Stopped here for a quick snack around 6:45 pm. It was busy. They took orders in the drive thru as usual, but had people pull around to the front of the store so they could keep service moving. Had one mishap with my order, but the manager Brenda came out and made sure I was taken care of. She is trying her best to run a well oiled machine and it needs to be appreciated. Thank you, Brenda!
The staff at this location are so very helpful and run the restaurant at busy times like a well oiled machine. I made sure to compliment the Manager!

Great burgers. Got a doubl eq9thout the bun to stay on keto diet and it was great. No napkins or utensils however so I made a mess in the car!

This best food value in Houston. This whataburger has a different feeling, being close to Montrose. The customers are more friendly and open. Its a great time.
The line was short. It was late. The A line went more quickly than the B line. I’m not sure why. But the lady was nice.

Ordering from the app ahead of time is awesome! Staff are always super nice. Also, the only restaurant chain in the Universe where you are 100% guaranteed to receive hot fries! (Note, if you hail from a far away place, maybe toss some ketchup on your burger. They only come with mustard and it’s an acquired taste for some.) The ketchup is so good you can buy it in grocery stores!
Great punctual staff, they run a tight ship and do right by the customers. The lady in charge holds everyone accountable. I am definitely satisfied with my experience and I see why this location has so many awards. Keep up the good work team!
Britney was amazing! Very kind and welcoming and was training someone at the same time. Her positivity really made me happy to see and the energy from the manager working with his team was also great to see happy environment and clean. Fresh hot food!
This was one of the well taken care of Whataburgers that I’ve visited and can state that their customer service was phenomenal! From the cashier, Nehemiah, having such care for his customers to help them with their orders and even assisting with giving me the restroom code to enter, even up to the Manager, Ms. Francis, taking it upon herself to go above and beyond and allowing me to get my phone charged in an alternate wall outlet as the one that was in the dining area was already taken. Mind you, this was during Thanksgiving and she was an extreme blessing to me specially with low battery and needing to charge my phone while I ate! Awesome team this Whataburger has and a great place to sit back and enjoy a meal. Again, thank you so much Ms. Francis, you did an awesome and outstanding job in helping your customers who are dedicated to Whataburger! I’ll visit this Whataburger whenever I’m back in the Houston area.
My husband and I stopped in today (we’re not from the area) in the drive thru, and the service was good and the food was fabulous! It’s the best burgers we’ve had from Whataburger in a while. It took a bit to get our order (probably a 15 minute wait), but it was absolutely worth it. They need to give some pointers to other Whataburger locations on food preparation! I miss that level of quality food from my local Whataburger.
The cashier was possibly in training. He misunderstood my order. The service was rather slow. Took them 20 mins Dine in service to get my meal. Tables were dirty, not wiped down. The soda area was in a disarray.
this whataburger layout is weird and even tho the lines get long, the wait isnt too bad. i like how they have the person taking the order like chick fil a does. it just gives more customer service oriented vibes and they are friendly. i normally get #1 but the other day i got the whataburger jr and realized it's the exact same thing but a smaller burger. felt like i unlocked a new menu item, it's perfect portion for me. anyways, i think this place has a bit better customer service compared to other places ive been to.
The drive thru is really wonky. When we received the food the staff were yelling and cursing at each other as if there was about to be a fight. I was glad we were in the drive thru rather than inside.
I’m from NY and we don’t have this fast food chain over there so I wanted to try it out. I was definitely pleased with the food. The service was a bit slow but all in all I was satisfied.
Fries were fresh... the BEST! Getting to the drive through entrance was a challenge.
Of course the food is good. However, my first time at this location they forgot part of my meal so had to go back to drive through. I really need to check my bag before leaving these places🙃
Go through the drive-thru, but make sure that when you pass the speaker, you make a hard turn because there’s two manhole covers but the hold is deep and my car is low. I never recommend going inside, even if you don’t see a line in the drive-thru. They don’t greet you when you come in, and when they do, it’s half/hearted because they assume that you’re standing waiting for a DoorDash order. They’re not friendly no matter who’s working the counter, which is very disappointing considering all the stores I’ve visited with great service. Several times I have had to return the fries because they were lukewarm, and of course there was a bit of attitude when I asked. They don’t put napkins in the bag and most times ketchup either. The drink lids are always spilling soda as they hand it to you through the window because they don’t fit right, and even then you have to ask for napkins to wipe up the spill.
