Ho cenato qui con la mia ragazza mi sono trovato molto bene dall’antipasto all’arrivederci: come antipasto panissa fritta con stracchino eccezionale; fetuccine con mazzancolle e mandilli al pesto come primi piatti, ottimi e pure un abbondanti. Siamo venuti in vacanza 4 giorni e purtroppo abbiamo scoperto questo ristorante solo l’ultima sera! Cibo squisito : abbiamo preso le seppie e il coniglio.. stratosferici!! Servizio impeccabile: ci hanno fatto assaggiare la farinata che non avevamo mai mangiato e che dire dello Sciacchetrá…. Nettare!! Inoltre abbiamo trovato il personale molto gentile, preparato e che ha saputo consigliarci benissimo!!! VIVAMENTE CONSIGLIATO !!!

The best meal and atmosphere! We have been travelling around Europe for the last 3 weeks - Spain, Malta, Sicily, CinqueTerre... our meal tonight at La Grotta, Riomaggiore, has been the best! Our server, Jose, gave us excellent suggestions/ recommendations on local wine and dishes. Came for the walnut sauce pasta - and my goodness - so good! Right down to the cognac finish - perfection! Highly recommend a visit!

The food was really delicious,, especially the anchovy appetizer which was so flavourful with the perfect balance of thyme and lemon. The service was friendly and we enjoyed the wine tasting which featured local wine from Cinque Terre. Wonderful evening in a warm and cozy atmosphère.

After a long day of travel we were greeted by the host and invited to leave our luggage at the front of the restaurant while we waited for our check in time at our rental property. We had a fantastic meal with equally excellent service. The food and drink were top notch. Highly recommend!!

Such a lovely spot in the perfect location in Riomaggiore. We had a great experience from the very beginning - tasty starters and super fresh fish and seafood. We also tried the local Sciacchetrà wine, which was amazing, so much so that we ended up buying a bottle to take home :) The place itself is cosy and welcoming, and the staff were really friendly and attentive without being over the top. Honestly, it felt like one of the best places we could’ve chosen in Riomaggiore.

We came during winter and this is one of the restaurants that was opened in Riomaggiore. I think it deserves a higher star rating as we enjoyed ourselves. Seafood was very fresh. The Octopus & potato, mussels and catch of the day were all very good.

This was THE BEST PASTA I’ve had in Italy, hands down! We are almost done with our 10-day trip all around Italy and we were SO GLAD we stumbled upon this place. They had one table left, thank God! I ordered the spinach and ricotta ravioli with walnut sauce and the entire time I was closing my eyes, savoring each bite from beginning to end. My husband got the pesto dish with the fun squiggly noodles (forgot the name), and both were perfection! We tried the place down the way “Rio Bistro” the following night, which had a Michelin Star, and it was nowhere near as good as this place. Skip the Michelin Star restaurant and go here instead! You will not regret it!

After reading some negative reviews, I almost skipped this place, but I’m so glad I didn’t. This restaurant is not for those on a tight budget or expecting oversized American portions for a bargain price. For us, it turned out to be an amazing choice, and we feel lucky to have stumbled upon it. The food was simply incredible—perfectly portioned, with a freshness and quality that made every bite worth the price. You can tell the dishes are crafted with care and attention to detail. The service was also top-notch, making our dining experience even more enjoyable. Overall, it was a fantastic experience, and we are definitely planning to return. If you’re looking for a restaurant that offers quality over quantity and don’t mind paying a fair price for it, this place is definitely worth a visit.

Truly amazing food! we shared three dishes appetizer, pasta, and the fish if the day special. To start, the mussels were super fresh and delicious. Next, we had fettucine in crab sauce with prawns, delectable. Lastly we had the baked Turbot and it was the perfect end to a delicious meal. 10/10 would eat here again.

We have been in Italy 2 weeks so far, from Rome, Florence, and now Cinque Terre. Service wise, this was the best restaurant we have been to by far. It’s not even close. I sincerely do not understand the low ratings. Our server, Yosei (pronounced “YO-SAY”) was incredible. The food was amazing front to back. Everything was timed well. We had a three hour dining experience. Please do not skip coming here based on some arbitrary low Google reviews.

My daughter and I went in here with no reservation. We ordered a local red wine to try, a dish made with a local, wild plant a tiramisu and a local digestive liquor de finish. It was all incredible. The service was friendly and charming, the prices were fair and the atmosphere was welcoming and comfortable. We are so glad we went in and had an absolutely wonderful experience. I would definitely recommend! The ragu sauce was delicious!

Personale gentile e accogliente, bel posto. Buonasera, parto dal presupposto che non dovevo venirci a mangiare. Situazione più che esilarante con il mio fidanzato, il locale si presenta come un ristorante di alto livello, offrendo una location degna di un ristorante stellato. Di stellato non c’è niente a parte il conto! due antipasti a base di gamberetto annacquati e fritti in una comunissima pastella, un secondo di cozze ripiene da dividere, un “cheesecake al limone”, due bicchieri di vino bianco locale e una bottiglia d’acqua naturale 70 euro. Il menù propone pochissime scelte. Siamo arrivati al locale alle 20:00 e gran parte dei piatti erano terminati. Pasta al pesto proposta a 20 euro, per non parlare del “risotto with mushroom and parmigiane” a 30 euro (non assaggiato fortunatamente) il nome del piatto era sicuramente un degno titolo per un film horror. Classico esempio di ristorante svuota tasche, nato per soddisfare un turismo che gli permette di continuare l’attività ma che mette a rischio l’immagine del settore. Pane non commentabile.
