Opinions de Superbueno New York
Such a cozy and cool spot with an amazing vibe! The atmosphere feels intimate and stylish — perfect for a fun night out. The food is super delicious, though definitely on the spicy side (which we loved!). Every dish was packed with flavor. The melted cheese sandwich is absolutely incredible — honestly worth coming back just for that alone. The cocktails are amazingly crafted and so delicious. One of the best vodka sodas I’ve had, and the mushroom margarita was unique and surprisingly delicious — a must-try! Overall, a fantastic place with great energy, flavorful food, and outstanding drinks. Definitely coming back!
I loved every cocktail I tried. Super well balanced, nothing was overly sweet. Service team were all amazing. I went in on a thursday a little before 5pm (it was happy hour). I was able to walk in and grab a chair at the bar. By 530-6 the place was absolutely packed. If you cant get there before the aftet work rush, id recommend reservations.
Superbueno is the kind of spot that turns “just one drink” into a full evening. The cocktails are playful and dangerously easy to love, inventive and unique but not pretentious… and the botanas are perfect co-stars, not an afterthought. Nacho was incredible. We switched into Spanish when he caught that I am also Hispanic, the warmth and care he showed made the whole experience feel personal. Later realizing he’s a founding partner made it even better. Hospitality at its finest. The vibe is lively and fun, though a touch loud if you’re planning a heart-to-heart; this is more “lean in and laugh” than “whisper over martinis.” But between the inventive cocktails, spot-on bites, and stellar hospitality, Superbueno delivers exactly what you want from a night out: delicious chaos, excellent flavors, and the strong possibility you’ll be back before the week is over.
We returned to this spot for the second time and were pleased to find consistency in quality. On a Thursday evening, we easily secured a spot for two, but reservations are recommended for later in the day. We stopped by for a quick cocktail before our next reservation and enjoyed the Corn Sour and Vodka y Soda - both expertly crafted. The atmosphere is pleasant, and the staff, particularly Kip, provided attentive and knowledgeable service. We're looking forward to returning to try their food options. Great for a date night or with groups of 4-6.
Just walked in after looking for a top 50 cocktails bar ! 😅 Staff was nice and helpful and the cocktails were great... a good start for a new year eve party by myself in NYC
I mean, they are in the 50 best bars in the world of course they are great. By the way is in their name 😉 “Super Bueno” Super good cocktails, super good food and super good service. I try this time Food: Tempura Fish Taco 5 star ⭐️ taste Cocktails: Fresca Tonic, Tepache Highball and Atole de Nuez all 5 star ⭐️ taste. And obviously I had to have the Vodka Soda my favorite guava cocktail. A classic refreshing can’t go wrong with this cocktail here 😋 5 star ⭐️ Shoutout to Shamami great bartender! Also shoutout to Panchito!
I stopped by Superbueno for drinks and had a great time. The cocktails were really well made — balanced, flavorful, and clearly crafted with intention. The atmosphere was fun and lively without feeling overwhelming. It’s the kind of place where the energy of the room just pulls you in and makes you want to stay for another round. Great spot for a night out with friends or a casual drink that turns into a longer hang. Definitely a place I’d return to for both the drinks and the vibe.
Came to Superbueno for a light dinner and a couple of cocktails, and this place absolutely lives up to its name. Everything I had was super bueno. Great atmosphere and a really fun, well-curated list of inventive Mexican-influenced cocktails and bites. I started with the roasted corn sour, which was exceptional. Light and airy, with unique flavors that were really well balanced. Later on I had the mole Negroni, which was also very good and a nice twist on the classic. For food, I ordered the guac, which was well executed, especially the house-made chips that were perfectly crispy. I also had the carne asada tacos, which were flavorful and hit the spot. A great place for drinks and a few bites. I’ll definitely be back.
