Opinions de Sato Ramen House Pasadena
The service and food here were amazing! My partner and I came here for dinner over the holidays and our food was AMAZING! We ordered the Gyoza, Yuzu Shio Ramen, Tonkatsu Ramen, and a shrimp tempura. My partner ordered his Sapporo and he loved it! The Yuzu Shio Ramen had a citrus-y taste which tasted different but incredible! My boyfriend enjoyed his Tonkatsu ramen! It wasn’t too salty, it was actually perfect! We were really impressed and already were deciding what we’d order to try next time. The table next to ours ordered the eel and it looked delicious! We also had an extremely kind server! I believe his name was Robert(?) he was extremely knowledgeable about the food and restaurant & gave amazing suggestions for the next time we’d return. Overall, we absolutely loved this place and are excited to return!
Delicious broth in an enjoyable setting, would definitely go back for lunch or dinner. Spicy tonkatsu was definitely the move for me, we also ate the fried calamari which came out extra crispy
After returning from Japan I was looking for similar delicious authentic Ramen. Look no further. Top tier Ramen house here with fresh ingredients, delicious food, perfect noodles, and meat that just melts in your mouth. I come here weekly and I will come here weekly. You can’t go wrong for any of the four Ramen options, but I always go for Tonkotsu. If I’m not feeling the best the Yuzu gives that tasty lemon flavor. The spicy Tonkotsu gives it a little kick.
Old Pasadena seems to have a lot of two things, delicious ice cream/dessert shops, and amazing Japanese/Ramen restaurants! I've gone to most of them, but Sato Ramen House may be my new favorite. The karaage fried chicken with lemon mayonnaise on the side is a crowd favorite. Just the right balance of tenderness and crispness without the oily heavyness that some fried chicken can have. I usually get Tonkotsu Ramen when I try a new Ramen joint, but this time I went with something I never tried before, the Yuzu Shio Ramen. I have to say it was amazing! Tonkotsu tends to be thicker and more savory because of its heavier pork broth. In contrast, the Yuzu Shio Ramen is light and refreshing! It is a joy to eat and I thoroughly enjoyed it. I only wish there is an option to add extra noodles because I couldn't get enough of it! This ramen consists of slow cooked chicken broth with Yuzu, with Chashu, 1/2 Ramen egg, lemon and lime, green onion, marinated bamboo shoots,, baby spinach, and nori. Overall, looking over the menu, there is so much more to explore, so you can bet that we'll be back here soon!
Great place to stop in for a nice home cooked meal! Their chili sauce is home made and one of the waiters was kind enough to pack me some to leave with, even though they said they didn't it!!! A must try if you've never had ramen and a must stop if you love ramen!!!
Excellent ramen, extremely fast and kind service. Quite possibly the best I’ve had east of DTLA. Every part that makes ramen legit ramen, was done perfectly. For $17 this is pretty crazy ngl.
Loved the restaurant atmosphere and the spaciousness between tables. We tried the yuzu shio ramen (really unique by virtue of the yuzu flavor, super delicious, finished the whole bowl), the tonkatsu ramen (solid, delicious, three party members liked it), the karaage (crunchy, nice texture), and the takoyaki (perfect). Everything tasted great. Serving sizes were good. Will return sometime.
Haven't been to Pasadena in a long while and glad that we were able to try this restaurant. It was pretty packed for a Wednesday night. We waited a while to get seated, maybe 30 minutes or less. Service can be improved as the servers seemed to be short staffed last night. Both servers last night were still very accommodating to our needs. Ambiance was laid back and chill! Not too crazy loud, still "quiet" enough to have conversations while enjoying the amazing food. The chicken karaage was amazing! It was the perfect mix of savory and crunch delicious! The soft shell crab bun was very, very good too! Mind you that the mayo can be a bit spicy. And for the ramen!!! I'm usually not a Shoyu person when ordering ramen, but the reviews here just made me do it. I'm happy to say I did not regret ordering it as I was able to finish everything. Only downside with the Shoyu ramen is that it only has half of the egg.
New restaurant, I love the space here, very cozy! We ordered Yuzu ramen and spicy ramen! Both are very delicious!! Plus the crab bun, it’s amazing! Never had it at other places. Definitely will go visit it again!!!
I came here because of the Yuzu Ramen. Yuzu is one of my favorite Japanese foods which has a very special flavor and taste. Normally, you can only have Tonkotsu Ramen in most of the Ramen restaurants in the US. Their Yuzu Ramen is super delicious and you can taste the Yuzu in the noodles. I love chashu which they grilled before serving so you can taste the pork. Tonkotsu Ramen is very good too. By the way, if you love heavy taste, it might be better to choose spicy ramen. The service is something they need to improve. I have never gotten my water refilled.
Everything we ordered was delicious. We ordered the gyoza, karaage chicken, and both original and spicy versions of the tonkotsu. I recommend all! Service was quick and we were immediately sat on a Monday night.

