Excellent menu to chose from, Excellent vegan options for my wife, Food was absolutely superb, staff and service was brilliant. would really recommend this place for vegan and vegetarian dining and lots of gluten free options on the menu. 10/10.

The food was really good and the waiters were all so friendly and efficient. The plaza has a nice atmosphere. The outdoor seating area is non-smoking which is great. Restroom clean.

Great vegan and veg options. Meat dishes also served with are fantastic portions and good price points. Setting inside is really clean and modern having been renovated over lockdown. Staff are attentive and welcoming. Indoor and outdoor seating available.

First time visiting and certainly won't be the last. Thursday night, we had no reservation (just the two of us), but they offered a table inside or outside, we opted for outside, the atmosphere was fab. Our waiter was fabulous, very polite, friendly, knew his stuff, explained the specials list for food and drinks that evening and we said yes to all! The service was excellent, as was the food-steak salad OMG amazing, definitely recommend a visit. Cost around €70 for nibbles, starter, main, side and several drinks, very reasonable. We'll be back 😁

This was a fantastic restaurant. 2 adults/ 2 kids from Scotland. Staff were very helpful & friendly, they recommended food & suggestions on portions sizes. Adults, we had 5 tapas plates between us, perfect. Kids, older off the main menu, chose a burger, and the younger one off the kids menu, dirty fries. The food was really nice, service amazing & we hope to go back

Cannot recommend this restaurant enough! The food, atmosphere & staff are all amazing. So much choice if you are vegetarian/vegan but also incredible options for the meat lovers too! We also got to try the Vegan street food platter, I could eat this everyday for the rest of my life it was incredible and very fairly priced. Definitely make a stop here if you get a chance!

As a coeliac, trying to find a good gluten free menu, with lots of quality choice, can be challenging. However, this is a brilliant restaurant. The food (gluten and none) is excellent. Everything is clearly marked on the menu and the staff understand the challenges this can pose. Each meal I've enjoyed, has been delicious and so has the rest of the party. I also had a 7 month old who was catered for-Nothing was too trouble. I will definitely be dining again and will recommended to others. Updated; I've returned every visit. The Hens teeth still provides excellent service and still offers many gluten free/ vegetarian options. I recommend trying all of the different daiquiris! Pictured- mango daiquiri

Excellent, fresh food full of flavour (the sun-dried tomato and basil dip in particular was unbelievably good). Excellent range across the menu. Pleasantly surprised to find somewhere with such excellent vegan options alongside traditional tapas. The house wine was also very good and the staff were super friendly. Top marks all round.

Really impressed with the vegetarian and vegan selection here. Really refreshing to see such a range of options. Seitan kebab was delicious and my husband really enjoyed his burger so can confirm the meat options are great too! Lovely staff and great experience - next time I’ll be trying the vegetarian tapas!

First time here and we'll impressed, I had Calimari to start, wife had garlic mushrooms, both delicious, then I had the burger and the wife had a chicken skewer, again both delicious, thank god the special menu is only 2 course with coffee to finish because a third couse would floor you, lovely setting in Villa Martin, the staff are nice, ask if everything is ok etc,. I would recommend and will defo be back

OMG what an amazing little find. Probably the best Tapas we have ever tried. I was a little reluctant putting a review, thinking it will get over run. However we met the owners Steve & Suro they make the whole experience enjoyable. The pictures do not do the place justice however I plan to take a proper camera next time. Garlic Mushrooms best we have EVER had. Pork ribs the meat just fell off absolutely the best ever. And I do my own on smoker at home and thought mine were amazing, I was proved wrong these were perfection on a rib, you only have to look at the meat and it fell off. Honest. ⭐️ And Lamb cutlets were beautiful. We will definitely be back for sure maybe even tomorrow night. Love the idea of the name. Hens Teeth no such thing or if there was “very very Rare find “ which is very applicable in this scenario. Amazing find in a restaurant. Love it. 🔥❤️🫶🏽

We haven't been to the Hen's Teeth for several months and glad to have visited it again - the food is always excellent, the team are friendly and service is great. Update Sept 2025- we aim to be here at least once every couple of months and both the food and the welcome from the team always makes us want to come back. A great selection on the menu means there's something for everyone. The wine list is well thought out, you can choose from local wines and further afield. So pleased to have a restaurant of this quality on our doorstep.

Without doubt one of the best restaurants in the area. The food is outstanding, service excellent, friendly staff and a great location. They never fail to provide 5 star service and food. Spain doesn’t seem to cater well for vegetarians and vegans. So living with both in my family it can be hard to fine nice places to eat. I have to say that this place gets 5 Stars from me. Plus there is good selection of meat dishes for me too. Really tasty food and good service. Wasn’t pricey either. Will definitely go again.

Without a doubt the best vegan / vegetarian food in Europe and the cocktails / wine menu was both extensive and we'll thought out. We spoke. With the manager, owner and waiters who were all. Amazingly attentive and friendly with the prices being perfectly matched to the portion sizes and the fact that's its simply harder to find meat alternatives in Spain. They're onto something special here and can't wait to try the new street food takeaway they're opening!

