The food was delicious. Best brussel sprouts I've ever had! Going to a restaurant within a hotel is awkward, there was a long walk from the parking lot and the bathroom is out in the lobby. Service was good.
Excellent food tonight at Camp! The server Tara was extremely accommodating. Northern states do not understand much about the importance of sweet tea to those from the South. Tara went above and beyond to meet the needs of our party and mixed up sweet tea for me. Andrew was nice and shared details about the restaurant and the buffet. Thank you for the only place in the area who offered real southern vegetables.
Came here for an early lunch on a Tuesday in February and the place was completely empty. Despite looking closed, we were sat and had a solid meal. My group all had sandwiches - french dip, fried haddock and a burger. All were fresh and delicious. Fries seemed house made and were perfectly crisped. Lunch prices were similar to the Foggy Goggle at the base, so it's odd more people don't come here mid-day. Server/host was a quirky funny Mainer. Last season we visited for the breakfast buffet and had a similar experience. A seemingly hidden gem.
The burger is amazing! I could eat here everyday.
Just had lunch at The Camp. Holy moly it was so good!!!
Cool spot. Good vibe, good food. Average service
Delicious food, attentive and frie ndly staff. Love the atmosphere and decor.
Breakfast has a large selection of different options. They offer lunch and dinner too.
Good food and service. Felt safe with the seating.
Only had breakfast here but it was outstanding!
The food was great and the atmosphere was lively. There was a minor issue with the service and the manager handled things swiftly and with grace. I've literally never experienced a more professional and customer-driven experience in my life. THIS is how a service industry should behave. Six stars if I could. Thank you!
We were a group of 8 and had a great experience here! The food was excellent, our server was friendly and attentive. The menu was interesting and had something for everyone. Would recommend!
Really nice restaurant. The whole belly clams were delicious and the portion was quite large. Excellent chowder and monkfish. Friendly service. Would definitely return!
Corey at the bar provided great customer service. We at here multiple times during our stay, one time we got a young guy waiter who you can tell serving isn't his calling but we still had a wonderful meal that day. Prices are what we would expect for a resteraunt at a ski resort, but it's worth it, everyone enjoyed their food and we ate here multiple times. Breakfast is excellent!
Had a great dinner with friends here recently and the staff was great. I enjoyed the slow roasted chicken this time and it was delicious. Brianna was a great server, Lulu, Max and the rest of the support staff were excellent as well. The entire dining room was packed and not one frown to be seen I think everyone there enjoyed their experience as much as we did ! Will come back soon.
We stopped in for a quick breakfast 5/21 and the food and service were incredible. I wish I remembered the name of our server but he was incredible (had a beard and a great personality). We'll be back because of the food and how great that server was!
The cook tina is amazing she is the best up there she always is a very good worker and good cook you should always give her the tip too tina the cooks always appreciate a tip there the ones that work the hardest and. Make your food
Great place to grab a delicious meal and some cocktails. The bartender was great and provided us with the best service. Brussel sprouts are amazing!
Fantastic dinner for four. Corey took great care of us at the table and made some great suggestions for the leftovers! Will have breakfast there tomorrow
Great option for breakfast, lunch or dinner. Tasty food and large portions. Awesome service and a great option with ski in , ski out service most of the year.
Great restaurant. Sunday river had a gathering for employees. They definitely know how to cook.
Clean, great food, wonderful staff, we had Thanksgiving dinner also, excellent experience.
Great atmosphere. Not fancy but comfortable. Great for the end of a day of skiing.
Just had dinner at camp we had the onion soup, which was excellent. Best onion soup I’ve ever had. It wasn’t just all broth. The bread and cheese was in a unique way. I’d never had before. The salad was also delicious. Very big lightly dressed the burger was perfectly cooked to order, and the roasted chicken was also cooked perfectly very moist, not dried out at all compliments to the chef and staff
We have been owners at Sunday River since 1984 at Cascades, 1994 at Summit and 1998 at Jordan. We currently still have our original place at Summit. This year we decided to do our family Thanksgiving Dinner at Camp at the Summit. I just want to say that Jeff at Camp and Bryan at the front desk helped make a possibly bad situation turn into an amazing experience for me and my family. The food was incredible and we can’t wait till next year. Thank You!!
