I had a absolutely scrumpulous experience at the shake shack on N Adams road in Rochester. A friend of mine recently had a wedding there and was wedded to a burger. Beautiful ceremony, I cried so much it overfilled the mop bucket they granted me to contain my tears. Anyways, the food was marvelous. I only had one issue: the waiter refused me service after seeing me eat wood chips in the parking lot :( It was easily forgiven as I was able to take 43.8 cubic yards of mulch home as a wedding favor! I think I might have my wedding here as well, once I find a lover who enjoys wood chips as much as I.

I've been to the Hall Rd and Troy location, this is the best location! The burger was perfectly cooked, and the fries were super hot and fresh! It also only took like 4 minutes. For new visitors, the burgers are smashburgers kind of reminds me of an upgraded Steak n Shake. Price wise they are a little less than Five Guys. But definitely higher quality than Wendy's burgers

The folks at the Rochester Hills location have always been friendly and efficient, and today's order was no different. I walked in to pick up the order I had placed on the app, and asked if I could add a soda to my order. The manager stepped in and saw that I was kind of rushed/stressed, and he gave me my soda for free. With a big smile. This gentleman had no idea how much I needed a little bit of kindness and generosity today, and I am grateful.

Amazing food, me and my friends went on their opening day and got a free meal. However the only complaint is they did not mark one of the burgers gluten free, my friend that is allergic bit into the wrong burger! Luckily she didn't eat too much of it.. Please label in the future.

Great food and awesome staff at the Rochester Hills store. The Cashier Jayshawn and our Hostess Elise were SUPER friendly. The manager on duty was helpful and made sure things were correct. GREAT scenery to eat. The only Con is it was a little pricey.

No it’s not a gourmet restaurant but I was quite impressed. This is my first time trying their food. I can’t show pictures I ate it too fast. I tried the shroom burger and spicy stack burger. Very spacious location. Was able to order via tablet located at the center when you walk in. I like the cool walk up window for those that doesn't wish to dine in. I opted to dine in and the place was clean and kinda empty so no worries about social distancing. I got the all beef hotdog, cheese fries and lemonade. I could've ate one hotdog but I got two instead so I was stuffed!

Great food, great shakes, great atmosphere, I’m so glad we have one here in Rochester finally. One problem though . . . was having serious trouble actually getting the text confirmation for the order, and both times I put in my number I got the original confirmation but was never given the message when my food was ready. Probably something to work out on your end.

Didn't like chicken nuggets. My granddaughter had these, and she loves nuggets or tenders. The nuggets are like crispy/burned...just too much. She ate 2 and left the rest. I tasted them and I agreed. Hamburgers are good but too small. Fries are really good.

Main complaint is I waited way longer than I should have because the text confirmation never come thru when I did the window pick up. Also my burger was raw in 2 different areas but I took it back and the staff was very friendly, gave me a replacement very quickly, gave me a coupon for another burger for another time, and a drink. The quality of the new burger was great as expected. Great customer service, really just hope the text confirmations get fixed as they get settled in

Quick service! My wife and I went here and will definitely return. We had several when we lived in Minnesota and this was the first one I've found in Michigan. To be fair, I wasn't looking for it, but I'm glad I found it! Unfortunately the Kiosks weren't working properly when we arrived. Technical issues. No issues with the food though! Food was hot and fresh and we loved it! The only disappointing part was the seating. My wife and I had a hard time getting comfortable. Because she's currently pregnant, she couldn't fit into the booths. The tables had chairs that were also uncomfortable. Besides seating, food was fantastic and staff were super friendly!

I was excited to find a Shake Shack where I happened to be. I was very excited to get one of their nondairy shakes. Unfortunately, I was told it was discontinued. I could have gone to many places where I was at, but specifically went to Shake Shack for the nondairy Shake. Bummer! Please bring it back.

