Opinions de Lutong Bahay Restaurant Pittsburgh
This is The PLACE to go for authentic Filipino food. The kind that makes you long for the days that your Lola was still here and would make one of her signature dishes. Eating Lorenas food and having the banana lumpia after will leave you feeling full and nostalgic like being wrapped up in a blanket of good Filipino comfort food. Give it a try I especially love the breakfast. Don't forget the banana lumpia it's the best in the bay
We are regular customers of Lutong Bahay and food is always on point! From breakfast silog to noodles, everything os so good. When craving for Filipino food, this place hits the spot.
Excellent, authentic Philippino food made to order. Every dish I've tried has been extremely good. Friendly staff, easily my favorite restaurant in Pittsburg!
My wife and I have been looking for a good Filipino restaurant for a long time and this hands down is the best within 20 miles of here at least! We are so pleased with the food, so fresh they do a lot of cooking to order and we will be back many times it was our first visit very pleased with the quality of the food!
A small Mom & Pop rrstaurant but their food is great. They have different kinds of silogs (fried rice toppings). Good amount of portions too.
Love it!!! Such a hole in the wall. Everyone that works there is friendly!! Especially Mama xoxo Lumpia is addicting!! Sinigang is my Fav with Garlic rice.. Yummm. Ive never tried something and not LOVED it..
First time here wasn't really sure what to order besides the dishes I'm familiar with which are pancit and lumpia, so I asked the hostess or owner I'm not sure but she rung me up, really friendly and nice young lady, she recommended the lechon which was a mix of pig ears and pork belly so I got that along with some garlic rice, lumpias and pancit everything was delicious, a guy there even offered to help me out with all the to go plates, I loved it all can't wait to try more of there dishes, I love the Filipino people they're just like us Mexicans with an Asian twist
I ordered the shrimp lumpia, teriyaki chicken, fried chicken, and pork chop it was so good. The staff was very friendly. This place came recommended to me and I'm very thankful for the tip. I will be going back
The food was great and fresh. I walked in and it felt like family.. Super nice owner and will definately make the trip back their very soon.
Ordered party trays and let me tell you my family of 50 loved the food. Will be ordering again!
Best place to get Filipino silog dishes. This is our go to spot. Great prices, made fresh so there is a wait, and plenty of parking in the back.
Food is excellent! Everyone there are super nice and you will feel that they genuinely care for their customers.
Best chicken adobo. I've ever had. The owner was super sweet and made you very comfortable. Will definitely go back and tell my friends
Love it... freshly cooked to order, stuff is very friendly, they even offered to walk my food to me if i was at the hair salon next door
Great flavors. Lives up to the name. Just got back from Manila and had cravings. This place really hit the spot.
Every aspect of this dining experience was incredible. It was my first time here. The lovely woman who greeted me (I'm assuming the owner) walked me through the menu and made a couple of suggestions. I ordered take out and she made the short wait very comfortable. It is clear that each item is prepared with love, as every bite was perfectly seasoned. I had the pancit, lumpia, beef stew daily entree thing, and flan. All delicious. All reasonably priced and good portion sizes. Just yum.
4/25/18 I can't really drive by this place without popping in for some sour soup and lumpia. If you aren't in a hurry, sit down and enjoy fresh, hot Filipino food, and get a cup of the soup on the house. If you are in a hurry, call ahead. It's a very small place and orders can take a while since they are very popular. Consistently good with very friendly service. I wish they were in Concord!
So good! Come here every time I come to Pittsburg and love that they offer authentic food for a great price. The Cashier is super nice and spent her time explaining everything on the menu. Please support small local business.
Food was fresh and delicious
As a Filipino I enjoy the classic style Filipino restaurants like those in the Philippines. Have a great selection of food and the ones that aren't preprepared are made in a convenient time frame. Food here is delicious staff is friendly and they also engage in small talks. Will definitely coming here for more food soon!
I can only write about my excellent experience with their Chicken Lumpia Shanghai (100 pieces). I always order this when we attend a family party in the area. The lumpia is well made (nice and neat,) crispy (not overdone) texture and tastes great. Highly addictive.
The lumpia is amazing and the pancit is delicious! They're super helpful and I've never had an issue with an order. Both times I've ordered items from Lutong Bahay the food disappears past! Definitely check them out.