100% would recommend CAMP!! The service and the food is worth way more than 5 stars. We celebrated Thanksgiving here and the food selections were vast. I’d recommend CAMP any day of the year. Their staff and management went above and beyond!
Totally amazing Thanksgiving buffet! Lovely waitstaff and host/hostesses. The gent cutting the primo prime rib was funny and warm!
Very good place to eat at Sunday River but I thought the food was overpriced. I would have preferred more simple foods at the ski resort. Ive been coming to Sunday River for years and I thought the service was slower than usual. I ate breakfast daily and 2 dinners there. Breakfast buffet was ok for the price they charge. Would go back again as its very convenient when staying at the hotel.
Corey was great - I feel bad that dude has to deal with people from GRC conferences all day. The food was pretty good - I ordered the meat loaf and a burger. Drinks were a little weak, I like stiff cocktails.
We had been looking forward to trying Camp and we were excited to finally ski over for lunch. The atmosphere was warm and rustic, the service was friendly, and the food was solid—exactly what you’d hope for after a morning on the slopes. Prices are definitely on the higher side, which is understandable given the location. We paid $220 (with a 20% tip) for three of us to grab a light lunch. However, one frustrating experience put a damper on an otherwise great meal. As an annual pass holder, I realized we didn’t get our discount — something our server never asked about, and unfortunately, we didn’t remember until after paying. When we brought it up just a few minutes later, the manager told us there was nothing he could do since the check was already closed. While I understand policies are in place for a reason, it was disappointing that there was no flexibility to adjust for a simple oversight, especially at a resort where many guests are loyal season pass holders. Sunday River would be smart to take a page out of the Disney Resort’s playbook: always ask customers if they are pass holders or other type of loyalty member. Annnd…if for some reason an employee doesn’t ask and the guest forgets to mention their status, make the necessary adjustment to the bill - especially if it’s only minutes after the transaction was complete. A quick mention from the staff when presenting the check—just a “Are you a pass holder?”—could help others avoid the same issue in the future. It’s a small touch that would go a long way in making pass holders feel valued and encourage non-pass holders to become one! Cynics could make the argument that Sunday River intentionally trains their employees NOT to ask about discounts so they could make more money. No matter where you go on the mountain, you’re never asked about discounts despite the fact that the 10% dining discount is prominently displayed with every level of pass holder benefits on their website! That said, I’d still recommend Camp for its convenient ski in/out access off the mountain, cozy setting and good food—just be aware of the price point and be sure to ask for your pass holder discount before you pay!
Amazing food. Personable service. Lighting too bright and a bit loud.
Great atmosphere. Comfortable. Delicious food. Very pricey.
Not bad, considering there is not too many open dine-ins in the area
We booked through OpenTable and we're pleasantly surprised on arrival to find a well developed and beautiful resort dedicated to skiing on the slopes behind it, but also offering a Thanksgiving Buffet, which is what brought us there. The bar is beautiful, the lobby sumptuous and huge with a gorgeous seating area around an enormous gas fireplace. The buffet left a bit to be desired as the flavors were bland, the turkey was extremely dry (you were able to request dark meat but had to wait for it to come out, and even it was dry) but the fish and shrimp were fresh and tasty. The waitstaff we're attentive and the seating was comfortable, though why we were seated in the bar when we had a reservation for the buffet dinner left a little to the imagination. They were not full in the restaurant when we arrived, and when I asked for a table in the restaurant instead of the bar I was told they were "reserved". I had a reservation so I'm not sure what he meant by that, unless they offer double super secret reservation seating. Anyway, the ambiance was wonderful, the service good, but the food was meh.
This is early season before the winter rush. The menu was pretty limited and they were out of the only steak option. Brussel sprout appetizer was phenomenal. Decor is nice but showing signs of wear. A refresh on chairs might be nice. Dessert selection was also slim so we opted out. Sure miss their s’mores bread pudding! If you’re on the mountain, not a bad choice but no wow factor.
