Always great food with a pleasant atmosphere.
Excellent ! Food & service 10 star worthy.
Hands down the best restaurant in SETX.
The atmosphere and music was loved by us all; you can't beat it! The food was outstanding!

Always excellent service Great top shelf liquor options And yummy food
We were at a wedding last night. Service, food & Staff were EXCEPTIONAL!!!!
This is, without a doubt the best place to eat in mid county. Best chicken fried steak around.

Nice facility for large groups. Staff a bit overwhelmed but they handled it well.
The food is spectacular!!! Service is out of this world!!! And the atmosphere is incredible!!!
The food and service were great for our 50th TJ Reunion. 👍
Magnificent restaurant. Food and service are superb!
Invited for a friend's birthday party.. Everything was perfect!
The gumbo was delicious and the service was great. I would definitely go there again and I would recommend this place to eat there also. The prices are pretty decent.
Amazing food, friendly staff, I definitely recommended having an event here or just dining in!!
Food is delicious, and the decor is so much brighter since the reopening! It was a terrific decision to open to the public as Benton's!
Nice place, really good food, good desserts, good service and very reasonable price. I'm glad we gave The Pompano a try.
Bar staff was great! Food was tasty!
Great food courteous staff.
Our faculty enjoyed the lunch buffet and it was wonderful! One of my teacher friends was so happy to report that the banana pudding was the original recipe 😊 Sean keeps things humming so well, I just love him!
Their lead mixologist, Corby Lee, is the most competent, professional bar staff I’ve met. He researches all the ingredients and has honed his craft many years in making unique drinks that are unforgettable. The chefs have also outdone themselves in both recipe and preparation. And the managers ensure everything’s right. Top notch restaurant, bar, event center, pool, etc…
My husband and I and several friends had Easter luncheon buffet today. The food was delicious. The staff was friendly and efficient. Great place to eat.
Food delicious. Atmosphere and the service is great. Extensive wine list and great bar. Only negative is it is pricey. Excellent for special night or spend time with friends.
Great food, ambiance and service!
Food was great but atmosphere and service and drinks were amazing!!
Too dark, and surprisingly loud. It was hard to hear across our large table. The serving portions are very large. The staff is friendly; they were busy the night we visited.
Great lunch the service was 5 star along with the food and ambience. I highly recommend I spend 4 days a week hurrying through lunch on Friday I like to sit down to a nice unhurried lunch this is one of my favorite places to do that at.
Great food! Nice pool! awesome staff, plenty of attentive lifeguards watching the pool! Kids love it here and I love being able to order a drink poolside.
The Pompano is a great restaurant for date night or a girls night out. The real show stopper is the Kung Fu Ribs! Sit at the bar and have the best drinks made by Corby!
Food was good. It would be a place for special occasion. Staff attended to the table was excellent. Always ready to answer any questions I had.
We had my parents 50th wedding anniversary there. Everyone was very friendly, the service was wonderful and the food was great! So glad we had the party there!
I when to a class birthday reunion and I enjoyed everything and the service was great.
A wonderful place for a nice night out with friends. Creative and fun menu, great steak cooked perfectly. This is most certainly our night out dinner spot.
Had a steak Saturday night and it was absolutely perfect and top that off with amazing bread pudding! It was an excellent meal.
Always great food and service! The waitress made my fiance's birthday extra special.
EXCELLENT. Probably one of the best meals I’ve ever had in southeast Texas. I had the red snapper special and it was delicious. Our waitress was so sweet and the bartender was great! The chef came out to provide updates. Will definitely be back.
We ate there last night for our anniversary. Heather, our server, recommended the chicken diane. The chicken was tender and juicy. Asparagas was perfect with tasty mashed potatoes. My husband had the surf and turf. Steak was seasoned well with augratin potates and fried tomatoes. He enjoyed all of it. Hats off to Will the chef. Thank you, Heather, for making our evening a lovely one. We will be back with friends to enjoy the delicious food again. .
Everything that was good from the past with a new updated look, well done! Everything was excellent. From the service, quality of food and even down to the perfect cooking of those meals. Shout out to the general manager who was on top of everyting! A new must visit when in the Golden Triangle.
The atmosphere was really nice. The only problem was it was to dark to read the menu. If it wasn't for that I would've said 5star all the way. I will definitely say this I have eaten all over the US and this restaurant was top of the list...
