1932 Reserve

This is one of the nicer restaurants I've found at the Lake. We got the duck confit poutine as an appetizer and the ahi tuna poke bowl and miso salmon for entrees. Everything was beautifully presented and tasted fantastic. The layers and combinations of flavors were excellent. Really well done. The amount of thought that went into the ingredient combinations didn't go unnoticed. It was one of the most thoughtful poke bowls I've had. I do have two friendly suggestions that did not affect my 5 star review. First, the poutine didn't need cheese sauce in addition to curds. It all appeared melted together and the cheese overpowered the duck confit which had very good flavor on its own. Typically poutine only has curds. The second thing that I would love to see at a nice restaurant like this is an espresso on the dessert menu. Get an espresso machine and offer a couple varieties of crafted shots. You can even use it in the bar for cocktails. Espresso is a beautiful palate cleanser and spark to the end of a nice meal.

Great atmosphere and kind staff. Delicious food from the shared bites to entrees. Definitely recommend their mussels and the garlic aioli sauce is phenomenal! Nice inside and outside dining experience.

Where to start! The owners put a lot of thought and effort into the lofts. They look way more expensive than they are. The washer/dryer/dishwasher et al, are all modern as are the very stylish furnishings. You get a reserved parking spot which is very handy with the restaurant being in the same building. It's right near the lake so the view is from the balcony is very nice indeed. The restaurant is upscale to say the least. My better half and I ate there two nights in a row and as foodies, we were very impressed. The Ahi Tuna was a new one for us. It's raw but don't be put off. It's delicious. As a whiskey drinker, I was very impressed by their selection and the bartender knows how to make an excellent Manhattan. The servers are very professional and go the extra yard (hats off to Lane). We try to get out of town at least once every couple of months, so we've stayed in a lot of hotels and have eaten at many restaurants. I would rate this one as one of the best. We will be going back for sure.

I'll preface by saying I believe that this is the best restaurant at the lake. It's most certainly the #1 restaurant accessible by water. I've been going here for a couple of years now and from the front of the house to the back they're always on point. We were fortunate enough to plan a small corporate retreat here. We needed multiple suites and a lot of logistics so we engaged pretty early. Communication was great throughout from the booking of the rooms to organizing a couple days worth of catering every meal for a large group. The catering exceeded expectations and everything was timely staged in the penthouse for our guests. We ate at the restaurant two nights in a row and they handled our large and boisterous group with ease. It could have easily went wrong with a 12 person group ordering from the menu but our servers nailed it and the kitchen performed. The rooms are phenomenal. Well designed and finely appointed by any places standards. Beds we're comfy with high quality linens and pillows. Appliances are high end and it's really clear the attention to quality is paramount here. Great lighting. It may also be the nicest place to stay on the water at the lake. Great space, great food, water access. It was certainly the perfect place for our retreat. Big thanks to everyone involved for taking care of us and setting the standard high. We'll be back.

As soon as we parked, the shuttle was there to take us down the steep hill. Love that! The ambiance was magical during sunset, the string lights were everything. We were sat quickly with no reservation, and our waitress was very attentive, checking on us frequently and keeping our drinks full. The food was absolutely amazing. We all cleaned our plates! The perfect ending was the gooey butter cake. 1000/10 we will be coming back.

A small group of us visited here 2 years back and it is a hidden gem. The Scotch, Bourbon and Whiskey selections were fantastic and the steaks out of this world. We will be visiting here again in August and bringing a larger group. Keep up the great service and selections.

Gorgeous place and wonderful food. What more can you ask for.

This place is my new favorite lake restaurant. If the ambience isn’t enough to bring you back, the food is surely to win you over. The scallops were definitely my favorite but there are so many dishes I still want to try. Will be back soon.

Great service from the time we were seated until we were driven to our car. Great food. 19 in our group and all raced about the quality.

Very enjoyable for food and drinks. And a great view of the lake! It was fun watching the boats coming and going!

I’ve wanted to visit here for a while and this afternoon afforded my wife and I the opportunity. I’m glad we ceased it. The visit started off on the right foot being greeted by a very friendly young man once we entered the restaurant. We chose to eat outside since the weather was so beautiful today. Our server was very pleasant and made some great recommendations for us. We started with the Charcuterie Board (highly recommendable). I had the Fish Taco’s and my wife had the Tuscan Chicken Sandwich, followed up with a St Louis Style Gooey Butter Cake. All the food was perfectly prepared, ample proportions and tasted great. Our drinks never became empty and we can not brag enough about the sense of teamwork I noticed. The host helping the server with running food & drinks and really stepping up! We can not wait to come back and bring our friends and family with us to this dining destination.