Why are fast food workers so mad all the time? I get it — it’s probably not your dream job. But you’re dealing with hungry people who just want a decent experience before eating. The burger? Solid. No fries — too risky for me. Please don’t skimp on napkins, and maybe train order takers to be a little nicer. Make Whataburger great again.
Second time coming to this location. It's clean and the people who work here seem nice enough. I ordered the avocado bacon burger this time and it was pretty disappointing. I've had it before and really liked it. Also, this whole restaurant smells like cigarettes which is pretty gross.
I waited for a long time in curbside for my order. It didn’t look super busy inside, but at least the food was semi-hot when I got home. I also asked for creamy pepper sauce, but received buffalo sauce instead. At the very least, the worker who took my food out was very nice!
This is the slowest Whataburger in the state of Texas. You will wait 20 to 30 minutes for a Whataburger, every single time. The staff is great and the building is clean inside and out, but they simply cannot get food out in a reasonable amount of time.
Order taker not freindly at all,got order wrong, tried to correct but no t successfully. Ordered kids meal burger but got and paid for Uber combo with a small frie,not a medium . The other item wbjr with grilled onions,jalapeños, no pickle ,add mayo.got pickles anyway,mayo on beef side bun ,not on lettuce side onions ,jalapeños not grilled ,beef pattie broken in 3 pieces ,very light in color. Bathrooms were horrible, I just waited to hit other location. Drivers in parking lot were just as irresponsible as this location was putting out inferior products. WB has gone backwards rapidly as a whole since the planned demik and that bunch in Chicago took them over.
I went through drive thru, it was crazy busy. I placed 2 orders a #10 & a#1 sub mayo no onions with onion rings. I got fries, no ketchup, no napkins. Fries were hot, burger needed salt and pepper, but hot as well. That's why I gave 5 stars on food, but service, that poor lady needed help, a manager should have stepped up.
Just a normal whata burger food was fine but the lady at the conter yell at my mother just tried to get her whata burger Jr like don't be harsh on a burger jeez it was at 9:00 pm like you can't be that cranky
Stopped by while traveling for work. Inside of the restaurant was clean and had good customer service. Food was good, but messed up on my original order.
I mean it’s obviously good; however, I ordered and paid for double meat and they only gave me single meat.
The employees attitudes were fine, maybe above average. They seem disorganized or confused though. App said order would be ready in about 5 minutes but it took 15 minutes. I had 4 sauces in my mobile order which were missing despite the employee asking twice whether I wanted ketchup (take a look at the receipt!). They also ran out of lids for my drink as well as drink trays for to-go. Witnessed large percentage of customers have issues during my brief time there even though the restaurant wasn't slammed.
The wait time is incredible. The service is sub-par. They were out of onion rings, out of spicy ketchup, and when I asked the person for a non-carbonated drink, "we have Coke products". Ordered non-sweet tea, it came without ice. I would highly recommend you walk-in to order or go some place else. Also, I would recommend that the management at this location get a handle on their employees' skill-sets(customer service in particular) and its food supply.
I placed an order for delivery and everything was fine, until I received a call from my delivery driver, who proceeded to yell and me repeatedly asking for directions, and when when I tried to give them to her, she continued to argue, and yell on the phone with me as I asked her to be patient and for her to tell me where she was. My boyfriend was the one actually grabbing the food, and when he finally found her, she did not pull over to the side of the road and made him walk into the middle of traffic to get to her car, where she proceeded to yell at him to be more aware of his surroundings and to be quicker looking for drivers. When I tried calling the restaurant to report this they were unhelpful and said I wouldn’t be able to speak to someone until over 3 hours later to resolve this issue. The only good thing I can say about this place is the food was at least good, although it is hard to mess up. I would not recommend ordering delivery from this Whataburger.
Went the day of the 75th anniversary of Whataburger. It was chaos, most people couldn't order online to get the promotion. I had to try to get the burger at the store but couldn't bcus there were too many people. After the promotion was over at 8 pm that night, everything calmed down. Then people could order with no problem. But everything was back to the original price. Next time please try to get everything done right and have enough employees to take care of the customers.
