Maestro Pasta is everything you hope a classic New York Italian restaurant will be. From the moment you walk in, the atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the service is attentive without ever feeling rushed. The pasta is exceptional, made fresh in plain sight, clearly made with care and respect for tradition. Every dish we tried was perfectly balanced, rich in flavor, and thoughtfully prepared. You can taste the quality of the ingredients and the pride that goes into the kitchen. I highly recommend the polenta fries to start! It’s the kind of place that reminds you why Italian food done the right way never goes out of style. Whether you’re visiting the city or a local looking for a reliable favorite, Maestro Pasta delivers consistently and beautifully. Highly recommend and absolutely worth returning to.
What a great spot!! My wife and I often enjoy trying new (to us) pasta spots and this one has probably been the best so far. I had the Pasticciata and Lasagna, for which the Pasticciata gets the spotlight, it is creamy and very flavorful, it was so good I barely took breaths between each bite. My wife had the Cacio e Pepe and burrata salad, the Cacio e Pepe was also very very good, it may have a slight upper hand over everything else we ordered, great taste, creamy and overall just incredible. Most definitely will be returning and recommend you give it a try!
Maestro Pasta in New York is pure magic — a slice of Italy right in the heart of the city! The hospitality is warm, genuine, and makes you feel instantly at home. And the food? Absolutely phenomenal — come a casa. It was so irresistible that I went back four times in just one week! This place is a must-visit for anyone who loves Italian cuisine.
An excellent dining experience from start to finish. The food was authentically Italian and done really well. The interior decor adds a great atmosphere, and the staff were outstanding — enthusiastic, warm, and genuinely welcoming. Will definitely be back next time we’re in the US!
Delicious food, became one of my fav go to places in the city when I’m in the mood for pasta. The owner seems to really take his pasta seriously. Servers can sometimes make you feel rushed when taking your order, but they are not necessarily rude. I don’t take it to heart that much. Just know what you want before you get there. Food is always prepared with care and that’s what I really appreciate about the place.
Second time at this gem! Fantastic food (we have been to Italy a lot) and service. Haven’t had better pasta in the city. Highly recommend and will come back again and again. Thank you ❤️
I had only passed by before, but finally stopped in for dinner on a weekday afternoon. It was impressive to see the handmade pasta being prepared right in front of us. With both table and bar seating, it also feels like a good place to come alone. I ordered the Puttanesca and a glass of white wine, the portion was generous enough that I couldn’t finish and had to take the rest to go. The noodles were a bit thicker than I usually prefer, but overall I really enjoyed the meal.
Wonderful food after hitting the NYC with 2 kids we needed a great homemade meal. The service was friendly and the kids loved the swing benches :) We were cold and starving , fresh homemade pasta hit the spot. Lovely atmosphere, sweet staff with a great sense of humor:)
Went in expecting a good meal, but boy were we blown away! Each pasta was flavorful & bold. The Cacio a Pepe was one of the bests I’ve had. The service— incredible! Marco is an absolute gem! If the food had been mids we would come back for him alone. TY NY 💘💘
Staff is EXTREMELY kind and informative!!!! The food is FANTASTIC, AUTHENTIC & made to order!!!! They have adorable swings to sit on while enjoying your delightful meal. The staff also makes you feel as though you’re family. Highly recommended and we will definitely be back the next time we are in the city!!
This place really delivers on both food and vibe. As soon as you walk in, you’re greeted by the sight of fresh pasta being made right in front of you — the guy working the pasta machine is actually the same one you’ll see in a bunch of their Google photos and videos on Google maps reviews. It’s a fun, unique touch that sets the tone right away. Inside, the atmosphere is warm and cozy with string lights that add a nice glow. The service was genuinely great — super friendly staff who made the whole experience feel welcoming. Now for the coolest part: some of the seats are actually swings. Yep, actual swings hanging from the ceiling. It’s a really fun idea, but heads up — if you want to sit on those, definitely make a reservation. We didn’t, so we ended up at a regular table (still comfy though). As for the food: excellent across the board. The Bolognese was a standout, but honestly, every pasta we tried — red sauces, white sauces, different noodle types — was on point. Fresh, flavorful, and clearly made with care. Would happily go back — just with a reservation next time so we can snag those swing seats.
Amazing authentic Italian food. Alessandro is warm and welcoming and the food truly is a meal like you have never experienced!!! You will not be disappointed! We can’t wait to come back. The coziness of the tables and swings are so unique and inviting.
