Opinions de Turan Uyghur Kitchen Plano
This was my first exposure to Uyghur food and can I say, I can’t wait to come back. Almost every dish was a knockout, from their samsas which are like a better version of a samosa and dumpling, to their fantastic hand pulled beef noodles, to their flavorful lamb skewers, my friend and I couldn’t get enough. The Uyghur milk tea and the yoghurt are quite refreshing and make a perfect refresher. Notably, everything feels healthy, with minimal oil and low sweetness and fresh tasting ingredients. I look forward to trying again!
Turan Uyghur Kitchen is an amazing place and absolutely worth trying. The food is very delicious, full of flavor, and clearly made with care. There is an incredible selection on the menu, and everything feels thoughtfully prepared and authentic. The staff are very friendly and welcoming, and the service is excellent from start to finish. You feel comfortable the moment you walk in, and the kindness and hospitality really stand out. It feels like a place that values both its food and the people it serves. This restaurant deserves a lot of appreciation and support. If you are curious to try Uyghur cuisine or just want a great meal with amazing service, Turan Uyghur Kitchen is seriously worth your time.
The most delicious Korma Chop hand-pulled noodles, savoury lamb & chicken dumplings, and scrumptious Gosh Naan! Can't recommend this place enough. The staff were helpful and polite ❤️
We tried ugyhur food or the very first time and believe me it was so good. Something different then we usually eat.
I had Uyghur food all the time when I lived in China, and I always believed it would do amazing in the States. This is the first one I’ve found here, and it did not disappoint. I can vouch that it is very authentic, more so than I expected to be honest. It’s sooo good. Such a unique cuisine. It’s like Middle Eastern food and Chinese food combined. Highly recommend!
This restaurant has a unique menu for sure. The noodles are beautifully long and thick, and biting into a mouthful satisfies that Chinese food craving you have. If you want noodles in general, go for the Korma Chop. If you want noodles but spicy, get the Fried Rice Noodles. If you want saucy noodles, get the Laghman. The dumplings are small bites of savory goodness. That's what I had at my first time here. There's also samsas, gosht naan, lamb skewers, lamb pulao, fried rice, and more. If you want a unique restaurant that's Zabiha halal, this is the place.
Just tried Turan Uyghur Kitchen and WOW — this place is a hidden gem if you love bold, comforting flavors. We started with the handmade dumplings, and they were incredible. The wrappers were soft and delicate, the filling was juicy, and the chili dipping sauce had the perfect balance of garlic, spice, and umami. I could honestly eat that sauce with everything. Then came the Uyghur laghman noodles — thick, hand-pulled noodles coated in a rich, savory sauce with beef, peppers, and greens. The noodles had that perfect chewy texture and soaked up all the spicy, aromatic flavors. Every bite was packed with warmth and depth. What makes this place special is that Uyghur cuisine blends Central Asian and Chinese influences, so you get bold spices, hearty dishes, and lots of handmade components like noodles and breads. The portions were generous, everything tasted freshly made, and the flavors were seriously addictive. If you’re the type of person who loves discovering unique, authentic spots that feel like a food adventure, this place is absolutely worth the visit. Already planning what to order next time.
FAVORITE HALAL RESTAURANT/HIGHLY RECOMMEND: I had a couple of friends in town who are picky eaters. They can’t say no to meat and noodles so this was the best place to take them. I ordered the big plate chicken with beef and chicken dumplings. The entree comes on a bed of noodles with very flavorful sauce. If the entree isn’t enough, they offer an additional serving of noodles for you to add to the entree. The food was delicious and the service was great. I highly recommend!
Amazing food with even better service. From start to end the staff and owners make it feel like we are at their home for an intimate family dinner. We were given great recommendation and family style servings are best for sharing. The taste and quality of the food is on point. We intentionally ordered only 2 items from the menu so we have an excuse to come back and order other items later. Point to note is this restaurant is HMS certified ensuring highest adherence to Zabihah halal standards.
I’ve visited this place twice and truly loved every experience. The food is absolutely delicious, and since moving to Austin, I’ve been really missing authentic Uyghur lagman. The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the customer service is outstanding. A wonderful place that I’ll always remember fondly.
Went here for dinner one night and it was amazing!! I’ve never had Uyghur food before and this restaurant was an amazing introduction to the cuisine. We got the Korma Chop, Big Plate Chicken, and Lamb Skewers. The noodles are hand pulled and the flavor of everything was phenomenal. Owner was also very friendly and atmosphere was very homey and cozy. Will definitely have to come back here. HIGHLY recommend!!