Ordered to the pick up window a couple times now and they never actually use the display screen list for ready orders, which can be a bit confusing when you’re standing there after getting a text to watch the screen. Other than that, food is tasty and generally ready on time. The new Black truffle burger was quite good.

This was my first experience ordering from a tablet inside a fast food restaurant. The food arrived at my table 5 minutes from when I ordered it - fast! I ordered a Shack burger, chocolate shake, and chicken nuggets. The shake was cold, thick, and about what I'd expect from a fast food place. But I would not say it's cheaply priced. The nuggets looked great.. bite sized and crunchy.. freshly fried and hot! But they tasted like fried hot dogs. I had to bite one in half to see it was in fact still chicken. The burger was decent. I liked it. If I return I'm ordering the burger again and probably only adding something simple like fries and a soft drink.

I absolutely love their food. It's like our go-to spot for fast food burgers of chicken sandwiches. The people working are always nice and happy as well. The place is typically pretty dirty though. Most of the tables are pretty gross if they're any kind of busy, and there are splatters on the walls that have been there longer than I've been eating there. You'd think that for as much as they charge for the food, which is pretty exorbitant for what you're getting, they'd manage to schedule someone for a few hours a week to clean the place up a bit. Really does bring the vibe down a little. Food does not travel well, so I'd probably avoid take-out or delivery

First heard of Shake Shack in D.C. several years ago. Then they opened where I lived in Florida. Now I find them in my digs in SE Michigan. Cool beans. About time I get to a review then. This location has kiosks. I'm not a huge fan but I do see upsides to them: order customization & accuracy, getting multiple orders at a time, avoiding tip-flation concerns, etc. The menus on these 4 kiosks work well, better than several others I've had to deal with. Was able to place my order easily with no salt on the fries selected. As part of the ordering process you grab a # (for the younger generations, that's a number not a hash tag. For the older ones, it's not a pound sign or octothorpe 😁). Food was delivered a few minutes later, hot enough that a moment's pause was needed. Fries have a good exterior crunch. The burger is well-made, not overly sauced and sloppy, not dry either. Just right, Red. Next time, a shake is needed. The space is big, open, not loud but with some echoing. A bit impersonal though.

A good fast food joint in the Rochester Village Mall that used to be Meadowbrook. Came in for a quick lunch while shopping at the mall. We liked the burgers, for how fast they came up, they were better than a typical fats food burger. The fries were also perfectly salty and crispy. The shake was good and not as sweet as we were expecting. The food came out fast and has a self serving terminal but we really didn't interact with any staff so it's hard to say how the service is. The atmosphere is modern and reminds of a Chipotle which is nothing special. It just is what it is. Overall not bad and I would recommend it for a quick bite.

Was my first time ever going to shake shack, was average at best nothing special in my opinion, was extremely pricey for what you get. A burger fries and shake will cost you $19 bucks give or take. Definitely get the same quality elsewhere for a cheaper price.

If I had one word to describe Shake Shack, it would be mediocre. For the time we waited (over 45 minutes) and the food we received, I would have rather gone to Burgerz right down the road. The toppings on our burgers were minimal. I asked for lettuce, pickle, and onion. The lettuce piece on my burger was pitiful, both moderately wilted and about the size of a small spinach leaf. My husband's truffle burger had a minimal amount of shallots and sauce on it. Our fries were cold by the time we got them since I'm sure they were sitting under a heat lamp while the team there trued to assemble people's orders. Our shakes were pretty good, but both Burgerz and Red Knapp's in downtown Rochester have good shakes and much better food. To be honest, I think Shake Shack is over-hyped. I think we have plenty of local gems in the area that are much better in terms of food quality and service. Our food wasn't terrible, but it wasn't spectacular either. Would we go back? Possibly once all the hype dies down. **edit**Our visit today (27 June 2022) was much better. We would come back again if we went on a Monday or a Tuesday when they're not as busy.