Kicking It to The Next Level A recent visit to The Lake of the Ozarks introduced me to a new restaurant, 1932 Reserve. I felt a challenge coming on so I went with it. Snuggled close to the shores of the lake, 1932 Reserve has visual appeal; dark and light woods, black tones and accents, the clean lines of the furniture in the patio as well as the outside bar area. The look felt right and welcome making you want to stay awhile. With my curiosity piqued, I decided to check out the inside of the restaurant. They nailed it! Upon entering, a long, beautifully carved, wood oblong table catches your attention. It appears to seat at least twelve people. The rest of the interior was open, clean and balanced with low and unique high-top tables and lighting fixtures. Even the back lighting from the bar area assisted in accentuating the space. Over the course of the weekend, I made two visits to the restaurant for dinner with my grandson. I started with a glass of Heinz Eifel Shine Riesling. Its mellow, soft taste was like that of a lover’s kiss. The presentation of the Mussels and Fries as a starter was wonderful. After some gentle prodding from my grandson who knows that I normally don’t eat this particular seafood, the fries were addicting and balanced the zesty taste of the mussels and the sauce they came in. The entrée, Crispy Chicken is pickled brined, topped with cabbage slaw and maple-sriracha. (I had them hold the sauce because I can’t tolerate sriracha.) Sweet pickles adorned the plate. The sandwich was okay, maybe because the key flavor was held back. Dessert was Strawberry Shortcake with waffles as the base, ice cream, strawberries and whipped cream. A light and delightful way to end our meal. Sunday’s dinner was a true front-runner. We shared the Ham and Cheese appetizer; Prosciutto, burrata, grilled fig, balsamico, EVOO and crostini. A cube of rich honey, enhanced the meal while treating the taste buds to a pleasant surprise. It was fantastic. The entrée prize winner for me was the 18 oz Cowboy Rib-eye topped with oyster mushroom bacon butter, pearl onions with seasonal vegetables and a potato puree. Oh-my-goodness! The whole meal was on point and this coming from a person who isn’t a big steak eater. I could not have been more pleased. My waiter, Richard was pleasant and attentive adding to this great experience. Overall: This new, upscale restaurant has a few quirks to work out, but it’s well on its way. Some of the menu items are a bit pricey, but if you want something that isn’t “run of the meal,” it’s worth it. The noise level can get a bit loud during boat racing events for those dining on the patio. Other than that, 1932 Reserve is definitely worth a try. It’s best to make reservations for weekend visits.

Delicious! Everything we ordered was perfect! Our server Angie was very informative, professional and pleasant. You could taste that the ingredients were fresh and everything made in house. Flavors and textures were perfectly paired. We started with crabcakes that were crispy, meaty and not full of filler, my husband had the cowboy ribeye and it was cooked perfectly, My Seabass was amazing, tender and flavorful. We will be back!

Tried this place after we saw this place was closed. To our surprise they don't do prime rib, lol. Let me tell you the food was awesome! The house and ceasar and house was tasty, the orecciette pasta and 8 oz filet was superb. Will definitely go back!!

My kids treat on Mother’s day, WOW! A+ to kids and the Reserve. I like what they did with this old Place, very cozy and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing. The goey butter cake…I DIED! Wonderful place and we will be back!

The ambiance & off the lake outdoor dining was beautiful. Our waiter Jessie was very attentive. My daughter asked for vegan options & chef Scott, came out & made such a delightfully vegetable & rice dish which included mushrooms, asparagus, and snap peas. Overall it was an enjoyable experience and I highly recommend for anyone coming to the area.

Went with my boyfriend on a friend’s recommendation. Had an amazing night! The atmosphere, patio, the music, the food, the drinks, the staff. Everything surpassed our expectations!! Our waiter’s name was Finnigan, as busy as he was, he was extremely personable and tended to our every want and need. Love, love, love.

I enjoyed my food!! I have all good words, reviews, etc...no complaints, you cannot go wrong here at all!! The food we ordered was to try whatever it was even if it's 2 or 3 entrees 3 appetizers bottle of wine plus drinks 🍸...oh, the parking and walking to this restaurant is a bit intimidating but, I had wedges on & we didn't arrive by boat, so we had to walk up/down the steps on a full belly!! What a good exercise 👏 following dinner!!! Ok, so bcuz we got what we wanted our bill total was $370+ tip Sea Bass, mussels w/fries, jalapeño pickled cornbread w/green beans, steak, crispy Brussel sprouts, filet mignon...I don't eat mussels but the sauce & fries that comes with it, I did eat & packaged the mussel sauce to use for later at home!! Do I recommend 1932 Reserve? Absolutely & treat urself &/or someone dear, it's worth the drive or visit if in the area!!

