Thank you to all your amazing staff…! The food was out of this world, the wine was perfect & the service was out of this world. Jen was our waitress & she’s was so attentive to all our needs, whether it was water, more wine, boxes to go for food it truly was amazing! Plus I highly recommend this place for any dates or business meetings you have in the near future. G.D. Decorating & sons, choke clothing & choke fitness will be forever your customer- thanks again Giannis Cafè. I would also like to mention how amazing & hard the back of the house works as well…!! They all deserve a raise or least a pat on the bat in my opinion
Celebrated our wedding anniversary here and my goodness was is wonderful! Got lots of recommendations to come here and did not disappoint! The food was delicious, the drinks were great and the service was top notch! Can’t wait to go again!
I’m a frequent flyer at Gianni’s, especially for their Saturday and Sunday brunches. If you haven’t been yet, you have to check it out! The food is incredible, the vibes are cozy, and the whole experience is just so warm and delicious. Truly one of my favorite spots! 🍽️💕
I went to this restaurant with my mom and two young sons (4 and 6). It was my mom’s birthday and we wanted to celebrate with a nice meal together. It started out rough because my eldest spilled a full glass of water over the entire table. The server was pleasant and kind and didn’t seem to be bothered at all. She moves us to a different table so they could clean up the mess. With things now back to normal, we received our food orders and everything tasted great! My mom got a piece of tiramisu for her special day and I ordered one too. It went great with my cappuccino! We all had a great time, thanks to the friendly service and tasty entrees. See you again soon.
Met the wifey for dinner after work. Heard about the good reviews here. Easy place to find. Lots of parking and in an area that you can walk around after your meal. The service was amazing. The server was so nice and helpful. The food was great. Wifey had salmon with vegetables and side pasta. All cooked perfectly. I had the country rigatoni- amazing. Must have! @food_from_the_usa
Momma squirrel 🐿️ and I just stopped in for a first time visit and WOW, it was great 👍. Staff was great we didn't have reservations but was able to get a great seat by the window 😁. Or host Lori S was wonderful 👍, she made great recommendations. She's been working there 15 years and knows her business. The food was delicious 😋🤤. I ask myself why would anyone ever go to the fake Italia restaurant when you can go here. We hope to visit here offen and always with Lori S as our host.
Wonderful experience! Everything was delicious! Our server was friendly and attentive-- everything was perfect other than the ravioli kids meal. Not sure which kid would be satisfied with 3 smaller sized ravioli. Other than that, a perfect meal!
Love, love, love Gianni's Cafe. We eat there frequently as a family and take friends and family to visit. Food ofe fantastic and original and the specials are unbelievably delicious as well as the rest of the menu. We especially love the service. Angie is a doll and we have requested her to be our waitress multiple times. She really does take care of you and treats you like family! We tried the carrot cake tonight on her recommendation... We're always so stuffed with the food that we don't have room for dessert but this carrot cake is EVERYTHING!! Next time you're in ask for Angie and try the carrot cake. You won't be disappointed!! Thanks Gianni's Cafe for being one of our local favorites!!
Food deserves a 4.5 since my wife loves it I will round up. Atmosphere was great. Service was decent for a little family dinner.
We were here pre-covid and it was great to come back. Food, drinks, wine dessert all excellent. Service was fabulous. It was a really great evening out. Love the Filets and the traditional Italian dishes. The Christmas decorations in Palatine are beautiful. Nice to see and visit after dinner.
We have been going here for years and never have been disappointed! From brunch, to birthday dinners to fun evenings at the bar.
Diana continues to be an incredible server & am always treated with the best customer service when I'm sat in her section. Although all of your servers are incredible, I find myself being sat in her section most often. Keep up the amazing customer service, the world needs more of it.
The best spaghetti carbonara I have ever had. The restaurant is casual enough to make me feel like I’m never out of place, but fancy enough to be a special treat. When I am in the area, I always make a pilgrimage to Gianni’s.
The Veal Piccata was delicious! And a nice portion too, perfect for lunch leftovers the next day. The staff was friendly and efficient, I will definitely be returning soon!
We always get a very friendly welcome from the people working the hostess stand. The bar staff are friendly and never keep you waiting for a drink. The food is consistently excellent. Angie and Laurie are the best servers ever!!!
1/8 bartender was amazing from the Kildeer, damn if I can remember his name!! Also Austin is the best! I love seeing the Kildeer folks at the Palatine location.
I've eaten in and picked up to go. All food was excellent. Food served quickly. Staff was always excellent. I like that Giannis has seasonal dishes. Oysters eaten in restaurant were fresh and icy cold.
One of our favorite spots for dinner or a special occasion. Food is fantastic and service is great. Waitstaff is the best around.
A gem in the heart of Palatine. Great warm atmosphere, excellent service and, of course, great food. Don't hesitate and enjoy this great place.
Gianni’s is one of my favorite restaurants in the area. The food is consistently delicious , and the service is always amazing .