Got the Cacio e Pepe and it was unreal :) super creamy, perfectly al dente, exactly how I love it. The focaccia was fluffy inside, crispy outside, totally addictive. Chill vibe, friendly service… honestly, can’t wait to go back.
Truly an amazing pasta spot! Ordered the cacio e pepe and it was out of this world. Pasta was perfectly al dente and sauce was creamy but not too rich. Owner came by to check on us and was very kind!
I just had a fantastic dining experience with my husband and our adult daughter at Maestro! Alessandro and his team are terrific - they all made us feel so welcome. The food is delicious - we could see our pastas cut just before serving (which is special and unique) and exactly as we requested. The portions are generous and the wines were great. The atmosphere is great - beautifully decorated with an energetic feel yet still easy to talk and hear just our table. We loved Maestro so much that we are now planning some private parties there. Maestro Pasta is a true gem!
We were in New York for two days and decided to visit this restaurant. Everything was very delicious. The atmosphere was very pleasant, and the service was excellent. Even though we were a large group, everything was well organized and attentive. The owner personally took great care of us, which made the whole experience feel warm and welcoming, like home. We really enjoyed our visit and would definitely come back.
My son and I walked into Maestro Pasta for a quick bite with no expectations and we were very pleasantly surprised when we were promptly seated at the bar and taken care of in a warm friendly atmosphere like we eat there every night. The surprise of this restaurant is that it is in a very touristy neighborhood, yet it has the feeling like a restaurant you could eat at regularly and always be satisfied/delighted with your food. We had such a nice experience. The menu was full of pleasant surprises and yummy choices. The service was friendly, available, pleasant, and proud of the beautiful food that they were making and serving. I look forward to going back and taking my GF, starting with the artichoke appetizer as a nice prelude to the homemade pasta.
We absolutely loved this place! The putine we ordered was magnificent and plentiful, the service amazingly generous, fast, and friendly, and the ambience uniquely beautiful. I was particularly blown away by the sheer variety of mouthwatering sauces, the perfect crispiness of the frites, and the fact that the whole restaurant's décor is defined by solid wood and brass, making it feel like a cozy 17th-century tavern. This is the ideal spot to go to on a chilly, blustery evening. I can't wait to return to try even more of their ingenious sauces and delicious Belgian ales. What a gem!
Pommes Frites has always been a good to in order for me to satisfy my fries cravings. They serve great portions at a good price and there are sooo many options for sauces. They have great service , allowing you to try any of the flavors before you make you order and then in a matter of moments, youre meal is ready. The atmosphere is like an old tavern feel , but the seats and space is limited. But overall I love this place!
This place serves fries like you’d find in the Netherlands or Europe—crispy on the outside, fluffy on the inside, and served with a huge variety of sauces. The Black Truffle Mayo is a must-try, especially with the large-size fries. The interior has a medieval-style decor, but they play modern pop music, which is kind of a weird mix—but in a cool way. The menu is all about their signature fries, double-fried for that perfect texture, with over 30 dipping sauces ranging from classics like roasted garlic aioli to more unique options like Vietnamese pineapple. It’s a small spot but super popular with both locals and tourists. Great for a quick, delicious snack, and they’re open late—until midnight on weekdays and 2 AM on weekends—so perfect for late-night cravings!
I was so excited to find this place while wandering the area on a Sunday afternoon. There is nothing quite like delicious, hot French fries, and the added bonus of a variety of dipping sauces made this over the top perfect. Fries were unbelievably good! The cheese sauce was a favorite, and the honey mustard and bbq were good as well. The black truffle was pretty heavy on the garlic, so I would not order that one again next time. Highly recommend!!
Always fun coming here and trying new flavors with friends. The place is small and can get really packed, but they're open late nights and it's a good bite to grab.

Maestro Pasta is such a cute place. Very small with moderately limited seating, but I was able to walk right in and get a table for 2 at 7pm on a Saturday with no wait. It was so neat to see the pasta being made right in front of you, and the atmosphere is so great. The service was amazing, VERY quick to deliver the meal and drinks, and very friendly. I got an espresso martini which was very delicious (just note, it is more on the expensive side, almost the same price as my meal) but it was amazing. Unfortunately, I felt like my food (Bolognese with fettuccine noodles) was lacking. The portion size was great, definitely MORE than enough food for me (enough for 2 meals), but the taste was not was I was expecting. It was quite bland and underwhelming compared to the environment. Overall, this was a good place to visit and I had a good experience, I just wish my food was a bit more flavorful.
