We came all the way from the Canary Islands, and Los Candiles de Toño is the best place in Palencia. I ordered the cod Vizcaya-style, and it was spectacular; it melted in flakes, and the sauce was so good you could mop up every last bit of the plate with bread. For dessert, I had a semifreddo with chocolate and cream, and a mango and yogurt one that was absolutely delicious. It's a classic, old-fashioned place where they take good care of you and serve real food, no frills. The atmosphere is very welcoming, and the service is outstanding, especially that of Doña María José; but all the staff were incredibly attentive. In the end, they even asked us if we wanted tea or anything else. If you're looking for a place to leave impressed and with a smile, this is it. I'll definitely be back!

Amazing experience at Restaurante Los Candiles! From start to finish the food was exceptional every dish was full of flavor, beautifully presented, and cooked to perfection. The menu offered great variety, and there was something for everyone in our group (8 adults and 4 kids). The service was warm and attentive, making our large group feel well taken care of throughout the meal. The kids loved their dishes too, and the relaxed, familyfriendly atmosphere made the whole evening enjoyable for everyone. This restaurant is located in the heart of Palencia, just steps from Calle Mayor. The menu is varied and exquisite, featuring high-quality, expertly prepared ingredients. The service is very efficient; you're served promptly, and there's hardly any wait between courses. They are very attentive to their guests and incredibly friendly. The dishes are beautifully presented and generously portioned. I wholeheartedly recommend it, and I'm sure everyone who eats there will leave satisfied.

We were a group of 12 people. It's a very welcoming restaurant with two dining rooms: one large and another more private one for groups of 18 or 20. The service was excellent, everything was delicious, the portions were generous and beautifully presented, and you could tell the ingredients were top quality. The menu was very varied, the wine cellar was good, the prices were fair, and the service was very friendly and professional. For me, it's the best restaurant in Palencia.

Excellent service at this restaurant. I visited from Soria and everything was perfect. The entrecote was delicious, the place was clean, and the service was superb. A special mention goes to Jesús, who was very friendly and a true professional. When I return to Palencia, I know where to eat. Keep it up! :)

Wonderful. I'd never tried it before, and it's been years since I'd been there. The service is absolutely unbeatable, the attention incredible. The quality of the food is brilliant, the meat cooked on the stone without a single ridge, a buttery texture and a delicious flavor, with flaked salt that adds the finishing touch. The homemade desserts are out of this world, and I can say we've never seen such a variety of homemade desserts before. I highly recommend the cheesecake. I'd like to point out that we went without a reservation and they still treated us wonderfully. We'll definitely be back to try more.

We went to Palencia for the day. I booked in advance after reading the reviews, and I have to say we were right! Not only was the location, right in the center, the location, and the atmosphere very good, the professionalism of the waiters—one of them was particularly striking, and his youth and professionalism—but also the excellent food. Everything was exquisite!!! If we return to Palencia, we will definitely return. If you're in the area, go try it.

A typical Palencia restaurant with quality products and excellent service. Besides the menu, they recommend some off-menu dishes, several of which we chose and were absolutely right. Everything was spectacular, although some dishes were perhaps a little warm, like the sirloin steak, which was barely hot in the center, but the flavor was delicious. The house cake and the cheesecake are must-tries—they're amazing. It had been a long time since our last visit, and we highly recommend it. We'll definitely be back; you can't go so long without experiencing the cuisine and atmosphere of this classic Palencia restaurant.

A wonderful place in every sense, as you can clearly see the level of experience and the warm hospitality provided by the entire team. They have a very extensive menu with a wide selection of dishes, and the grilled octopus and the meat are highly recommended. Make a reservation and allow time to sample this restaurant, which is one of the best in the center of Palencia.

Fuimos a comer por primera vez en familia un domingo del mes de febrero. No nos costó excesivo esfuerzo la reserva a mitad de semana. El lugar es un restaurante que se aproxima más hacia el tipo mesón castellano, reformado y con ambiente acogedor. El vino recomendado nos pareció una muy buena elección (Damana crianza) y todos los platos que pedimos estaban perfectamente elaborados. Se puede decir que todo estuvo muy bien. Las raciones son contundentes sin alcanzar un precio excesivo. Es un lugar para no fallar en cualquier tipo de compromiso. En especial nos llamaron la atención las ensaladas de pulpo y sardina ahumada, también el atún de almadraba y los pimientos rellenos de gamba y chipirón. Volveremos seguro en nuestros regresos a Palencia.

Estuvimos cenando en familia y cenamos muy bien, buen trato, buen ambiente y comida muy rica. La única pega es que te ponen el pan sin preguntar y luego te lo cobran, deberían de preguntar e informar de que lo van a cobrar. Y ahí el comensal ya decide. Pero por lo demás, todo bien, cenamos bien. (destacar las gambas y calamares, estaban muy ricos, pero no hice foto)

Hemos comido bien y el personal es muy agradable.

Very pleasant atmosphere. Good food and fairly good service. We were served mainly by a very young but very pleasant waiter who was very knowledgeable about the menu. This is rare these days. The other guy (also very young) seemed a bit more relaxed. He had his phone in his hand the whole time. The stone-cooked meat was tender and juicy. I think it was beef rump, given the color and because it was barely infiltrated with fat. A recommended place.

Delicious food and excellent service. The meat was fantastic and cooked exactly as requested. The salad was beautifully dressed and a generous portion. My only concerns were the croquettes, the shoestring potatoes on the side were unnecessary, and the cheesecake was nothing special, but pleasant enough to eat. I would definitely return.

Good place to eat in Palencia if you are visiting the city or just looking for a place to eat well, very good service, very kind and friendly, the only downside was the tiramissu if you don't usually drink alcohol a bit strong, but everything was very good, moderate price

Servicio muy borde, poco atento y desagradable. Hay restaurantes mucho mejores a los que ir cerca del lugar. Mesas y sillas muy incomodas y con poco espacio (patas de las mesas entre las piernas). Hay wifi pero se niegan a darlo. No pongo 0 estrellas porque no se pueden Reading other reviews I can't undersand how they rate the restaurant with 4 or 5 stars. Food it's fine but quite expensive, service is definetly horrible. Poor space and worse if you are a big group. The restaurant crew doesn't pay attention to clients, especially unpleasant with kids. Some waitress don't wear the specific clothing. The menus are written in spanish, english and french but they dont mean the same. ¿? Please do not come. I gave it 1 star because there is no a 0 star option.
