We came for the Valentine’s day special. I was a bit hesitant because of some of the reviews, I HATE overpriced food that doesn’t taste good. Maybe it was the low expectations but we were very pleasantly surprised. All the food was exquisite, 150$ for the two of us (ok all in 190 with tip and tax). We had steak, scallops, jumbo shrimp, their special steak sushi (which was phenomenal by the way) fountain drinks and a delicious desert brownie. I can’t say it’s “cheap” but the food is awesome, for my taste anyways. All the dishes were plated beautifully, the staff were excellent and the atmosphere was perfect. Nice live music, not too loud not too quiet. Would recommend.
I along with my friends came here for my birthday weekend. The food was great and our waitress Dianne was so awesome and amazing. However, the hostess was quite rude and abrupt. But Dianne and the manager were great!!
This is probably one of few fancy steakhouses that is 1000% family friendly. That right there is a win. A place where I can enjoy my solid chunk of meat and potatoes, while I feel guilt-free about my kids acting amuck. Because every table is going through the same thing. Very tender medium rare. Plus I had a very interesting buttery pistachio pesto pasta that somehow tasted even better later on after a night in the hotel fridge. And the food came out FAST, the decor exuded luxury, and the cocktails were a-may-zing. Staff were so friendly and flexible with all sorts of kid requests. Really accommodating and made it easy for us to really enjoy the experience.
From the moment we walked in, the entire experience was nothing short of perfection. The restaurant itself is beautiful, setting the stage for what turned out to be an unforgettable evening celebrating my mother’s birthday. A very special thank you to Nina, our waitress, who was absolutely phenomenal. Her warmth, attentiveness, and professionalism truly elevated the entire evening. She anticipated our needs before we even asked and made us feel completely taken care of from start to finish. Nina is a star and deserves every bit of recognition for the way she goes above and beyond. The manager was welcoming and ensured everything flowed seamlessly, while the chefs delivered dishes that were both stunning and delicious. Every plate was prepared with care and flavor that left us impressed. Overall, this was one of the best dining experiences we’ve had. I would highly recommend this restaurant to anyone — and if you’re lucky enough to be served by Nina, you’ll see exactly why she made our night so memorable..
Came here on Valentine’s Day after a whole day snowboarding. We passed the Valentine’s special menu as we are so starving. Tried their porter house with lobster, it was delicious and price was reasonable. I also personally love their signature drinks, very refreshing and fruity. The service is absolutely amazing, our server provided us with professional service and the warmly welcomes. The location is also a plus, just next the hotel. Would highly recommend to everyone ~
BEST DINNER PLACE EVER!! THE SERVICE WAS AMAZING AND SO WAS OUR SERVER NINA!! definitely recommend coming here, the food was delicious 10/10!
My wife and I second time at this restaurant, and once again did not disappoint. Our server Shawn was very kind and easygoing. He was also quite knowledgeable with the menu! There were other tables he was taking care of with larger parties than us and seemed to handle it with ease. Food came out timely and hot. Drinks were good!! A bit strong, but good. From the short rib tacos and calamari, to the filet mignon and lobster tails everything was truly delicious. Didn’t have dessert but will definitely be back again to try! Highly recommend
Our Server was Jared . T and he was absolutely amazing! He went through the menu with us and recommended really great drinks! He was on the ball with our orders and very quick and attentive. The food was delicious and I would definitely come back again! The ribeye was perfectly cooked and our sides were to die for! Jared. T made our experience phenomenal! 10 outta 10! Highly recommend.
We went to Double Cut for dinner on the 1st night of our bachelorette trip and had a fabulous meal. Everyone was pleased with their choices however some of the girls did not like that the steak house is a la cart. Thankfully our server Jared T. informed us and provided excellent recommendations. He was so witty and funny, he definitely added to our evening in the best way possible.
