Hands-down one of the best no-frills Cantonese spots I’ve ever visited! The staff was super friendly and offered great recommendations, and the dining vibe is bustling and welcoming. The food was fantastic: the BBQ platter had perfectly seasoned & tender meat, the wonton soup featured bouncy & flavorful shrimp filling, and the razor clam with black bean sauce was incredibly fresh with a great chewy texture - the meal was truly comforting. I highly recommend coming with a group to enjoy a variety of dishes.
We found this restaurant in a NY restaurant blog for excellent Chinese duck dishes. And it was correct! This place is busy for take out, but does offer sit down service. The menu offers a full array of traditional Chinese dishes, but the duck and chicken were exceptional. The portions can be shared and if you want rice or veggies, order them as side dishes. We loved this dinning experience in NYC Chinatown.
Came here for a birthday party. I think there were 2 others going on as well. It was a lovely time. The food was delicious and everything was cooked perfectly. I would especially like to give a shout out to the staff who you can tell are working very hard. They are attentive and constantly ensuring the food comes out timely.
If you’re looking for truly authentic Chinese cuisine in Chinatown, this restaurant is a must-visit. Their roast baby pig is absolutely incredible—crispy skin, tender meat, and packed with rich, traditional flavors. It’s easily one of the best versions I’ve ever had. The atmosphere feels genuinely authentic, and the service is warm and efficient. Whether you’re a local or a visitor, this place is worth the stop for a memorable meal.
Wu’s Wonton King is special. It’s that place where parents bring their kids because their grandparents brought them for classic Chinese food. It’s that place where you go with your family - your place - to celebrate a birthday or a milestone where families come together - great grandparents, grandparents, parents, children…for a casual but incredibly meaningful classic dinner. The four immediate large tables in our area were filled with families - lots of children - all well behaved - grandparents- parents, older “kids” with their significant others. Celebrating. Wu’s offers several extraordinary main course items - whole succulent piglet 🐖 $250 which they have hanging in the window - and massive King crab. 🦀 $600 for larger, family style dinners (they said feeds 4-6 but the tables ordering had at least 10 each and there was an abundance of food.) Each of their extraordinary dishes comes out with the servers bringing to the table to view and take photos:) before a procession leads to the kitchen where each dish is prepared at least three different ways and served. After seeing the piglet, we saw a huge platter of buns stuffed with meat, riblets and crispy pork and what appeared to be at least 2 other dishes! All to the delight of the table, especially the children. Grandparents nodded in approval at the piglet, while the adult “kids” put the king crab (fresh out of the tank) around their necks and posed for photos. It’s that kind of special, my father, an immigrant from the islands, would have LOVED it all. And these dishes aren’t even what they are famous for!!! Their specialty is the “Number 1 Wonton Soup” which my dumpling 🥟 and wonton connoisseur BF thought was just “okay!” “above average, but not the BEST” I ordered the crispy noodles with shrimp and vegetables and LOVED it! The noodles were crispy (and still are, the little bit I brought home and just took a bite!) the shrimp 🍤 were super fresh and the snow peas large and bok choy soooo fresh. This place seemed a little pricey, given our journey through Chinatown’s restaurants and this was a little on the outside, more lower east side of Chinatown than deep in the heart of Chinatown. Still the two times we visited, the restaurant had a full house, with people waiting for a table. Also, we only ordered two dishes - total with tip $50 - wonton soup $16 and my crispy noodles $22, with tax and tip $50. They provided tea for our enjoyment. I would go back to celebrate and order the crab, it was casual and clearly a special place for families. My bargain loving BF isn’t as keen :) also, for island families - the whole piglet is a thing. While I don’t eat meat and definitely not piglet, my father and father’s side would have LOVED the piglet. They end your experience a little rectangle of mango jello which I loved! If you are hoping for a glimpse of the traditional family dinner and good, home cooking - go! If more upscale, Din Tai Fung is your thing, this isn’t your place ;) but after you leave your fancy fancy, this is the kind of place you end up, for that little taste of love and home.

Amazing.... Everything was so flavorful. The dine in area looks very small so I'm guessing the wait time to eat in will be long. The staff was friendly and the wait time wasn't long.
Loved the food the ambiance and the service. Wonton soup delicious, as was the beef with broccoli. Will be back and will bring grandkids

