Nice venue, spacious, and comfortable outdoor space in the summer. The decor is original and fun. The food is good. Lively evenings include karaoke and other events. Prices are in line with other places. A positive experience, worth repeating.
Went for an evening with friends, a nice place, just like it used to be. The wait for a burger was normal. A nice throwback. Plus, the place offers themed quizzes... fun to challenge and joke with the other tables.
The atmosphere is the same as we all remember from the old pub. A classic "wooden pub," warm and welcoming. The staff is truly friendly and helpful, and the service was very fast despite the place being packed. Prices are in line with current averages: burgers start at €9 (bun only, no sides), fried treats start at €4 and aren't greasy (I think they're cooked in the oven or air fryer), beers range from €3.50 to about €6, and pinsas start at €7. A nice surprise is the burger bun... it's GREEN! There's a €2 cover charge for the meal, which isn't listed on the menu, which is why I've lowered my service rating, which would otherwise have been 5 stars. If you like your burgers well-done, I recommend letting me know when ordering, otherwise they'll arrive rare/medium. Overall, I recommend this place to pub lovers, families, and groups of friends for a fun evening out.
Pub located in Rivalta sul Mincio in the province of Mantua. Spacious and welcoming place with many tables. Equipped with a large screen for sporting events. There is also a summer area with just as much space. Large variety of draft and bottled beers available, all very good. The food is excellent but my attention often falls on the sandwiches with a double portion of meat (about 500g of meat alone). They are monstrously large and delicious and the quality of the food is top. Very popular with people from the surrounding area but also with many who come from outside. The prices are more than honest and totally adequate for the quality of the food. The service is friendly and fast without exhausting long waits. It is always an excellent solution for an evening in the company of family or friends.
Awesome, huge burger and pretty chill atmosphere.
Good food, really good beer, rock music, big screen for watching soccer or live concerts
A cozy village pub where you can dine or relax after dinner, perhaps watching a football match on the big screen. The menu includes burgers, pinsa, and various fried appetizers. It's a cozy place, but there's no proper parking, although since it's in the village, you can find a spot eventually.
Aspettato 1 ora per la frittura. dopo aver chiesto al cameriere ci dice che c'erano troppi ordini e la cucina non riusciva a stare al passo...
Nice atmosphere, super friendly waiters. Unfortunately, the food didn't live up to our expectations. The chicken cutlet was tasteless, the Pirate burger was a disaster, from the meat to the bread. I ordered a crème brûlée, which would have tasted good if it hadn't been freezing cold. The beers were good. We definitely won't be back.
I had high expectations when I heard this place was reopening, but instead they're ruining a place the town is very fond of, simply for a matter of organization and timing. I've tried the place three times under the new management (to correct some mistakes), but instead I've confirmed that I won't be going again. A group of 8 people (the place isn't too crowded yet) all ordered hamburgers, and 4 people ordered mixed fried food. After over an hour, nothing arrived (the room was starting to fill up), and the food was delivered to people who arrived minutes after us. They asked us if everything was okay and we explained that we hadn't ordered in an hour. Another 10 minutes passed and the order arrived, but the mixed fried food (which should have arrived first) didn't show up. It arrived at the end of the dinner (requested at least 4 times), and they swapped it with another table, so they had to remake it for us. Hamburger with no sides, fries, nothing. The meat isn't very tasty, basically nothing special, I can make it at home. A mix of fried foods (for two) with a handful of fries, two chicken wings, and some battered vegetables. The service is either too distracted or "nonexistent," meaning some people don't know how to communicate with customers and don't say a word, just standing next to the table and waiting for their orders. For what I ate, the prices are way too high, considering the quality, the location, and especially the disorganized service. I understand bringing something new, perhaps for a younger audience—in fact, I appreciated it and was looking forward to the reopening—but since the menu is limited, at least they should be done well, with some flair.
2.0 disaster! Let's start from the beginning: The welcome upon arrival was nonexistent; we were completely ignored, much to our surprise. Once seated, we ordered side dishes, sandwiches, and drinks (spoiler: forget about the old-fashioned large sandwiches!), but the order was completely random. The beers (excellent, but you can't go wrong with that) arrived 20 minutes later, even though some were bottled, so there was no need to pour them. The sandwiches were also delayed, but that could be explained by the busy restaurant. The bread wasn't good, the burgers were double the price and half the price. The side dishes were almost forgotten by the staff, which we would have preferred before the sandwiches. The fries were awful, but the stuffed olives were good. Of course, they asked us three times what we'd ordered for sides, because apparently, writing them down on your list isn't helpful. At this point, considering how long it takes, we ordered coffee and dessert together, but their common sense tells them that coffee should be drunk before dessert... Hmm! Oh, I almost forgot, half of the stuff we asked for wasn't there 🙃 Chicken nuggets finished, Red Hot finished, tiramisu finished... Ruined a place, what a shame...
Could be improved in many ways. The products are certainly good quality. It's a shame about the service, which was a bit sketchy, and some inconveniences: We asked if Lobourg beer was available and were told yes. Shortly afterward, we were told the beer was sold out. We ordered a trio of sausages (which included fries and a pretzel), but they were served without pretzels. When asked for an explanation, the answer (as with the beer) was that the pretzels were sold out. The trio of sausages itself was partially inedible, due to some literally charred pieces of meat. We won't repeat the experience.
I went there 00:40 they closed the kitchen. What is the pount of advertising 1 if you close early. Bad
We booked well in advance to participate in the Harry Potter-themed "The Brain" game (with the chance to win two tickets to the London studios). After dinner, we registered online for the game. When it was time to collect the remote controls, I was second to last in line, but when it was my turn, the host informed me that the last two remotes were not working. The host, seeing me as the second to last contestant, immediately informed me of the situation with the non-working remotes, without even asking for my registration number. It was known that not all those who had booked/registered would be unable to participate due to a known technical issue... So why weren't we informed immediately? At that point, we would have freely chosen whether to participate in the evening, aware of the risk of not playing. Or could the last two reservations have been excluded? We decided to pay the bill for dinner and leave the pub halfway through the evening. I also explained the situation to the waitresses present and the cashier. Everyone apologized, but the bill remained the same. In these cases, I suggest offering at least a drink as compensation, since we booked and dined specifically to participate in the game.
Almost all the reviews refer to the old management, so the stars you see don't reflect reality. The quality of the ingredients is embarrassing, the service even worse, with forgotten orders and waitresses bickering over a mistake. We had a "pirate" sandwich: the bread was terrible, and the fries were undercooked, even worse than McDonald's, and the portion was small. The desserts aren't even worth mentioning, otherwise this review would become a complete write-up. The only redeeming feature, and one that's hard to beat, is the beer. A lovely reminder of a place that was completely ruined. Highly discouraged; if you want to save money on food, cook something at home; you'll definitely make better choices and you can't go wrong.
