We are visiting Oaxaca and staying in Reforma and walked by this lovely little open air restaurant and it intrigued us so he looked online and saw excellent reviews and decided to go there ourselves for dinner. I promise that it will likely be our most returned to local restaurant while we are here for another few weeks. Our waitress was lovely and the food was exceptional… My large camerones de Aderezo chipotle prawns were huge, abundant and amazing …the Garnachas which we had for the first time were perfect and my wife’s Sopa de Mariscos/seafood soup was full of shrimp and squid and muscle and crab and so flavorful. I am showing pictures of all of our dishesbecause not only were they tasty but they were beautifully presented, the delicious slightly, but not too sweet elote “cornbread” with berries and ice cream was perfect. I can’t wait to go back and try more.

In the afternoon there are only garnachas and pollo garnachero! Even so, both options are ideal for snacking and complement each other.

Everything is delicious at that place, it's always packed, so keep that in mind. I recommend everything there; the garnachas come in small portions, like 10 per plate. You can't miss the cheese balls, their corn bread or corn tamales, the plantain fritters, fresh cheese, etc. They close early, around 6:00 or 7:00 pm.

Garnachas stand tall as one of the absolute best culinary delights across all of Mexico🇲🇽! Only a handful of places consistently serve them with the quality they deserve. Trust me, it's an experience worth every moment, and if you've never indulged, you're truly missing out 😢. Believe me, visiting Oaxaca without savoring garnachas is like missing the heartbeat of true Oaxacan culture. As a proud Oaxacan resident and a dual citizen of Mexico, I implore you—don't skip the garnachas. It's literally a culinary sin 😈!!!

So glad to have found this place on Google Maps. Also very happy to have tried this spot. I already later in the evening, but they had garnachas still available. I’ve been to Oaxaca a few times, but never heard of garnachas until a few days ago. This place has great food, great customer service, and a great atmosphere. Next time I’ll make an effort to arrive earlier in the day to try their other food!

Don't be scared from the looks of this joint. The garnachas are great, the beer is very cold, service can be slow but is worth the wait. The place has this "cantina" feeling, it looks old and dirty but everything is part of the experience.

Deliiii Una buena opción para disfrutar la gastronomía de la región del istmo, siempre será un deleite comer aquí. El servicio es bueno pero debes considerar que todo es preparado al momento. (Se lleva su tiempo) Las garnachas y los camarones con aderezo son mi recomendación.

I recommend making a reservation before going. The wait time for food after ordering is 40 minutes or more. (Breaded shrimp are not peeled.)

A great option for enjoying dishes from the Isthmus region. The place is pleasant, you can make reservations, and it's wheelchair accessible. Food is served in 20 to 30 minutes, so if you don't mind waiting for your meal, it would be helpful to choose your dessert at that time, as it also runs out quickly and takes another 20 or 30 minutes. It's a bit slow, but worth it. They've recently added more seafood and fish dishes, so you have more options. Garnachas, molotes, and the house and Isthmus desserts are highly recommended.

I went with my friends to celebrate a birthday. The garnachas were a bit tough, and I didn't like the seasoning of the meat or the sauce. The cheese balls were too salty for my taste. The breaded shrimp, the shrimp in garlic sauce, and the shrimp in dressing were super delicious! The horchata and passion fruit drinks were also great! The singer didn't sing well and shouted a lot. In the end, they charged us for two extra beers, and even though we told them, they were adamant and wouldn't admit to making a mistake on the bill. It wasn't pleasant arguing with them about it. In short, it's not bad; you can eat well, it's not expensive, but they could improve the overall experience.

The food was very good: garnachas, pollo garnachero, tostadas, and well-seasoned steaks. The atmosphere was family-friendly, although we happened to be served by a noisy group. The service was good, but when we ordered a steak to go, they told us it would take 40 minutes. I think they're understaffed and it's not enough to speed things up.

Me encanta la comida istmeña y la comida aquí me decepcionó. Las garnachas estaban tiesas, como si solo las hubieran recalentado antes del servirlas, la carne insípida y la salsa no picaba, nada comparado con la salsa que regularmente acompaña este platillo en otros lugares. El filete empanizado estuvo terrible, predominaba el sabor a grasa. Los camarones al coco igual estaban insípidos y prácticamente con nada de coco. Las aguas son de frutas naturales pero ya vienen envasadas y me resultaron algo dulces. Lo único que podría rescatar de los platillos fue las papas que acompañaban el filete. Los precios se me hacen elevados considerando la calidad de los alimentos. No cuentan con estacionamiento pero puedes encontrar espacio en alguna de las calles aledañas al lugar. Aceptan pago con tarjeta y en efectivo.

We ordered some garnachas and some shrimp. After an hour, they came out saying the order was lost. So they just gave us the garnachas because we asked, "Yes," or "No."
