Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen is always a reliable choice when you’re craving bold, crispy fried chicken. The chicken has that signature crunchy coating with juicy meat inside, and the seasoning brings a little Louisiana-style kick. The chicken sandwich is especially satisfying — crispy, flavorful, and simple in the best way. And those buttery biscuits? Hard to resist. It’s fast, filling, and consistently hits the spot when you want comfort food with a bit of spice.
Went there during jury duty at 26th & California. Good: Service was relatively quick considering the large influx of customers at once time and they staff was very nice. Food was great (tenders & mashed potatoes). Bad: The menu did not list tenders or any sandwiches so you didn't know what you were paying for until you went to pay. Tender combo was $11.50 w/tax. The eating are was a little dirty looking and no one cleaned any tables during the time I was there and they had no A/C.
Good place for fried chicken by far our family most favorite place to go for fried chicken. But I'm given them 4 stars for the fact that every time I go and get chicken they always give you very limited hot sauce and honey. Like 4 hot sauce and 4 honey packages for 2 orders of 16 piece family deal.
Unlike some other locations, this one has quite a few seats. Also note though, that there is NO PUBLIC RESTROOM. They also do not have a drive-thru. For a location point of reference, it is roughly across the street from Cook County Jail. First off, it was clean and orderly. It was around 6:00 p.m. or so on a Sunday, and quite busy. I ordered the new fish sandwich and it took awhile. It finally arrived nice and hot, and looked and smelled really great. At first, it tasted great too --- fresh, with a nice crunch and soft flaky texture on the inside. It also had just the right amount spice and sauce. But after a few bites, I discovered it was only lukewarm in the middle and not thoroughly cooked! While the staff was polite, apologetic, and responsive when I took it back to the counter, customer service could have been better. Generally, a complimentary drink or side is offered in situations like this. At least that is what I have experienced in other businesses. Anyway, second attempt was fully cooked and fine. There needs to be more training on food safety AND customer satisfaction!
It was released sketchy because everyone was looking at us and the chicken and French fries were green some part and the chicken was not cooked well. The floor was dirty the table for dirty.

Food order was taken, we ordered almost $200 worth of food. They took almost 30 mins to get it put together. Tied our bags with knots, upon arrival they had given is the wrong flavor on the wings and shorter us 3 large sides. They had one job.
I felt I waited to long. I am very cautious of my environment. And I must say it was slow(customer wise) finished purchasing my sandwich at 6:55 received it at 7:13. If it was busy I'd totally understand. But for the few customers and amount of employees I seen working in the back. I just don't understand. Keep in mind. Notice how i have nothing bad to say about the food,It was nice n hot.
ALWAYD CHECK YOUR FOOD BEFORE YOU LEAVE On two separate occasions they have either missed items or gave me the wrong items. You can call them, because the number on the website is not in service. Tried reaching out via their app & the app freezes when you try to upload a picture. I don't drive so getting 30 minutes on the bus is tiring. . So please check your food. I paid for items I didn't get

Worst one I've been too. Won't be going back. Service was decent but the chicken wasn't fresh

Slow as heck. They had 3 people waiting in line for over 30 minutes JUST TO ORDER! They closed off the extended dining area and bathrooms. A lone employee sat in the closed off area eating. The menu seemed limited so I ended up taking a chance by ordering online. 30 minutes later and a small order of surf n' turf, fries and red beans and rice still wasn't ready. I was in this place over an hour from the moment I entered to when I received my food. Do not patronize this place on your break because you'll regret it. If you do...*ALWAYS DO AN ONLINE ORDER 30 MINUTES AHEAD OF YOU GOING TO PICK IT UP!* The food itself was meh compared to what you'd typically expect from Popeyes. The chicken was rubbery which was disappointing. The tartar sauce was the most lackluster I've ever had. At least the biscuit was super buttery. There were only three people working the entire restaurant which honestly I've seen White Castles run more efficiently with three employees along with plenty of other small local restaurants so that's not a good excuse. This is just a poorly run Popeyes...the worst run I've ever seen. The employee door having evidence of being kicked in was probably from angry customers. Some customers were just about ready to kick the door in themselves just so they could make their own food. The cherry on top is that after all of that time...they still forgot the dipping sauce for my chicken tenders!
Rude service . Employees try to add ice to all drinks just to save on food cost . When asks for Cajun sparkle they barely give you 2 packets even if you ordered a large meal. I was told I could not upgrade my drink to a medium drink. Funny thing is online you can do it for .30 cents more . One customer tried to get 3 wings but was told no. She was told that she would have to get leg things too. They are always out of something. If to not fries it’s biscuits or coke drink. I think the management should do a better job job.