Living less than five minutes from the Pompano is fantastic… through the week my husband and I can pop in for a wonderful lunch buffet with an extensive choice of good quality meats, vegetables , salad, soup rolls and desserts. Last evening we took our friends to dinner there and were very impressed to find that the atmosphere and excellent service were extended to the evening,…our meals were excellent .. the steak was cooked to perfection and our waiter Will gave us elbow service.. would definitely recommend Denise Shepherd
We visited tonight for our company Christmas party. I had the stuffed Chicken Breast and a Buttered Pecan Everything was amazing, full of flavor, the service was great and attentive. I highly recommend for an upscale dining experience.
My and husband and I decided to have lunch @ The Pompano. It was our Anniversary ; 38yr .In the 90's I remember how wonderful the food .The food was absolutely Devine!! They were known for the delicious banana pudding. It was very delicious 😋. I am excited they have reopened, and are continuing to provide excellent service and the Best food in town!!
Enjoyed the Friday shrimp lunch buffet. Their soup was tomato basil, very delicious. Reminded me of the recipe we made at my former Cafe. Their croutons are a perfect addition to the soup. The fried shrimp and catfish is delicious as always. Topped it off with their famous vanilla pudding.
Really thought I’d already post a review. Our second time for Sunday brunch. Awesome drinks awesome atmosphere and the best service. Easy parking. Such nice people. Love it here.
This is the third visit and every time has been consistently delicious. We are usually a part of 10+. Today we were 16 and we had absolutely perfect service! Jackie deserves 100/100 for how well she managed our group. No one at any point was left waiting for anything. We threw several requests at her and she never once showed any sign of frustration. Absolutely a most pleasant experience.
My Sunday brunch experience at The Pompano was exceptional. The food was delicious, with a diverse menu offering something for everyone. The service was impeccable, with attentive staff enhancing our dining experience. The ambiance was inviting, perfect for a leisurely brunch. Overall, I highly recommend The Pompano for a memorable dining experience.
Update 12/3/24 Girls Night Out with my family. We enjoyed the family chicken meal...great, prompt service! Update... The Pompano Port Neches They hosted my friend's birthday party! Great evening, great food...learn the value of not eating in a rush-rush, loud boisterous atmosphere, it makes all the difference. Great atmosphere and food is exceptional! Get here soon and enjoy pampering the management and staff will give you.
We decided to make reservations at the Pompano located in Port Neches Tx to have a romantic Valentine's dinner with my wonderful husband. We arrived around 4pm. The place is absolutely gorgeous. It's very elegant and spacious. The tables we're beautifully decorated with roses. We decided to sit at the bar for a while since we had arrived little early. The bar was fully stocked and the bartender was really nice and knowledge about the selection of liquor on hand. We finally decided too head to our table so we look over the special Valentine's menu. For starters we began our meal with the Kung Fu Ribs which were absolutely delicious. For our entrees my husband ordered the 14oz Prime Ribeye with the Caesar Salad, Twice Baked Potato. I decided to try the 8oz Fresh caught Seabass, with the Wedge Salad and the twice baked potato. The food was absolutely delicious. Everything was cooked to perfection and seasoned very well. Great night, great good. If you're in the area check out Pompano restaurant in Port Neches Texas. You wont be disappointed.
We were very impressed with the food at the Pompano. I had the 16oz dry aged ribeye and the smoked sausage risotto. The Steak was cooked perfect. My wife had the Chilean Sea Bass with vegetable skewers. We had the banana pudding and key lime pie for dessert. We will be going back to try other things off the menu.

Had not been in many years but glad I went. Food was very tasty. Had the wedge salad and Pasra Pompano. Thought the pasta was a little overpriced but had a great depth in flavor for the sauce. The menu description makes you think you are getting larger pieces of steak/chicken but they were small pieces. Didn’t mind since the sauce was so tasty. Wedge salad had a nice sweet taste due to the balsamic so was not overly dominated by the blue cheese dressing. Service was great and the Thursday night music was a bonus. Only thing I would changes is the lighting is so low in the dining room that I needed my phone light to read the menu.
We celebrated my husband birthday with family members, and Ms.Heather assisted us with all our needs, our drinks, food orders and help with getting our cake cut with cutting utensils and plates. She was truly a gem, with a great personality. She even captured some good family shots for us. I also would like to give Mr. Willie a shout-out, the fried chicken, mac and cheese and the green beans were awesome, everything was cooked to perfection, southern style. The atmosphere was great for a wonderful dining experience with family.
