La Palapa is a hometown Mexican restaurant known for large portions and friendly service. Customers rave about the Burrito Especial and taco Tuesdays. Some find the food bland or overpriced, and the lack of AC can be an issue.

Great food and they are willing to accommodate food restrictions.
Didn’t dine in because the hours changed and they closed an hour earlier then what Google listed
Been getting breakfast burrito s here. They are great. Nice folks too.
Best mexican food in the whole Ukiah area. Super friendly family run business. Love their chilaquiles
It was great no matter what you get there . I love the shrimp burrito and the shrimp tacos .
Food is really good and the service is great.. I definitely recommend it.
Great little south of the border place to eat don't miss taco Tuesday
Food was delicious nice service will be going back!
Amazing food! I highly recommend the wet burrito.
They make excellent Mexican food and the owner/cook is friendly.
Great food, friendly staff, reasonable prices!!
Loved their el pastor tacos. We will be eating here again!
Love this place. Try the shrimp tacos! Super yum!
Good reasonable priced Mexican food only restaurant near this area
Really good food 5 stars, I really recommend it!!
New to the area and this is my go to spot. Service is fast. Food is hot delicious and fresh! The special burrito with shredded chicken is my go-to!
Good food, fresh, well prepared. Nice people, great service.
This is the best Mexican restaurant in Redwood Valley. Easily top 5 overall restaurants in Redwood Valley. Holds the record for longest lasting business in that particular half of the building.
Their salsa and chips was the best ever and I enjoyed the tastiest of meals…chicken enchiladas with salsa verde. Everything fresh and delicious!
Very delicious Mexican food!!! It came our super fast and the waitress was super sweet.
Inexpensive. Friendly. We enjoyed our order. Currently outside eating only. Order inside, wear a mask.
Very tasty humongous burritos and super friendly service. We’ll be back!
Always good food and nice service. You enjoy Mexican food stop by.
Great food and service! Love taco Tuesdays! $1.00ea for chicken or carnitas. Love the roasted jalapenos. A wonderful hometown delight!
Delicious food, awesome service! We love their Burrito Especial. Best in the area, Yumm!
Good food, and dang, the portions were huge! I got the carnitas plate and it was enough for two. I got a to go box and had carnitas again later. :-)
What a gem! We were on a road trip through the area and stopped at La Palapa. I almost never write Google reviews, but I want to encourage others to patronize this little place as well. I can only review what we had: burrito de chile relleno, burrito de carne asada, and the chips. The chips! They are so good -- definitely made in-house. The burritos were fantastic, and much better than we get at home in southern California. SoCal thinks it owns Mexican food, but this was much, much more interesting and flavorful. Be sure to order a salsa a la diabla on the side -- I happened to notice it on the back of the menu, and was a great compliment to La Palapa's great food.
One of my favorite places
Warm & cozy while it's cold out. Dining in you will have a good experience. I always order jaritos mandarin. Staff is always sweet.
Delicious Mexican food!!!! Loved the shrimp quesadilla! Great, friendly, fast service. And they even had my favorite hot sauce - El Yucateco Carribean! Thanks for a great meal!
My first experience eating Birria Tacos was earlier this year in El Paso, TX. I have been looking for them ever since. An employee brought me some from La Palapa today and they were delicious. The beef melted in my mouth. The sauce was flavorful however I added some of the chili paste to spice it up. My tummy is sooooo happy. I will be going in person the next chance I get.
I don’t know what happened here but I ordered a shrimp super burrito and it was sooooo much better than I’ve ever had it here. It ranks in the top 2 burritos I’ve ever had. Also I waited in my car out front and the nice server even brought me my burrito without asking her to. In the pouring rain!