I had a double shack burger at one of my favorite places today. Unfortunately , I have to say the last 2 times, I’ve gone to this location, the burger was too salty. The initial time I had it, I just thought it was an off day. Today, yet again it was a salty burger. I don’t know if they changed their recipe, but that was a lot of salt. Oh well - I’ll give it another go sometime.

I heard all the hype about Shake Shack. I guess the only two things I can compare it to is Culver's and 5 Guys Burgers @ Fries. They have a self serve kiosk to place your order using a credit card. They also have a separate line for cash customers. The store itself is brand new with a nice dinning area. There was a self serve condiment station with ketchup ,Salt, pepper, and a water station. We had to wait for our food. The place cooks every order as it is received exactly like Culver's. You are sent a text when your food is ready. You must go back to counter and give your name to receive your food. The meal itself was good . It was 25 dollars for 2 burgers ,one French fry , and 2 drinks. I guess this is the new expectation that people can afford to take the family and eat here but it won't be cheap thats for sure. The burger was kind of like Culver's butter burger and the fries were similar. 5 guys you get a lot more food and an enormous amount of fries with your meal. For the same amount of cash. We did not try the shakes or custard . I am failing to see why there is a lot of hype about the shake shack . I can understand that wages and food costs have gone up. I do like that the Shake Shack pays their people 15 dollars an hour. The customers are paying for that in the form of higher food prices. This place is good but not great. I love hamburgers this burger sort of reminds me of Wendy's many years ago. There is no drive through so you must walk in the store to order. There also is no drink station to refill your soft drinks in the dinning area. Nice to have available if you want a refill of soda. Both Culver's and 5 Guys have an excellent drink station area.

I'm rating it only 3 Stars because I thought shake shack used beef tallow, the burger I had yesterday was absolutely amazing and I ate it thinking it was fried in beef tallow and come to find out it's steak and shake that uses it. I got the 2 chains confused. Until you start using beef tallow sadly I won't be back even though I probably ate the best burger I've ever had.

Decided to try this since I was in the area, ordered a shack burger with bacon. Couldn't taste the sauce they use because of how little was on it, was disappointed in the burger, not much flavor, no onions or pickles to choose either. The fries were ok but at that price you are better off to buy them at the store and fix them yourself. Had the chocolate shake and it was really good so if I ever stop in again the shake would be the only thing I have. The price was outrageous for a single burger, fries and shake.

Not bad, first time coming to this brand new location, food was good, I ordered bacon cheese fries with mango passion fruit, service wasn’t the best, it took almost 10 minutes for the register guy to appear, but overall not a bad place.

Not good. Everything was soggy. Pictures on the website during mobile ordering are a complete misrepresentation of the food you are actually given. Plus, it’s expensive. Spend $10 less for a family of five at a takeout place we love. Fries are fine, but that’s all. I miss living closer to a five guys.

Just ate at this Shake Shack at the Rochester Mall. I looked at the reviews online before I went and it was only getting about 3.1 stars. I’ve eaten at other Shake Shack locations in the past and had good experiences so I was willing to forgo the existing reviews… I wish I would’ve listened. Walked in and there was nobody in line. I asked where to place my order and they pointed to the kiosks. So ”I” have to do the work to look through the iPad and pick my food to place my order?? Call me old school, I find this annoying. Ordered a cheeseburger, small fry, 6 piece (small nuggets) and a small chocolate shake. Total was just over $22 bucks. Seemed a little high but I went forward with the order. After waiting roughly 10 minutes, I got my food. The burger was decent, fries were cold, nuggets were average and the chocolate shake was so thick I couldn’t get it through a straw. I ate my whole meal (took maybe 10-15 minutes), and had to get a glass of water cause I still couldn’t get a single drop of shake through the straw. I then drove all the way home in Lake Orion (almost 20 minutes away)… still could not get any shake through the straw! As I sit at home writing this review, about 1 hour 10 minutes after receiving the chocolate shake, I am just now able to get it through the straw. You would think with someone with the name “SHAKE” in their business name, that they would serve a product that could be enjoyed with the meal when being served. I gave 2 stars because the burger was decent. But everything else, including the value I received for $22 bucks, just isn’t worth it. Maybe others will have a better experience.