We were hungry and thirsty while walking down this street, and decided to eat here. Definitely worth it. They hand made their pasta in front of our eyes, and the sauces were creamy, flavorful, and great portions as well. The place is small, but looked like you stepped into a little bit of Italy. Waiters were incredibly friendly and nice, and served with efficiency. Would come here again, definitely worth it.
Fried Artichoke hearts was a great starter and the garlic aioli was great. Tiramisu was surprisingly dry but not the worst, not enough coffee flavor. Tartufo with fettuccine was the best pasta dish, Anolini Pasticciati filling was flavorless but the sauce was good. Tartufo focaccia was super filling and tasted great but it was really heavy, I didn’t expect so much cheese and sauce. Atmosphere was amazing, food was good, service was all right.
Another hit from the book One Food Wonders. It's all frites, frites, frites. The only question when you walk in is what sauce do I want with my frites and let me tell you it is not an easy one. Luckily with the amount of frites, even a small, you can pick 2 or 3 sauces and still get a good feel for all of them. I went with the Roasted Garlic Aioli. And in case you are wondering the holes in the tables are where you put the frites cones.
I have been running a traditional Belgian frituur “Oma’s Frit” for 15 years 🇧🇪. I walked in here out of pure curiosity, because Belgian fries are not just food — they’re a network of tradition and perfection, built over generations. The secret to real Belgian fries lies in the quality and variety of the potatoes, the type of fat used, and precise control of temperature and frying time. Even how many potatoes are added to the fryer at once makes a difference: if you add too many, the temperature suddenly drops, which immediately affects the texture. A powerful fryer, the right fat, and especially the double-frying method with correct temperatures and timings are absolutely crucial. In Belgium, potatoes are delivered fresh every day, and we mostly use Bintje potatoes because of their unique flavor and structure. Occasionally we switch to Agria, but nothing truly compares to good Bintjes. With all that in mind, I was curious to give this place a try. I walked in… and honestly, I walked back out rather quickly. The bar for fries in Belgium is simply very high, and what I saw here didn’t reach that level. This is not meant as negative criticism, just an honest observation: real fries… that’s something truly Belgian. 🇧🇪🍟
Staff was really polite and nice. The fries were good and had a large variety of sauces. My family decided to get a large order and 3 sauces ( samurai ketchup, cheddar cheese and frittes mayo). The fries were a little underwhelming, but would still recommend folks to try them and sample taste the sauces. The tables were cool since you could put your fries in the hole and snack easily.

Excellent hole in the wall spot with great fries. Lots of sauce options. Ordered the regular size and would have had enough with the smaller size. Absolutely delicious.
Crispy, fat fries. Excellent sauces. We had the Regular Impossible Poutine and the Regular Poutine with smoked eggplant sauce. both were very good. Sitting is limitted.

If you like fries this is the place to go. Lots of dip choices we had 3. There has to be a pick for every taste. Small seating area. Helpful staff.
For many people this will be FIVE STARS. I want to make that really clear because if you like a thick cut fry that’s golden on the outside with a high “fuffly potato” ratio on the inside, you’ll enjoy it thoroughly because they’ve executed amazingly on that kind of fry. The problem in this case is me: I like a thin cut fry with more of the crunchy / crispy golden exterior and less of the interior of a fry. And they really are two different categories of fry. As far as execution on the former is concerned, it’s done well. I just don’t like that kind of fry. The black truffle mayo we got sounded great but fell very short of our expectations. Barely any truffle flavour and you have to buy truffle oil separately. The place does feel like a rendezvous for Diagon Alley’s shadiest wizards so that’s actually really cool especially because it feels like you’ve entered an olden times tavern restaurant in 18th century England. All in all if you like the thick cut fry scene they guys have executed beautifully, but if you’re like me I wouldn’t choose to come back here simply because of my preference for cut fries. I’m sure these guys would do an amazing job making those.
Visited Pommes Frites on June 30, 2025, at approximately 7:10 PM. The fries were undeniably the highlight—fresh, hot, crispy, and served in generous portions. They definitely live up to the hype when it comes to flavor and texture. However, the customer service left a lot to be desired. The male employee working the counter at that time showed no personality and came across as borderline rude. There was no greeting, no eye contact, and no effort to make us feel welcomed or appreciated. It was a surprisingly cold interaction that took away from an otherwise enjoyable food experience. Great fries, but hospitality matters—and unfortunately, it was missing during our visit.
Small spot, so limited seating. There is a table outside as well. The fries were great but the dip we got, garlic aioli was bad.