Good, reasonably priced authentic mexican food!
Authentic mexican food, quick and dirty. Also, taco Tuesday features $1 pork tacos, no limit!
Food was excellent, service was very friendly I will recommend this place to friends.
Real good buffet Asian and American food friendly service
It was okay. I guess cant be too picky for the area but the carne asada tasted like it might be dog. Would i eat here again-i think yessir.
I have had their food before and it was better then. Not a lot of flavor this time. Burrito was very dry. Very nice staff.
I went here during the summer. It was hot because there's no air conditioning. There were quite a bit of flies around the table that needed to be constantly waved away from our food. Food was good.
Dirty bathroom, odd an uninviting layout, but the food was all right. The fries looked like they came from a package of Ore Rida. Waitress definitely didn't want us there ,and even someone who may have been a friend/ customer was even calling her out for being unpleasant. Food was alright.
Food is mediocre at best. The salsa tastes like tomato sauce. Everything I've had there I don't want to have again. Hope I don't have to eat there again. Unfortunately there's not much of a selection in Redwood valley.
Service is good. Nice family. Pleasant outdoor patio. Food was very bland. Tasteless pork tamale. Tasteless fajitas. Use spices. And no guacamole or sour cream for fajitas? That was a first. For what it was fajitas overpriced.

So, my folks and I have been to this restaurant a few times in the past, given that we live literally about a minute up the road from the place, and most of the time, the staff was friendly and prompt, the food was great, and our needs were met without issue. I don't know what happened, all of a sudden, but the last two or three times we've been, none of that was true. Tonight, for example: We came in to a mostly empty restaurant, not even the height of the dinner rush. About 6:20-ish, give or take a few minutes. We were seated, had menus and drinks in short order, and the chips were on the table in about as much time as I had to blink. And that was about the point where the service took a sharp nose dive through the floor. Our waitress did not show up again after our initial interaction, until my mother, an hour later, FINALLY got the ticket tossed at her with all the interest one might find in a snobby teen. No refills were offered at any point after the drinks hit the table, which had the lovely effect of putting me off my food because my throat was too dry to finish what I was eating. We finished our food easily fifteen minutes after it arrived, but we're left to sit for forty-five minutes with no acknowledgement from our waitress (or, really, anybody). My sister and I finally got fed up and went out to the car at my mother's urging, and my mother had to then: A) Flag down the waitress for a box for her leftovers B) Ask about our to-go items that we had ordered an hour ago and had yet to show up And when those finally happened, it wasn't even the waitress who brought the items. It was the lady who had been helping in the kitchen. My mother told me quite plainly, "If I had had exact change for our ticket, they would have gotten exact change and not a cent more." Even other tables were being ignored, as a lady who was seated at a booth around the corner from us had to come to the front counter near our table and directly ask one of the staff for something that had yet to have happened for her group. I'm of a more forgiving mindset than my folks tend to be when service is bad like this, but I'll be blunt: if the service is ever this crappy again, I will happily take my business elsewhere. Even if it means driving all the way into Ukiah to do so. These guys are getting two stars for the food, and nothing else.
Bland and not really flavorful..service was cafeteria style and generally not the greatest. Have tried this place a few times while stuck getting tires next door and always regret dining here...sorry just being honest. Maybe others like it? But the tacos were sub par and over prices and $3.50 for a side of beans the size of there salsa dish...ive learned my lesson and there's better options.
Decent food. Small portions for the price.Really small tacos. Guac is green, definately not fresh and does not resemble anything worthy of being called quac.tastes nasty and old!! Salsa varies in thickness of ingredients and liquid! Will drive to Ukiah for some better Mex. Sad!! Suggest Super Taco for the largest overflowing combo plates anywhere in Ukiah. Reasonable prices.
We order food a lot from this establishment and always order food wanting a plate as we eat at the watering hole next door. 50% of the time they will get it right. Yesterday, they did not and didn’t give utensils. My partner went to get utensils and asked why our food was not served on plates. He was told that I did not ask for plates. Very untrue statement. Awhile later a woman from the restaurant came and told my partner to not come back. Very bad way to do business! Even with all the mistakes they make, we were still supporting their business. NOT ANYMORE!

I had their cheese enchiladas last night. These people don't have a clue as to how to make a cheese enchilada. The worst I've ever had.
This place set 2 rounds of chips on my table and charges me for it!? Then 8 bucks for taco Tuesday meal and then 15 bucks for 4 tacos? Nah, bull hockey! 42.01 for 1 drink and 8 tacos, with sour cream being 1.50 extra, screw your bogus business
Way over priced for subpar and bland food. It was an unprofessional dirty little hole in the wall. Servers were not friendly, and didn't wear any gloves or hairnets while preparing food. 🙄. Would not recommend and will not return.