I had a great birthday dinner with my family here. The service from Kylle was great. He was very attentive. When I asked for recommendations he wasn't shy. I really appreciate when the server will help educate me on the menu. I also have food allergies. Usually I hesitate because of this, but Kylle assured me that he did indeed understand, and gladly helped find things I could enjoy. He also double checked with the kitchen just to be sure. I over heard another nearby table who also had allergies and he handled that with the same finesse! We started off with his drink recommendations (I had the Clint Eastwood.) it was delicious. I don't remember what my wife got, but I stole a sip and that was great. Kylle also recommended entrees, and they were the three things I was already thinking about. He quickly helped me decide between the dishes and I went with the lamb chops. My son decided on the Prime Rib sandwich also one of his recommendations. My wife had the scallops and my daughter decided the calamari appetizer was what she wanted. My lamb was cooked perfectly and a very high quality lamb. Much better than I've had at other places. It came next to a pool of sweet and salty sauce with capers. It was a beautiful plate. I made the mistake of sharing and losing half my dinner. That was okay though because I had a few bites of calamari, and my son let me eat half of his prime rib sandwich. The horseradish sauce that came with that was fantastic! Very well balanced, very creamy, not too spicy, but it still had some zip. If I were staying here any longer I would definitely be making a trip back and requesting Kylle for my server.
Our waiter was great. Atmosphere is lovely. We had a big party so here’s all of our opinions. Starter bread was delicious. Dinner was good but I was told the scallops came with 5 decent sized scallops and my plate didn’t. If I didn’t get mashed potatoes, I’d still be hungry. Mashed potatoes were also super dry. Truffle fries were absolutely delicious. Steaks were good and the filet sushi was very good. The chicken was very good too. Crab cakes are awesome. The espresso martinis are some of the best we’ve ever had.
"An Unforgettable Dining Experience at Double Cut Steak House, Kalahari 🌟 From the moment we stepped into Double Cut Steak House at Kalahari, we knew we were in for a treat. The service was nothing short of excellent, thanks to the incredible team. Marisa, the General Manager, set the tone with her warm welcome. Sarah and Lena, the gracious hostesses, made us feel like royalty. And our server, Rashaan, truly made our visit memorable with his impeccable attention to detail and pleasing demeanor. Now, let's talk about the food – it was a culinary masterpiece! Each dish was cooked to perfection and seasoned just right. The grilled lobster tail was succulent, the porterhouse steak was tender and flavorful, and the lamb chops were simply divine. The sides were equally impressive - the cream of corn was velvety smooth, the garlic mashed potatoes were heavenly, and the cream of spinach was the perfect complement to our meal. Double Cut Steak House at Kalahari isn't just a meal; it's an experience. It's a place where flavors and service collide to create a dining event that you'll remember for a long time. Highly recommended for anyone looking for an exceptional steakhouse experience!"
Amazing family friendly venue! Highly recommend! Shoutout to our server Alex who was personable, funny, and helped us curate a very tasty dinner menu for us. He paid attention to the smallest detail and made sure all the kids dishes came out first. This was the highlight of our evening after a long day of playing at the waterpark and arcade. The icecream cart with unlimited toppings is a must for dessert. It’s our second time dining here this year and will be coming back again.
If you want a good steak. Come to Double Cut Steak House. The place is nice and clean. Food amazing and Dianne our waitress was beyond amazing.
Jared was extremely helpful and made our experience at the restaurant very smooth and personal. Very sweet and kind. Food was delicious. Absolute must is the asparagus, ribeye steak and Alaskan crab. Looking forward to eating here again.
We had a reservation here for our second anniversary. I had requested candles and roses on the table. The waitress (I can’t recall her name 🤦🏻♂️) went above and beyond to make out date night special! She brought roses and candles to the table soon after we were seated, and wished us Happy Anniversary. She also added her own special touch to the dessert, as well as treating us to champagne! We will definitely be visiting this restaurant again in the future! I had the 20 oz Prime Rib, Bourbon glazed mushrooms, and creamed corn. My wife had the Filet Mignon and loaded baked potato. All mouth watering delicious! Keep up the good work!
Shawn was an awesome server the food was great and the atmosphere was very easy-going.