It was a nice place until this middle-aged blonde woman became store manager recently in evening times. She is rasict or something or what, but she has a continuous problem. I have never said anything to her, but as soon as I order, she whispers something to whomever worker is making food and tries to deliberately delay my order. Even after food is ready, while I'm standing in front of the counter, she will keep packing orders for other people who are not even there and will put my shake in the freezer. Such unprofessional and frustrating behavior

One member of our party had his order fail to go through, so he waited 20 minutes until he prodded the staff for the order to be made. It probably happened because the ordering system is flawed. You can either order on a kiosk with a card, in which 2/4 kiosks were broken, or you can order with cash and have your purchase forgotten. The food is decent at best, but expensive for what it is. It's obviously stumbling for a restaurant that just opened.

Dirty tables everywhere, random bits of old food under the tables… not busy at the time we ordered, employees kinda relaxing? Cleaned our own table to sit and suffer through a flatened, soggy bun, burger wrapped in an equally soaked paper wrapper. My kids hotdog was not edible. I imagine this place won’t last.

First this place is overrated. It is clean and I like the key pad to put in your order. However, once getting the order it was NOT correct. I didn’t receive my fries. While waiting for them to put everything in the bag, they still left things out. My burger was NOT cooked well either. The pictures online look scrumptious. My family was very disappointed. The burgers are as small as a McDonald’s chicken sandwich. I have MEN who like hearty burgers…meat lovers. We would have been better off with a nice pizza and some wings for a Friday night. We ordered dinner at 5:00 on a Friday night; carry-out. My husband picked it up, we ordered 7 total items. The bag originally had 4 boxes inside. So he told the man that when the order was completed that's when he would take it. The employee said, "What are you missing?" To which my husband responded, "I don't know, but that's definitely not everything I ordered." Even when the manager came over to help he proceeded to defend the employee rather than correct the situation. In the end, we received most of the items we ordered, although we were missing sauce for 2 orders of chicken bites, a burger and an order of fries were made wrong, and EVERYTHING was cold and soggy. We had such high hopes for this place because we had heard great things, but after this first encounter with them we will never go back. The food and the customer service are inexcusable.

$15.89 for a triple cheeseburger that I had to look into the bag to verify there was something in there after being handed my order because the bag was so light. The burger tasted like it had been sitting on the grill for quite a while. I felt scammed.

My first time eating at Shake Shack. I thought I’d try it since it is nearby Oakland University and offers a couple vegetarian options. I ordered a veggie burger with a double patty and chilly cheese fries. The burger was actually pretty good, though a bit small, especially considering the meal for one cost $18. Inflation is really hitting these fast food joints! But all this is not why I gave such a low rating. The reason why happened to me shortly after dinner - a very upset stomach which completely emptied me out, if you get what I’m saying. It was definitely the food, as this never happens to me. I will not be coming back here.

Fantastic service, however those with food allergies beware. We chose to eat here because their veggie burger was free of tree nut according to their website. We double checked in-person before ordering with the manager, who actually informed us that it contained tree nut allergen. This is very dangerous for those picking up/delivering an order, or who otherwise may not be able to confirm with the store directly. For public knowledge, other tree nut allergen items included nondairy custard and shake, and items made in a tree nut facility included the herb mayo, chicken breader, cheese sauce, sausage link, chicken bites and sandwich, carmelized onions, ranch, and strawberry lemonade. Again, the manager was extremely diligent. Corporate, update your website!

Chicken bites was like eating a hush puppy with a teeny piece of chicken hidden inside. Why so much breading? The bacon cheeseburger was so greasy I could only eat a few bites. The fries were good. Didn't try a milkshake. Burgerz across the street is so much better!

