Opinions de Chinese Kitchen Odessa
Some of the best Chinese food in town! The lemon chicken sauce is so unique and delicious! The noodles are perfect and egg rolls are delicious. Very clean place and calm atmosphere!
My favorite non buffet Chinese food place. But for the price and the serving size, feels like buffet. In my opinion the best Chinese food in town. Great consistent taste overall. It's been years since I started coming here and I have not been disappointed. Good food. Good calm atmosphere. I am a little sad there has been a few unhappy customers since I have never experienced bad service or food here. I know it's not everyone's taste but I love it here.
Bro when I tell you it was life changing it was. I was sobbing after the worst moment of my life, failing at everything. And then I come upon this little place, unassuming but I could down some crab rangoons. I walk in the atmosphere was sweet, family like and homey, I order the pan fried noodles and crab rangoons the gentleman who took my order was kind he helped me decide what I would want. I get my drink, orange fanta of course, then boom my food was hot and ready faster than little ceasers pizza. Then I took my first bite...woah...I've never felt love like I did that day, the flavors gave me a new found love of food, I downed my noodles marginally saving room for the crab rangoons, oh ohhhhhh little did I know, the noodles were just a starter... the crab rangoons were crispy with the most palatable and delectable pockets of love. I fell in love harder, my wedding day may never compete with the love I felt here. I graciously scarfed down the scrumptious meal, loving life again. My worst day ever became the day I learned love. I come back often, excited for my next meal. I try things often, but I always come back to pan fried noodles and always crab rangoons...those things will forever have a special place in my heart...whatever they make with them...immaculate. I love this place, I'll never forget the day I went the first time, the day I learned love.
This is my favorite Chinese Restaurant in Odessa. It is never crowded, everyone is friendly, and the food is always great. My favorite is the orange peal chicken. I love spicy food and they have a pepper posted on the menu that lets you know which items are spicy. The chicken fried rice is good too. Their prices are reasonable. My husband and I got a meal for two with a medium drink and it was 17 dollars and change. I we pay more when we go to Panda Express and the food is not as authentic tasting.
I picked up a to go order to take back home to Midland. We ordered the Mongolian stir fry, beef & broccoli, sweet& sour chicken & spring rolls. The food & service was excellent. I will be back soon. Highly recommend.
Good place ask for a fried rice combination extra spicy it was awesome great staff
I love the calm atmosphere of Chinese Kitchen. Been going for at least 15 years, food still tastes amazing! The noodles are a huge hit with my kids.
Absolutely love this place!! The food tastes like memories and is the best. The atmosphere is nice quiet and relaxing. If you want a taste of nostalgia come to this place. It is also very clean and friendly. UPDATE* EVEN BETTER THIS TIME, soda the best as always. Picture of my cleared plate 😏. Also who cares if they seem rude! That’s how you know it’s good.
I'm never going back to another buffet in town after going here. Portions to go are extremely huge, and the prices are amazing for the amount of food you get. We order take out and pick it up. Staff was super friendly and she had no problem walking me through the menu. The place itself needs a little upgrade but it's clean and Spacey.
Hot food , tastes good , good service and good price

This is the last Chinese Kitchen in the Permian Basin. They make the best Mongolian Stir Fry and hot and sour soup and egg rolls that I have eaten!!!!!
My Mom used to bring me here in the 90s, we would share a plate of Mogolian Stir Fry, now i can come here with my daughter and enjoy the same thing. Very nostalgic for me. They have delicious food and huge portions. Place looks exactly like it did in the 90s too.
Been eating here for over 20 years. Still just as good as the first time. The beef pan fried noodles are great, and so is the sweet and sour chicken.
Have never experienced rudeness from anyone there. And the food has always been good value for the price. The atmosphere is meh, but that's not the reason to go there anyway. I like the Large portions, decent quality at a good price.

