We have not been to PV in eight years, and many of our favorite restaurants have closed since then. I did a search of the favorite restaurants that are authentic Mexican. We chose Sonoritas. We will go back again. The atmosphere is awesome, the service fantastic and the food was amazing. Note: Lots of praise for the tacos. Yet, we were underwhelmed. The chicken tacos were nothing more than tortillas with grilled chicken atop. Don’t order that. We tried The Los Alambres (sp?) and they were magnificent. So was the guacamole and chips and salsas. Drinks were perfect! We highly recommend this restaurant, just don’t order the tacos.

We had a great experience at this taco restaurant! The tacos were incredibly delicious — fresh, flavorful, and perfectly prepared. The margaritas were amazing as well, really well-balanced and refreshing. Highly recommend this place if you want great food, great drinks, and a cozy atmosphere. I would definitely come back! Amazing place!

Wonderful taco place in Vallarta! Right in the romantic zone with a great ambience and service, all type of meet are really good, flavorful and with great quality! The tortillas are not handmade which can be the major difference with other popular taco places, however it is still a good option. They have a great option for drinks as well, another fact to take in consideration is that they are a “CASH ONLY” place, which seems pretty normal in all this area. It is totally less crowded than other places, so no waiting time!

Grabbed some tacos with the family here, everything was super good. Guacamole was a hit with the fresh tortilla chips. Tacos Al pastor were awesome, highly recommend. Also salsas were all fresh and something for everyone. The vibes inside were a great addition.

We had a great experience here on a Friday night. The place was a bit busy which we took as a good sign. They have an English side to their menu and a Spanish side which made it easy to order. Our server was Leslie and she was wonderful. We ordered a Jamaica drink and a pinada which were both delicious. We saw someone order the gaucemole and it looked huge and beautiful.. I'd want to try that next time We got the volcanes which had a hard shell tortilla and melted cheese and meat of your choice. It's crazy to say they had the best al pastor we had on PV. Everywhere Else the al.pastor was too dry but here it was perfect. We also got the prime rib one and the steak one and everything was great. We finished our meal with the flan which was nice and thick and rich. Highly recommend!!

I’ve been coming here since they opened, and the food has been consistently excellent. The meats are always high quality, and the service is top-notch—especially if you’re lucky enough to have Arturo as your mesero. My go-to is the Taco Al Pastor—perfectly balanced so you still taste the meat without being overpowered by achiote. Another must-try is the Prime Rib Volcán—huge portions and absolutely delicious. Generous servings, great flavors, and welcoming service keep me coming back every time!

So pleasant. Perfect little place for tacos and virgin drinks. Salsas are very nice. Try the side of onions. Costilla de res is a must!! They serve their tacos in a unique way I sometimes saw growing up in Northern Mexico. They put 3-4 tortillas on a plate and pile the meat on top. This is fun as you build your own tacos, but it does tend to make your last 1-2 tortillas soggy. Don't hesitate to ask for more tortillas.

Such a great place. Nice decor but the winner is the al pastor tacos. Tamarind margaritas deserve a special shout out as well- they were 2 for 1 when we went! Came here first on a food tour but had to come back again after.

We ate here two years ago and couldn’t remember the name of the restaurant! So lucky to find it again that I decided to add photos highlighting the beautiful interior. The menu here is unbeatable. Queso fundido, guacamole, volcanoes, alambres - the pastor here is unmatched. Margaritas so flavorful you’ll want to be adventurous. You’ll have to come again to try the whole menu!

We normally visit Tacos Los Jorochos, and Cabeza de Santa Cruz, but decided to try this restaurant, and were very surprised at how good it is. The char on the Al pastor from real fire vs gas fire, along with the marinade and quality of pork, is outstanding. The costillos and other items are very very good. Nice people, great atmosphere, fun drinks, and reasonable prices. Very happy and definitely recommend.

My husband and I eat here all the time after a day at the beach. It's a relaxed, casual atmosphere, great service (thanks Arely!) and the tacos and alambres al pastor are delicious.

Disfruté de un latte frío con leche de almendras por $57 pesos. El lugar me atrajo con su diseño minimalista tropical, creando una sensación refrescante. Sin embargo, el único inconveniente fue que tardaron aproximadamente 20 minutos en entregármelo.

Si estas buscando un bowl, este es el lugar. Muy rico, saludable. El Jito toast estaba delicioso, la carta es unnpoco reducida, pero encuentras variedad. El único tema es que el servicio fue medio lento, pero se entiende, solo hay una chica atendiendo.

If you come here for tacos and sauces, you’ll be happy. The pastor is the star and the salsa lineup is worth its own applause. We tried the queso fundido with mushrooms and the hueras too, and both were fine, but the tacos are where this place actually shines. Service was fine but noticeably slow, and they’re cash-only, so it ends up as a 4.5 getting rounded down. The room has energy, the staff is friendly, and the food hits once it finally gets to you. No parking, so just Uber and save yourself the headache. Cost is totally reasonable, usually ten to fifteen a person plus drinks. Would I go back? Yes. Great place for tacos

Delicious tacos in Zona Romantica. This spot is on our repeat list. Pretty decent prices for a brick and mortar sit down joint. We’ve been coming for years and always consistently delicious. Great local vibe, good bar. No air conditioning.

Stopped in for a quick bite, and we were not disappointed the tacos del pastor were on another level. The salsas were fresh and overall this spot was great. The guy cutting the trompo was not very friendly I asked to record him for a quick video and he was not having it. Stop in and enjoy some street tacos.

Tenía pasando por el area y desde cuando quería probar los frappes del lugar, hoy fue ese día y la vdd me llevó una mala experiencia fui tipo 1:30pm y pedí un frappe para llevar, el frappe no tenía sabor ni azúcar :/ La vdd pensé que si iba a tener sabor por que incluso me preguntaron qué si quería crema batida 🤷🏽‍♂️ creo que los frappes no son los fuertes del lugar o mejor dicho mi bebida no fue la mejor.

Not sure where those pictures are from, but they don't represent. We ordered prime rib and chicken tacos. It came as plates of meat that burried 3 soggy tortillas. The prime rib was good but the chicken was dry and had no flavor. The margaritas were marginal, the server was friendly but we had to ask for chips. There was 4 of us, we needed more onion and cilantro but got tired of trying to get someone's attention. And the only napkins on the table are bare napkins. There are way too many other options in Puerto Vallarta, I won't be going back.

Mala experiencia. Son varias las ocasiones en que me eh interesado en lo que ofrecen y al preguntar acerca de la elaboraciòn (ya que evito el azucar) la chica que "atiende" al parecer no sabe nada,lo peor es que contesta despota y desinteresadamente. Que feo.
