It's wonderful to find the flavors of yesteryear in a homey atmosphere. A vast selection of tortelli of every kind, all wonderfully delicious. I return as soon as I can because the welcome is so warm; I feel pampered even with just a welcome appetizer and the inevitable nocino liqueur at the end of the meal. Recommended for those looking for a relaxing moment immersed in the lush green hills of Reggio Emilia.
Every time we return, it's always a sure thing...the atmosphere is wonderful...the food is excellent...the service is top-notch...attentive and attentive. My in-laws are renewing their wedding vows, and where else but at the Belvedere where they got married! Thanks to Gabriele (ELVIRA) and all the tireless, kind, and helpful staff. P.S.: be patient with those who are never satisfied 🤣
Wonderful place with traditional Italian food. After a couple of weeks of the same pasta and pizza we were very pleasantly surprised by the home cooked meals here! The veal stew is absolutely wonderful. Simple but very tasty. The decoration is somewhat old fashioned but it made it quaint.
A comfortable, family-friendly atmosphere, traditional Reggio Emilia dishes, and a refreshing dip in the cool of the hills. A must-visit, especially when it's hot in the plains!
Excellent food; we tried various types of tortelli and they were all delicious. The rabbit was truly special. The cappelletti and passatelli in broth were also excellent. The atmosphere was family-friendly. An experience definitely worth repeating. The price was fair. We were a large group, and everyone was more than satisfied.
The food is better than at grandma's! The quality of the food is extraordinarily authentic. Everything is fresh and homemade. I had pumpkin, green, potato, and mushroom tortelli, and mushroom lasagna. The desserts were delicious! The staff was knowledgeable, professional, and very helpful. The place is dated but perfectly in keeping with the setting and extremely clean!
The restaurant, located in Prediera, has a 1970s-style feel: the place is very clean, even if it could use a revamp. The food, however, is sensational: I couldn't find a flaw in any of the dishes. We started, after a small complimentary appetizer, with a trio of tortelli: a very unique and delicate leek and pistachio, a bold and harmonious speck and radicchio, and a truffle that I would describe as exquisite and flavorful (the latter truly sensational). They are among the best tortelli you'll find in the Reggio Emilia area because the pasta is excellent and has the perfect thickness, the tortelli have just the right amount of filling and the right size, and everything is handmade with local ingredients. For our second course, we ordered the pork tenderloin with balsamic vinegar, which was incredibly tender, perfectly cooked, and with a sweet and sour flavor that was never cloying: a must try if you love pork, because it's truly hard to find a flaw. Dessert: a traditional Reggio Emilia tagliatelle cake, which must have a perfectly balanced interplay of textures and flavors, and this one was spot on (the jam between the pastry and the filling is a clear marmalade with a light citrus flavor that doesn't overpower the almond-scented filling). The house also offers a bitter liqueur, a homemade nocino, which fittingly concludes this traditional gastronomic journey. The portions are generous, and for two we paid €54 (with water and a quarter of wine). What more can I say? Highly recommended! We'll definitely be back.
Christmas Eve lunch 2019, truly an excellent choice, recommended by friends: a complete meal for €30 per person. Let's start with the tortelli verdi, delicious; the flavor of the fresh egg pasta was unmistakable; the porcini mushroom crespelle were light and delicate, exquisite. The cappelletti were excellent. The braised beef was perfectly flavorful, the guinea fowl and rabbit cooked to perfection. The side dishes were also delicious. The desserts were all homemade, with a spongata from Lode. Excellent, highly recommended! Only one tip: serve still red wines at room temperature, and have some that are a little older, to pair even better with the meats.
Historic hilltop restaurant. Their specialties include tortelli as a first course, in various varieties in addition to the classics, grilled dishes, and battered vegetables. If you're looking for a vegetarian meal, you'll be able to eat, but you won't find the carrot symbol on the menu. The kindness and helpfulness of the staff, both waiters and owners, is exemplary. When it's busy, you may have to wait a bit longer. The terrace, with outdoor seating in nice weather, gives the restaurant its name.
I'd say fabulous. From the starter to the coffee, everything was fantastic. I recommend the venison tortelli. Excellent. For the main course, the mixed grill. Sublime. The panoramic view is enchanting. The prices are affordable. If you're looking for a carefree day, this is the place to be.
Great traditional food made from local ingredients
We went for lunch on Sunday, everything was very good and cheap! We waited a long time to order and for the food to arrive, but overall it was very good. The staff was excellent and friendly. The only problem was that there are only two bathrooms and there's always a line.
We probably came here before they closed. The food was excellent. The cappelletti and tortelli were really good quality. The appetizers were of typical cured meats. There were 4 of us, and there were 4 slices of salami. The cheeses were good quality. I asked for two grilled meats to share between 4 of us, but it was really just a grilled meat for one person. No ribs, as advertised on the menu. The desserts were homemade and excellent. It's a real shame that the grilled meat was so meager (in fact, it was counted as a portion and a half, which is already a stretch). I hope to return on other occasions, perhaps better ones. PS: The atmosphere is gloomy, perhaps due to the shutters being closed almost everywhere. Absolute silence. A shame. Because the food is excellent.
I only gave the ambiance three stars for personal reasons. It's a timeless place, and the '80s decor made me feel a little sad. The service was super fast and courteous, and the food was truly home-cooked; it felt like being at grandma's. I also recommend it for its reasonable and fair prices.
Traditional home cooking from the Reggio Emilia Apennines: "Cassagai" erbazzone, tortelli, cappelletti, and excellent lasagna. Guinea fowl, rabbit, and lamb. Black cake and zuppa inglese. What more could you ask for? Olimpia's cuisine is a sure thing. Excellent service. Very kind and attentive. Terrace overlooking the most beautiful peaks of the Cimone Cusna Apennines. Thank you, G.
It's a classic mountain trattoria, serving classic tortelli, cappelletti, and roasts. The service was incredibly slow, and they forgot one of our orders. They tried to make up for it by bringing us the pumpkin tortelli we ordered, but we sat at the table for hours. The tortelli, overall, weren't particularly distinctive; the roast rabbit and guinea fowl were good. They bring a small jug of homemade nocino liqueur at the end.
Had dinner last night with friends in a spacious, 70s/80s-style restaurant in the hills outside Reggio Emilia. We were treated to an appetizer, a small slice of pizza, a frittata, and fried cod—all delicious. Then we had a trio of tortelli, leek and pistachio, potato and porcini mushrooms, and speck and radicchio. Ragù was served on the side, all very good. For main courses, we had a mixed grill, tasty and tender, with artichokes on the side, also delicious. Finally, we were treated to nocino liqueur. The bill was fair and reasonable.
Conto: per come ho mangiato troppo (44 € no vino e no caffè)
Boring food. Had the feeling that they wasn't prepared at all