Good prices, food was good. Reason for the 4 stars is its not the best Chinese food I've had but its also not the worst. A great place for dinner after work. I ordered the beef broccoli and sweet and sour shrimp, was good, and the portions are also good for the money. Overall it was a good experience here.
I only come here on occasion. It's always empty and quiet when I do come to eat here, which is something I appreciate about the place. I imagine during lunch they get busy. The food is flavorful and well-made. The spicy entrees aren't spicy. It's definitely off the beaten path, and not readily visible from the street, but if you've spent any significant time in Odessa, you know about it.
This place was a rather nice sit-down establishment. I tried their Orange Peel Chicken and it was tasty; tangy with some spice. The mixed veggies side left something to be desired but the fried rice was simple and tasted fine. My husband had the Sweet & Sour Pork with fried rice and Chicken Chow Mein. The chow mein was different, tasted good according to him, but every restaurant has their own take on chow mein. Overall it was a pleasant experience. Will go back!
I really like this place for fast local Asian, I have been eating here for 32 years and it has always been decent for my Asian crave when I don't wanna spend a whole lot of money but want to still eat alot, I love the egg rolls so much!!! I was actually in a commercial for this place when I was a really little kid!!! I always have the 3 choice chicken chow mein, almond chicken and lemon chicken with an extra egg roll and sometimes won ton chips! Sometimes I have double lemon chicken instead of an almond chicken, come give it a try! The chow mein will be way different from what you west coast people are used to though just an FYI!!!

I didn't like it. I got the orange chicken and fried rice. I've had better. The egg drop soup was okay it was the only thing I liked but again I've had better. It was watery, I can make better... Service was good, it's Sunday and it was fast and everyone was polite.
Hubby LOVES this place. I'm kinda MEH about it ..
Very typical Asian cuisine. I’m convinced every Asian restaurant in west Texas sources their food from the same supplier and there is no difference in taste. You’ve been to one, you’ve been to all. I’d rate the food as typical. Sweet & sour chicken drenched in sauce. Beef & broccoli is bland. The fried rice is bland. Nothing exciting, but it is edible.

this place really went down hill, i ate here 2 years ago and it was good, went again today and it was terrible. the sesame chicken was dry and had no taste, the rice was mushy like a past and the egg rolls where slimy on the inside and had a texture that was similar to watered down raw dough. Everything had a bitter aftertaste. The music city mall Chinese has better taste
When you order sweet n sour chicken, the chicken isn't supposed to be shredded in rice and sauce on the side. It's supposed to be breaded pieces of chicken with the sauce over it. And once again pan fried noodles are not supposed to be soggy. The almonds and onions in the almond chicken was so tough it was hard to chew. There was no crunch to the vegetables. Had a old taste.
Not a great dining experience! The owner is not very hospitable and the food is okay at best! Some people may like this place but it's not for me.
Just got food from him and it’s the worst we’ve ever eaten there. Use to be good. Beef and broccoli is very bland , no flavor, , very little gravy. Pork fried rice is very disappointing, no flavor. Very sad. Won’t be going back.
Honestly? Some of the most bland Chinese food I’ve had in all of my travels. Crab Rangoons are the size of your thumb. Egg Rolls were over fried. The chicken was dry and not spicy at all.

