Love love loved this cafe! Recommend ordering the Sana'ani coffee (cardamom and condensed milk) served in a traditional pot so that you can enjoy multiple pours of this delicious coffee with friends & family in the traditional small cups. The pastries were excellent too

A sweet Iced Adeni Chai on a sunny day = 😃. The fatayer stuffed pastries are tasty too! Excellent location downtown and a perfect dining area with tables/chairs, a long counter along the window with stools and power outlets, and huge windows all around. A perfect coffee shop.

Food : honeycomb = so good, so soft, sweetness is just right. baklava = a must try, must order. i tried many baklava and all i can say is its sweet and its “okay” but their Baklava is just 💣. we also tried their biscoff cheesecake and pistachio milk cake both good but the pistachio milk cake is a perfect pair in their ADENI Chai that you SHOULD order and never miss. Adeni Chai is just 10000/10 rating. we also tried their Turkish coffee, good flavor. Spanish latte is 💣, alao tried the iced brownsugar latte, all good!! service is 💯. baristas are friendly, accommodating and just had that very welcoming smile. love the ambiance, the decor is just 👍🏼. we have been to like 2 other yemeni coffee shops around Berkeley area but Sana’a is by far the best and the place we will surely come back and recommend to our friends. eventho i live like 1hr away from oakland, willing to drive here again. 🤚👆🏼

I had a long day working at an offsite location, and as I got into my car to head home, I realized that I did not have any coffee today. So, I searched around! And I refuse to go to the chain places especially the one everyone goes to. Sana’s Café came up and I heard some good things about it. I stopped by there and was pleasantly surprised! It was a little after 3:00 PM and the place was full. I walked right up to the counter and the choices were amazing. I ordered a Turkish Coffee for there and a large Sana’a Coffee (the one with cardamom) to go. I also order the cheese pie and the cheese and zaatar pie, I also ordered the pistachio baclava (to go). Staff was wonderful and very polite and professional. I got the Turkish coffee on a little tray with the Turkish coffee pot and a ornate looking Turkish coffee cup. That pot had three servings in it. The cheese pies were amazing and taste like original local Middle Eastern cheese, they were so good I ordered two more to go. The coffee was light and full bodied. I enjoyed it immensely. I got back to finish my 2-hour ride with the Sana’a coffee. What impressed me is the quality of the cup. I did not have to fiddle with it to open it, it easily opened and closed. The cardamom was strong enough to smell, but it did not overpower the taste. I enjoyed that coffee on my ride, and it stayed hot for a long time. Definitely a place to visit again.

This place is AMAZING! The owner was extremely friendly. They had not officially opened yet and I was only peaking in when the owner caught me. He invited my wife and me in and gave us a tour before the official opening. He then made us free coffee and tea which was impeccable. Coffee and Chai were perfect. The chai was lightly sweetened as requested and with tons of cardamom flavor (which i love!). I would highly highly highly recommend this to anyone!

Best service and coffee in all of Oakland! The staff at Sanaa Cafe are incredibly friendly and provide impeccable customer service. To make up for a slight delay in our drinks, they offered us a free honeycomb bread, which was absolutely AMAZING! We've visited many Yemeni cafes, but this one had the freshest, crispiest honeycomb bread we've ever tasted, with the perfect amount of cream cheese. Their Redbull mojito with strawberry is a must-try, and you can't go wrong with the adeni milk tea. The owner is genuine and passionate about his craft, which is evident in the quality of both the service and the food. The team is kind and generous. Although it’s new, this place was booming with patrons and is clearly destined for great success!

Sana’a Cafe is such a gem in Oakland, right off 8th and Broadway. Street-metered parking is available, and it’s always worth the stop. The atmosphere is amazing—cozy, warm, and thoughtfully designed. The interior decor is beautiful, with really nice furniture and a lot of attention to detail. It’s a smaller space, which makes it perfect for working or studying rather than large social groups. Calm, comfortable, and inviting without feeling crowded. The Adeni chai is consistently excellent every single time—rich, flavorful, and clearly made with care. If you’re looking for a chill spot with great vibes and reliable quality, this place never disappoints.

Been here twice, and both times have been amazing! Great drinks, the pastries are wonderful as well, and the vibe is cozy. The employees are always respectful, I wish I could come here every day! Their pink drink was especially great, tastes better than the Starbucks version! Come here if you have the chance you won't regret it!

This is a nice hidden gem that you wont realize how good it is until you step inside and try their chai and dessert. We got the Adani Chai and the baklava. Both were excellent. The decor feels you took a quick trip to Yemen and back, and the service was above and beyond. I highly recommend you give them a visit if you are in the area.

Amazingly beautiful! Everything tastes great at Sana’a Cafe. This was my 1 st visit early in the morning and I had matcha and Dubai chocolate cake. I will definitely come back! Thank you very much for great service and tasty cakes!

Great vibe and nice that they took over another corner cafe spot. I loved the decor and the mural. The honeycomb bread was fresh and delicious. Cardamom coffee was also really good and strong. It was a relaxing place to catch up on some work. They have a lot of 2 seaters which seem good for catching up with a friend.

Worked all day from here on a full pot of adeni chai (served on a warmer!). The cheese fatayer and spinach cheese fatayer made were toasted up for breakfast. Espresso is great. Clean bathrooms, friendly but not intrusive staff, strong WiFi, plugs and tables. What more can you ask for?

Their decaf latte is incredibly good, I still remember the aroma and taste after a few weeks. The rich texture of their latte is truly exceptional. The spice-infused coffee is also very unique. If you pass this area, you must try their latte, period.

The coffee is rich and flavorful, and the fresh juices are absolutely delicious. The staff are friendly, attentive, and make you feel right at home. What a great place! Great coffee, especially including Yemeni specialty coffee. One of the few cafes that has a wide selection of savory pastries. Their cake collection is mouth watering. And they are rare in that they are open really early and close really late, with lots of seating and outlets so you can really post up and spend time.

I really wanted to like this cafe because I’ve heard nothing but good things about it but the customer service was not okay. The man at the register was very rude and short. My cousin ordered a lemonade that we didn’t get it and when we brought it up to him he proceeded to tell my cousin that he never ordered a lemonade and argued with him. Very disappointed. Food was good but not enough to come back and deal with horrible customer service.
