I had the morning off and decided to visit Port Hueneme. I was stationed there in the early '70s. It has really changed since then. The pier and its associated park are new since that time. I stopped in to have a small lunch and was impressed withe the quality of the food. It runs as a kind of lunch counter with table seating.

Excellent spot. Food is pricey but you get a decent amping of food. Clam chowder bowl def worth it!.... staff friendly.. nice vibe by the ocean side.

Always enjoy the fish and chips here, it's a bit pricey but worth it. It is one of best fish and chips in the ventura county to be honest. The view is a plus and so is the live band on the days they have love music. Nice place to stop in enjoy ocean views and listen to live music. Just check the website for days they have live music. My son liked the burger and fries as well.

Decent seafood, I had the fish & chips that were dry, but the tartar sauce came to the rescue. My daughter had the clam chowder bowl and didn’t find it exceptional, she located some condiments to provide the needed flavor boost. Great views of the ocean and a good people watching location. Cost was in line with a very nice seafood restaurant, but not restaurant quality.

After your meal, take a walk on the beautiful Port Hueneme Pier! No fountain drinks. Can order individual bottles or beverages. Atmosphere is great. Many choices also serve burgers. Had regular fish n chips.

The pic are the Butterfly shrimp and fried shrimp. Food was fresh and good. Sits at/on beach. You can see the beach just over the glass wall and short walk to the water. The restroom for the restaurant is the beach public restroom which is the building just on the otherside of glass wall in 📸. Wednesday evening had a live music playing, good.

So far my experience is pretty tame, No military discount here though or at least the guy said not at this time, so they probably do special occasions. So CONs: 1 crab cake cost 10.95 with fries it's 2 dollars more, the taste is ok, but not worth the price. Also cheese fries can only be ordered alone they won't add it to fries you get with your food so even if fries are 2 dollars more cheese fries are like 8 bucks plus and there is no way eased droped the apparently regular melted cheese worth 6 and some change. PRO: Fresh oysters were surprisingly good worth the price ponzu sauce carried though. Neutral Ground: the 4pc fish was painfully bland on its own, but if you like sauces then you would like them, and the pieces were huge I would stick to the 2pc if you have a small stomach. It's good for an experience but maybe not a constant date out choice and this review was made while I was craving fried fish sooo.... you have been warned ok byeeee. TLDR: oyster ok, fish with sauce ok, get 2pc for small stomachs, crab cake avoid the disappointment

I'm not impressed with food. Very bland jumbo fried shrimp. Fries were okay. Thought it was way too pricey. I ordered 8 jumbo fried shrimp with fries was $26 with tax. Believe me I eat lots of seafood and travel a lot. However, they had a live band on Wednesday, and the place is right on the beach. They serve beer at least and seem like a good place to hang out. Probably would go hang out and have a beer but not to eat.

Waited for the lady, who was sitting at a table like a customer about 5 min. not impressive customer service. i was surprised when she got up and went behind counter and even said oh you work here? Got halibut fish and chips, unseasoned and bland fries were not crunchy and bland also! Really good ketchup though, and the fish was very fishy and dry? so I guess in a way it did have a flavor to it! I think it was just frozen not fresh and over cooked! I drove up from Los Angeles cause the reviews were better than the food for sure, Didnt like it at all! Do better got Civeche Tostada's and shrimp Cocltail also $130.00 definately can get way better food for a lot less Money! Maybe be better on a busy day? only had 2 customers I saw and it was about 12:00 on a wednesday? definately need quality control has potential great spot!