Fries were cold and tasted old. Burger was barely lukewarm. I didn't even eat half. Drive thru lady was nice though.
Will never go to the Shepherd & Greenbriar location ever again! Got my order completely wrong then had to unchangeable me for the mistake she made. Then she gave me a large fry box that was half full.
Skimped me a whole beef patty on my burger - I know beef is expensive now, but this is BS. Ordered a Sweet & Spicy Bacon Burger Combo on Doordash. it arrived with one beef patty. Said burger comes with two patties. I can't believe that an employee forgot how many patties come on one of the most popular burgers they have - that has been around for years. No, price of beef seems to have got them to reduce half the beef on the burger. Didn't charge me less or anything. Not ordering from this store again.
I waited 30min, patiently, for a single breakfast taquito. She came out with the wrong order, so I had to leave for work. Attendant agreed to refund it then never did. So I paid for breakfast I never ate and was hungry all day at work. Very frustrating experience. I wouldn’t have to write a review if they had simply refunded it, though I still would have had to work 8 hours on an empty stomach.
Normally, I am pleased with this location, however tonight was subpar. My patties on the patty melt were dry and the bread wasn’t soft. Usually, the patties are so fresh and juicy , not greasy. I hope this was an “off” night. Still expensive to not enjoy.
Was visiting this location from out of town it was at or close to 6 PM (ish) the cashier looked tired manager was counting money by the food, was the least bit interested if his environment; not friendly to say the least. I Whattasized but got a medium fry they forgot my shake I mean there was no LOVE at this location. I ordered a Grilled Chicken Sandwich personalized and it wasn’t hot. Tables were dirty and they had cleaning supplies on top of the trash bins.. Sorry to say I was not happy with this visit
Got here at 5:55pm on a weekday and these people took forever to tell me their ice cream machine wasn't frozen yet. I had to wait 40 minutes for the crap. I literally waited. Only got 2 apple pies and 2 shakes. They could have refunded me OR GAVE ME A LARGE FOR THE WAIT AND NOT TELLING ME AHEAD OF TIME THAT IT WAS GOING TO TAKE THIS LONG. SHE SAID 10 MINUTES. IT WILL TAKE 10 MINUTES. AND I WAS OK WITH THAT. BUT 10 MINUTES TURNED INTO 40!!! SLOW AND LAZY AND HORRIBLE CUSTOMER SERVICE HERE!
Literally the worst Whataburger of all time. I’ve lived in this area for years and have always had subpar experiences and dealt with rude staff. The employees here have the worst attitudes in town and treat customers like garbage. Today I bought a burger and they FORGOT THE DAMN PATTY. I also ordered a strawberry malt and I got a half full vanilla shake. 5 minute wait at the order box and eventually I got a “what?”. Is no one there to hold these people accountable? Please see photo of the “burger”. Absolute garbage.
Update from 5-1 star: The SLOWEST “fast,” food you will ever experience. Had to wait over 45 minutes for an order I placed 20 minutes before and showed on time for. Absolutely abysmal management and it shows
I asked for a Whatacatch meal with no tomatoes and was told that it doesn't come with tomatoes.... When I finally got my food, guess what was on my sandwich? Tomatoes. Service is terribly slow. No sense of urgency to get meals out in a timely manner. Ordered food through the drive thru and was asked to pull up and over to the side. We were waiting at least a good 10 minutes before one of us went inside to ask about a refund. Mind you, multiple cars that ordered after us were able to get their food and leave, so I don't know if we were just forgotten. Regardless, the service here is terrible and by the looks of the other reviews this is typical here.
I went in only to pick up a DoorDash order. Nobody greeted me everyone just gawked at me as if I had a money on my head. Before grabbing the order & drink. I noticed the cup had soda spilled on top of the drink a dripping frm the sides. I asked the younger lady for a napkins. An instead of handing them to me or cleaning the drink off herself seeing that she had just sat it on the counter like this for me to pick up. She processed to tell me “the napkins are right here”. The old me would’ve read her. Instead I just politely grab the napkins whipped my drink off an left the store. I’m bringing awareness to the fact of please hire people who want to work. Regardless of the day or mood you are in/having. You are getting paid to do a service. It very simple to be friendly an have manners especially in the workplace. I’m not sure if she was a manager or not but she wore a work jacket different from the other employees.