The Asian female that works behind the counter, which I believe is part owner is very rude with zero customer service skills. The Asian male( part owner) is not far behind her in attitude. Customers spend their hard earned money to patronize your restaurant you should have better customer relations skills. If people banned to stop spending money with businesses that treat them rudely, I believe they will miss the money. Lastly, my food was burned and mixed with old and new food.
This used to be my favorite go to Chinese food place but unfortunately the food lacks the flavor and quality it once had. My orange chicken was soggy and lacked flavor and the noodles were okay at best.
Huge portions, horrible food. Had the orange chicken and the texture of the chicken was so off I was done after three bites. Veggies were hardly steamed but fried rice was good. Boyfriend said the only thing he liked on his 3x combo plate were his noodles. This was my first time leaving a restaurant still hungry. :( Strongly advise against eating here.
The food lacks flavor and the cashier was rude. It’s a horrible place, I recommend to go to literally any other Chinese restaurant in Odessa instead.
Honestly if I could give this place less than a one star I would. Food was horrible, the only thing that had flavor on my plate was the egg roll. The woman who took our order was extremely rude and seemed to have no interest in being at work. The furniture and carpet were extremely outdated and appeared to be very dirty. I wouldn’t recommend anyone coming here nor would I go back. Save your money and just go to Panda Express, it’s about the same price but Panda has more flavor and bigger portions.
This is hands down the worst Chinese food I've ever tried. The sweet and sour chicken tasted horrible and the beef and broccoli was rubbery. The broccoli looked old. Even our dog was hesitant in eating the beef. (She eats everything). I'm not sure how this place is still open. Should have just gone to Panda Express but we wanted more "authentic" Chinese food. Save your money. Go somewhere else
This place sucks really bad now. The food is dry not cooked right and the main thing is they went up on prices and serve a nasty vegetable roll instead of the normal eggroll. If yow want an eggroll its an extra charge, ridiculous! Ive been coming here since i was little and would rather eat heb frozen chineese food than to ever go back to this restaurant.
Worst Chinese food I've ever had!!! Ham fried rice tastes like instant rice. Never asked I I wanted soy sauce or anything. At least the soy sauce may have covered some of the taste. 1 start is way to generous. Never will eat there again. Wouldn't even feed it to my animals
Food was horrible we threw every bit of it away . I door dashed to combos the out a corner of noodles and what looked and tasted like dog food mixed together and rice , egg drop soup smelled spoiled and they gave us one egg roll. A waste of 30 dollars . U am livid as a single mother raising 4 children alone !!!
Worst Chinese food I have ever had! Literally took two bites off my plate and left.
1st time eating at this place and it will be my last. Ordered takeout of the general chicken. 60% of it was diced bell pepper and chilies and somehow the remaining chicken still had no flavor. Also the appetizer sampler would not even satisfy a toddler. The wings were literally smaller than my pinky and the wontons about the size of a quarter. Never again.
This place is literally ran by people who one day woke up and thought “I’m going to open up a Chinese restaurant by making southern food and adding sweet and sour and maybe some soy sauce and call it a day”. Not only was the food terrible, but to top it off, the lady taking the order seemed completely annoyed and miserable. Terrible food and terrible service. Chinese TV dinner could be considered gourmet compared to this.
My mom went in to order and stated that the cashier was very rude which I believe because of the multiple other reviews about the rude cashier. Then the food itself I don’t know how to explain. My generals chicken is basically soup with soggy chicken. This is not your average Chinese food. I recommend going to midland for Chinese food. This is the worst. No pride in this restaurant. And bells peppers in generals?? What is this place cause it’s not Chinese.
Umm if you want authentic Chinese food or even good Chinese food…. Direct your business to Buffet King. It’s way more flavourful and smells way better. The taste of the food is bland and old. Thank goodness I only got 1 plate of food to test it out, first. I was over charged but the people say it’ll only charge what it shows on “their” end. It was just a couple dollars but in this economy… every penny counts. Specially if the food was terrible. I took two bites of at 12$ plate and threw the rest away. I can’t imagine how long they store the food because the taste all around every item I got was old. Like the food been cooked and cooled and cooked again. Very disappointed.
Should of taken the smell as the first sign. Placed smelled really off like nasty. Placed my order cashier was kind of rude. Made my order the food look super funky. It grossed me out just by looking at it. Only thing that looked a little promising was the rice. Other then that I wouldn't put in my dogs mouth. We need a 0/0 option
I ordered chicken chow Mei and this is what I got, ordered online, when I received my order I called and try to explain that it doesn't look nothing like the pictures online they said they don't have pictures of the plates online, the guy who answered the phone claimed to be the owner but didn't wanna talk to me when I went to take the food back, so sad!!
Taste like it was cooked a week ago, had to throw the whole thing to the trash. Just hope I don’t get sick. No utensils.
I'm sorry but it was very bad. Nothing had flavor plus the wait time wasn't very good either.

My husband and I used to go here to eat frequently about two years ago. The food used to be wayyy better a the portions were bigger. Not only did my beef taste like caned tuna my broccoli was not cooked well. My husbands rice was hard as a rock. I very much enjoyed this place and now I’m not sure I will ever eat there again.
The worst egg foo young I have ever tasted.. the eggs was burnt like they grilled them the toppings was on top of the eggs noddles was cold rice was cold because they have them sitting out.. the egg roll was good, but hey how can you mess up a already cooked egg roll. I should have listened to the previous people but they was the only restaurant who had egg foo young. I wish I cood up load this dog food.... OK I tried to take my one star away but Google wouldn't let me post it...
This place is very close to our house so we decided to try it out. The only thing good was the spring roll. Rice tasted like butter and very bland. I got sweet and sour chicken very disappointed was bland and soggy. My husband got sweet, and sour pork and was bland and soggy too, He also got an order of crab ragoos and was disappointed they had a tea spoon of cream cheese and very chewy tasted like old oil. The place was clean, and the staff was nice. The food was just very bad. Won't be going back.
Cashier was rude but it may just be his personality who knows, but regardless the food was basically dog food, I have never eaten Chinese food this bad in my life. The food was so bad I just went home and cooked my own dinner. Wasted my money on a plate I could only eat two bites of I’m sure they were curious why a basically untouched plate of food was left on the table. I hoped this would be a hidden gem of a restaurant but turned out it’s just another place to avoid.