Superbueno is one of those places that actually lives up to the hype. It is a Mexican American cocktail bar in the East Village, currently ranked No. 2 on North America’s 50 Best Bars list and named Best Bar in the Northeast, plus the highest ranked New York bar on the global World’s 50 Best Bars list. You feel that as soon as you walk in, the room is glowing, the music is on point, and everyone behind the bar looks like they genuinely want you to have a great night. I ordered the Green Mango Martini and my husband went with the Vodka y Soda. The martini is very much a “serious cocktail person” drink, built with blanco tequila, mango distillate, sauternes, green mango, honey, and chili oil. Beautifully made, spirit forward, and clever, it just confirmed that tequila with a sweet wine twist is not my personal thing. The true star for me was the Vodka y Soda, which is not basic at all, it is vodka with clarified guava soda, pasilla chile, a touch of falernum, and a guava salt rim. I ended up finishing most of my husband’s and it might honestly be one of the best cocktails I have ever had, bright, tropical, a little spicy, and ridiculously easy to drink. The vibe is festive without feeling chaotic, cumbia and Latin rhythms in the background, a fun crowd, and service that is sharp, warm, and very on top of things. Our server walked us through the menu in detail and never made us feel rushed, even though the bar was packed. This is absolutely a “book ahead on Resy” situation, especially in the evening, because it fills up fast and it has become a destination for cocktail people from all over. Easy five stars from me, and I would come back just to have that Vodka y Soda again.
We stopped by Superbueno for an easy afternoon drink, and it turned out to be one of those surprisingly relaxing moments in the city. The warm yellow light coming through the windows made the whole bar feel soft and cinematic, and it instantly slowed everything down. We tried four cocktails, each very different but all quite approachable: • Roasted Corn Sour – Smooth, creamy on the surface, but finishes clean. It doesn’t feel heavy at all and the flavor gets better the more you drink it. • Mushroom Margarita – A gentle mushroom aroma that sounds unusual but works beautifully. Balanced, not too sour, not too earthy. • Green Mango Martini – Light, refreshing, and fragrant. Sweet in a clean way, not syrupy or artificial. Easy to sip and very enjoyable. • Mole Negroni – Softer and rounder than a classic Negroni, with less sweetness and a subtle bitterness. Perfect for people who usually can’t handle strong, heavy Negronis. None of the drinks tasted overly strong, but they were smooth enough that we were already a bit buzzed after two glasses. The portions are noticeably larger than many NYC bars, which makes the experience feel more relaxed and less rushed. The bartender was focused and friendly, and the whole atmosphere felt comfortable—no long lines, no pressure, just a good place to slow down for a while. If you like thoughtful, layered cocktails and a calm afternoon vibe, this spot is worth checking out
This bar is super fun and the atmosphere is very colorful and Latin vibes. I got the the vodka soda (guava) per the recc from the bartender over at double chicken please. It was excellent..I wish I had enough stomach to try the mole negroni which sounds interesting along with the mushroom margarita that uses huitlacoche which sounds wild. The bartenders and wait staff were super nice and friendly and talkative when available. Definitely deserving of its status as one of the best bars in the world.
Superbueno feels like a portal, one step off Houston and suddenly you’re somewhere in Mexico City, but not the postcard version. The late-night, neon-lit one where the air hums with mezcal and birria. The cocktails are wild but disciplined. The huitlacoche drink is earthy and elegant, like drinking the forest floor after a summer rain, in the best possible way. The clarified milk punch is a fun one. Silky, balanced, with that subtle sweetness that entices but doesn't overwhelm. The roasted corn cocktail tastes like someone liquefied elote and added sparkles. And the mango one, bright, sharp, tropical, reminds you that summer is gone but it'll come back someday. The food? Tacos that make you forget every sad tortilla you’ve ever had north of the border and a birria sandwich that’s pure, slow-braised bliss. Rich, messy, and perfect.
We came by for a Sunday afternoon drink and will definitely be back. The staff treated us like family and the drinks were probably some of the best cocktails we’ve ever had. Seated at the bar, we had a front row seat to see drinks being prepared and the bartender, Michael, was an exceptional host. M Thanks again for a great experience. 10/10.
Wow! I arrived with incredibly high expectations and they were exceeded! The cocktails are incredibly interesting and thoughtful, as someone that doesn’t like vodka, I still tried their famous vodka soda and was blown away. The tacos are superb and the staff was super friendly and helpful. I recommend making a reservation in advance.
