The decision to come here was made after some intense ensaïmada research. This is an absolute legendary place. The decor is just amazing. Super traditional with many antique/old details. The ensaimadas are super good! I don’t have a sweet tooth but the Ensaimada cabello de ángel tastes like quality for sure. I also tried the traditional Cocarroi what I also loved. It’s a Mallorcan pastry with spinach, pine nuts and raisins. Very nice and great to try traditional flavours from the island. The lady working here was very helpful and friendly. She explained me things of the menu I didn’t understand and helped me make the right choice. I ordered a large Ensaimada cabello de ángel to take home as a gift and I could leave it there so I didn’t have to carry it around with me all day. This is definitely a plus for us tourists. The box is lovely and the price great. A super souvenir. I really wish I had more time (and space) to be able to try the amazing flavours of icecream. I shall return for sure.
So actually there's a few of these dotted around Palma, but I think this one was the original ? The decor was certainly "authentic" and rustic. I purchased an ensemaida and a hot chocolate with whipped cream. Absolutely delightful and a huge amount of calories 😂 but with it. Hot chocolate was half cream and definitely very rich and indulgent. The ensemaida was really light with a crispy crust to it.
A charming, centuries‑old café that feels like stepping back in Renowned for its freshly made ensaimadas, thick hot chocolate, and homemade almond ice cream—all at very reasonable prices. The vintage décor—hydraulic tiles, dark wood, hand‑painted signs—adds to its nostalgic atmosphere. A beloved local institution where heritage, warmth, and artisanal flavor come together perfectly.
We stopped by Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo for a midday sweet treat, and it definitely hit the spot. It took a few minutes to get seated and to place our order, but once we did, the service was quick and efficient. We ordered the hot chocolate, almond ice cream, and the original ensaimada. The hot chocolate was rich and comforting—though not the most indulgent I’ve ever had—but the almond ice cream and ensaimada were standouts and ones I’d definitely order again. Unfortunately, they were sold out of the chocolate ensaimada, but that just gives us a reason to come back! The café seems like a great spot for families—we saw plenty of locals with kids enjoying themselves. And the prices were very reasonable: all three items came to under €10, which felt like a great value for a classic Mallorcan experience.
We tried this cute, Spanish café today and can only recommend it. The inside is absolutely beautiful, with old wood furniture and elegant decoration, it creates a cozy atmosphere. There was a polite waiter who was really friendly and brought us our order fast. To the food I can only say: try it! The cake is delicious, rich in flavour, the ice cream soo creamy and the Horchata was extremely good. If you wanna have an authentic café experience you should definitely check this café out :)
A very pleasant place, where I started my every day, because of the freshly baked on the spot ensaimadas. The hot chocolate did not make me such a big impression as previous reviews say but the fresh, hot, airy pastry was really amazing, every day. I can not recommend eating any of the others, as I don't know how fresh they'd be, the one I tried wasn't, but the simple, regular one is really a reason to go back again, even though I did it 3 days in a row in my stay in Palma.
Was planning to go there after sightseeing Palma because of the excellent reviews, but I didn't know it would be such a good experience. It was scorching hot outside, so going in and being welcomed by a strong AC, was a relief. I had a chocolate ensaimada and a chicken pie, so it was like a perfect lunch and dessert in one. I loved the decor, and they even have an interesting way to settle the bills. Instead of paying to the waiter, you put the money into a machine yourself. I've never encountered something like it before.
I came here following a recommendation. Amazing place to take a break from sightseeing or shopping. Great selection of ice-creams, also vegan for lactose intolerant. Good selection of high quality coffees, but most of all best pastries I had in all of Palma. Be sure to at least get a taste of their simple Ensaimada, even though all of them are amazing. The staff is quick and efficient and tries to deliver good service, seeing how busy this place is.
A beautiful traditional spot for pastries and coffee dated back to 1700. The service was amazing, the waiter recommended we eat the pastries with our hands and dip in coffee. Yum! Then he offered some ice cream on the house since it’s our first time, the almond ice cream is different and delicious; you can actually feel and chew on the crushed almond. Hot chocolate is not the best.

This was a beautiful find. A really gorgeous coffee salon tucked away from the bustle of the shops. Delicious pastries and a lovely atmosphere. Will definitely be back next time we visit Palma.

Great local place to go and have the typical pastries. A very good service and atmosphere and which is best, at very good and fair prices
We discovered Ca’n Joan de s’Aigo with my friends, and we just loved it! It’s a real local gem with a cozy, traditional atmosphere. The ensaimadas were so fresh and delicious, and the almond ice cream was amazing. It felt authentic and full of charm, definitely a place you shouldn’t miss when in Palma!
We discovered this café while searching for a place to have coffee on Google Maps. After reading the many positive reviews, we decided to visit and it was absolutely worth it. The staff was very friendly and the food we tried was delicious. It may not be an extraordinary place, but the interior design and unique character give it a very special charm. It feels like stepping into a café from the 1940s or 1950s. We especially loved the decorative tiles and the bright and airy atmosphere inside. If you are nearby, it is definitely worth visiting for a drink or a meal. You will leave happy.

Cute traditional but touristic place. The service was very nice but overwhelmed with the amount of people. There was no organization, people were waiting outside and some people suddenly talked to the waiters to get ahead. Which resulted in some people waiting 40 min and others not even 1 min. Leaves an unpleasant feeling. The food itself was good even though some stuff were sold out early in the day
