Opinions de Sushi Enya New York
The food and coffee here are both so good. I’m a big fan of the croissant sandwiches and the scones. And they have wonderful syrup options to change up a delicious latte. The staff has always been so friendly and helpful! Happy for this wonderful cafe in the neighborhood.
A few years ago this spot became my go to coffee shop and has stayed that way since. I love the atmosphere and the coffee is consistently good. The service is A+, thank you Angel, Erin and the whole crew. They know my order before I even say it and it’s not like I’m even here everyday.
We were in New york for three days and we taked our 3 breakfast at Charlotte Cafe! Once to take away and the 2 other time, we stayed at the cafe. The employees were very sweet and kind. The coffees were perfect (real coffees!!) and the brioche with cheese, eggs and bacon delicious! Thanks for your smile! If we come back, we know where we’ll take all our futur breakfasts!
Charlotte is the Coffee Place to be in Upper West Side New York. I live in NYC since July 2025 and made this classic and elegant place my Coffee and creative day to day place.
Absolutely adorable place. Coffee was so good and better than anything you can get at a well known chain store. The staff is very friendly and the atmosphere is lovely!
I’ve been a loyal customer here for years, and this place has always been nothing short of wonderful. The service is consistently warm and friendly, the coffee is the best in the neighborhood, and the pastries are always fresh and delicious. That’s why it was so upsetting to see a sudden flood of negative reviews appear all at the exact same time, many from restricted or empty accounts. It’s blatantly obvious these are fake and not from real customers. It’s sad that someone would attempt to harm the reputation of such an amazing small business in this way. If you’re reading this and feeling unsure because of those reviews, please don’t let a coordinated attack influence your decision. Stop in for a coffee and a pastry — you’ll see immediately why this place has such a strong and loyal following.
Genuinely friendly European Coffee Shop with a solid latte, people who run this cafe chain care about us the customer and I’m glad that I discovered them and I tried all their location so far very very happy to be part of their community. Keep it up guys. Tim
My ultimate favorite coffee shop in NYC. Great coffee, friendly staff, and a cozy atmosphere. This place always brings good vibes whenever I visit.
Toasted croissant tasted amazing ; place is clean and the staff is friendly. They'll whip up an order fast, will be coming back for more ! Also their iced chocolate is such a delish.
Tina was truly incredible. The service was great and more than anything else the community and coffee was exactly what you imagine when you think of the best parts of NYC!
I come here every morning, and I love it. First, the staff is the kindest/nicest people you will ever meet - I consider them my friends. Second, it is a true 3rd space with people I get to say hi to and get updates on their lives each morning as they say hi to my dog. It feels like a European cafe as people sit there reading, working, chatting, etc all through the day. Third, they really know what they are doing with their coffee - truly never had a bad pour there. And their pastries are amazing too. Always recommend Charolette Cafe to anyone in the area! You won’t be disappointed!
Charlotte Cafe is my go-to spot for takeout runs as well as dine-in study/work sessions. The staff here are super friendly, and they always have my favorite orders memorized before I even open my mouth. There are also plenty of food options to accommodate a variety of dietary needs, including gluten free pastries, salads, protein snack packs, and savory as well as sweet snacks. Shoutout to Angel for the wonderful decaf latte today, and to Marla for heating up my gluten free pumpkin spice muffin today, and to Erdi, and the rest of the staff (wish I knew everyone’s names!)
Charlotte is my favorite cafe in the whole city. I’ve been coming here for years, have done my grad school work here, brought dates here, met friends and family members for morning coffees and pastries. Everyone agrees this place is the absolute best. The coffee is delicious, the food is amazing (they have a seasonal pumpkin spice cheesecake that’s to die for). Best of all the baristas are the kindest people— they remember the regulars’ orders. One time they had my coffee prepped before I walked in because my friend who I was meeting told them I was on my way. The owner Vinz let my friend and I take our grad photos here (pic added below!) If you’re looking for a third space on the UWS to work or read or chat or just hang with a hot drink, Charlotte is the place.