Excellent food! Lamb shank polow, lamb samsa, Uyghur beef laghman all excellent. I would eat this meal tomorrow! Noodles hand-pulled and perfectly chewy. Cumin in rice and other flavors in tomato sauce noodles just right, not too overpowering. Like eating at a friend’s house whose grandma is an amazing cook :)
First time trying Uyghur food and honestly, Turan Uyghur Food did not disappoint. The taste reminded me a bit of a mix between Central Asian and desi flavors, but still very unique. I ordered the laghman noodles and lamb kebabs, and both were really good. The noodles were freshly made, soft but with a nice bite, and the stir-fry on top had this amazing, slightly spicy sauce. The kebabs were juicy, smoky, and full of flavor – reminded me of Pakistani seekh kebabs but with a different spice profile. The place itself is simple, nothing fancy, but the food speaks for itself. Portions are big and filling, and it actually feels like proper home-cooked food. Also, the staff were super friendly and explained the dishes since it was my first time trying Uyghur cuisine. Highly recommend if you’re in the mood for something different but still comforting and flavourful.
Turan Uyghur Kitchen in Plano offers an exceptional dining experience. The inviting atmosphere and welcoming service create a comfortable setting. The culinary offerings are outstanding, with each dish showcasing vibrant flavors and meticulous preparation. The hand-pulled laghman noodles are perfectly textured, the lamb kebabs are succulent, and the naan is freshly baked. The authenticity and dedication to quality are evident in every aspect of the cuisine. The staff's attentive service and willingness to share cultural insights further enhance the overall experience. This establishment is highly recommended for those seeking to discover the depth of traditional Uyghur cuisine. Superb. As you can see, we cleaned out the plate, it was that delicious.
We called about an hour before closing and they greeted us warmly and welcomed us in. The owner and his wife were incredibly kind and friendly. The restaurant was spotless and the food was outstanding. We especially enjoyed the Lagman, Lamb Shan Pelow, Fried Rice Noodles, and Korma Chop. Everything was flavorful and freshly prepared. Highly recommended.
An authentic Uyghur family restaurant with very friendly service and atmosphere. I visited this place with my siblings and all of us were extremely satisfied with everything. Samsa’s were so delicious, I strongly recommend them. We ordered Korma Chop and Uyghur Laghman and they were so tasty. You can find traditional Uyghur Rags and Music instruments on the walls with paintings.
Turan Uyghur Kitchen in Plano is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the warm hospitality and cozy ambiance made us feel right at home. The food was nothing short of amazing — every dish was bursting with flavor and beautifully prepared. The hand-pulled laghman noodles were perfectly chewy, the lamb kebabs were juicy and tender, and the naan was fresh and crisp right out of the oven. You can truly taste the authenticity and care in every bite. The staff was friendly, attentive, and eager to share the culture behind the cuisine, which made the experience even more special. This place is a must-visit if you're looking to explore rich, traditional Uyghur flavors. We’ll definitely be back!
Was in town for a wedding and saw Dallas had a Uyghur restaurant. Decided to check it out and was blown away. The quality was amazing, everything was freshly made and zabiha halal. Portions were great as well. If you’re looking for something different and a taste of the Silk Road definitely give it a try!!!
Great food and awesome service at Turan Uyghur. The Korma Chop was absolutely fabulous... Bursting with flavors!!! There was that homemade feel to it which is missing in a lot of restaurant made dishes. The Dumplings were great too. There was a ton of food so we had to take them with us which means more food at home!! 💯 for this restaurant!! Highly recommended ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
Halal food. Forgot what I ordered, maybe chicken curry with rice. But it was awesome. I really loved it and would definitely go back again, InshaAllah.
January 2025 First review for the new year. Small restaurant with limited seating but a steady flow of customers. The restaurant’s Halal food preparation attracted many different customers to this predominantly Asian shopping centre. The ingredients and taste is very different from our taste palette. We are not very used to the texture of the noodle. Regardless, fresh ingredients on all dishes. Worth trying to this restaurant. My rating as 5 is very satisfied Taste 4/5 Temperature 5/5 Attentive and courteous 5/5 Cleanliness 5/5 Will I return ? Unsure. Will I recommend? Worth a try especially for lamb selection.
Try to get some authentic Xinjiang food and l would say it’s a bit disappointing: the Naan is definitely not cooked real time, probably warmed with microwave; the lamb pan cake was deep fried in deep oil instead of pan fried and looks like the original cake was frozen in freezer before they throw into the Deep frying pan; the noddle dish were hand pulled but flavor was lacking. Avoid Naam. Forget the lamb pan cake, it was expensive and not fresh made at all. One good thing is you do get lot of noodles.