The restaurant was very dirty, the hamburger meat was overcooked, we ordered three milkshakes, we didn't like one of them and asked to change it for another one, they told us it wasn't possible.

Ordered thru Uber eats, they did not give the driver our entire order and no one fixed the problem left us hanging. No one would answer the phone at Shake Shack either.

Honestly for how expensive this place is, the food is pretty mediocre. My burger was really dry and my fries were cold. Probably won't come back again unless they lower their prices. Update: This place was worse the 2nd time I tried it and the prices increased which is WILD. They charge the same price as 5 guys but 5 guys is 10x better. Do yourself a favor and get culvers for half the price and twice as much food. Will NEVER come to a shake shack again.

My elderly mom stopped for food on the way home, she doesn't use the plastic, she paid CASH. They did not give her any kind of receipt, so she has no proof about the order that was WRONG. The chicken sandwich and shake were good, but she got cheated out of fries and and the burger was not what she ordered and nasty besides. Not sure what the problem is with this place, this is our third disappointing try, but I am done with them. Editing to add that mom became violently ill, and we are DEFINITELY not eating here again!

Made an order online for pick up. Arrived onstate they have never heard of me. The manager says I'll look into it. Comes back says my order was cancelled, says coyly, can't solve the world's problems but I can solve yours. Gag. Makes my order off I go then see I was charged more than my original order. Off to five guys I go. Never again manager. I wish I would have gotten his name to send to corporate but acting this way, karma.

Honestly had an open mind going into this Shake Shack and was excited about it opening. I have tried it out three times now just to confirm what I thought about the place...and every time I've been let down. The chicken sandwich doesn't seem fresh (couldve been reheated from a freezer and been better), also the portions could feed a toddler at best... when paying nearly $7 for a sandwich I'd expect much better. Not the mention the fries nearly being $3-4 tasted almost uncooked/stale. You're better off driving 5 mins down the road and getting fries from Kroger and heating them up in the microwave for a similar taste. To put the cherry on top, I tried to place my order online to be picked up at the window once, and after receiving a text that my order was almost ready, I went and waited by the window...but my name wasnt on the screen. I waited about 5 mins, and decided to go inside to speak to someone about it, and the directed me to the pickup cabinet they have inside. Why even have the window pickup in the first place??

The burger for the price is not worth it, the patty was not evenly cooked and I only had a single leaf of lettuce in my burger, the bread was also average and the size of the burger is comparable to a slider. The Fries ware stale and you could taste the old oil they were cooked in. Do yourself a favor and go to Five Guys or Culvers you'll pay just as much and get a way better burgers and fries.

I went there for the first time on my way to spend the night dogsitting with my daughters dogs. Shake shack was on my way so since I had not been there before and was coming from work I thought I would give it a try. I ordered a burger and some cheese fries. I used the kiosk to order and paid with my debit card. When it was time to pick up my food I noticed that the young man packing it up was struggling to get any cheese out of the cheese container and just shook his head and threw my fries in the bag .I went outside to investigate my order and sure enough,no cheese on the fries. I went back in to see if I could get the cheese that I had already paid for on my fries. There were two manager looking guys and the young man who just gave me the fries with no cheese standing there. They said they were out of cheese and gave me two cards for free shakes. I took my sister there yesterday and we both got sandwiches and cheese fries and tried to use the free shake cards but the manager charged me for the shakes and did not provide me with a reciept. I also did not get the crispy onions that were supposed to be on my chicken sandwich. Not quite sure about this place. Seems a bit shaky to me.

Edited my review from a 5 to a 1. Ordered $35 worth of food and we ended up with an entirely wrong order worth probably $20. One of the four items was correct. I get mistakes happen, but typically it's one item, not 75% of it while paying more than received. Just a brutal experience.