I got the garlic half chicken with the fried rice and shrimp rice dumplings. The dumplings were great. The chicken was still a bit red on the inside so I friend refused to have it. Otherwise I enjoyed the food.
It’s cramped, it’s not the best service but the food is awesome. Don’t expect your water to get filled, in fact don’t expect to get anything until you ask for it. And you are but a mere dollar sign, you will feel pressured to leave if you linger after your meal. With that out of the way, the wonton soup was so tasty, the Singapore rice noodle felt a little drier than I’ve previously had at other places but it made up in flavor and healthy amount of egg and pork scattered throughout the noodles. Beef broccoli was so tasty and the beef was surprisingly tender. Would go back again! But I’m not expecting hospitality. Good food is the about all the customer service you’re going to get 😭
Went with a friend for lunch on a very cold day, so not that many people. 2 regular dim sums, I special dim sum, 1 wonton noodle soup, 1 order soup dumplings, and 3 orders lunch specials (bitter melon with beef) to take out, the total is $73 + tips. Very good price. The quality of food is good too!
Mr. Wu's Wonton King is as authentic as it gets! One comes here for the food and not the ambience. This place is ideal for big groups with its massive tables and large portions. It's byob (wine/hard liquor) besides beer which worked out great for us since my friend makes her own wine. Bonus no corking fee! Waiters are busy and clearly not there to chat but get you what you need. The food is delicious and extremely affordable. The menu is a little overwhelming with all of its choices. We ordered the Sauteed Razor Clams, Garlic Aromatic Chicken, Pan Fried Noodle with Beef and Sauteed Snow Peas. They also include complimentary tea and mango pudding. It might seem far being deep down in Chinatown but the F train is literally right outside the door. It's worth checking out. Reservations are recommended.
Great spot away from all the tourists. Food here is always solid to great. Never had a bad dish here, service is always friendly and attentive, dont come here expecting fake smiles though. Favorite dishes here, the Tai ping twin rice noodles, sweet and sour pork ribs, suckling pig, steamed whole fish, west lake beef soup. They’ll also lower the salt content on request to the best of their abilities.
We stopped in because most members of our group wanted the Peking Duck. It was a really good restaurant with good service. Most of the table had the Duck. My girlfriend believed it was good. I had the sesame chicken with broccoli, it was good. In addition we had a seafood stew, black pepper pork chop. We shared everything so the portions were rather large.
This place has your standard Chinese food. I wouldn't say it's amazing but it's good hence the 4 stars. The seafood plates we got were flavorful and not overcooked. The veal chops were soft and had a good amount of flavor The wontons were above average The beef chow fun was probably the worst dish - it was dry and no wok hei The eel was good The fried pork belly was a bit on the dry side
Good service, food is delicious, reasonable prices . We ordered the shrimp with cashews, special fried rice. Both are good. We will order again in the next visit.

All around the food is very good. Known for their roast meats and dumplings in bone broth soup. They also have some dim sum.
I frequented Wu's Wonton King for years. The dumpling soup with bone was delicious! The broth was like no other--amazing. Other dishes were just as tasty. Celebrity chefs would frequent this place.…

The food was okay. Unfortunately, the pricing felt unreasonable for the quality and portion sizes offered. What stood out even more was the excessive number of servers on the floor, which did not translate into better service or a smoother dining experience. To make matters worse, the restaurant mandates a tip of more than 15%. Tipping should reflect the customer’s experience, not be enforced at an inflated rate. It’s also worth noting that this is New York City, where there are many comparable restaurants offering the same level of food quality at more reasonable prices and without restrictive policies. Given the competition, the current pricing and tipping policy do not seem sustainable.
I came here recently in a group of 11 for a celebration. We made reservations in advance, but we still had to wait around 15 minutes for our table.\n\nThe staff were heavily promoting the set menu,…

Took the family to NYC (from NJ) yesterday to check out Bryant Park and the tree. Thereafter, we trekked down to Chinatown and stopped by Mei Lai Wah for some pork buns (they moved locations by the way - nice and clean now). Got to Wu's at 7:25 and the place was very busy, our party of 5 was told that there was a one hour wait. Fair enough, we waited... Service was great, Peking Duck was sold out nearly three hours prior - had I known, I would not have waited and gone somewhere else. Waiter suggested roast duck, we also ordered shrimp and cashew nuts, beef chow fun, general Tso's, and hot and sour soup. Duck - very oily, no flavor. Shrimp - excellent - mild flavor but was well prepared so that helped. General Tso's - was very good - ordered sauce on the side so the kids could sample the heat at their own rate. Hot and sour soup - acceptable. Beef chow fun - awful, somehow it smelled like an ashtray. I tried to eat it but it had zero flavor and the cigarette smell was overwhelming. It must have been cooked in burnt oil. Overall, i did not choose to say anything to the waiter as the service was very good and I won't be coming back. One day we will find a Chinese restaurant that is as good as I remember when growing up.
They put two people in our table without asking us if it was okay. We were uncomfortable sharing a table and eating with strangers that we don't know and one of them keep blowing his nose. This turn me off completely and I couldn't enjoy my meal any longer. The prices has gone off the roof in the restaurant recently. A whole duck cost 40.99 without tax. The only things that is affordable is the lunch specials but they serve half a portion. This was one of my favorite restaurant but they changed so much lately that it is one of the worst restaurant on my list. I will think twice before I visit again. The owner need to stop being so greedy by overcharging. There are many restaurant in Chinatown or Queens that serve better foods at better prices.

The food was decent and the portions were generous. However, the overall experience left a bad impression. We packed all our leftovers, but one fried rice was missing. We returned to the restaurant the next day to ask about it, but they denied everything and offered no help or apology. Another red flag: even though we paid by credit card, the staff repeatedly pushed us to pay in cash, which felt very uncomfortable and unprofessional. Between the missing food and the awkward payment pressure, we definitely won’t be coming back.