The restaurant is very elegant and the food is good. Shawa was our server and he took extremely good care of us. In addition he is an amazing magician and he took time out to show my daughter a trick or two during busy hours. Loved the overall experience.
Let's be honest, I'm not paying $200 for steaks on a weekly basis. But, for my wife's birthday, we went here for dinner and it was absolutely fantastic. The staff was extremely personable. The food was absolutely delicious (ill never be able to grill a stake like they did lol). The atmosphere was very calm and relaxing. It was a great night out!
Nina was excellent when we went! Beyond great service and the food was magnificent and we are from New York so that is saying a lot! New York has great food but this was one of the best I’ve had and Nina provided exceptional service! Thank you all!
Ordered take out, went into the restaurant. Ambience great! Bartender attentive and food bussing down! Ordered crab cakes, 8/10 because they need to change sauce to a spicy mayo base sauce. Fire cracker shrimp. 10/10 and Rib… getting to it. I gave 5/5 because it was a beautiful experience.
Nina was phenomenal and so attentive!! I’d love to come back and be sure I’m seated at one of her tables. Just phenomenal!! Loved her!! Thank you Nina for making my cousin’s birthday an incredible time.
We had a wonderful dining experience here. The highlight was the excellent service from our server, Dianne, who made the evening especially enjoyable. The food was on the pricier side, but overall it was very good. We ordered the Steak, Chilean Seabass, and the Scallops. While the food wasn’t perfect, the flavors were amazing - I’d rate it around 4.5/5. For dessert, we tried the Key Lime Pie, which was a bit too sweet for one person but still delicious, and the Sundae Bar, which was both fun and tasty. Dianne’s friendly service made our dessert experience even more enjoyable. Overall, a great experience with memorable service and flavorful dishes.
Nina, our waitress was WONDERFUL! She definitely met our needs! She explained every question we had about the menu, she had an alternative for something that we were looking for that wasn't on the menu. She was very patient with us (party of 6). So, at the end we felt like we had to give a little more extra to show we really did appreciate her very much! Thank you again, Nina!
Nina was an excellent server—friendly, professional, and very attentive throughout our visit. She made sure we were comfortable and took care of everything promptly. Great experience!
I first want to say I did not expect this restaurant to be as large and spacious as it was. We went for a weed-night meal before Valentines Day so we didn't have to deal with the crowd. I was very pleased with the atmosphere and the seating arrangements. Our server Kristen M. & the rest of the staff were excellent! Our drinks (Wine, cocktail, water) were also very tasty. We got the truffle fries & some bread to start with which both were tasty. We also had the Filet and I will say it was cooked to perfection, as was the Asparagus & mashed potatoes. To finish it off, we split a cheesecake & I must say it was one of the best I have had in a while.
Our server was Shawn and he was AMAZING. He was such a sweetheart from the moment we walked in, until the moment we left. His recommendation of the sushi was spot on and delicious. His overall demeanor was very warm and inviting. I can tell he’s very passionate about his job and at the end he even did some magic tricks for us. It was amazing experience for our first time there.
The food was amazing and there were many different options. There was a nice lighting system, and even a few fireplaces! It was huge and the music was just the right volume to listen to it but still have a conversation with the table. Our server Kristen was amazing! We truly felt a deep, and lighthearted connection with her. She was helpful with the menu, and, again, was very friendly. All in all, I definitely recommend this restaurant!
Alexander our server was patient, friendly, and helpful. He took his time to explain our menu options, his menu favorites and made our evening a memorable night! I’d definitely recommend coming here for a nice, quiet, delicious evening with beautiful presentation and generous sides! The rest of the staff were also helpful and friendly. Thank you for a great evening.
We were absolutely blown away by the food and service at Double Cut. The fish and steak were phenomenal, and the artisan bread was outstanding. The drinks were beautifully crafted and paired perfectly with our dinner. Our server, Kristin, was truly spectacular—she went above and beyond to make our toddler and his beanie bear feel so special on his third birthday. It meant so much to us. We will definitely be visiting again and will be sure to ask for Kristin. Thank you for making our trip to PA extra special!
