Heard about the soft opening and I’m here for it! Love the new menu!! Had the Pray 4 Me burger that beat Bobby Flay and I can see why. It comes with tastiest fries. Love the little bit of cole slaw in the burger. It’s very balanced. It’s hard to stop eating the fries. Also ordered the Brussels Sprouts and it was expertly done. Very fresh and delicious. This new spot is so chic. I love the period details. Long bar. I can see this place quickly become the new “it” / destination spot.

UPDATE: MOVED TO OAKLAND JACK LONDON SQUARE OPENING END OF MARCH 2025!! Sadly, I did not catch the owner's name. However , I will say her food is delightful! Tonight I enjoyed the chicken fried steak with the sides of Mashed potatoes and colored greens with a corn bread that comes with the meal. It comes with three sides however and corn bread. Josh is a treat in himself that made my night. I am impressed. I hope this place brings many smiles to many people like it did to mine. I will be back! Went back and again everything was delicious! Honestly, everything here is so delicious I am truly blown away! MAC AND CHEESE IS GARLICKY, YUM! Since stopping eating meat, I have from slim time to time missed burgers, I was raised a carnivore, anyway may have been just the night that I went and received my burger from here but I thought without a doubt, I was sinking My teeth into a mc double from mcdonald's. I was so blown away with happiness oh my, I do not know a single person that has eaten meat that does not enjoy a mc double from mcdonald's. This is no put down whatsoever! However, that was only 2 of my bites of my burger that tasted without a doubt, 100% identical and the authentic taste of this tottaly vegan burger in itself is genuinely delightful. I really meant no harm in my comment.It was honestly such a nostalgic feeling that brought me so much joy, I really hope you all take the best from this.

New spot in Martinez. Came with friends and was pleasantly surprised. Limited menu but full of flavor. Treat yourself to the hot water cornbread. Servic seemed a tad slow and some items were missing from orders. After several reminders the missing portions were promised.

Everything was sensational!!! This is my new favorite spot. I got the ain’t gator Poe boy with fries, greens and the Mac and cheese and it was so good I forgot to take a picture. I also got the strawberry ginger drink but I forgot to take a picture. The pecan cake and the lemon cake were on point. The owner was there and she was super nice and so was the rest of the staff. I’ll be telling everyone I know that didn’t already know to go here. Thank you!!! Added more pictures, I took some of the fam there and they loved it.

Yas yasss and more yas. I've been wanting to go here for years and finally got to go on a Sunday for brunch. We arrived before the big crowds came in. Completely overwhelmed, even with just the brunch menu. Everything from brunch to their full menu will make your mouth water. We got a big spread and shared, mostly. Hard to share when everything is so good. My fried chickun and waffle was bomb. Yum crispy and well seasoned. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Highly recommend.

All i can say is i went back for seconds and if you’re looking for delicious vegan soul food this is the spot. I saw reviews complaint about saltiness or this and that and i didn’t experience and of that. It was a wonderful experience with a cute dining area and bar with delicious unforgettable food.

Wife and I really enjoyed the Thanksgiving buffet during our honeymoon visit to town. All of the offerings were great and both of us really enjoyed the black eyed peas. The oxtails with the gravy was my favorite, a bit colder than I would have preferred but still fantastic. Candied yams were also great. We were slightly confused as to where we received and disposed of our plates, as well as the ticket system but we figured it out. Appreciate the casual atmosphere & everyone was very friendly. Thanks for offering this option.

I love the food at Souley Vegan! My first experience was at the Martinez location and then I found out that location closed, so I was really happy that they relocated to Jack London Sq. For brunch, we enjoyed the country fried steak plate and bowl of the gumbo. Everything was delicious. Seating was kind of confusing (no stationed host and no sign to seat ourselves). There were only two staff on the floor so it took awhile for them to notice us and seat us, even though there were plenty of open tables. There was a woman staff member who was so nice and lovely when she had time to check on us, but she seemed kind of frazzled because she could have used more support. I hope they are able to hire more front of house staff. As I was eating, I could tell that incoming customers were confused and kind of annoyed while they waited to be seated. The music selection was GREAT! But the music volume was SO loud. My ears kind of hurt and it was so hard to hear my friend. My friend and I mostly ate in silence because it was too much of a pain to try to have a conversation. That was kind of a disappointment. Overall, the food is really good and worth it. But, from now on, I'm just going to order food to-go.

We were there Saturday for the "soft opening". The new location at 101 Broadway is very nice, the trains going by on The Embarcadero add a little extra to the location! Since it was the first day open they had to work through a lot with the new everything. There are too many tables in the front bar area to make seating more than 2 people at a 4-6 person table comfortable. Some of the Menu items were not available but, we were informed by the host soon after the order went in and we ordered something else. Another difference is the menu and payment are all electronic (QR Code at your table). Bring your smart phone and plastic or payment App. Also, it would be nice to have the Staff familiar with the WiFi and password available to the customers? As a suggestion to the owners, perhaps they could have a printed menu and cash payment options?

I liked the taste of the food better when the atmosphere was less fancy, before they took time away and moved, they had better selection and more flavor. . . It's probably a better business style now, but it used to have more Soul!

Food was decent but not particularly great, in my opinion. Based on other reviews I expected it to be better. The only thing that I really liked was the BBQ tofu. But this place was packed the entire time we were here so maybe it's just not my type of food. Staff are very friendly and helpful. The live music was great but too loud to be able to maintain a conversation even when we were at the farthest possible table from the stage.

Rosie is sweet, ordered the combo plate w black eye peas + yams+ collards, gator bites, and spaghetti Cajun. didn't finish my plate but I left full... of disappointment. rice was burnt, collards was overly seasoned, only finished the zucchini on the spaghetti Cajun, and the yams.

I will not come here again. The food is disappointing and disgusting. The music is so loud I could not hear my friend talking. The carpet smells the chairs smells and honestly the food is disgusting. I will not return here. Please save your time and money and your well-being. I read the reviews and she does walk like a penguin.

I was really disappointed with my experience here. I wasn’t expecting vegan food to feel like a “fast food” experience, but unfortunately that’s what it was. I ordered the country steak plate, and it was not what I had hoped for — the “steak” tasted more like a fried bread patty than a hearty main dish. The mashed potatoes were decent and had acceptable flavor, but the kale had an odd, perfume-like scent and taste that I couldn’t get past. I was also surprised at how heavy and high-calorie the food felt, which isn’t what I expected from a vegan restaurant. On top of that, the restaurant itself looked like it was still in the process of being set up. There was no waiter — we had to serve ourselves water, and all food orders were placed through a QR code. What really felt absurd was being asked to leave a tip for a waiter that didn’t exist. Overall, the whole experience fell short of my expectations.
