Opinions de Green Street Café Pasadena
Their salads are my favorite (I bought 3 bottles of their lime vinaigrette to go) but all their food is good and we appreciate the option for outdoor seating
My parents and I found this tiny Mediterranean spot when my girlfriend was at Huntington Hospital, and we’ll travel to Pasadena just to eat there again. The hostess/chef/proprietor was so warm and lovable, we felt as though we were guests in her home. She is justifiably proud of her chicken, the lula is the best I’ve ever had and her garlic sauce is so smooth and deceptively potent it could be an old R&B singer. This place isn’t fancy, it’s genuine. I can’t wait to go back and have another delicious meal cooked by a woman that feels like my new favorite aunt.
The food was excellent. I had the chicken and rice with the parcly salad. Very tasty. It also came with something that looked like Pita bread. With my lemonade to rinse that down, it made for a awesome meal.
Been getting my hair cut down the straight for about twenty years but just discovered this place today! Been looking for a place with chicken gyro wraps which hasn't been easy. Ordered one for my wife and I to try and really liked it! Nice couple running the place. Nothing fancy but good food and some outdoor tables you can have lunch outside. Will stop by here when I have haircuts every month for now on.
Delicious food and very friendly staff. You know it’s going to be good when you walk in and smell the wonderful aromas. Party of three split baba ganoush, falafel (4), large Greek salad, and a green cafe plate. All were delicious. They gave us a complimentary ashta saraya dessert which was creamy goodness.
Very pleased with the quality of the food. It was fresh and flavorful. Everything was delicious! They made us feel at home. I'm looking forward to my next visit!
Lovely intimate little cafe with incredibly good chicken and beef. The owner is very kind with outstanding customer service offered at a great price. Definitely recommend and would go again
Amazing food at affordable prices. Tastes so fresh! We had the greek salad, hummus, chicken kebab pita and Ashta Saraya for dessert. Everything was delicious and we can't wait to come back and try more dishes.
Found this little spot on google and it had high ratings. Definitely didn’t disappoint. I had the Chicken Kebab Wrap and it was delicious! The right amount of tenderness and dressing. Diana was very helpful and kind. The food is made fresh per order so make sure you give yourself enough time. We ate here when it wasn’t busy and it took about 10-15min for our wrap to be ready. I can only imagine it will take longer if it’s busy.
Diane the owner is a great host. Small Cafe with out door sitting available. Food is excellent. Try her desert, a great mix of nut with pudding and filling. Quite unique. Very happy I found this place
Diana makes everything fresh…I advise my coworkers and friends to order ahead of time since it’s not fast food. The Greek salad with chicken is my go to. Always fresh, healthy and it taste delicious.
My friends and I were in town for a class and eight of us dropped in for lunch. The food was fantastic! We all ordered different dishes and loved them all. The chef didn't lie when she said she makes the best chicken! Not much room to sit inside, but the warmth and friendliness of the staff made it very welcoming. I'm only sorry I live far away and can't eat there again until I'm next in LA.
The place easy to find. If I could I'd give this place 10 stars. The rice, chicken and beef very flavorfu. The meat was so tenderl! The owner of this establishment was extremely warm and welcoming, made my day. Especially since most restaurants don't have the actual owner come in to check on you. Giving it a more personal touch.. I'd definitely will return for more of their food. Give this place a try. You'll be glad you did.
I would give them six stars if I could. The food is authentic, absolutely delicious, made with good fresh materials. The place is nice and cozy and the staff are super nice. The chef lady checks on you to make sure everything is ok and you're enjoying the food. I mean where else you would see the chef kindly checking on you?! It is also a family business and they're doing it good.
This food is delicious! I love Mediterranean food and have tried many restaurants and this one is probably the best in Pasadena. The lula kabob was juicy and flavorful and the rice was tasty. This is a mom and pop restaurant and they were very kind. The prices for the meals are also great. It’s no more than Zankou but the quality here is actually worth it.
Been here twice and we’ve been LOVING this place! Small mom and pop restaurant in the corner with outdoor patio. The lady is so kind and friendly and you can tell she makes everything with so much love and passion. Their beef kebap plate is our favorite so far, the beef is so tender and perfectly seasoned and even the rice is so scrumptious!!! I love wrapping the beef, rice, and hummus with pita bread and bites of charred pepper and tomato balance out with the juiciness. The lule kebap plate was also very good, the seasoning is unique and appetizing. The falafel was so fresh and crispy and packed with flavor! Their pricing seems reasonable for all the work that goes into it and for the portion. Well worth it :)
Best falafel ever. The owners are very friendly. Love this place.