The door was locked by 9:45pm even though I could see employees in there and plenty of orders on the counter they refused to acknowledge me and two other people picking up. this is terrible service and unprofessional....I live in the area and have never stepped foot in here because I figured it would not be a nice place.I was right.

Many drinks unavailable. No gravy for the mashed potatoes. Three people working the lunch rush. It took 20 minutes to get my order. Others had similar wait times. If I could give them a half star or zero I would. Recommend avoid at costs. Period. Worst dinning possible.
Placed an order online for pickup. Arrived and they didn't have my order in their system. Bummer, but that happens sometimes. However, despite me showing the receipt and the bank statement reflecting the purchase, they didn't even do anything to help = / We ended up contacting customer support and our case is pending. Feels really bad to have to go to such lengths over a $30 meal.

All I can say is always check your orders before leaving. I had to make two trips to this location because they forgot some of my items the first time around. The sad part was right after they corrected it for me and actually fixed it they proceeded to mess up another order I placed. The second time I went by I placed an order of one of the big bundles and they missed a three piece. At that point I just accepted defeat and didn’t waste my time again going back to have it done right. Unfortunately the only thing they seem to be consistent with is getting orders wrong😩. To top it all off when addressing the issue through the app I am offered no option for a refund just a simple credit….. had to change my review to one star just because of how difficult it is to get someone to make my situation right. Went back to accept the sad excuse at making it right with a credit and it got lowered soooo now I’m being offered less for a mistake this store made instead of an outright refund or even an actual person to discuss this with.
If you ever wanna place an order here do it before 9pm they close at 11 but they stop making food at 930 to clean. Corporate please handle this matter when you see this thank you
The chicken was dry, portions are small, their ice tea is too sweet, the tables were dirty and the customer service of one of the ladies was terrible, no eye contact, no smile, no words. But the gentleman who took care of me at the cash register was more professional. Will no come back to this place.
It took a while to order and the gentlemen outside kept asking me if I was a GD. Whatever that is. Would not recommend.
I have tried calling the BBB on this location, so many times! I work near by and sometimes this is the only option for lunch. I have never been pleased neither has my coworkers. One time, I placed an online order and arrived to pick up my order, I was informed that they ran out of chicken, NO fountain drinks, only sides that they have are fries and the list continued. I ask for a manager and she came and spoke with me, there was no discounts given, no apologies, nothing! I really do not understand why this location is STILL OPEN!
I went in and ordered a 35 box of fried chicken with fries and sides. I arrived home and realized that from that 35 piece box I only received 18 pieces. I can say that the food wasn’t cheap and I am very disappointed to find out that great restaurants that people go to get cheated on and robbed from their own money!
Im assuming these Popeyes employees get paid to have an attitude especially the girl working on register 11.09.25 , 9pm…. Honestly I just didn’t want her taking my order I left
Who ever is managing this morning made the store lose 10 customers because the food they had is only for mobile orders. A guy wanted just fries and a soda and she said it was still for online only
Check your orders! Numerous times I have not received my full order. Missing pieces of chicken. They need to learn how to count.

Order Popeyes from this location through Uber. The first order was cancelled on Uber’s end so I reordered for pick up when I hit there they claim they gave both my orders to two separate drivers. Mind you one was cancelled and the other was place in for me to pick up. They didn’t try to rectify the situation even after seeing my pick up order was still active and open. Unfortunately Uber didn’t do anything to help neither. Hours later I see that I was still charged for my order. The restaurant staff claim they could cancel on their end or help me with my order even though they knew I was still going to be charged either way. I am very disappointed in this location and will no longer go. I’m also canceling Uber because they did nothing to help but still took my money.