Been coming here since they first opened, but I don’t live in the area so can’t eat here as much as I want. Excellent, delicious Filipino food whether it be for yourself or for a whole party. A must try!
Went for Breakfast after our visit to the Barber Shop. It was so delicious. Got to meet the owner she was so nice. And I get it. For some it’s a bit pricey. But every went up since Covid. Overall I was very Satisfied with the service. Thank You. Would not Recommend to eat inside. Take Out is Best.
This place confirms the fact that the best eats always come from small family owned and run joints. I have never tasted Filipino food this delicious! The people who run the place as well are super friendly and even teach you the basics of what to order and how to eat it (if you are unfamiliar with Filipino cuisine). When you're here, you're like a part of the family.
If you happen to be in Pittsburg CA and would like to have some Filipino dishes, please come and visit Lutong Bahay! The menu has a wide selection to choose from. It is really a taste of home! The pork sour soup which is sinigang in filipino is really good. They usually ask if you want some soup on the side! The silog meals are recommended too! If you are a fan of dessert, you may want to try the ube halaya and leche flan! (forgot to take photos) The owner and staff are very friendly! ☺️
I can eat ten lumpia in a seating, so good! The Pancit was really good too! The lemons included were fresh and very juicy 💯went well with the pepper.
Everything that they make is so delicious from the lumpia, empanadas, sisig, sinigan, lechon kawalea and halo halo

This is an amazing family owned Philippine restaurant. The Owner and Staff are absolutely amazing, they are so hospitable, warm and caring, they make you feel like you are part of their family. They serve amazing food ,The fried Vegetables are wonderful, the chicken Adobe is excellent. It would be worthwhile for anyone to visit this little gem.
Looking for something we can’t get in our small town and came across this hole in the wall. THE BEST! The Lumpia was incredible. I tried sisilog. So yummy. Will be back.
This was a great find (by my husband who doesn’t really look for Filipino food). He had combo plate with fried chicken and chicken teriyaki and garlic rice. He is a fried chicken snob but he really liked it and he liked the teriyaki chicken. It was a bummer because he chose this place for the chicken skewers but they didn’t have any. Next time. I had the Tocilog (tocino with egg) with steamed rice. The flavor was right on and I’m so happy each meal came with two eggs. I do like my tocino a tiny bit more browned but it was super good. For dessert he had halo halo. He really liked that their ice was more finer than normal. I had something many Filipino restaurants don’t carry and I’ve missed. Mais con Yelo (hielo)! My ice wasn’t as fine but it’s okay. It took me back to my childhood. I loved it. The place has three four seater tables, it was tight but they also have a couple of tables outside. We will definitely return when we are in the area again. Oh and they had Choco Nut so I bought one.
Love this place ❤️ I go at least once a week and they never disappoint. Food is great and the staff is always so kind. I'm so happy I've picked this spot as my go to for Philipino food 😍
So good just what I needed everything was so comforting and tasted home made
A simple interior to dine-in, but the food is amazing. The fried bangus is exceptional, as is the adobo fried rice Kare-kare on Sundays 😍😂😍😂❤️❤️ Hold me back!!! Every employee is friendly and you would very much enjoy everything they make on the menu
We had tapsilog, a 5/5 and Kawsilog, a 5/5. We also order side pork sinigang but it came out like pork nilaga so I give their pork sinigang a 2/5. We also order pork bbq a 5/5 for flavor. Tiny place with few tables inside but the outside had few table
If Filipino food is your staple, this place always gets it right! Even your lolas and nanays will love it. If you want to try Filipino food for the first time, this is a great place to start. I think Filipino food hasn’t broken out yet like Thai, Viet, or Japanese, because not many can do it right. Lutong Bahay, however, has been a consistent favorite and ALWAYS does it right!

My first visit to this quaint petite restaurant. I ordered chicken pancit and vegetable lumpia to go. It took about 10 or 15 minutes. The cashier was pleasantly cheerful. The total was $11 and some change. It has been a long few years since the last time I had pancit at a potluck. I just had a craving for it today. Anyways, while driving home, I grabbed a lumpia to munch on and it was cold. Not room temp cold but refrigerator cold. I thought it could have at least been heated in a toaster oven, which is what I did with the remaining 3 pieces when I got home. The lumpia came with a dipping sauce which tasted like vinegar?? The chicken pancit was steamy hot, down to the last morsel and very good. Nice portion but only one lemon wedge. I have to remember to take pictures of the food, dang it!! I was hungry, haha!! -The mail lady
sometimes my egg is not over easy as requested.