Heard about this place from the top 50 bars list. Of which it is #2 in North America. Sometimes I feel it could kind of do a place a disservice? Don’t get me wrong this is a fantastic bar, the staff was extremely friendly and helpful with recommending drinks and the service was extremely fast. I loved every item i got and I still would have give them five out of five. But is it the 2nd best bar in North American, number one in the USA? Probably not. But that’s the lists fault for being weird. But hey it got me in the door so at least it’s good advertising. Sorry I rant on these sometimes. I’m sad I didn’t get food, but we had just had dinner, but I’m always happy when a bar offers snacks and food! Also I could drink the slushy all night. I would for sure come back to have more of their drinks next time I’m in nyc. This is a great place with I interesting drinks that are defenitly worth your time!
The negative reviews are only one off experiences. Everyone in this bar is having a great time. The music is great, the bartenders are gracious and kind. The pork belly tacos are something to write home about. The cocktails!! Don’t get me started. The roasted corn skirt is by far one of the best cocktails I’ve had in New York. Come here, it was voted a top 50 bar for a reason.
The atmosphere is lively and full of character, with colorful design elements like bright yellow window panels that instantly evoke the vibrant spirit of Mexican culture. Service was solid — the staff were knowledgeable about the drinks and eager to share insights about the spirits and ingredients behind each cocktail. We tried most of the drinks on the menu, and they showcased a wide range of Mexican flavors and ingredients. My favorite was the Fresca Tonic — an herbaceous, fruity, and slightly nutty long drink that’s both unique and easy to enjoy. The Salted Plum & Tamarind Milk Punch was another standout — clean and refreshing, with beautifully layered notes of tartness and depth.
We had almost every drink on the menu. I would say my favorites were the tamarind milk punch and the vodka y soda. But they were all so good, there wasn’t one I didn’t like. Our bartender was so sweet and fun! They also like to have fun music and play with the lights. I would love to get food next time. It was a fun spot
This Mexican bar delivers on flavor and fun! The food was delicious—flavorful plates that hit the spot, and the drinks were strong with a generous pour of alcohol. Great spot if you’re looking to indulge in bold flavors and a solid buzz. The only downside was the service—staff came off a bit pushy, and there was a time limit on our table that wasn’t mentioned upfront, which was a little frustrating. Still, despite that hiccup, the overall vibe and quality make it worth checking out. Definitely a good place for a lively night out with friends!
Everything our group had was excellent. Happy hour drink offerings were slim, but very tasty! Happy hour tacos and snacks are great. We made a reservation and were able to sit with a party of 5, but there were definitely open seats around and it wasn't too crowded during our Friday afternoon/evening visit. The corn whiskey sour was my favorite!
The vibe was really nice and the cocktails were pretty good. The food was average IMO, where we tried the ceviche, birria grilled cheese and the yellow tail tuna crudo. For drinks we tried the green mango martini, the roasted corn sour, mole negroni and Vodka y soda. The vodka y soda is a must have I would say.
I didn’t try any food as I just finished my lunch before heading there for a cocktail. Heard they rank number 12 for 50 best bars so I give a try and ordered the tepache highball served in a minute. Nice, nothing fancy. Sitting at the bar, the atmosphere was good and nice friendly staff.
I went on a Thursday night with a friend. I had been here before, and unfortunately the drinks have gone down in quality. I’ve been to many cocktail bars on NYC “best of” lists, and the cocktails here now feel pretty mediocre. We ordered a Paloma for about $27, which I guess is becoming average in New York, but it was nothing special. The vibe of the place is good and that’s honestly what makes up for the drinks. However, the service experience was one of the strangest I’ve had in New York. We were told we could grab a drink at the bar since there were no tables, but after ordering we were moved around multiple times by staff — a waitress, the hostess, and even the bartender — each telling us we couldn’t stand where we were. At one point we were about to leave, but we made a friend who invited us to have another drink with him since he had space at the bar. We thought we could finally stand there, but again the hostess came and moved us. She literally pointed to two small squares on the floor and told us we had to stand exactly there and not move. It felt bizarre — like we were being constantly repositioned while holding a $27 drink. Also, just so people know: this bar plays reggaeton and Latin music, but dancing is basically forbidden. It’s not written anywhere, but it’s very clear they don’t want you to dance. You’re expected to stand exactly where they tell you. Honestly, this was one of the worst service experiences I’ve had in NYC. I’ve never been pushed around like that by staff before, and because of that I would not recommend this place.