Green street cafe knocked it out of the park! Any time I’m remotely near Pasadena in the future, I’ll be going out of my way to grab a meal here. Really truly a special experience! My whole group was impressed with everything we tried. The standouts for our table were the rice, falafel, and ashta saraya. This is the best Mediterranean style rice I’ve *ever* had! I’m a huge falafel lover and this is one of my favorites I’ve tried, and I really like the shape they cook it in so you get a lot more crispy surface area. The ashta saraya was simply outstanding! The service was also beyond awesome. This restaurant is clearly a family-run labor of love. Their pride in what they serve definitely comes through in their overall service; the owner brought my table multiple things to try just because she knew we would like them! They also took extra care around dietary restrictions.
Amazing food! Wish I had a picture to share, but I was too excited to get started on my plate. Family owned business with friendly and welcoming owners. Clean location and located near shops and popular Colorado Blvd. They'll be seeing me again and you should come by and try it too.
First time customer. Visited September 2022. I went here for dinner with my mom and it was empty. Customer service was great, tables weren’t the cleanest but overall place was well organized and cozy. Prices were reasonable and I like that there was some parking spots behind the establishment and on the street (2hours I believe ). Will be coming back.
Fantastic food at reasonable prices and the owners are very friendly and nice! Plenty of outdoor seating too.
So so good!! I used to work at a Mediterranean restaurant when I lived in AZ and honestly, I hadn’t found a place I loved as much as that restaurant. Well this place has done it for me! It was SO delicious!! I had a chicken & Lula combo plate and shared a veggie plate and an order of falafel with my sisters. The food was fresh, the rice was amazing, the chicken was juicy, and everything had so much flavor. The service was also great and the staff were so kind and funny! They even gave us a free desert at the end. <3 I 100% recommend and I will definitely be returning. :)
Felt like a regular when we walked in. Diana’s recommendation did not disappoint. Best chicken in town (and so was the falafel)! The food and service were amazing. Visit Green St Cafe and say hi to Diana and Rafa, you won’t be disappointed.
I love this place. Their food is amazing. I’ve tried their food three times and it’s always so comforting and never disappoints! And I am pretty picky with food. My boyfriend ordered me this for our online date night. The serving is huge. I ate them in three separate times. The first time I tried their food I ate there and it was raining and I was seated outside. They turned on the heater for me and even gave me a free falafel. Thank you so much!
I've been meaning to try green street cafe for a while and I'm sad I didn't try it sooner. The kebabs were delicious!! The beef steak and lula were so juicy and flavorful! The chicken was good too but I liked the beef ones better. If you are new, I highly recommend you get the combo so you can try a bit of everything. Totally worth it! The hummus was rich and creamy and the grilled veggies were super good too. They have outdoor seating so I look forward to walking over with my dog next time instead of doing pick up! There is plenty of free street parking on green street. Highly recommend!
Hidden Gem for Mediterranean Food Lovers! If you’re craving something fresh, flavorful, and satisfying, this spot is a must-try—even if it’s a bit under the radar. The Greek Salad with Chicken is a standout: crisp, clean, and refreshing. The chicken breast is incredibly tender and juicy—perfect even for those who usually avoid white meat. Trust me, this salad might change your mind! The Combo Plate (Beef, Lula & Chicken) is a true feast. Served with fragrant rice, creamy hummus, grilled tomato, Anaheim pepper, and warm pita bread, it’s a complete and hearty meal. Every bite bursts with flavor, and the quality is top-notch. Don’t skip dessert—Ashta Saraya is a dream. Lightly sweet, creamy, and wonderfully aromatic, it’s the perfect ending to the meal. This place may be small and not well-known, but the food speaks for itself. Clean, fresh, and made with care—definitely worth a visit!
The food was very fresh and delicious! My falafel was perfectly spiced and my fiancé got the chicken & beef platter and the meat was fantastic. Also the fresh pita bread was the best. Definitely would come back here!
Went to this quaint, cute little cafe for lunch and our party of 4 had the lula kebab, beef and grilled chicken wraps, Greek salads, hummus and I had the soujouk. Everything was delicious and the owner/chef who waited on us was super friendly and happy to explain anything we didn't understand about the menu. The desserts were fire as well!
Their Falafel is fantastic!!! We got a side of it with the Chicken Kebab Plate. The Falafel looks like fried donuts and has the perfect crispiness to it and tastes so good with their garlic sauce and hummus!! Their pita bread was so warm and soft and complimented everything well. The rice they use is delicious and flavored and textured so well!! We sat outside but unfortunately fell victim to some mosquitoes. It is a nice setting outside with their lights and you get a little view of the mountain. The small disco light was a little too much though. Service is a little lacking only cause it’s a couple running things. We asked for water (and we had biked here so I was extra thirsty) and after 10min, had to ask again. I also noticed the lady owner talk a lot to the big group that came after us and we never got any acknowledgment (just a “how are things tasting” would have been nice cause I was ready to compliment!).
Delicious! the falafel is the best ive ever had, way better than other places. The chicken plate was also fantastic, especially the rice. My wife and kid also tried the Ashta Saraya pastry and they loved it. If youre in the area, this is a place you should stop by for some super fresh food! The owner was also extremely nice and welcoming. These types of businesses should be supported always.