This is a standard Filipino Turo-Turo for California - hot food in a cafeteria style order set up like Panda Express. If you want good standard Tagalog eats then come here. So far I've had their pork sinigang, ...silog breakfast, and their dinuguan: I loved them all. I'm a repeat customer for sure. Plus the owners and their kids are often there to great you and take care of you.
Our local Filipino joint. My wife is so happy to come here and get food she loves. Price is good. Staff and customer service is great. Food is great too! Small seating section inside and outside.
Lutong Bahay is a solid spot if you’re craving Filipino food in Pittsburg. The place feels homey and low-key, and the food definitely tastes like it’s made with care. Portions are generous and the flavors are comforting, especially if you’re familiar with Filipino home-style cooking. Service was friendly, though things can take a little longer when it’s busy, which is why I’m giving it 4 stars instead of 5. Overall, it’s a good place to stop by when you want something filling and authentic without anything fancy. I’d definitely come back.

All the silogs were amazing I ate them all!! But the fresh lumpia though not so much! The peanut sauce taste bad and the fresh lumpia had bokchoy that would make the fresh lumpia bitter. The choco crinkles are brownie texture it should be between cookie and little bit brownie texture. its all chewy to me its not what i remember on my childhood days!
Very small place. Food was good. If you want a complete Filipino breakfast, this is a good choice. I probably wouldn't order from the ready to eat section, but I'll go back for breakfast.
I've come here many times with my grandkids. They made delicious food for me the sariwang lumpia! But one day I ordered pancit bihon and it tasted sour like it already had lemon sprinkles on them Disappointed. Did not file a complain because I plan to try them again. Please not too much salt!!!!
Small establishment with limited seating. If you don’t mind eating in a small cramped dining area with flies flying around you while you eat, this is your place. Super unkept dining area with dirty plates everywhere, hence the flies. Food was just okay.
It used to be that when you placed an order. You would be satisfied with the service, quality, and quantity of the food you would receive. I usually order the sinigan and always ask for extra meat. I have no problem paying more for it. Today, I ordered my usual from someone I had never seen before and asked her for extra meat and 2 scoops of rice. Got home ate my soup and noticed I got more bones than meat. All soup and 3 jalapeño that I really don't care for, no eggplant /vegetables and a slight change on taste of soup. Rice was kind of hard, but not fresh and sticky the way I used to get it. On top of that, she gave me a small cup with more soup on the side that I've had plenty of and not extra meat as I requested. Sorry to say, but service has not been the same since the beginning. I paid OVER $20, mostly for soup, a little bit of meat, and hard rice. I'm not just placing a review for today, but the last couple of times, I've gone there. Each time, hoping things were just a fluke. And sorry to say I'll probably/most likely stop going there. It's just my experience not speaking for everyone else

Very disappointing! The halo halo that I used to order before when Tita Lorena still the owner is the authentic filipino halo halo. Sana the new owner keep the same ingredients and standards as to what it used to be. I also noticed that ube milk!!! Hindi po masarap sa totoo lang. Ibalik nyo po yun dati halo halo.
First time here and Ordered for lunch. Saw the sign about one egg due to shortage. Um, that shortage is over. Mind you they had 3 cases of eggs in the fridge. That was already a red flag. 🚩 Cashier wasn’t that friendly. Weird looks from Filipino staff in the kitchen. Kids blaring their iPads in the dining room. We should have left but since we are raised like “considerate” Filipino-Americans, we wanted to try the food. Sisig silog: one egg 👎🏼, too many onions and red peppers. On the salty side and hardly not enough meat. Bangus sisig: on the salty side and too many onions and peppers. Just Average. Had much better. Lomi: Not bad but on the salty side. Also, we said dine-in yet they packed our food for to-go??? They also only provided utensils for 1 person. We were 2 customers. On top of the iPads blaring she decides to turn on the tv with music while we are eating. Do they not want diners? They should say “to-go only” or put up a sign! We took this as being rude and disrespectful. First and last time here and highly Would not recommend.
Location not in the good spot. The site closed not sure if this will open again. The Google map should update it.