We visited The Hens Teeth last night. Once again fantastic food, service, ambiance and value for money. If you go to The Hens Teeth regularly for the same dish then things are changing, but don't be disappointed, be adventurous like they are. We had the chicken kebab (now on a specials menu) and vegan duck and pancakes - both absolutely delicious. They are using fresh produce that is delivered on a daily basis and creating the menu from what they receive and it certainly works! Well done team for breaking away from the 'norm'.

I absolutely loved the food here, sat inside on a very busy Tuesday evening. Very friendly service with a smile Went for a large salad and 4 tapas plates to share the black pudding was lovely, also had patatas bravas and meatballs and fried green peppers all divine. Perfect size portions and good value only stopped for a drink, but I'm glad we had something to eat here. Try you won't be disappointed.

Shared tapas between two - 5 half plates was enough. All of the dishes were really nice and the staff were helpful around gluten free options. The restaurant is part of the plaza, with seating inside or out overlooking the plaza. There was entertainment on in the plaza the night we were there (presume it's a regular thing) and it was pretty loud, even sat inside.

Erg lekker gegeten, zowel de vegetariër als de vleeseter. Dit restaurant was een grote verrassing voor ons. We zetten het op ons lijstje met favoriete restaurants en we gaan zeker volgende week weer. Reserveren aanbevolen. Op de foto: beyond burger (boven) en classic burger. De uienringen zijn home-made net als de frites. Witte Sangria was ook echt een aanrader😋.

Tienen una amplia carta vegana que se sale de los platos habituales. Los tacos de “pato”, brutales, con el seitan marinado muy jugoso y el “kebab” también una locura. El personal es muy atento y amable y en seguida te ayuda a elegir. Volveré siempre que pueda.

Es un acierto seguro, para TODO tipo de público, sea de la nacionalidad que sea (que yo sepa, hablan castellano, inglés, alemán, francés , italiano...) y sean cuales sean tus preferencias.

We had been here before on our holiday a year ago and decided to come back again. The food was still lovely and as a vegan it's nice to have a choice on the menu, especially in Spain. Great that they include vegan options on the kids menu as well. We sat inside this time but it is nice to sit outside in the plaza as well. We all enjoyed our food. The staff speak English as well.

As always a very honest review, after reading reviews I had high expectations however the food itself was average the chorizo was like soft and mushy, prawns were decent but nothing to rave about and the bravas was below average sliced potatoes with some mayo and ketchup

Heerlijke avond gehad op dit plein! Service was top! Wij hadden de tapas en dat was meer dan prima. Helaas waren de meatballs in tomatensaus op, de chorizo was niet helemaal ons favoriet! Vegan aioli was ook echt goddelijk!

Just had another fabulous dining experience at Hens teeth. Absolute perfection in every tapas. Best restaurant in Orihuela without doubt.

We’ve been here many times in the past and it’s one of our favourite restaurants but tonight wasn’t quite the same as it used to be. The food was fine but nothing special and the atmosphere and friendliness just wasn’t there. Due to family circumstances we will probably never visit again and it’s sad that our last meal here wasn’t as good as expected.

Had the chicken kebab as it looked nice on someone else's table and wasn't sure what else to have, very overpowered with spices so I didn't finish it and was difficult to eat in the wrap as the pieces were so small. the dip wasn't like the usual tatziki I have anywhere else. I didn't eat the chips as were very dry. My partner had the ribs, said they were nice but very overpowering sauce but he finished them. Was an OK meal, we would try something different next time in the off season as too busy during holidays.

Friendly waiter but the food was underwhelming. We were really looking forward to some good tapas and after reading reviews had high hopes for this restaurant but the tapas menu was quite small (and smaller than I’d seen online). There was only one meat dish on the tapas menu- meatballs, and one fish option- prawns. We didn’t fancy either, would have liked chorizo but they didn’t have any, other than that everything was vegetarian. Our garlic mushrooms, salted peppers and olives were all just ok. We also got chicken nachos, which were big portions but the chicken on top was cold. Also, the nachos came with tzatziki which was an odd choice to pair with it, would have preferred sour cream and only one small guacamole to share between 2 portions. Not good value for money and we wouldn’t revisit unfortunately.

Personally I didn't rate it at all, family of 4 visited it, I found the tapas mediocre. I got the Mallorcan sausage, which was pretty much pate with bread, wasn't for me to be honest. Next up, chorizo in red wine jus, again, wasn't for me, it was just a couple of chorizos in a red wine broth. No veg, no carbs , nothing else at all. Lastly, I got the chips with Iberian ham and fried eggs. Nothing special here either.

We actually noticed that the tables weren't covered with tablecloths like most restaurants. We were shocked by the absurdly high prices, but we expected the food to be excellent. Nothing could be further from the truth; the food was very disappointing and certainly not in line with the prices. The staff was friendly, and the atmosphere at the Plaza is always good. I'll choose a different restaurant at the Plaza next time.

Dålig och lite mat för pengarna. Området är trevligt och personalen helt okej. En typisk turistfälla.