First off amazing. You know what makes a great small restaurant.... The people. The owner is amazing, kind, on top of everything and always wants to make sure you feel like your eating a family members home. So aside from the people let's talk food. Great portions for a great price, you may have to wait a couple minutes but it's well worth the wait. What your get is fresh, flavorful and full filling plate of food. The garlic is perfect not to strong but not to bland ethier, the hummus has you thinking you could eat this all day.
Middle Eastern food I feel has become so commercialized. There’s no personal touches. HERE however, you’ll find Diana who is now your Mother, friend, Aunty, and the absolute sweetest soul you’ll ever meet! When she says her chicken is the juiciest, and most flavorful chicken you’ll find, BELIEVE IT! We got the combo meat platter, Greek salad with chicken, and the desserts she had. All were to die for. Every plate is made FRESH so it takes about 10/15 minutes and it’s well worth it! The food quality paired with Diana’s warm and welcoming personality can’t be beat. The photos you see under this business aren’t the ones you find with the beautiful lighting and perfectly laid out plates because this is REAL food. My partner and I loved everything about our experience! This was our first time but from here on out it’ll be our new spot.
This place is really good!! I tried the falafel and a combo plate and everything was excellent. The desserts are tasty too. The people are really kind and thoughtful too. Definitely will come back.
Great service. Made fresh to order and worth the wait. The combo plate had so much flavor. Staff is incredibly kind and welcoming. Will be coming here often!
This is the most authentic mediterranean food you will taste in the entire LA area. The ingredients are so fresh and the kitchen is spotless clean. Here you'll also find chicken that's super moist and portion sizes that are very generous. This is family-owned and talk about a family! I just want to put them in my pocket and bring them home with me. (Diana, you are so loved) From the beef gyro, to the chicken kebab plate, to the ashta saraya dessert, to the armenian coffee... Everything I tasted here has made me wanna slap my mama. Highly, highly recommend.
Pros: Excellent quality of food savory and tender meat. Delicious. Seemed like very nice people working here. Restroom is super clean and well stocked. Cons: It’s expensive and the amount of food they give was not enough. I could eat two of them if I could afford it. The plate in the pic plus a bottle of soda and one pita bread was over $20. The small eating area inside is cramped with 4 wobbly tables. Considering how the flavor of this beef kebab has haunted me for weeks, its a 5 star hands down. Next time I have an extra $50, I would not mind coming back and doubling my last order. Definitely go and taste for yourself and see what I mean. Its bomb

My mother and I had the absolute best chicken sharma plate and dessert. We were referred by my dear friend and lawyer Patrick Baghdaserians. The owners were incredibly hospitable. We will definitely make the drive in the future from Westwood! Simply the best!!!
Hidden Gem! Everything we had was fantastic. The baba ghanouj was homemade, the chicken kabob wrap was freshly grilled, and the Soujouk sandwich was authentic. As someone who lived in the Middle East for over 13 years, it was a true taste of home. Also, the couple who ran the restaurant were incredibly kind, making it definitely worth the visit!
Delicious and worth the drive! Came from Upland for date day with my hubby. We like Mediterranean food. This was the BOMB! I got the Lula kabob wrap. Would get this everyday if it was closer. Hubby got the chicken Kabob plate. Chicken was delicious and not dry. Sides were yummy! Can't wait to come back. Owner was kind and enthusiastic. Husband tried the Armenian coffee, it was strong but my Vanilla latte was great.
Amazing cozy spot in Pasadena! Food portions were huge and at a very good price. I got the chicken kabob plate that comes with 5 big chicken pieces, on a bed of flavorful rice, with a big side of hummus and grilled veggies! Diana (I think owner) is a warming welcome into the restaurant and caters to every need. Definitely coming back to Green Street Cafe :)
An incredibly lovely spot! Not only was the food delicious, but the service and people were so friendly and kind. I got the combo plate and all the types of meat were very tasty, and truly I’m obsessed with the hummus and garlic sauce. Highly recommend grabbing a bite (or a feast) at this small but memorable spot.

I visited this Mediterranean café and overall had a good experience. The flavors were nice and the food was fresh. The only downside was the portion balance — there was a lot of rice and not enough meat for my taste. I also didn’t understand why my meal was served in a to-go container, and I received disposable utensils instead of regular fork and knife. It took away a bit from the dine-in experience for their price. Still, the place has potential, and I hope they improve these small details.
There is not very much seating in the inside and it's a very small space. Luckily it was a nice day outside, so we ate there. The Lulu plate was very good. Great seasoned beef matched perfectly with the rice. The chicken gyro was just okay. I like having tzatziki sauce in the gyro and it was not present. Instead, they make theirs with a sauce similar to mayonnaise, so I don't recommend that unless you prefer a more mayo flavor. Overall, good service and sizeable portions.
