Opinions de Steeltown Coffee & Tea Pittsburgh
I love their Chai drinks here. It has a lot of flavor compared to other coffee shops. Great location in downtown Pittsburg. There's lots of parking by the cafe.
Fresh drink served by lovely people. Thank you. Btw, they have outdoor seating, so great for you and your pets, too..
Steeltown serves the best espresso in Pittsburg. I love their seasonal menu, definitely try the Dragonberry Matcha. The staff are super friendly and always helpful.
10/10 recommend you come and experience this coffee shop! Everything we ordered was amazing
I recently had. Power outage and remembered a local coffee shop in downtown. Decided to go in order a vanilla iced latte which was miles ahead of Starbucks or Philz. Bagel came with cream cheese on the side, wish it came already spread! Otherwise it was a pleasant experience and the macchiato I had was one of the tastiest in the area. Definitely going to return!
Hibiscus & Lavender Iced Tea + Ham & Swiss Panini that came with a bag of chips! Prices are pretty inexpensive which was nice! I've never gotten used to the fact that this is inside a bank but I love the little coffee shop. Their menu is honestly my favorite thing about this space, I couldn't stop looking at it while sitting and chatting with friends.
Great place to gather spend some time with friends. Service is very good and the coffee is excellent... Best mochas ever...
They have the best selection of gluten free treats in town. It means so much to know I can go and get a GF muffin or bagel without the risk of cross contamination. Also, these people know tea. No paper bag tea strainers here! Our barista even comes over to let us know when the tea has steeped for thr optimal amount of time. The wifi is fast, the people are friendly, the coffee is delicious. Update: I'm making it a goal to go through just about every drink on the menu. So far, the Italian soda and blended matcha latte are both 👌

Best Coffee shop on Pittsburg. You can't go wrong with their Mocha. Like a treat from heaven.
Best coffee in town. The owner, Adrian, is wonderful. He and his staff are friendly, professional, and know what they're doing. They don't over-roast the beans! I wasn't much of a coffee drinker until my girlfriend introduced me to Steeltown. Try the honey badger!
Have been coming here for years, I looove this place so much. They have the best drinks! My favorite is the lavender latte but I look forward to their speciality drinks- the orange, cardamom latte was so good and the Dubai mocha is heavenly. The drinks here have a way of staying with you so you look forward to getting them again. The ambiance of the shop is cool and they have a neat point system where they can just look you up by name and you can collect free drinks and they don’t seem to ever expire which is such an awesome treat when you’ve earned one!

Best coffee shop in Pittsburg. Really top notch coffee in the Bay Area!! One of my favorite places

Yes, will gladly rate this place with four stars for the quality of beverages, selection, policies and great hospitality. Make sure to try few house blend roasts, which full of flavorful aromas. Will be back for more pleasant experiences.
Very cool coffee house. It's located in the same building and shares lobby space with a Mechanics' Bank. It's a little odd when you initially walk in. I took a little jaunt out to Pittsburg, CA just to see what was in that city. However, due to it being a holiday many of the stores were not open, their downtown area is small but cute. Like I said the coffee house shares the building space with a Mechanics' Bank, but it's cute, quaint and different, which I prefer. I wasn't sure if I had found the right place, since I had heard there were comfy chairs. When I walked in, I first noticed the 4 person tables with white linen tablecloths, before I saw the chairs. Seemed a bit odd for a coffee house. Both baristas were really helpful, friendly and nice! It actually seems more like a little bistro, rather than a coffee house. I ordered the Dark Cocoa, surprisingly it was only $2.50 it was really good, tasty and definitely hit the spot for me. I had wanted to try their quiche, but unfortunately they were sold out. I do like that their menu is written on their wall, of what seems to be made from some kind of wood or material that is like a chalkboard, as some of the text for their products was smudged. Because it was a holiday, parking was a breeze. It's all street parking with a 2 hour limit and no meters, nice!!
Colocated in a bank building this cafe has lots of cool seating, especially on hot and sunny Pittsburgh days.
This coffee shop is actually inside of a bank. Once you are by the coffee it does feel like a separate space. While I was there the bank was closed. They had these really fancy looking coffee roasting machines. You know the coffee is truly their own unique flavor. I wanted a fun coffee drink since it was the weekend, but they didn't offer coconut milk so I had to settle for oatmilk. Got the honey cardamom latte. The honey cardamom was good but oatmilk sucks in coffee. I'll go back to try their black coffee. 4 stars due to no coconut milk. Also only 2-3 gluten free food options. And 1 was a brownie. NEWSFLASH FOR ALL RESTAURANTS: GF people don't live off eating brownies for breakfast, lunch and dinner! Get some real options.