I adore this cafe to bits and pieces. Angel remembered my order and Erdi made it taste the exact same, even when I came after almost a year. It's my favorite place to be when I need some coffee flavored daydreams. <3
If you're looking for genuinely good coffee and fast bites without compromising on quality, this is the spot. Their espresso drinks are consistently excellent & you can tell they care about their craft. The coffee is smooth and flavorful, not the burnt, one-note stuff you get at chain cafes. Beyond the coffee, they've got a solid selection of quick food options that actually taste fresh. Whether you're grabbing a pastry, sandwich, or something sweet, everything feels thoughtfully prepared. It's the kind of place that gets the fundamentals right, good beans, attentive prep, and a tight menu. Perfect if you need a quality coffee and a proper bite before heading out. Definitely a neighborhood gem.
I went down to the Upper West Side on Thursday and was on the hunt for a cute coffee shop. I'd seen Charlotte Café on Google Maps, and noticed the good reviews. When I went in, immediately there was pleasant music playing and a general warmth. Tina was VERY cheery and personable as she prepped my drink. I ordered a hot medium mocha with a shot of hazelnut and a shot of lavender. It was absolutely DELICIOUS and I definitely plan on visiting again!
I can’t say enough good things about this cafe. The food and drinks are high quality, but the service is really what sets it apart. Angel and Erdi are legends — they handle everything flawlessly and even have managed to memorize everyone’s usual orders. It’s an impressive and personal touch. Great food, great coffee, better people.
I had a chocolate croissant and espresso shot. Great experience. Nice staff. The owner Vince was an incredibly nice guy. I lost my book at the cafe and he used the security cam footage to help me find it. I am also grateful for genuinely caring staff in a busy city.
Sushi was great and as expected. Would recommend this place. It has a great atmosphere and the waiters are very kind.
This was the first time trying Sushi Enya. We got great service, the food came fast, and tasted as good as it looked. We ordered four special rolls and they were all delicious.
Sat at the sushi bar on a wednesday right when they opened. Got happy hour drinks and omakase (less expensive option). Fish was very fresh. Service was very fast. Receieved miso soup, ten nigiri, and a hand roll. They hooked up the otoro! Great experience.
This was hands down the best sushi I’ve ever had. Sitting at the bar was a fantastic experience, allowing direct interaction with the chefs and a perfect view of the sushi-making process, complete with their insightful comments. We ordered as we went and tried multiple sushi options, including chef recommendations. The Crunchy Vegas roll was the standout—absolutely incredible. The staff was incredibly polite and welcoming, making the experience even more memorable. We loved it so much that we returned the very next day for more. While it’s a bit on the pricier side, it’s worth every penny. The location in Little Tokyo is also perfect. Highly recommended!
Authentic Japanese sushi at finest quality. This place serves sushi prepared at high-end style. Everything will feel perfectly enjoyable. Hence, they do use a bit of yuzu, but it makes the sushi a bit more unique and stylish. The roles are great, and prepared in the right size for a bite. It is size also the kids can enjoy easily. Hence, the price point is not in the lower end. But the quality justifies it.
Overall: 4.6/5 (dine in) The guy working the front is phenomenal! He wears multiple hats, is fluent in Japanese, efficient, & kind. When you are heading to your seat, the guy will announce something in Japanese then the whole staff welcomes you. We chose to sit at the sushi bar which was a great experience. We watched the chefs work and make our food. It was like an art. They put a lot of attention into each fish. The only downside is that they don't provide parking validation for the Japanese Village parking garage. Special Hand Roll ($34.80): This was good but not worth it. Assorted Sashimi ($38.80): Two pieces of 6 different type of fishes. The fifth one was my favorite then the fourth one. They tell you the order in which to eat which generally goes from "least good" to "great". Cherry Blossom ($25.80): They gave the longest roll I've ever seen and the size of each piece was pretty decent. This one was really fresh and better than the Crunchy Vegas. The roll has no rice so it's easier to fall apart though. Crunchy Vegas ($21.80): This was a pretty basic roll and lacking a bit of flavor. Although this place is good, the quality isn't high enough to justify the price.