Located in the depths of the kalihari resort, this steakhouse is pretty good! Awesome service, and good food. The hanging bacon is awesome. You also get this loaf of bread that is addictive. The prime rib sandwich was delicious as was the burger. Ribeye steak was cook correctly and very tasty. The loaded baked potato is a meal in itself. French onion soup is a staple and was tasty. After eating head into the piano bar for fun. Live piano music and fun.
The food was amazing! Drinks were great. Highly recommend. And there is another bar next door with live music and nice ambience.
First, our reservation was delayed by half an hour. The overall atmosphere of the restaurant was great. However, the salmon was terrible—it had a fishy smell and was the only dish we barely touched. The steak and oysters were decent, but the bacon was amazing! Highly recommend it!
Very big swanky place to eat at the water park. There weren’t many tables filled at 6:30 on a Friday. We did make a reservation. Other reviews mentioned the long wait for food but we didn’t wait longer than I would have expected to, drinks came out in 10 min food like 20-30 min. What actually annoyed me was the crayon scribbles on the adult menu. Clearly a kid got to a couple of menus and they should have replaced those pages. It takes you out of the fancy experience to have a dirty menu with crayon scribbles on it. The waitress brought out two bread loaves for us with chive butter. I asked for olive oil because the bread was a bit dry. Tasted better in olive oil to me than with the butter. We got hanging bacon. 4 strips for $19. It tasted like regular bacon, slightly sweeter. Calamari app was very salty. I liked the garlic sauce that came with it though. I got the marshmallow cocktail for $17. Sweet, creamy and delicious. I got two and it got me happy drunk. The marshmallows on it as garnish were cold even though they were torched. I got the Caesar salad for my entree with grilled chicken. $15 + $7 for chicken which Is probably the most affordable and biggest portion item you can get here. Lots of crispy Romain lettuce, anchovies and a perfectly cooked soft boiled egg. The dressing on it was light and the chicken had a strong but delicious grilled flavor. I loved it! My husband had a burger, he got it well done and it was dry though he liked it. Also it was very salty. The burger did not come with fries and the waitress brought them over for us but then charged us $7 for them. It was my nephews birthday and he wanted the filet, he got the adult size and finished most of it and really liked it. It was very plain though to me. He put a lot of salt on it because of that. Other nephews got the lobster Mac and cheese, it was very big and he couldn’t finish it all. I didn’t see much lobster in there though. Other family members got rib eye and sea bass and they liked it a lot. The bourbon glazed mushroom side was big but tasted like earth, no bourbon or other flavor to them. Our waitress knew we had a birthday and at the end brought over a slice of cheesecake complimentary which was really nice. The bill was $500 for a family of 6 The prices are too expensive but all in all we had a great experience and enjoyed our food.
The place is beautiful and the staff is amazing although they charge $25 for outside dessert it was worth it but some of the food just wasn't my favorite but the crab cakes was amazing
This is a best garlic bread I-have ever had. They really bake with whole fresh garlic inside. And had salt with. The steak and scallops there are yummy, the only drawback is that the soda is not very bubbly. It only has a sweet taste.
The restaurant is good and has nice atmosphere. However the reservation system is not good. Tried to book a table for 5 one day ahead of time but the system showed no availability except for seating at the bar. When we arrived, the place was 90% empty and we just got a table with no issue. Food was decent. The porterhouse was average being this is a steakhouse. Expected a bit more. The kids pasta and Mac and cheese was bland.
We came here on a recommendation. Our server Elena was top notch. The atmosphere was almost a higher end lounge like feel. There was even a gentleman playing the piano and singing. He had a really good voice too. The crab cakes were great. Lots a flavor and fresh. Now when it came to the entrees, that’s a different story. I had the bone in ribeye, my wife had the salmon steak. We also ordered a side of lobster 🦞 mac & cheese. I have to say this is probably the Worst lobster mac & cheese I have ever had. It was very bland and lacked flavor. The presentation was awesome, however the salmon tasted very bland. My steak also lacked flavor. I couldn’t exactly put my finger as to why the entrées lacked flavor. For their price points, reviews and atmosphere I really was expecting more. It’s quite possible because they’re located in Kalahari resort, there’s just so many people to accommodate in a short amount of time. But I do recommend the crabcakes. Those were great. Glad we had the experience, however, I don’t believe we will be returning.
