We went there a few days ago and then again today, and the server was so warm, kind, and friendly—she’d honestly make a great doctor, nurse, or caretaker. The food is delicious and the service is wonderful. There’s an open house literally next door, and if I lived there, I’d probably come here every day. We really love this place and would love to be regulars!

What an experience! From the first moment I walked in, I was greeted by the most beautiful and charming waitress. The inside was very colorful as was the new and unique menu. Every single item on the menu sparked my interest. I wish I had a bigger stomach. As a chef I get very bored of menus these days with the same options wherever you go. Almost as if people have lost their love of food or ability to create. This place is everything but that! Healthy, beautiful, mouth watering menu items with fresh and unique ingredients. To start I ordered a pot of chai tea. It was brought to me in a small iron kettle. The aroma was memorizing and once it hit my pallet I was transported to another time and place. All the stress of my morning commute just washed away and I was suddenly able to truly take in the morning morning all around me. For my entree I ordered the South East African special. The fava beans with garlic bread. It was a cultural culinary masterpiece. An explosion of flavors from the first taste. I ate it as slowly as I could to really soak in and cherish each carefully crafted bite. My waitress was very attentive and kind and I was even given the option for more garlic bread for my dish when I started to run low. Even the bathroom was an unexpected little gem beautifully decorated. This dining experience was one for the books and although I live hours away, I will be back here as often as I can and share this BEAUTIFUL BISTRO with as many people as possible. Support this business. Spend your money here. Let's keep this place going as long as they desire. We need more food and more people just like this.

Lovely brunch early Sunday afternoon. The neighborhood is nice, but parking may take some effort. The menu has many tantalizing options at a fair price. Don’t miss the biscuits with homemade blackberry jam.

Came to Oakland with a group of guys from my church in Minneapolis Minnesota. We was looking for a breakfast spot to dine in Friday morning the 9th. The establishment accommodated us at the last minute(group of 14) With one waitress and one cook that day, the service was phenomenal and the food was amazing. We doubled back that Saturday morning because of the excellent service we received. I will be back next time I come to Cali.

Ended up here after another place was too busy, and I’m so glad we did! We got the smoked salmon eggs and the chicken sausage omelette. Both were delicious, as was the (very large) cappuccino I got. Lovely service, too. A perfect brunch spot!

My partner and I came here for breakfast on Saturday morning around 10am and were seated immediately. The menu is loaded with many great options. We went with the breakfast burrito and the California Benedict. The food came out extremely fast, and was delicious. The service was very friendly, warm, and attentive. Absolutely love this place! Food is amazing, the service is welcoming and the atmosphere is comforting. Highly recommend! I’m a regular. French toast with all the berries/carmelized bananas and chicken apple sausage omelet are my favs!

I had an early meeting and wanted a quick breakfast. It was around 8 am. I saw the Blackberry bistro was open so I popped in. The server who greeted me was nice and got me set and served quickly. I got a smoked salmon and scrambled egg breakfast. The eggs were fluffy, just perfect. There was a generous amount of salmon with an dollop of cream and capers. Nice fresh greens and a delicious buttermilk biscuit rounded out the meal. So good!

My husband and I have been here 3–4 times now, and we absolutely love this place. It’s always very clean, and the food is fresh and delicious. We went in yesterday for a early breakfast then we took a walk down our favorite trail. We ordered the prawn and grits with a side of applewood bacon, which I technically shouldn’t be eating since I don’t eat pork 😅 but it was SO good. It also came with a soft, fluffy biscuit. We shared a side of eggs, and everything was cooked perfectly. We also ordered the Indian tea with ginger, cloves, and other warming herbs, perfect for this season. Sally, who is usually our host/waitress, is incredibly sweet and welcoming. She always checks in on us, and we’ve never had a single complaint about the service or the food. If you haven’t tried this spot yet, definitely add it to your list of breakfast/brunch places. It’s located in a beautiful area in Oakland and is absolutely worth the visit. Thank you Sally!!

Super friendly and welcoming service. So happy they have vegan diner options for breakfast!! Tofu scramble was delicious. Big menu with something for everyone and reasonable prices. Don't sleep on thr blackberry jam that comes with the toast! Will for sure be back.

Plating was absolutely stunning. We got sat right down when we arrived and we didn’t have to wait long at all for food. We had a larger group and they worked very well around us. All around golden!! I loved my experience! The cafe Is cute, clean and a nice ambiance for weekday brunch with friends. The service was excellent! The waitress was friendly, knowledgeable and patient. The food was delicious!! I will definitely return!

They served it with a salad which was good but I would have enjoyed potatoes for breakfast. They also didn’t have any coffee. The machine was broken. And other than that the tables just looked sort of unkept. Black table cloths show lint. Why use table clothes at a very casual breakfast joint?

The food was lacking a lot of things. Let’s start with the eggs,I ordered the omelet the eggs were burnt and my Father had order poached eggs they were over cooked as well as the center should be goey in the middle. Next the potatoes there is wasn’t many on my plate and they lacked flavor, wasn’t cut uniformly which messes up the taste of the dish. The biscuits were really large and lacked the flakiness and was on the doughy side. There were sliced tomatoes on my plate but they were over ripe which made them look unappealing and felt like they didn’t belong on the plate. Overall I was disappointed coming here because I read food reviews and I didn’t get that type of service.

This was my first time coming to this restaurant and it will definitely be the last time!!! Came to this location day before Halloween...and had the worst service! An hour wait!!! While there were hardly any customers inside the restaurant. The customer service was the worst as well! Took forever to bring the food and the beverages. This place needs quicker and efficient service or they will lose valuable customers quick!
