Havana's Cafe is praised for its authentic and flavorful Cuban food, especially the oxtail, ropa vieja, and plantains. Many reviewers highlight the friendly staff and owner, Tony. Some note that service can be slow when busy and that prices are a bit high.
Tip: Don't be discouraged by negative reviews; the food is delicious and the staff is friendly. Ask for the piquant sauce.
It has been six years since our last visit. They met and exceeded our expectations. We arrived about 2:30 in the afternoon. The decor was accented by local paintings and was clean and modern. The owner greeted us with a warm smile and a familiar conversation. We settled in and ordered. We had the fried Red Snapper (Whole), rice, black beans, and sweet plantains. While we waited We had virgin Pina ~ Coladas. The food was deliciously. We ended our visit with aromatic Cuban coffee and a delightful custard dessert.
I have visited this Cuban restaurant spot over the last 10 years when visiting the area for work and it is consistently great. The portions are large. The owner is very accommodating. And the apps and main entrees are terrific. My friends also felt it was excellent. I am not Cuban, but I can state the food is excellent. It’s not a chain. Locally owned. And very clean! Highly recommend.
Food was AMAZING and Tony provided PHENOMENAL Service!! If I could rate this place 10 stars I would! Will definitely be back & highly recommend the Sangria, Marquita's, Lechon asado & the flan de coco too!!!
Fantastic Food. Ox tails are delicious, Mariquitas, so fresh. Flan, unique and delicious. I only took leftovers so I could give my family a taste. Could have licked the plates clean though!
Great customer service. It’s been a while since I stepped out for a meal but I felt the genuine welcome of everyone in this place. The food was a lot at first glance and I had doubts about finishing everything on my plates. However, it was so good, I ended up leaving with a small bowl of congri. The beef was well seasoned and the spicy sauce on the side really complimented it perfectly. Also the seafood bowl had so flavor : the lobster, shrimps and mussels had this rich garlic sauce the elevated the overall experience. I absolutely loved it!
We really enjoyed Havana’s Cuban Cuisine. Food was excellent, portions were decent, and the service was great. The criollo red sauce on the camarofongo was delicious. Just the right amount of garlic. Would recommend
We came upon this place by chance, and wish we found them earlier. The staff seemed like they’re family and that they enjoy working together. The ambiance was pure Cuba; if you’re wanting authentic, that should be your first clue. I had oxtail and my husband had pork shank. We shared and could not finish the portions: they are generous. The oxtail was exquisitely made, and they will ask you about how much heat you like. I’m okay with some heat and they nailed it. There was enough gravy to go with the generous helping of rice. You also get plantains and beans. The pork was excellent and served with Cuban rice and beans. The five stars are well deserved. You should just stop reading now and go there already.
Updated Review- 2026 We keep coming back because the food is really good—true Cuban food. The owner removed the service fee, which we didn’t see on the receipt and really appreciated. We still left a 20% tip. Great food and a pleasant experience 👍 Previous- 2025 Every time we come here to Orlando we visit this little place because the food is really good . What we didn’t like is they add the tip and this should be optional . My husband wanted to give the waitress cash and a little more but the tip was already added to the bill ….
The best Cuban food you'll try in the area, the portions are generous and the flavor is delicious. The staff and owners are super friendly.
The plantain appetizer, chimichurri steak and tres leches desert were delicious! Went here with a colleague for dinner and had a fantastic meal.
Ignored the 3.5 review and glad we did! Excellent food and friendly staff.
don’t listen to a single bad review of this place. everything was so delicious and our waiter was amazing. if you have the chance take it and come try.

Place was empty and it took a while for service but the food was amazing. Tamales were delicious. Ropa vieja too and good congris. Ripe plantains were yummy. We found it a bit pricey though and the portions were ok. The flan was really tiny but good taste.
I’ve had a lot of Cuban food in my travels around this country and I can say this place is easily the best Cuban food I’ve ever had anywhere. I always come here whenever I’m in the Orlando area. The vaca frita, ox tail and Pargo are in a league of their own. The service is always friendly with a nice atmosphere. I highly recommend.
Decided to try out this restaurant despite some negative reviews about service fee, no kids meals, or no strollers allowed. Ultimately it’s about the food and service. Service was great and the food was truly delicious. Lots of flavor and ample portions. Looks like they are no longer adding the automatic 20% service fee. What you ordered is the price charged. Great place. Very authentic Cuban food. Would recommend.
Food is delicious 😋 My husband and I enjoyed dining here. We wemt twice while we stayed at Crown Plaza for the weekend..We definitely will return. Every person we told about it they said the same thing. 10/10. Love it!
Absolutely amazing! Havana Cuban Cuisine is a hidden gem and one of my favorite spots in town. The food is always fresh, flavorful, and authentically Cuban — you can taste the love and care in every dish. The Churrasco and picadillo are outstanding. Tony, the owner, goes above and beyond to make every guest feel welcome. He treats you like family from the moment you walk in. You can tell he takes real pride in his restaurant and his customers. If you’re looking for delicious Cuban food and warm hospitality, Havana Cuban Café is the place to go. Highly recommend!
The owner here makes phenomenal recommendations. We got the oxtail, the skirt steak with chimichurri, and the slow cooked pork. All were absolutely delicious and melted in our mouths. The plantains were cooked perfectly: crispy outside, sweet and tender inside. If you would like to experience Cuban food for the first time or want the best Cuban cooking available, you must try this restaurant. Humble, engaging, honest, friendly, and incredibly delicious food.
We walked in around 3:30 on a Saturday and it was completely empty. Why, I don’t know, because the food and service were excellent. My child had the palomilla with white rice and my mom and I both ordered the ropa vieja with moros (they call it congri). Everything was super flavorful. Is it a little expensive? Yes, but considering it’s in a touristy neighborhood, that’s to be expected. The server (possible owner?) was very friendly. I will absolutely be visiting again in future visits to Orlando.

A humble restaurant with a nice atmosphere. We were treated very well. Felt like we had our own personal waiter. Very professional on how he introduced the meals . There were five of us and each enjoyed our meals. If you are NOT use to “ Spanish “ flavors and seasonings, you may not enjoy your meal. Each of us have our unique taste buds and enjoy food differently. I myself enjoyed the seasoning of my dish, it was an Experience. May you too, enjoy this small, humble and very nice restaurant.

I tried the oxtails at Havana Cuban Restaurant and they were absolutely amazing! The meat was incredibly tender and just fell off the bone. The flavor was rich, perfectly seasoned, and full of depth, exactly what you want when you order oxtails. Easily one of the best I’ve had, and I would definitely come back just for this dish. Highly recommend!
It was about 7:50 pm on a Friday night. Upon arrival into the restaurant we noticed it was empty. So we took the risk and tried it out. We ordered congri, sweet plantains and bistec empanizado. $20.80 a plate. It looked good on the plate. The rice was room temperature. The sweet plantains as well. The breaded steak had a breading that just tasted off. It tasted like Italian breading instead of Cuban. We had to take it off the steak to eat it. When we got our bill they charged 20 percent gratuity. We were a party of two adults and one child. We asked the waitress to remove it. She said the bill automatically charges for a table of four which we were sitting at even thou we were a party of three. She removed the charge and we tipped 12 percent in cash because she never even came once to check up on us, the error with the tip charge, over priced and the weird tasting breading on the steak. We tried it,but we won't be back.
Stayed at the hilton close by the restaurant as I work for the company this place was recommended to me I wanted to buy the staff of 15 a holiday dinner on 12/23 aprox 3pm was told I couldn’t as it’s to big of an order and I needed to call 2 days in advance!