Visited October 2019. Best sushi experience I've ever had. We waited to have bar seats (definitely recommended). We really enjoyed the interactions with the chefs and watching the art of the delicately put together intricate creations. The flavours were fresh and top quality. I will definitely be back.
Always a treat to eat here. This isn't a fast food sushi place. Instead its a 45 min wait to be seated. Reservations are 2 and 3 months wait. Getting a table is a waiting game but you won't be disappointed. Sushi is fresh, no fishy smell inside. The rice is perfectly sweet and sticky, the 60 dollar plater is done with perfect... enjoy the pics because this food is worth the wait.. our chef also very kind and helpful on foods we didn't know what was being made as we sat at the sushi bar.
Delicious lattes and lovely baristas ! My favorite neighborhood cafe ! They also have gluten-free vegan options, although I wish they had even more! They only complaint is that it's always so crowded and busy because it's so popular wish it was bigger!
Pretty cute lil spot! Came on a weekday around 6pm so it wasn’t too busy and conveniently during happy hour (which is 5:30-6:30)! I’m vegetarian and there were some pretty decent options. Loved the vegan green man and the Japanese potato fries were pretty good, but could use a dipping sauce like sriracha mayo or something. Shishito peppers were good as well!
Came here for dinner in a group of 7 on a Friday night. We had to wait for an hour to get seated since we had a large group with no reservation. Indoor seating only. They have a omakase option but we all opted for a la carte. I had a chirashi bowl which was quite filling and had a lot of fish. I got green tea which came with free refills. Service was friendly and there are gendered restrooms in the back. Metered street parking. Credit cards accepted. It’s a classy spot to eat high quality fish.
This is the Little Tokyo outlet of Sushi Enya. The place is on the same street as the popular ramen place. We orders the 18 piece sashimi set twice and the chef was thoughtful enough to put different fish slices on the two orders. We also tried their specialty eel roll which is served on a very long dish since eels are long? Quality of the fish are quite high and attention to details are there. There are not many tables so it gets crowded. Usually there is a wait so suggest to arrive early (5PM) or use table reservations. They have a cancellation fee if you make table reservation. There is no parking on site so you have paid street parking or paid parking structure near by.
You can find better sushi place. Price is even more expensive than other better sushi restaurants. Sushi Enya doesn’t have variety of fish, it seems like its kain target customer base is not Asian. If you are willing to spend this money and experience better sushi, try Sushi Gen or Hama Sushi. Sushman and clerks are very kind and professional.
The fish is fresh and tastes delicious. The prices are crazy though for the rolls. Almost 30 dollars for one roll. I can get a better roll for cheaper. They are always awkwardly cut too. I come here all the time. I think I’ll just sticks with the crispy rice and albacore sushi pieces. At night they also spray this cleaning solution while cleaning and wrapping up. It’s so overpowering that it’s makes the dining experience terrible. If go ill go before 9.
Fish quality is great really. But this is only worth it if you get nigiri or sashimi and even then I feel it’s a bit expensive for the area. Do not get any rolls because you will be skimped out on sushi. I ordered the rainbow roll and had tiny thin see through pieces, ik they won’t be as big as a sashimi piece but still this is insane because ik a few sushi places in la for slightly cheaper w bigger chunks on the rolls. Sushi enya is not worth it
I am so gross out and cannot believe I ate this. I stop by this morning at 95th location and grab my usual, ice latte and decided to try the lemon cake. It looks so moist and tempting. My first bite it tasted dry, and offer my friend a bite. That’s when I saw it when she was holding it up, the molds under the cake! This is so disgusting and unacceptable. I am hoping we do not experience any health issue consuming this disgusting pastry. This is a serious health issue. It saddens me the food looks perfect on the outside but cannot trust the set up. Do you check the pastries before serving them or throw away the expired ones?!