Very nice and clean. Upscale for sure, great dock with large Kate for the most part. Expensive but we do think the food is worth it. Sea Bass was to die for.

Highly recommended. This is a must if you live or are visiting Lake of the Ozarks. All the food is excellent and you are offered some unique choices. Try the Smoke Infused Manhattan...

Complexity of flavors, impressive and we will be back. The drinks, mussels and fries, even the chicken over a wedge salad was great! I wasn't expecting much from a salad and was very very happy that the chicken was juicy and tasty. The salad was over the top great. I see you 1932 Reserve! We will be back.

We stayed two nights at the Reserve Lofts and dined at the restaurant both nights, cancelling our prior reservations for the second night so we could return. Excellent service, atmosphere and food. And the Reserve Lofts? Don’t get me started. Exceptional! The only place we will stay at the lake. Super clean, updated, chic and beautiful design aesthetic and everything you need is right there. From boat rentals next door to 5 star dining downstairs you are covered. No need to Uber after your craft cocktails. Parking is right outside your door so you don’t have to worry about your vehicle. This was our second time to stay at the Reserve and will be back.

We have visited the 1932 Reserve and have enjoyed every visit. The food and atmosphere are wonderful. We have also always had amazing service. The last time we were there, Sara, was our server and she was so great! She was very happy, knowledgeable of the menu and took great care of us. We will be back!

We had dinner last night and had the Chilean Sea Bass- it is a must have! Also we had a couple of their specialty desserts that were over the top… the chef even hand delivered them. What a great way to finish the dinner!! If you have the option, definitely make 1932 Reserve part of your Lake of the Ozark plans

The mussels and fries is over the top awesome. Take the sauce home with and extra order of fries! The beet salad with grilled chicken was super. The salty chicken was a great compliment to the goat cheese and beets of salad. If you are looking for greens, this is not your salad. Overall, the service, the drinks, and food were wonderful.

We have been staying in the area for the week and this was by far the best meal we have had this week. Duck confit was awesome, my 12 year old son thought it was the best thing and stole half of my husbands dish. The mussel appetizer was a fun twist on a common dish. The corn bread was so delicious and worth it. Great service and great views.

From the moment we arrived at the docks (Victoria, the young lady who assisted us docking, is a hustling rock star!) until the moment we left, the service was phenomenal! Julie, our server, was attentive, informative, and non-intrusive. The food was fabulous as always. We had the Chilean sea bass (truly the best we have had anywhere), shrimp and grits (crazy good) and pork loin (outstanding preparation and presentation). The Smoked Pig old fashioned was prepared to perfection as well! We dined outdoors. The views are great, the area was comfortable and we were able to carry on a conversation easily. Reserve is, without a doubt, the best restaurant on or off the lake. The owners and staff have this place dialed in. It has become our go to place whenever we have guests or are celebrating a special occasion. If you are looking for great food, fantastic service and comfortable atmosphere, Reserve is the place to go.

Wow! This place is amazing. Food… incredible, and in the off season? As a local it’s an absolute privilege to eat here. We will be back!

Truly unique spot at Lake of the Ozarks! Delicious, creative menu options, excellent service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Even my kids loved it, definitely not your typical lake fare. We will definitely go back!!

We love this restaurant and we are so thankful for the chef. The meal was perfection from the appetizer to the dessert. Each course was delicious. The outdoor seating overlooking the lake added to the whole dining experience. It was a special night, that we won't forget.

Our group of six had an absolutely incredible experience at 1932 Reserve. The menu takes classic dishes and elevates them into pure foodie fantasy. Every bite felt like a chef’s love letter to flavor. The whipped feta with strawberry and pistachio was an unexpected starter. The mussels were fresh and tender, with a meaty tomato sauce, and the truffle deviled eggs were some of the best we’ve ever had. We shared lobster, salmon, and perfectly cooked sea bass, each prepared with exquisite attention to detail. From start to finish, it was an exemplary dining experience—impeccable service, beautiful presentation, and flavors that will keep us talking for a long time. Only recommendation is should have a sheet to describe the desserts, versus described by the server, didn’t do them justice to hear when in presentation they were so much more special then described. Highly recommend!

Overall we had a very nice experience. The food was good and service was also great. The menu and specials really seemed like they were almost trying just a little too hard though. Too many flavors combined and too much frill... especially given the atmosphere. I'd go back but not soon.