The customer service was terrible. There was only one car in the drive-through, and it took about 20 minutes to place an order. The person taking the order sounded very far away from the microphone and had an attitude.
The food is basic, just like any other Whataburger, but if you’re in a hurry or if you don’t mind waiting 30 minutes to get your food because of the lack of urgency at this establishment then go to it. Three times I have been there and had to wait close to 30 minutes through the drive-through breakfast or lunch. It doesn’t matter. The owner Martin Moreno needs to do better.
First, I’ll like to state that I’m a big fan of Whataburger. I have been for a very long time. However, despite this restaurant being so close to my home, I will not come back. I’ve had less-than-stellar service and messed up orders many times here, but I usually just let it go so I can enjoy my meal. Today was the last straw. I had a quick break between meetings to grab some lunch, so I got in my car and went to the drive-through. There was an employee sitting on the curb near the order screen, but she didn’t acknowledge me or greet me when I drove by with my window down, so I proceeded to the menu board to order. Then I hear, in a rude, angry voice, “SIR! You have to order through me!” I said, “Ok, but can I at least look at the menu?”…I wanted to see what was currently on the All-Time Favorites. She, again very rudely responded, “I have a menu right here,” pointing to a paper menu in her apron pocket. I asked, “How was I supposed to know that?” This whole time, she never got up from sitting on the curb. She didn’t approach me, even though I was less than 10 feet away from her. No effort at all. I said, “Forget it…I’ll take my business somewhere else.” I left, went to another burger drive-through, was treated like a customer, and gave them the money that should have gone to Whataburger. You’ve lost a loyal customer. Do better.
It took 20 minutes for them to give me one combo. The cashier was accusatory and rude.
Crew behaviour is very not how it supposed to be , they try as to avoid you asking for the order while on the app it’s supposed to be ready 10 min ago , tables very messy full of used napkins and papers …. They can do better
Y’all let me down today. Buffalo Ranch chicken strip sandwich with no buffalo sauce. Employee taking order had no social skills.
Do NOT come here expecting "fast" food. It took them nearly an hour to get a burger and fries. Never experienced anything like that before. Save your time and go to McD's for the same quality food.
The food everytime I go be cold and they get my simple order wrong each time like i literally said no onions or pickles on my burger since im allergic to them and they still don’t listen and my food went to waste cause I couldn’t eat it they are definitely the worst location
You have to hire more employees, this is supposed to be a “fast food” restaurant but if you go there, you have to wait 35 minutes to get your food
First ordering food the customer service was ok and had a slight attitude. Then I looked at my order and both burgers were wrong. Each sent back and Redone 3 times. The manager stood over me while I was checking if there were ok. The manager with her tone didn’t even let me finish checking my burger to see if it was correct and with a tone asked me if I was fine rushing me. My burger was still wrong but at this point I was done with Whataburger. Never again I am coming to this location. Everything was all wrong. The service was horrible the food was all wrong. No apologies just attitude.
Never have the Salsa Verde on hand for the taquitos, says it wasn't on truck when ordered, just a bunch of excuses that were ordered instead. The taquitos ain't much better, got 2 this morning that were utterly destroyed when wrapping up, it's like they squeezed it super hard, so when I unwrapped it from the paper, it was sticking to the paper and the tortillas were all kinds of mangled and couldn't get them to roll back up to enjoy, had to go find a fork to even remotely enjoy them. Manager here needs to take a long hard look in the mirror.
I’m a food delivery driver and I avoid this Whataburger at all costs. The employees are rude and act like they hate their jobs. The food is never ready, and the wait times are ridiculous. Most of the time, I end up canceling the order because I’m stuck waiting so long. It’s a shame because their customers tip well, but the headache of dealing with this location just isn’t worth it.
For lack of options i been here at this location a few times...food takes between 20 to 30 minutes to be ready. Staff gives the impression to always be mad for some reason...
