If you’re having a BIG night out in NYC, Solas is straight-up awesome. The place just hits, and a huge part of that is the crew Carlito is cool, plus behind the bar 🤩 Sasha and Simeon-> absolute legends. They’re chill, always fun, and somehow keep the vibes high even when the place is completely packed. No joke, they make the whole experience better. The drinks are always on point drink🥃 no weak pours and the dance floor is bumping. Solas is just the spot. Whether you’re rolling out with the boys, or trying to meet new people, this place delivers every single time.

Our daughter celebrated her 25th birthday party this past weekend with over 75 people, and everything went great! The bartenders, servers, and DJ were super helpful, communicative, and went out of their way to make sure the party was a hit! We brought a large sheet cake and a smaller cake too, and they kept it in the back until we were ready to bring it out! We forgot the gifts behind the bar at the end of the night, but my daughter communicated with Kevin, and we were able to pick them up the next afternoon! Thanks to all for such a fun, memorable dance and drinking celebration! We highly recommend this place!

I hosted my birthday party on the upstairs floor and couldn’t have asked for a better night! Solas was amazing—great atmosphere, great music, and the DJ even took requests. Kevin was super helpful with setting everything up. There was plenty of room for my friends and me to celebrate, and we all had an incredible time. Highly recommend and would definitely come back—10,000%!

I had my birthday party here and the atmosphere was absolutely amazing. The staff were very accommodating and the process was seamless. I really recommend this place if you are looking for a good time with all of your friends and especially for birthdays!! Easy, fun, and great vibes!!! We had the best time and definitely want to come back it was a 10/10.

I recently hosted my birthday party at Solas Bar in New York, and I couldn’t have asked for a better experience! From start to finish, the entire team made the night unforgettable. Kevin, the owner, was incredibly kind and helpful every step of the way—he truly went above and beyond to make sure everything was perfect. I rented out the upstairs venue space, and it was stunning: spacious, beautifully maintained, and had the perfect vibe for a lively celebration. The bartenders were amazing as well—super friendly, attentive, and full of great energy that added to the atmosphere. The drinks were delicious, strong, and very reasonably priced, which all of my guests loved! The DJ kept the party going all night long and even worked my personal playlist into the mix, which made it feel so special. Every detail of the night felt thoughtful and done with care, from the setup to the service. If you’re looking for a beautiful venue with amazing staff, great music, and a welcoming vibe for any kind of celebration, Solas Bar is the place to go. Kevin and his team made my birthday an unforgettable night, and I can’t recommend this spot highly enough!

My friend’s cousin had a birthday celebration here in the upstairs lounge, we had karaoke set up. There was in-house music that we were dancing to between sets and having a great time, the owner was present along with his puppy and everyone was super chill, and all of the bartenders were lovely

The place feels dirty once you’re inside, but I’ll take my chances during happy hour when draft beers are $6 and mixed drinks are $8. It wasn’t very busy, I sat at the bar and there is a small TV. If you want to go somewhere dark and quiet with friendly bartenders then this place is for you.

I *almost* had a great experience until the end of the night. I booked the Red room for my going away party of roughly 20 people. I brought a cake with me (and utensils) and the bartender assured me it was in good care in their kitchen. When it came time to serve the cake, our sweet server, Max, notified me and 2 of my best friends that she found another cake box on top of mine which caused the decals on my cake to smush and ruin. We spent 10 min in the kitchen trying to salvage it but we ended up spreading the icing around and covering it with sparklers to make it presentable (picture attached). Of course this was upsetting as I spent $170 on the cake and was told it would be in good care. Our server assured us she would take care of the issue with a 10% discount on the bar tab (or something equivalent), which was fine with me. The rest of the night was great until it was time to pay the tab. I notified the bartender of what happened and that Max can vouch for the cake fiasco. The bartender said Max wasn’t authorized to say that (which is fine) but she could get her manager, Kevin. Prior to this encounter, I had a great, amicable, and responsive experience with Kevin. He was reliable and followed up so I knew he could help resolve the issue. He came over and started insisting that I was trying to “pull one over on him” and was screaming in my face. I was shocked because my experience organizing the event with him for the past month was extremely pleasant! He went off the rails - saying there was nothing wrong with the cake and “who cares no one even ate it” (not true it was halfway done). He even went into the kitchen, grabbed the leftover cake, and said “LOOK theres nothing wrong with this” (of course after it’s halfway eaten). At this point, I (I’m black btw) was trying to de-escalate but my friends (white) were fuming and couldn’t believe the way he was speaking to a paying customer with an $800+ bar tab. The bartender and I agreed to take discount payment in the form of shots for me and some friends but at this point we didn’t even want them. We just wanted to leave. BTW, when I followed Kevin back into the kitchen with leftover cake, he decided to begrudgingly apologize to me (of course where no one else could hear). We left and I texted Kevin how shocked and disappointed I was I’m his behavior and that I will be leaving a negative review. The attached screenshots speak for themselves. He tries to say there was cake on the floor which isn’t true because they came in right after to turn over the room for another party. Any excuse to not take ownership or blame. FYI - Max, our server, is the only reason I gave the service 2 stars. Black or not, I’ve never seen an owner speak to a paying customer like this. Get your act and anger together.

The service is SO bad, the bartenders are disrespectful and rude, not in a “they’re probably busy and tired” way, they’re BLATANTLY MEAN and selectively so - mostly to people of color. Only thing keeping this place afloat is the fact that the drinks are cheap. There’s a ton of spots in the city with affordable drinks and better service.

Bartender added multiple drinks to my tab that I didn’t order. When I asked for the item receipt all the drinks were just labeled as liquor. Would not recommend.

This experience beyond words the worst i’ve had my entire life in living in NYC. I wouldn’t like to start off by saying Kevin and the staff are extremely racist and stereotype against black folks. As you can you read in the comments it’s not a singular experience. Very standoffish, staff had a rude demeanor when we ordered drinks. They lied and said happy hour was over when it was still time and than when I asked to clarify he shoved a menu in my face. I would not come here if you identify as POC, not worth it. Better off giving your money to an establishment that carters to ALL PAYING CUSTOMER.

DO NOT HOST YOUR EVENT HERE Hosted my event at this spot on Friday and it was horrible communication from the manager from start to finish. The guy Kevin was so rude and unaccomodating. It was made clear to him that we were hosting a MIXER event and on the day of the event, he told us we had to turn off our photobooth because it was too bright for him, said we can’t have NAMETAGS because it’s “nerdy”, and ultimately kicked us off at 12am to take over as his own party (he booked a DJ the whole time even though we agreed to bring our own) despite agreeing to go till 2am. It was clear that he was just using our party to create an atmosphere for his bar that doesn’t have good traffic on its own. If you care about having a party that’s in your control and not being run over by an aggressive manager, DO NOTTT HOST YOUR EVENT HERE. Go to Juke Bar - it’s a much more pleasant experience.