The design of the building definitely hits you first, and if you get the chance sit on the patio overlooking the lake.....great view!!! I had on old fashioned before dinner while we waited on our table. It wasn't great but it was good. The group next to me had the smoked old fashioned and the presentation was on point. They seemed to really enjoy them. For dinner I went with the Chicken Hash. Different from what I was expecting, but it was really good. I just wish there was more of it. All of the portion sizes are on the smaller side, so definitely get some sides with it. The other three people in the group got the 6 oz filet and really enjoyed it. The meat temperatures were on point as was the flavoring. I also enjoyed a Whiskey Smash with dinner. If you are in the area on vaca and looking for a nice place to eat dinner, this might be worth your time to take a look at. TIP: There is a golf cart that can come pick you up and drop you off in then parking lot if you have trouble with the huge steep hill or a lot of steps

We dined outside and it was great. While I enjoyed my dish, my gf didn't care for hers. The waitress did offer to make her something else, which was nice; but that would've messed up our timing (I'd be done with my food by the time hers came out). Nice view of the cove & docks. Got the mussel fries for an app, they were pretty good.

1932 Reserve is definitely on the pricier side. I ordered the salmon and for about $50 i don’t think it was that amazing. It was crispy on the outside and soft on the inside. it wasn’t the best salmon but it was definitely not horrible. personally i wouldn’t come here again just because i think this restaurant is more of a appearance over quality and quantity.

1932 Reserve has an identity crisis. Look at the website and it brands itself as an upscale restaurant with an elegant inviting atmosphere. We reserved a table for six expecting a lovely evening of great food, great drinks, and quiet atmosphere for which we would pay a premium. The good news is that the food and drink were generally great. When we arrived, I discovered that it 1932 Reserve is an upscale Captain Ron’s, with a giant patio packed with people. The quiet, elegant photos on the website are actually a very noisy and crowded indoor dining room. The din was deafening. The crowd was overwhelming. You will not have a quiet, elegant experience here. People streamed in and out of the side door walking right by our table all night long. Our server took our drink order, then came back for our meal order before our drinks arrived. I’m sorry? Are you in a hurry? This is an 8:00 pm reservation. After she took our meal order, we didn’t hear from her again. When the food came out from the kitchen, the chef and staff made a big production of bringing it all out at once. It was gorgeous in presentation. Except, my entree did not come out with the other five entrees in the party. No one said anything. There was no apology or explanation. My party waited for me to get my entree (the pork loin) which came unceremoniously a minute or two later. Again, no explanation or apology. Now everyone’s entrees have cooled off to match the rather lukewarm temperature of mine. The food was very tasty and beautifully presented. Just wish it had been hot. About half-way through our meal my wine glass was empty. Our server had never stopped to check on us though she was scurrying past the table regularly attending to her other tables. I finally held my empty wine glass up and attempted to get her attention. It took a while. I just sat there with my wine glass in the air. She finally stopped, seemed annoyed that I needed something. By the time she actually brought my wine, what was left of my entree was literally cold. The din in the inside dining room was so loud that the members of my party were practically yelling to be heard across the table. A large bridal party out for an evening of partying filed past us to the bar, then filed out, and filed back in later. Back to my original question. What is it that 1932 Reserve wants to be? An elegant upscale restaurant? Or, just another crowded venue on the lake and a stop on every bridal party’s pub-crawl? What I and my party observed that if you try to be both, you don’t do either one particularly well. What was marketed on the website and what we experienced in reality were very, very different.

This has always been our favorite place to eat and have never had a bad meal until last night. My wife and I went there for our Anniversary. My wife ordered snapper which was way over cooked which made it tough and chewy. My salmon was just average and was extremely small. Our potatoes were so tough and undercooked, we could not cut them with our fork and could barely cut them with our butter knife. Very disappointed because we loved this place. The waitress never ask if we would like a nother drink or how our food was. Don't know what is going on but they need to address the food quality. Expect more for a $160 meal for two.

This is an updated review from a year ago. Service and food at this restaurant have declined. Service was terrible hostess waa rude after we were not seated 30 min after our reservation . Manager was unprofessional and did not offer to fix the issue. Food was not as good as it had been in the past. The food should be top notch at this price point as should the service.

We reserved this as we thought the menu and ambiance looked great. We had an 8:30 pm reservation as it was Valentine’s Day and that is all that was left. The woman I spoke with to make the reservation acted as if I was bothering her and she was short and rude.We arrived right at 8:30. I went to the hostess and let them know we had a reservation. It was a young woman and what looked to be an older woman server. They looked at each other and it seemed like they were annoyed or there was an issue. I asked if there was a problem they said no but continued to be less than friendly. I was waiting on my date as it raining and he let me out to climb down the large flight of stairs. She kept trying to seat me when I had already informed her I was waiting on him before we sat. The attitude of being rude continued. We were sat and our waiter was just okay. I decided then that this place was not for us and we left. You all have some serious service issues, for the amount of money folks spend there they should be met with superb and welcoming attitudes. Unfortunately I was not.
