We recently stumbled upon this gem and wow, what a gem it is. The food is insanely good. The staff is so kind. You can tell this is a family run place and they really care about the food and experience. We had the chicken shawarma plate, cauliflower plate, both super good. The chicken is unreal. Oh and the falafel is AMAZING. Possibly the best I’ve ever had. It comes on a plate with hummus and these zucchini slices that are out-of-this-world good. The salad was great, and the baklava for dessert, also delicious. The space is great. Lots of parking. Did I mention how nice the staff is?? 10/10 recommend.
The Mediterranean dishes are very authentic and delicious. The prices are not "cheap" but affordable. The menu is quite varied with many options beyond normal Mediterranean fare. The portions were large but we so enjoyed the appetizers we ordered. The atmosphere is calm and very pleasant. Classical chamber music plays softly in the background so conversation is easy. There was not a long wait for food which was nice, but was good enough had there been a wait. I'd highly recommend this place and would enjoy it again when in town.
Small, casual establishment with very good food. Mediterranean style menu with plenty of choices. I had the Beyti Kebab which was enough for 2. Absolutely delicious! Definitely a hidden gem.
Pom & Olive has some of the best Mediterranean food in the area! The dolmades were truly unlike any I've had before, in the best way. Chicken shish kabob was so flavorful- seasoned perfectly and had a really nice charred taste. The staff were super friendly and attentive and gave great service. The restaurant has an overall really peaceful energy and great ambiance. 10/10 recommend New! More ways to react
Hands down best Mediterranean food I had in socal. Salmon was marinated amazingly, and everything was fresh, tasty and fast. Definitely coming back!
Delicious Mediterranean food with amazing flavor and generous portions. Everything was delicious, satisfying, and great value for the price. Highly recommend!
We had the most delightful experience dining here. Everything tasted delicious and the owner was very kind and attentive. If you are craving Mediterranean food and are near the Newport pier area, I would definitely recommend this spot. My leftovers even tasted delicious the second day. We ordered some chicken and salmon plates as well as the appetizers shown in the picture. I loved the food so much! Best restaurant food I’ve had in a while. The atmosphere was very calm, they had some Andrea Bocelli concerts playing on the TV. Nice vibe and excellent taste. Definitely want to go back!
One of the best Mediterranean restaurants I’ve ever been to! The food is excellent. Very fresh and high quality ingredients. Service is attentive and friendly.
Anybody near hoag Newport needs to go here. We started with the combination plate and the samosas, marinated olives and baba ganoush were the standouts of the plate. The dolmas were served warm and were cooked very well. I really like my beef koobideh kebab as it was so juicy and tender it fell apart. The interesting one was the Iskender kebab. The sauce was very fresh. Excited to go back
Was craving for beyti kebab and finally found a place to get one and it was actually very delicious! Don’t forget to try their baklava as well. Will definitely visit again
Wonderful place for a casual meal. Great selection of Mediterranean dishes. Had the Falafel and hummus starter and the mixed olives, both were excellent. Service is friendly and prompt.
This is the cutest family-owned restaurant with the most delicious food. The service was fantastic, and the food was incredible. The menu is a really nice array of Mediterranean and Middle Eastern cuisine. I tried the chicken kebab plate with fattoush. Prices are also very affordable. Highly recommend and I will definitely return!

Great food and right across the street from Hoag Newport. The sauce on the lamb wrap was amazing.
Wow! We stumbled upon this lovely gem today, and we're so pleasantly surprised by how delicious, fresh and authentic the food was! We have another local favorite Mediterranean restaurant that we usually go to, but I think we might be coming here more often. We had the lamb Shawarma platter which was delicious. The lamb was well-seasoned and tender. I wish there was a little bit more of the lamb though. The portion seemed a bit smaller than it looked in photos from the menu. It also came in more of a boat type bowl, not a platter, which might be why the portions were smaller. The other dish that we had was a delicious and spicy beef with rice and an amazing thick yogurt. Wow! Not only did it look amazing, but the taste did not dissapoint! We love spicy food, but we have never had a spicy Mediterranean dish before, so it was perfect for our liking. The very nice lady who took our order was very lovely and helpful with our questions about the menu. Service was prompt, courteous and professional. Our food came out rather quickly, so we were very happy with that, as we had a time crunch. Btw, this place a little tricky to find, but don't give up. It's worth it! We are definitely visiting here again soon and often!

Taking care of my mom across the street at Hoag Hospital and decided to walk here. Delicious Chicken Shawarma plate and glass of Pinot Grigio⚡️💕🔥
My brotha and I were looking for a good local Mediterranean spot and we found this beauty of a restaurant. The service was amazing, ambiance was impeccable and the food was DELICIOUS. 10/10 would recommend this restaurant to anyone looking for high quality authentic Mediterranean food. This is my new go to!!
The best authentic food I’ve had in a long time. I’m not a falafel person (I find them dry and a little bland), so when I say, “You have to get the falafel here!” - you know it’s something special. The chicken kabob was cooked perfectly. Anyone who loves Mediterranean food should eat here.
Wow. Had some truly special food here. The Koobideh was juicy, and almost perfect. It was served with a little spicy aioli that brought the whole dish to another level. The babaghanoush had some lovely balsamic that elevated it elegantly and the Tzatziki had pickles instead of cucumbers and it was the best I’ve tasted. My wife had pita fries and they were genius and delicious. Do not leave without trying the saffron pistachio and/or pomegranate/chocolate ice cream. Service and ambiance were matched to the food, just right.
This place is amazing, great food and very friendly staff. I rarely leave reviews but felt compelled because I am craving the chicken shawarma and baklava. Places like this are few and far between!
I am staying with a family member at Hoag Hospital across the street and decided to break for lunch. Ordered a koobedeh wrap. Literally the best sandwich I have ever eaten. Full of flavors every bite was like a new flavor emerging. I would give it 10 stars if I could! Will be coming back for sure!

Delicious Mediterranean food off the beaten path. We we’re only ones in there at lunchtime on a Saturday. Food was served promptly and had good portions, service was friendly. We came here because my brother wanted beef kebabs and they used filet mignon which was very tender and flavorful. Disappointed that it did not have bell peppers but a personal preference as opposed to the sliced zucchini on it. Fattoush salad was fresh and had a perfect amount of dressing, it had bread sticks instead of the usual torn up pita but they were crunchy and yummy. Protein options for salads included falafel, these were a bit too hard, maybe overcooked. Hummus was good, nothing fancy and asked for more pita bread. Olive appetizer was fantastic, with one side marinated with carrots and other was like a pesto sauce on them. Cucumber salad was disappointing as we like it mixed together with the tomatoes and onions. This was slice up on top of each other. Pretty plated but our preference was mixed. Overall a good place to enjoy a meal that is tucked away from the main harbor and Lido island restaurants.
Ordered the boneless chicken kebab, veggie combo and deep fried pita bread. Good flavour, big portions. A cheap & cheerful place for a quick feed waiting at the hospital!

Very nice people but food was not good. Ordered the trio appetizer. The hummus and babaganoush were, and I promise I’m not exaggerating, the worst I’ve ever had. Absolutely no flavor and I don’t think there were any eggplants in the babaganoush. The pita did not taste fresh and seemed warmed up in the microwave because it was inedible after 20 seconds. The chicken shish kabob and the lamb chops with not too bad. Lamb was a little too raw but good flavor. The rice tasted old and I didn’t bother tasting the salad. Very disappointing when so many high reviews. Makes you questions if they are real.