The Kildeer location has a lovely outdoor dining space with beautiful flowers and overhead cantina lighting. The staff is very friendly and spot on with recommendations. A great space for good weather dining.
Love this cafe. A favorite spot to meet up with friends, catch up, enjoy good food and wine, and pay reasonable prices. Highly recommend!
I'm a gnocchi guy and that's my go to. However, if they have a Risotto special that looks good, I'm all over it. By far the best Italian I have had, and I'm a foodie.
We often meet friends here for dinner and it's always a good time. During our recent visit our server Angela took wonderful care of our table! We'll be back again soon.
Staff is very friendly and helpful. The management team is always there to help and keeps trying new special menu choices to keep it interesting and new items to try but keeping the tried-and-true favorites on the menu.
Food and service are always great. I've been here many times with different groups and everyone has always been pleased. Highly recommend.
Gianni's is a great place to dine. Warm, friendly staff, and the food is amazing! We get there as often as we can. You won't be disappointed!
Love Gianni's, it's a neighborhood gem! I've never had a bad meal there. The food is consistently good and the service is the same.
Ginny our server was so kind. She didn’t rush us, explained the brunch and brought a birthday dessert. The brunch had something. for everyone. It was delicious! Breakfast and the popular Italian menu items served. The calamari was great. The made to order omelette also delicious. A great variety of food and bottomless mimosas!
We love Gianni’s. Before we had kids it was our regular Friday night spot for a drink and great pasta. Great size servings. Friendly and attentive staff. Great cocktails. So glad it’s so close to us!
I really wanted to leave an excellent review! My husband and I had dinner here to celebrate our nephew’s birthday. Everyone had been asking if I’d tried this restaurant before, and I finally did — I’m so glad I did! The service was exceptional. Lia was our waitress, and she was amazingly sweet and provided wonderful service. The food was absolutely delicious — I even joked that I loved the water! We also spoke with the manager on duty (I didn’t catch his name) to personally share our gratitude for the outstanding food and service. Overall, a fantastic experience from start to finish. I highly recommend this restaurant and we will be going back to enjoy it again!
Every time we head to Gianni's for dinner, we have a great meal. I always order the make your own pasta and am never disappointed. I often get broccoli and it's constantly cooked perfectly. The diablo sauce is spicy and delicious! Soup or salad is included with your entree. The minestrone is tasty and I love that they offer creamy garlic as a salad dressing choice. The desserts are huge and the layered chocolate cake and tiramisu are a favorite. The drink menu is appealing. Last time we went, I had a seasonal cocktail that went down a little too well! Gianni's never disappoints!
I think I go to Gianni's Cafe at least once per month, and sometimes more frequently. Normally, we sit at the bar where the bartenders are courteous, friendly, and attentive. And the food is absolutely OUTSTANDING. The country rigatoni is my favorite (without peas of course), but I have tried nearly every item on the menu ... and everything is outstanding. I live in the city, but I would put Gianni's up against any Italian restaurant downtown. It is my absolute favorite!
A cozy, authentic Italian café serving incredible coffee and pastries. The cannoli are fresh and delicious, and the espresso is perfect. The staff is warm and welcoming, making it feel like a neighborhood institution. A lovely spot for a quick breakfast or afternoon treat.
Gianni's is always a pleasure. We've been to both locations many many times, and it never disappoints. Great weekly specials, a great selection of choices for entrees, and fantastic wines and cocktails. Some highlights are the Fried Calamari Sicilian style, Chicken Giardiniera, stuffed peppers, Veal Parmesan, country Rigatoni, and eggplant parmesan. They are truly the best Italian restaurant in the Chicagoland area and a must visit!!
one of the best Italian restaurants in the suburbs. Every meal is great! I love their vodka sauce special with chicken sausage and pasta. The soups are great and so are the chicken dishes
Our absolute favorite Italian Restaurant in the NW suburbs for the last 5 years! Huge menu and every dinner we've had is beyond expectations! Their Chicken Francese/Chicken Piccata are 2nd to none! Incredibly tender. The freshness and tenderness of the chicken is incredibly delicious!
Gianni's is absolutely the best. We dine here frequently and cannot say enough positive comments. The food, the staff and the warm decor, it's like dining at home with better food and I don't have to do the dishes. See you soon Gianni's!
Best Italian and service, large portions, omg the soups are all amazing. My most very favorite place to go. Reminds me of the food in Lake Como Italy, the best I ever had. Mama Mia maybe cooking in the kitchen with all this talent :))) Cant wait to go again!!!!
My husband and I have to been to Gianni’s in Palatine several times. My friend and I used to go to the Kildeer location for lunch. We were sorry to see Kildeer close. We have always had excellent food and service at Gianni’s (and my lunch friend has very high standards).