As an ardent steak enthusiast, I've often found steakhouses in South East Texas falling short, leading me to travel to Lake Charles or Houston for a worthy steak meal. I'd even joke with my wife about the rubbery texture of local steaks. However, a friend's recommendation led us to try this restaurant, and I must admit, I was thoroughly impressed. The steak's excellence lies in its quality and cooking technique, and this place nailed both. Paired with mouthwatering Au gratin potatoes and delectable bread rolls served with honey butter, our dining experience was elevated to another level. I'm eagerly looking forward to our next visit. Kudos to the team for such impeccable service!
My wife and I were there celebrating our 49th wedding anniversary. The food, service and atmosphere was fantastic. Mike our waiter was very helpful and knowledgeable. I enjoyed talking with him about the restaurant. My wife and I enjoyed our evening there and will return soon.
My husband and I had reservations for our anniversary. We were promptly seated. The ambience was perfect with nice lighting, decor and light background music. Warm bread basket and salads were good and dinner was great. I believe mine was the seabass with coconut shrimp. . My husband had a steak. It was a little more than we spend for a regular night out, but this was an anniversary dinner, so it was okay for a special occasion. I will say...I expected more out of the bathrooms. It didn't seem to go with the rest of the restaurant. It was very bland and boring. My husband even commented how average the men's room was. I'm not rating anything regarding the restrooms, but rather offering a suggestion. Get rid of the sheet mirrors and replace with nice statement mirrors. The rugs need to go. Looking forward to returning.
This was my first time to eat here and I was not disappointed at all. I've never seen pork chops that big. The hamburger steak and mashed potatoes were beyond delicious!
Celebrated a couple of birthdays at this, somewhat of a hidden gem restaurant! We started with seafood fondue & a generous charcuterie board then moved to entrees of chicken fried steak, scrumptious, fork tender short rib with mushroom risotto, steak & lobster, lobster Mac & cheese, brussel sprouts, then finished with complimentary birthday cheesecake that was to die for!! It was more like a cream brulee in the shape of a cheesecake! Devine!! Definitely worth a visit!
Great place for food, atmosphere, and drinks. Coming to this place has that nice relax chill atmosphere. Always interesting people coming here. Sitting at the bar sparkling up conversations and having the drinks which are very good. Staff here know how to make drinks and kitchen staff always on point with the meals. I come to this place to unwind and relax. Anyone looking to come here will not be disappointed also during the summer’s they have a pool you can swim at. Very chic.

A very nice Mother's Day buffet.
The people are great and food is always good. Sometimes seasoning is more than I prefer.
Very nice atmosphere! Great waitress! Food was okay.
Best spinach dip I've ever had.
Our server was the best I have had in a long time. Food was good but a bit spendy.
Always a great place. Even though they were extremely busy. Ran out of several items on buffet, but food was great. Family loves going there. Even though name change, great food quality.
Food has odd taste...the buffet was their best but now they have a menu not a good or fun to look and pick
The food was good. But I wish they would have had more of a selection. There's salad was okay although I never did find any tomatoes?
Good food and our waitress, Lexi, was amazing. We asked a ton of questions and had all or most of the answers. Can't wait for them to be back in total operation.
Food is always. The waiters and waitresses are always friendly and very helpful with making decisions. Has a great atmosphere for a date night even though some people go as families also
One of the bartenders wouldn't take my order he would get the other guy to take it
This place has changed its name and us no longer a private club. Still under renovation after flood.
Service was slow maybe because I arrived at 9 and they close at 10 food was ok will try Pompano again during peak hours
Dark and gloomy and the food was mid.
Buffet style restaurant. Don't attempt to make reservations. More than once I've made reservations and upon arrival they place you in cue. They have seated people who walk in after us even have made reservations.
Came in from out of town with friends and did not know that all the food was spicy. Sort of disappointed in the slow plate removal when we finished each course.
You have to be very careful with your menu picks. My whole family has been there multiple times and some dishes are just really bad. My Spinach and Feta Frittata had so much balsamic on it I literally couldn't taste anything else except the 3 tomatoes they put in. My father's fish was undercooked in the thicker portions. My brothers beef tips were good to me, but some other people found the worcheschier sauce to be overpowering. My sister got the shrimp etiffoue I believe it was. I didn't get to try it but they said that it was the best item on the menu. Multiple of us had bad tasting drinks and had to get them replaced because the syrup in their machine went out. The only real reason im giving three stars is because the bread was FANTASTIC. The variety of buns, croutons, and crackers were extremely good. Plus their condiments made it delicious.