Best cheese burger we’ve had at a restaurant/better than Peter Luger I must say. Got the Ribeye Steak and ordered it medium and got a medium well/close to well done :( that was disappointing. Nonetheless it was tasty and fatty. The bread with butter that was supposed to be served in the beginning was served nearly in the end along with my steak when everyone is nearly finished eating. It was also the best bread I’ve had. I think it has cheese in it that’s why it’s much more tastier. Overall: Slow service for quality food. The bald tall Manager doesn’t look approachable at all.
So overall it was not a bad experience. Our waitress was so sweet and funny and she definitely made our night ten times better. However, my sister ordered a lobster mac and cheese and there was almost no lobster so when we told our waitress and did not even ask for another order, however she was so nice about it and said she would put another order for a better mac and cheese. All was great until we found out that we were charged for 2 orders of lobster mac and cheese…. Like we did not ask for a second one and we thought it was complimentary.. it was not a classy move tbh.
The service and ambiance was good. However, the food (from steakhouse menu) was bland and lacked flavor. Two people in the party got ribeye, and both of it was burnt and overcooked. They did exchange the steak for us but even the replacement ribeye had no flavor and absolutely no fat in it. For the price you pay, you should expect to get a better cut of meat than one that tastes like you are chewing cardboard. Not worth it.
had to wait to be seated even with reservation. took an hour to get food despite the restaurant being about half empty. overpriced steak with no sides. ($63 for an 8 ounce). steak was overcooked and flavourless, crust of the steak was burnt. only good thing about the service was drinks were refilled often. no toilet paper in bathrooms
The service was great, waiter was wonderful. The food was okay, I've had much better at that price. The one thing that irritated me was the booth we sat at. There is a light hanging over the tables in the booths, and it was too bright. I felt like I was sitting at my kitchen table. Totally took away the atmosphere of the restaurant. Not returning.
Beautiful space, but extremely disappointing service and food. The atmosphere at Double Cut Steakhouse is genuinely nice—the restaurant itself is beautiful and has a great ambiance. Unfortunately, the experience fell apart when it came to service and food. We had a 10:00 PM reservation and arrived about 10 minutes late. We were seated in a room, but no one came to check on us. After waiting around 20 minutes, we had to send someone out to find a server just to acknowledge our table. We asked for water and drinks, which were only brought once—no refills, no follow-up. Service overall was incredibly slow. One person at our table ordered sushi and received her food far earlier than everyone else. I ordered a salad, and somehow that didn’t come out until nearly an hour later—at the same time as everyone else’s entrées. It’s hard to understand how sushi can arrive quickly but a simple salad takes that long. The food itself was also underwhelming for the price point. I ordered mashed potatoes that were extremely dry, lacked flavor, and weren’t creamy at all. Others at the table had issues too—one friend waited an hour for her steak only for it to arrive cooked incorrectly, which was very disappointing. To make matters worse, while in the restroom, two separate women mentioned to us that they also thought the service was horrible and the food wasn’t good. This is not a cheap restaurant, and the experience simply didn’t match the prices. There are better options nearby, and I personally wouldn’t give this place a second chance.
⭐☆☆☆☆ Food was actually good — no complaints there — but the experience ruined it. Our server Cameron (not sure on spelling) tried way too hard and it came off uncomfortable instead of welcoming. Tone it down a bit… natural service goes a long way. The bigger issue: our friends asked if we could move near the fire. We were told the area was “sold out” while the entire row by the bar was empty — yet minutes later a party of 6 was seated there. That makes customers feel lied to. To top it off, after spending $313 we were told the resort is cashless when we attempted to pay with a gift card and cash. That information should be clearly communicated before the bill arrives — not after. Good food can’t fix poor communication and inconsistent policies. Before I post this review publicly, I’d like to give you the opportunity to address it. We spent $313 and were: • told an empty section was “sold out” but then watched another party seated there • surprised by a cashless policy at payment time • experienced service that felt forced instead of comfortable Please explain how you plan to correct these issues so future guests don’t have the same experience. Because if you don’t corporate will hear from me.
