer to Georgian cuisine, I visited Oda House with curiosity. The experience was generally positive, with generous portions, thoughtful decor, and a warm atmosphere. The ingredients were fresh, and the presentation and spices in the lula kebab were excellent. However, the air conditioning was stuffy, and the service lacked attentiveness. The meat in the lula kebab and Chanakhi stew was tough, particularly the lamb, which was inedible. Despite these issues, Oda House has the potential to be exceptional with improved service and meat tenderness.
First time having Georgian food, the chef here really outdid themselves. The Chikhirtma “chicken soup”, was the star of the of show! The amount of flavor that soup had! I’d thought it’d be creamy but it wasn’t. The bread that came with it complimented it so well. Unfortunately didn’t get to take a picture of the Adjaruli with the egg, the server here mixes it for you. The toast on the Adjaruli was 10/10. The chicken was juicy, tender, full of flavor. I love when I go to restaurants and the chef really knows what they’re doing. The service here was a bit standoffish. The dessert was good 6/10.

Had a really disappointing experience at Oda House. Was really looking forward to eating here, been putting it off until the weather was cold enough to indulge in some nice Georgian comfort food. I had done my research and knew I had to order the appetizer sampler which I was so excited for! I’m a big fan of beets and mushrooms and saw online from many reviews and Instagram tagged photos that it came with 3 salads, one with beets, one with mushrooms and one basic salad all of which you can order individually from the salad section. When it arrived however it had three salads but all were the same, tomato cucumber and onion. The only difference between them was one had pesto, one had mayo, and the other was undressed. My heart sank because it’s really what I came here for. When our server came to take our plates my husband asked about the sides and she just said “yeah we don’t do that anymore” I’m curious because it was only a week ago on instagram that they indeed had those sides. I have a suspicion that because we were the first reservation for at least an hour that the kitchen just weren’t arsed. I think considering how lazy it was to just throw three of the same salads on the plate that they would discount the price after we enquired. But we were charged the full 38$ (steep to say the least for a salad) and definitely does not reflect the quality of the food. We decided to leave a 15% tip to reflect our disappointment and it was clear our server was less than impressed with her tip. We left feeling really deflated. I think we will need to go elsewhere to try authentic Georgian food.