One of the best Italian restaurants in the suburbs. Both locations are amazing and the staff at both have been there for a long time so they are all very knowledgeable and helpful. The food is amazing and made to order so everything is fresh and taste like mom’s old recipes.
The food is SO good. And it never disappoints. I’ve been coming to Giannis for over a decade and it’s a consistently great meal. Their Alfredo sauce is perfect.
My partner and I have eaten many times at.Gianni's in Palatine. We each have our favorite dishes that never disappoint. The service is always prompt and friendly.
Chicken Parm was good, large portions of chicken. I got the Veal vesuvio. Veal was flavorful and tender. Some of the potatoes were not fully cooked and still hard. Bread was crispy and fresh. Shrimp cocktail was good, but cocktail sauce needed more horseradish, not much flavor. I got the stuffed artichoke, nice and big, but way too much lemon. We got an order of meatballs to try. Meatballs were great, tasted like mom's Sunday meatballs, only larger. For desert we got the canoli. Filling was very good, wrapped in a nice thin crust drizzled with chocolate syrup. In their defense, it was Valentines Day and very busy. I would go back again, but probably skip the appetizers.
Overall, a very good experience. Wife is a big fan of the often-ordered salad with steak and Gorgonzola, and I usually have their chicken or a fish dish if on a daily special. We're been going there perhaps once a quarter for the last six or seven years. Always a good choice, although we were both a tad unhappy with our to-go chocolate cake dessert last time All in all, a solid 4-plus place to dine.
This is usually our go-to when we are in town, so we booked my husbands bday dinner here. Service was so slow, a few of us got the same dish and my brother in laws looked half portioned. My husband was wearing a birthday badge ( I made him) and the server never mentioned it or asked him if he wanted a birthday dessert. She also didn’t split the check 3 ways. Overall, disappointed. We even give friends gift cards to go there.
I made a reservation online for the same day. We were seated right on time although it was prime dinner time. The fresh bread with Parmesan was delicious. We also ordered baked clams and salads. I got the Cesar which was fantastic. My boyfriend got the garden salad which he enjoyed. For dinner I ordered rigatoni and chicken in vodka sauce, and my partner ordered chicken Alfredo. The only reason why I didn’t give it more stars is because as I took my first sip of wine I noticed it was a odd pink color. Upon closer inspection I realized the bottom of the glass had the stains of old red wine. You can tell where it was scrubbed and what was not. I could clearly see at the bottom a layer of dry red wine. I asked the waitress who seemed overwhelmed that night, if I would just get a new glass. She responded that it the dishwasher just didn’t get it all as if that would be enough to resolve it. I insisted if she could please just switch to a new glass. She did bring back the wine in a cleaner glass however it still had red wine crusted inside. That was my only complaint. If I’m eating out at a restaurant I expect it to be clean.
its an OK place to Go to. Ambiance - is beautiful. very italian.have some figurines and flowers. this location was established in 2003. The atmosphere was very calm and soothing music was on.we went in on weekday night and there were plenty of empty tables. Kitchen- open kitchen. looks clean. but manager and the other staff members were actually walking around and eating in the kitchen area. which was unacceptable for me. Reservations- not needed during weekdays but is must on weekends. Our server was very nice and soft spoken. with good etiquettes. Food- we got bread and olive oil. but the bread was stale and hard and they did not have any more bread. we ordered weekly special appetizer but they come back saying they are out of cauliflower. So we order stuffed mushroom. I would give one star to it. it is actually only stuffed with cheese and definitely over priced. did not like the flavor at all. we order Pasta and we get side of soup or salad. I got minestrone soup- which was very small serving size and was yucky. I had way better soups in other Italian restaurants. with other entrée got Salad, and salad was not fresh and did not taste good. Pasta - we created our own. Got rigatoni with alfredo sauce and Gnocchi with vodka sauce. they were the only good things that we liked in our whole dinner. Pricing- definitely OVERPRICED for the quality of food they are serving guests. I personally will not go back to this place.
Started with a 4:00PM reservation for 7 people. We sat in the dining room to the right. I was freezing, bring a jacket! The table started with the calamari- yum what a crunch! We asked for marinara though- it came with some odd thin red sauce. We also ordered the sausage and peppers. We suggested more fennel in the sausage around the table but still okay to eat. I ordered the eggplant parm and upgraded my salad. My upgraded salad was basically a whole meal. Somebody else ordered the same salad and asked for onions- and someone in the kitchen went onion happy. I enjoyed mine, the other person at our table… not so much. Overall, the eggplant parm was 3/5 but I wish it was not drenched in sauce for some or any crunch in the breading. I’d come back again for another try maybe sometime!
Food Thanksgiving was mediocre. Disappointed. Poor set up. Water was not refilled. Thought it was new owner as food was much better in the past. Nothing tasted home made. Wondered if food was bought elsewhere. Had to to face rest rooms when getting deserts which also were disappointing. Could not reach salad bar comfortably. Bill was $130.00 w 1 drink. Plus tip.