One of the best places to find good espresso in the east bay; consistent quality, cozy atmosphere, and a good selection of seasonal drinks…. I do have to take off one star because Adrian said he would back the Apple Chaider (chai made with apple cider), he never did, this totally ruined my Christmas.

I literally asked for extra hot chi tea and got a room temperature chi. My children are doing an outside sport and wanted a hot drink and it was cold. We are at the end of December and most drinks are going to be hot so making sure people get what they asked for should be on the top of the list. Just in case you are asking the age of the children it's high school level. They can handle hot drinks so make sure you train your employees right and people will get the drinks perfect. It's hard to find good workers wanting to do their jobs right and making coffee is a easy job so get it right or quit.
The coffee here is great, and I used to love coming here. However, I started to notice a pattern that made me feel unwelcome. One time, I came in for a study session and was waiting for my classmate to arrive. I hadn’t purchased anything yet because I planned to buy coffee for both of us when she got there. I understand businesses have policies, so I brushed it off as a one-time thing but similar situations happened several times afterward. On a few occasions, I would buy a coffee when I arrived, but our study sessions lasted longer than an hour. He would come back and ask if we were going to buy anything else, which made us feel pressured and uncomfortable, even though we were already paying customers. The last straw was when I was working as Census worker. I had my census bag with me and was in the neighborhood working. I needed to use the restroom, so I decided to buy a coffee first and then politely asked if I could use it. He still said no. Since public restrooms were closed at the time, I had to rush all the way home. I really enjoyed the coffee, but these repeated experiences made me feel unwelcome, which is disappointing.
Owner was really rude to me and my friends we came in with food from another establishment nearby and didn’t know you couldn’t bring in the food to eat. He basically yelled at us and told us to get out, that this is a restaurant you can’t bring in food outside. There was definitely another way he could've communicate that. Last time I checked it wasn’t a restaurant it was a cafe but I digress. The drink I ordered was alright. I ordered a Dubai chocolate Mocha. My experience was definitely ruined by the owner. Please get an a new owner this one is super rude and weird.
Went there recently. I waited and waited for my order. Then I got up and went to ask what was going on? The barista guy just casually said “oh somebody else took your order. I’m going to start over”, and didn’t apologize or care. I ordered the blended latte not realizing that it is an ice blended drink. I let him know that I want a hot latte. Then I waited for that and the latte tasted like only hot milk. Ten dollars for that. My home coffee is better.
I’ve been coming to this coffee shop for years and today something unexpected happened. I was taking a zoom meeting that I needed to get to so I decided to just stop by and quickly take my call inside. Then half way through my zoom meting one of the employees comes over, rudely interrupts me, and in the most passive aggressive way asks if I’m going to buy something and if not then I need to get out 😂 What a joke of customer service Really? That’s how you plan on building a loyal following? Many times ive gone to small and large chains of coffee shops and have NEVER been approached in such a way. Theres even been times when I finish my calls at shops and then buy something on my way out. Never coming back here, though, that’s for sure.

Terrible management. The energy there always always feels ..off. They messed up my drink, I asked nicely if they could remake it cause I can’t drink it. They said they “can’t remake it due to policy, but just pay for a new drink.” Despite THEM messing it up (which they admitted). Employees started to scoff and roll their eyes at me. No biggie, but just not worth the bad service and would much rather support small businesses with kind owners. Go elsewhere if you can!