The foooood is sooo delicious! I can’t wait to come back.
While visiting California, my friends and I had a great experience eating at this restaurant. We called to book a reservation, but they stated they only took reservations for 6 or more. When we got there, they still reserved us a table since it wasn't too busy. While eating, the restaurant staff would go out of their way to make sure our drinks were filled without us asking. The food was wonderful, and we all left the restaurant happy with our selection of gyudon, unagi, and curry. I would happily go back to this place if possible.
I've eaten here several times and have always enjoyed our meals. Ramen is the focus here with authentic flavors. We enjoyed the garlic edamame as an appetizer and the breaded pork cutlets as well.
Absolutely fantastic, for a second we second guessed picking the best of the ramen houses but quickly realized we did hearing the other tables speaking Japanese! Our tall skinny server was great, atmosphere does that classic Asian blend of Kentucky gas station and bamboo Feng Shui, and menu stretched out to show off more than expected appetizers but less bowls. I suppose when the ramen is real good they can only offer four kinds! We started on a crab pocket, egg omelet roll, and gyozo. That crab was delicious. Three ramen bowls appeared, did spicy on mine. Perfectly seasoned and heated, we all enjoyed ourselves. Got two to go to see how my friend's parents like their first ramen. Sato is definitely the easy recommendation for Pasadena.
Have tried a few ramen spots within the past few years and have realized Sato Ramen is the best! With atmosphere when walking in I’m greeted and am told to sit wherever. Everyone working here is very kind and professional. Always choosing the spicy ramen and receiving my food hot. The ramen is full of flavor and has never been a let down! They have a great selection of appetizers and drinks that compliment the food. Its all affordable and I have recommended this place.
My fiance and I recently visited this restaurant. Our original plan was to visit another Ramen spot, but they were too busy and we were very hungry. We found them on Google and decided to give them a try. This place was very clean, very friendly and very delicious. We will definitely be back and they have definitely been pushed up to one of our top spots for Ramen.
Food was great. Got full. Price was reasonable. Would come back. House sake good. Good price. Ramen was tasty. Gyuza was real good.

Excellent appetizers!! Ramen was also very tasty, rich in flavors; charsui pork just melts in your mouth! Great pricing and service. Highly recommend 👍🏼
i would come back for the ramen but nothing else on the menu. ordered the tomagoyaki (Japanese styled omelette roll with sausage and topped with ketchup and mayo). 3 stars out of 5: nothing stood out but it wasn't bad. could skip. two Tonkutso remen, one original and one spicy. yes yes yes. the broth is so good and u can taste the pork flavor coming through it. the portion is pretty good. i didn't finish mine but i definitely drank up all the soup.
I tried the Yuzu Shio Ramen. It was fairly good light and refreshing, but not something I’d rush back for. The chicken based broth with yuzu, lemon, and lime had a nice gentle flavor, and since I prefer lighter ramen over rich tonkotsu, this one suited my taste. The yuzu aroma could have been a bit stronger, but overall it was pleasant and easy to eat. A decent bowl for those who like mild, clean flavors.
Good service, good appetizers, but average ramen. Karage chicken was very juicy and tender, and the steamed egg was very well made. However the main event is somewhat disappointing, the yuzu ship ramen had no yuzu flavor at all, just a couple of slices of lemon and lime (which is not yuzu!!) on top, the tonkatsu is also just alright, nothing special to note. All of the ramen were quite salty as well.

Coming from Hawaii my knowledge of Japanese cuisine is high. Chose to come here because of the 4.6 rating on Google however the rating does not match the food unfortunately. This is a my biggest pet peeve when Japanese restaurants owned and operated by non-Japanese try to sell authentic Japanese food. The food here was an abomination. This restaurant is not authentic. The tamago yaki has an imitation crab stick in the middle of it. The karaage chicken was “breaded” and my tsukumen broth was thickened with cornstarch just like how Chinese soup is thickened. I have had better ramen in an airport. This place was a disappointment and a shame to real authentic Japanese ramen. 3.9 stars at the most.
