Tortas Ahogadas Mi Barrio

Really good tortas ahogadas and the tacos of papa and frijoles with carnitas on top delicious!! The food is very tastefull! Only downside is the guy that goes in and starts signing! Sometimes you just want to enjoy your meal peace and quiet!! Nothing against the guy! He just tryin to make a dollar! I will go back when he is not there!

Food was delicious. Torta was amazing. The bread was key, it didn't get soggy at all. The flavors were out of this world!! Was really reasonably priced. Area is not the best but is a must to try.

OMG! The best carnitas I’ve ever had was in this restaurant! I had the Carnitas Torta, which was served with this just sauce that was out of this world!! Oh, and the bread soaked it up, makes my mouth water just remembering it! I don’t speak Spanish and the staff didn’t speak English, but they were so nice and welcoming. (Thank you phone translation) Will be eating at this establishment regularly for lunch… I probably wouldn’t visit after dark, but it is an awesome place for lunch!! LoVE it!!

Best tortas ahogadas north of Jalisco. Eating The tortas and tacos takes you back and the atmosphere definitely adds to the nostalgia. If you’ve never experienced it in Guadalajara then this place is the next best thing. The owners are from Guadalajara and the taste shows it.

This place is delicious. One of my favorite places to eat in Oakland. There's also a guy that sells homemade ice cream outside of this place from a pickup truck. They are not related but it's a nice treat after eating a torta.

tried the Tortas Ahogadas and Tacos Dorados and it was delicious. The flavors were really good.The price was a little higher than expected. I would definitely come back again.

There's been a lot of skimping on the meat lately and the ingredients and overfilling with rice in Mexican food lately. This place makes burritos like I used to remember them. Mouthfuls of cheese and every bite, visible mountains of meat on both sides of the burrito every bite. This burrito was jam-packed full of meat and cheese and all the usual suspects. It's so great to see properly filled burrito in Oakland. This place definitely deserves more recognition just for that. And the service was great. Very fast to make the burrito about 5 minutes and the cashier was very kind.

Only wish the salsa was a little spicier. My spouse and I ordered a torta ahogada to split and some crispy potato tacos for each to try. Both plates were pretty good, especially because of the spicy sauce. Now that's a spicy Mexican sauce. Only complaint I have is both lack a tiny bit of salt but overall it's a yummy authentic Mexican flavor restaurant.

Well it was okay in service they got my order wrong but I cant blame them they had a full house the torta de carnitas was ehh...a. lot of meat bread hard and the sopes de tinga were wonderful the tacos dorados were a big hit in our family the carne asada was good the only improvment is to have the meat not so dry the camarones en la dablia were spicy also only 8 mini shrimps were serviced finally thought of all could you improvement just a little and it a hit with me

Ordered 2 horchata and 2 burritos, $38.15 !!!! When asked she said drinks are $5 but the menu said $3.50! Nowhere said large or small, a simple overcharge if you don’t pay attention, I called deceiving and cheating, too bad.

The customer service here is always hard to deal with. However on our most recent visit we were charged higher prices for everything than what was listed on the menu. Not a good business practice. You gained a few dollars on this one visit, and you lost the money from future visits.

I ordered a plate of chillaquiles the price was on the menu for just $14.50 it did not include the meat, the eggs nor the sour cream, so it was an extra charge. when i was ready to pay the total came up to $42.50 I feel very robbed with this prices for just 1 plate.