Pricey like any resort restaurant. Bison bolognese was excellent as was salad. Companion and I split each. Full disclosure-I am a volunteer with Sunday River.
Loved this place the service was awesome Nancy was the best. It would be nice if they had actual espresso for their martinis and if the chicken on the chicken Cesar salad was hot but hey, minor suggestions to an overall great night.
Food was cold but the waitstaff was great! Cool atmosphere. Food was tasty, and would have been good if warm!
Stayed in the hotel and ate here 3 different times because of convenience. The service was sub par and once the waitress takes your order, they disappear. Clam chowder was cold and rest of food was mehhh . Breakfast bar was ok
Nice atmosphere and staff. Brussel sprouts for an appetizer with a beer was very good. But disappointing menu for dinner.
Service was great, food was not. I got the Winter Panzanella salad with steak added in. The steak was super rare and charred. I spent more time cutting all the contents of the salad into bite size pieces than actually eating. Hot chocolate was great, but it's hard to mess that up. Super expensive for less than satisfactory food. My family and I are never going back.
Wasn’t acknowledged for over 25 minuets by the waitstaff after being seated. Had to get up and ask for someone to help us, poutine was cold had ask another waitress to heat it up. Our waiter didn’t come check on us at all, and had to get up and ask for the check. Restaurant had about 5 tables and multiple waitstaff. I’d expect better service. I respect all that restaurant workers have to do, but this was a terror. Drinks were good though.
Good food, very nice place, but exceptionally slow and terrible service. We waited 70(!) minutes for the food. Check in advance how long it will take...
Just left here. Had a terrible espresso martini that looked curdled and was told that was normal and that’s how they all look. Bartender was rude. On a day when the mountain is on wind hold it would be nice to have pleasant service at the bar at lunch time. Won’t be going back.
If we could give this restaurant zero stars, we would. The food was absolutely horrible. My husband and son were so looking forward to a prime rib and it was ice cold and raw. They also never received the AU jus that it’s supposed to come with, according to the menu Me and my mother-in-law got the baked haddock that was supposed to have seafood stuffing on it but instead it just had a sprinkle of breadcrumbs and it was also raw and are green beans were raw, the au gratin potatoes that came with it we’re so soaked in grease and butter that we couldn’t even eat them. The service was terrible. Our plan was to take our food home and re-cook it so when the waitress asked us if we wanted it wrapped, we said yes she collected our plates and then came back with one empty container for my husband’s food. Our minds were blown. She literally threw away five full plates of food that we wanted to try to salvage seeing that the cheapest plate was $35. Seeing that not one person ate any of their food you would think the waitress would’ve asked if everything was OK but apparently she didn’t care because I’m sure the looks on our faces said million words. Such a sad and disappointing evening. We went there to celebrate a late Christmas with my in-laws who live out of town, and the experience was so disappointing.
Had the salad with the steak tips add on. Tips were grizzly, bland and cooked terribly. Whoever it is that calls himself a chef back there should at least know that to cook a steak you need high heat for a nice sear. This person must have missed that class.
Food(dinner) was absolutely horrible 1. The soup was cold 2. Mashed potatos had no flavor. 3. The haddock was so over cooked. Breakfast buffet was not much better. But edible. They def need some better quality control with their food products before the dish it out. Both my wife and I felt this way and I always try to give a restaurant the benefit of the doubt but the quality of this food was not good at all.
New Year eve 4 of us had reservations atmosphere was great waited for our food for over hour or so people that came in after us got there food first. Waiter kept for getting to get us drinks . Food finally came up it was horrible spinach was crunchy like there was sand in it that was a prime rib dinner and there prices was very high . Never will recommend this place .
*NOT gluten free friendly or accommodating!! asked for a gluten free grilled cheese for my toddler - chef came back incredibly rude saying yes he has gluten free bread and cheese but will NOT make a grilled cheese because it’s not on the menu.
If I could give it zero stars I would. Food was not edible. Service was slow and the prices were absolutely ridiculous. Save yourself the aggravation and don’t go….EVER!!!!