We were disappointed with our recent visit to this establishment. Despite paying over $300 for food that was unseasoned and not cooked to the correct temperatures, the service was pleasant. However, the restaurant itself was confusing. It has a sports bar and tables, but we expected a more upscale dining experience. The seating was also cramped, which didn’t meet the standards we had hoped for. Please consider making changes.
I’ve been here many times but last night it did not reach my expectations at all. When I walked into in to front desk, I cracked a joke saying do you have steak on the menu. the front desk girl looked at me like I was crazy . The front desk was not nice, She was serious and looked at me with disgust. The worse started to happen, So the front deck sat us at some high chairs, they were uncomfortable chairs. Then I order my food and I ordered a steak medium well, my steak was well done. It just was so unpredictable I mean, you spent $400 in dinner and you get treated like this. it was upsetting.
Hostess the worse!! Food has no seasoning & wasn’t hot. Steak tastes like unflavored raw meat. Again hostess TERRIBLE!! It was our anniversary & wasn’t acknowledged at all. Was seated next to a family with little kids , asked can we move the hostess specifically told us NO because people will be comin in later. Mind you we had reservations at 6pm. I told her we had reservations so even if people come in later we are here now! Plus you don’t pick your seats when you book a reservation so they wouldn’t even know where they are sitting later! She said well you not getting a booth, i told her I DONT NEED A BOOTH! just a more intimate spot because its our anniversary. The restaurant was empty maybe 4 tables full. Just a few tables away from the family. She made a big deal then moved us to a both.. ironic because i told her i didn’t need a booth. Food was terrible! Steak literally came out 5mins after i ordered. Wasn’t hot, absolutely no seasoning! I nvr had to put salt on a steak at a steakhouse. I didn’t eat it. Overall everything was terrible!! Except my server she was the greatest! Victoria is keeping this place alive. A million stars to her. She went above & beyond. You know what you did, you go girl!
Being at the resort should have been enough of a warning that this was gonna be trash, but I let the smurfed reviews lead me astray. Without a litany of issues that nobody will read, the porterhouse cooked medium was cooked to exactly the right temperature. What they don't tell you is that they have invented a miraculous technology to remove all actual meat or cooking flavor from the steak, unless you pay for an extra crust. This is billed as optional, but it's mandatory if you want to taste anything. Seriously. I ordered the ribeye, medium rare. Cooked well, a good piece of meat. I did opt for a sauce, the $5 chimichurri. Which means a small ramekin with 2 tbs of vinegar, a little oil, and what appears to be Italian seasoning found behind the fridge. The flavors were all wrong, but not atrocious. Service gets a 2 because the overworked young woman serving us eventually managed to get us our food. It was our 10-year-old's birthday, and they managed to switch the complimentary dessert to chocolate cake, as my kid despises cheesecake. They let us know that they would have to beg the chef, that they are in a mood, and that may make them refuse the change. That they felt it was something to say to a customer left us agog. Just what? The appetizer was overpriced and rubbery, though we were told it was famous. The complimentary bread was doughy, and the knife provided to cut it was dull. It was a crumbly, garlicky mess. The children at other tables with iPads and gadgets were unsurprising. The noise seemed to be amplified. If this meal was at Applebee's, I wouldn't complain. The Google and Yelp and OpenTable reviews give the impression this place is gold. I think if we had gone to literally any steakhouse in town, any non-chain spot would have had better food, better ambiance and would have been an overall better experience.
The oysters were the worse I’ve ever had in my life. I honestly believe they were frozen and then thawed. Paying 48 dollars for 12 oysters that have no meat and are extremely dry is ridiculous. Out of the 12, I had 2 that were decent. Was excited to try this place out and left disappointed. Will not be recommending this place to anyone who asks.