Wasn't to good it's been along time since I been there but had a good time with friends
The food was average for buffet won't go again
Went to lunch buffet. Fried chicken was dry and overcooked. Tasted like it was fried yesterday and reheated. Green beans were too spicy. Nothing on the buffet was good. Will not be going back.
Attented a luncheon today and the buffet was not up to par. Usually for parties they would have fried chicken mash potatoes etc. not a taco station . They were understaffed . Also I feel that it's time for new silverware.
My husband and I celebrated our 25th wedding anniversary on June 4, 2024 at The Pompano. We called ahead and made reservations, informing the staff that we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. When we were seated, we were asked if we were celebrating anything special, so we explained that we were celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary. It was prime rib night, so I was looking forward to the meal. My husband got the stuffed flounder. He regularly eats fish and loves flounder. My husband said it was the toughest fish he has ever eaten - like eating a shoe. My prime rib was tasteless - very little seasoning if any. The portion sizes were micro tiny, especially my twice baked potato, which barely looked big enough to be plucked from the ground. When the waiter asked how things were, I politely explained our disappointment. He kinda shrugged and said usually the potatoes are bigger than the one I got. He didn’t offer us anything else and didn’t offer for us to speak to a manager. It was our first time, and definitely will be our last time to visit The Pompsno.
Food is either extremely salty that you can’t eat it or has zero flavor. We have come here for years and it’s progressively got worse. However, the cheesecake is amazing and the bar staff is always awesome. So if you want a drink and dessert, it’s perfect

Food wasn't cooked how I asked. Then the waiter told me that's how the chef Cooks it. Very pricey place for such rude behavior and not being able to get your food as you desire
My husband and I was invited to a party at Pompano’s on Saturday February 11, 2023. The service was awful. We were in the private dining room with guests of 15 to 20 people. Most couples did place orders, but the waitress did NOT take the order of about about 6 people. We told her she skipped several people orders, she did come back and took those people’s orders. She finally brought out our meal. After taking a bite of my food which was horrible, after sitting there realizing she did not ask anyone for drink order. We got bo tea, soft drinks… I got crab cake which was awful, my husband ordered chicken fried steak with mash potatoes that to was not good. I hope no one else have the experience we had at Pompano’s
Had the Wednesday special, 1/2 chicken w/veggies. Chicken was good, macaroni & cheese bland, green beans taste like plastic, mashed potatoes too salty. Too expensive for quality of food. Greed for garbage !
The brunch was awful. Seriously. I don’t write bad reviews for at or below average food or service. But this… Barely warm food with no flavor. It’s sitting in steam trays. There is no excuse for cold food. Chicken was dry and seemed to be from the Clinton administration. Dirty rice had no flavor. Not sure what the soup was supposed to be. I think the cook had a daydream about tomato basil soup when preparing whatever it was. The peach cobbler was good. So, there’s that. Staff was overwhelmed, but did their best. Not their fault. Not a Golden Corral fan, but they have better food there than what I experience today at the Pompano, and at a much greater value. The dinner restaurant may be good, but based on today’s visit I won’t waste my time or money trying it out. Pompano is a pompa-NO.
I loved going to eat at the pompano club as a kid, but this place, with new ownership, is just not it. It is owned by the same group that owns the neches river wheelhouse apparently, according to a Beaumont enterprise article I had seen. The neches river wheelhouse is awful. This place is a step up, but also not great either. They charged high end steakhouse prices and almost nothing out of the experience was comparable to a high end steakhouse. I went with my grandmother and husband earlier this year, and there were multiple issues with our visit. The prime rib I ordered was just okay, and the au jus that came with it was flavorless. Just tasted like they poured beef broth into the sauce cup. They put way too much horseradish in the cream sauce and no matter how small of an amount I put on my steak, it burned my nose and completely overpowered any taste of the steak. The breading on my husbands chicken fried steak was thicker than the actual steak. The gravy was just okay. My husband initially tried ordering their pompano pasta or whatever they call it and our server straight up told him it was no good. And he was very professional too so it wasn’t just him leisurely telling us he didn’t like it. It seemed as though it was something that got sent back a lot and generally had bad feedback with it. Why was it still on the menu? Does the server feel comfortable letting management know about this bad menu item? It was also so dark that my grandmother couldn’t even read her menu. Just not a good experience overall. The only thing that saved the night that didn’t make it a total waste of time were the drinks and the service. If you want a fancy steakhouse experience, go to Houston or Lake Charles.