Whatadisaster! Should be called Burgers with Attitude. 25 mins wait time for simple burger, waiters act like somebody forced them to work here. The food is a disaster, too (fries were good) but maybe it was my fault to come here, not theirs.
The drive thru is horribly designed. If there are more than 5 or 6 cars, the line extends out onto a one-way, on a curve. We waited in the drive thru for over 45 minutes to see the slow moving line was due to cars that were waiting for their orders would just park ahead in the drive thru, blocking the only exit, instead of going around the corner to the main parking lot. It looked like they were following the employees' instructions, terrible management. We thought maybe going at 1am was probably small staff falling behind on orders. Nope, kitchen appeared fully staffed and capable of making the orders faster than they were. The food itself was mediocre. I would highly recommend Shake Shack over Whataburger.
Absolutely the worst whataburger in houston. They never change their oil, so their fries are nasty and you can't eat them. They get your order wrong. Food is cold.Do yourself a favor and keep on driving
The worst location ever, i went there to get a burger and the 2 lady’s inside were yelling “only driver through, only driver through” so rude and impolite (Nigerian accent) I went to the drive through, the lady asked me “just give me 2 minutes” i ended up living after 20 minutes of waiting without getting anything!!!!

the MANAGER of all people was extremely disrespectful, i was trying to use the app and haven’t used it much before and he told i need to go youtube it and learn how use the app, blew my mind how he didn’t offer to help me out with anything then proceeded to get my order wrong with missing items, i get you work fast food but you chose that job be a better representative of your team and the company you work for if i could give 0 stars i would and fire him myself, unbelievable
I ordered a burger and fries on their app at 1:57, was told to pick up at 2:03, and only received my order at 2:38 after speaking to four employees. I understand that these things happen, but I was within 25 feet of a manager the entire time. I would expect someone with additional responsibility - a manager, supervisor, someone with a trainer hat, etc. - would step in, acknowledge that my order was not being made, and let me know that they would rectify it. Each time I saw an employee escalate this issue to the manager, the manager declined to step in. No complaints about the burger / fries, which were eventually pretty good.
Takes a long time, smells like weed through whole restaurant, & even though I ordered curbside they never came out & had it where delivery folks come in to pick up food. I would highly suggest going to another one because this one does not take orders seriously.
Waited 20 min & staff had put on order by food deliver. Then missing fries. The small fries also cold. Went back in got hot fries but no apologies. Also gravy just like water.
5 items missing. Didnt get jalapeños on either burger that I paid for. Didnt get the side of onion rings or honey mustard I paid for. Didnt get the ranch for the chicken tenders I paid for. Came at a slow time, no one in line but me and they still failed to put 5 different items in my bag prioritizing their laziness to just get an order done. Not the first and not the last time this location doesnt gaf about what anyone orders as long as its done as fast as possible.
Went in the drive thru for breakfast, there was only one other car ahead when we got there. After ordering they gave us our drinks and asked us to move up. That’s when it started getting busier. As we’re waiting for our food 6 cars behind us got their orders and left. We only ordered two biscuit sandwiches, just as the way they came. Very slow and disappointing service with a staff that didn’t care.
Didnt receive sweet n spicy burger, went back inside, asked them to fix it, they just put in another burger. Fries were essentially noodles with how soggy they are. Will not recommend coming here.
After voting in the West Gray area, I stopped for a meal at Whataburger 271 on South Shepherd at 2:10pm on Tuesday, Feb 24,2026. I drove up, they never responded; I had to ask is anyone available? A guy answered once he heard my voice. He had difficulty getting the order right. So I drove up to window and woman asked if we had two Whataburger and fries, but did not ask the details as we ordered them. She said she would bring out….30 minutes later a woman with no concern for what was in the packaging handed us the food. We did not get what was ordered and the food was cold. The service was awful and at a time of day after lunch crowds and before schools are out, there is no excuse for this type of service!
Absolutely incredible that this location even continues to exist. It's absolutely malicious at this point. They HATE their customers. Complete disrespect via wasting of time, incompetence, and completely wrong orders.
every single time i have placed a mobile order it has taken an additional 15-20 minutes on top of my drive to get there. everyone is jest standing around looking lost instead of making food, and when they do it is wrong every time. there's is an extreme amount of incompetence and lack of customer service. this is truly the worst whataburger i have ever been in houston
This place has horrific service. The manager doesn’t care. The cooks are slow and no one knows what they’re doing. There’s 20 people in line to get food and they don’t know where the orders are at the most unprofessional Whataburger in Houston Texas. Do not come here the worst experience ever.