They close at 10 and me and a few friends walk in at 9:00. We get in and a blond older worker starts yelling at us like we did something horrible. Horrible experience I just wanted food. She could’ve calmly told us they were only taking online orders at the time but instead she chose to scream at us.

Showed up here to pick up a door dash, didn’t know the place was closed 1 minute before I got there. Not a problem, except I assumed they still had the order and they all completely ignored me and wouldn’t open the wall up window and let me stand there for another ten minutes before locking it in my face. I expect that behavior from the 17 year old that was working there but not the full grown man who came and locked the door. How hard is it to simply open the window and say they didn’t complete the order? Unprofessional, rude, and LAZY.

Fix your prices on Uber Eats. $26 for a barely 1/10 lb burger?

Where do I begin? I just want to say, this place is not worth your time or your money. I walk in, and there are about 10 to 15 employees just standing around, talking about hot college girls at a Texas college with a water park. I ignore it, and I start to place my order on the kiosk. About 5 to 10 minutes later, my food is ready (Which is absolutely insane considering all the employees that are standing around as well as the one other customer that is waiting, and nobody is in the dining room) except, I did not order any food, the only thing I ordered was two chocolate milkshakes. This place is a rip off. I paid six dollars for each milkshake, and they have the audacity to ask me to pay an additional $.50 for whipped cream. Since when did whipped cream become a luxury item on a milkshake? I won’t be back. I’ve been here before for the food and it was complete garbage. The only thing I somewhat liked was the milkshakes. But I’m not coming back for that either now considering the insane customer service, as well as the overpriced milkshakes that aren’t even that good and are the size of a culvers small drink.

I start with a positive. The sandwich was good. Aside from having to order from a tablet and then them asking me to tip after paying for an overpriced sandwich even though i havent even spoken to a human is absolutely disgusting. I didnt tip of course and i think the cooks know that because when my food was getting brought to my table i thanked the person bringing to me and they just cold stared at me both times with out saying a word. Which honestly is fine but it felt bad and weird. I will never be back here and thats fine. Youre not missing anything from this place full of racist little white kids and thier money hungry employer.

We came to the Shake Shack location in The Village on the last day of school. Big mistake. We waited 40 minutes for our food. They were clearly unprepared for the lunchtime rush - disorganized and did not have an effective system in place to coordinate getting the orders out in a timely matter.

Large fountain drink priced at $3.99 There is no timetable in existence of humankind that a fountain soda beverage at a food joint should be priced at more than $1.49. So like almost triple a fair price. The rest of their menu mostly follows this same gougery.

They said they never got our online order even though they charged my card so we had to cancel the non order and still were almost late to our event.

As a visitor to the area, I stumbled upon this place and was delighted by the food, which led me to come back two days in a row. However, the quality of the experience varied greatly between the two nights. The first night was fantastic, while the second night was disappointing. Consistency in serving good food is essential. Also, 5 onion rings for 4.99? Wow.

We got 2 sandwiches to go, and they gave us this bag. Look at inside. One of the two items was left completely unwrapped. Is this the standard packaging for takeout? Considering the price, I was shocked by how cheap the customer service felt. Are they trying to cut costs?

The whole pace is dirty and even though all of the employees are very sweet, the food sucks! They filled up my overpriced milkshake about halfway and said all the empty space was for the whipped cream that I didn't pay extra for. They also burnt my grilled cheese to a crisp. When I tell you it was black- I mean it was 100% charred!

we ordered an online order from their website, when the food arrived over an hour later the order was incomplete. when we called the store the woman would not honor the incomplete order and said take it up with DoorDash who couldn't find the order. Bad business practice, they need to stand by their product and if the outsourced delivery company is causing a service problem they need to either own it or fire them

Ordered a schack burger, fries and drink. Everything was super cold like it was out for a long time and got a bun with a cheese in it, nothing else. I’m really upset as I paid for it and can’t even speak with anyone to correct the order as nobody is picking up. Never again I will spend money there.