Locations always busy and slow but it’s Whataburger so I’m not complaining about being slow it’s worth the wait but when I order a Large coke and the new guy they have outside messed up and made it a small then the Hispanic lady at the window,who is always here when I come, tried to hand me a small coke I told her I ordered a Large she said well he charged for a small I said ok I’ll pay the difference she closes window for 2-3 minutes and comes back to he charged you for the small. So AGAIN I tell her I don’t care what he did I’m willing to pay I DID NOT order a small. What’s the problem here!!! Listen to people when they tell you something especially when they tell you they are willing to pay the difference. 🤦🏼♂️
Sat there for 30 minutes, standing 5 feet away from the counter while the little short dude asked every other person what their order was and hand-delivered it to them. The same short dude has been disrespecting everyone that’s not his same race for the last 10 years. I actively try not to come inside (and know other ppl including my father and a number or friends who have felt the same sentiment) of this Whataburger just because of the short manager that has been working here the last number of years. He clearly is biased and has prejudice against anyone that does not look like him. This has been going on for years and I’m not sure why, but I finally have decided to say something. Check the tapes from 11:45 PM this Sunday and you’ll see him approach every single person that ordered after me about their order name and hand delivering it to them
This is absolutely the worst location I have ever visited. I requested a refund over a month ago. I called customer service multiple times and also the store as instructed today. When I spoke to the manager about this issue at this particular location she argued with me, told me to shut my mouth, that I would not be getting my money back, and hung up on me. This is NOT ok.
I am a regular Whataburger customer and visit multiple locations throughout the city several times a week. Unfortunately, the service at this location was unacceptable. The staff was not welcoming, came across as rude, and my order was incorrect. I also observed multiple other incorrect orders while I was there. When customers pointed out the mistakes, the employees became defensive and argued instead of correcting the issue. It was clear that the person taking orders was not paying attention, which led to repeated errors. In my opinion, this establishment would greatly benefit from a refresher on customer service, professionalism, and accountability. Mistakes happen, but how they are handled is what defines the customer experience. This location did not meet the standards I have come to expect from Whataburger.
I love whataburger, but this one is just horrible. The poor kid taking our order was the only nice thing. 2 kids that work there placed an order just before us, so we waited for them to figure out the tap to pay. The same 2 sat near us and must have ordered everything off the menu. They ate like feral animals. Our food was lame. The buns were soggy the fries were limp and cold. Nothing tasted fresh. This use to be our go-to whataburger. Not anymore
Usually have a decent experience when I’ve come here. But today 11/29 at 1:45p we ordered in the drive thru. The guy taking orders outside has a HORRIBLE attitude. Tried to order a fruit punch, “we don’t have that?”. I asked what do you have? He didn’t respond. Tried to ask questions about the menu, again no response. I’m not sure what his name is but I prefer not to come back to this location if this is how I’ll be treated when trying to order.
I don't know what has happened to this restaurant. I've been going to it for 30 years and it never really recovered since covid. I have witnessed robberies and car break-ins in the parking lot at noon. The bathrooms are filthy. It operates more like something you would see in a third world country. Every once in awhile I'll get something that tastes like it supposed to. But overall this location should be avoided. I love how the employee break table is front and center for everyone to see where all the employees can store things like outside food, backpacks. And whatever it is they're eating also how to laugh at my breakfast burrito. When you order a potato bacon or sausage egg and cheese Taquito it's supposed to be chopped up on The Griddle placed into the the tortilla. And then rolled up. This lazy cook just put a whole hash brown on top of some eggs and rolled it up. So lame. The staff is too lazy to even Assemble something as simple as a taco. Oh yeah my strawberry shake had way too much strawberry in it. The color was so dark it was practically red. I guess I think the more syrup in the shake the better. These employees need some training. The store needs a complete overhaul. And please use bleach in the bathrooms you can smell the damn thing when you walk in the front door
