Cercavamo un posto vicino al Vaticano per pranzare e ci siamo imbattuti in questa trattoria ristorante con recensioni ottime. Avevo il timore fosse uno di quei posti turistici in cui chi prova per la prima volta la cucina italiana la trova stupenda mentre per noi italiani l’asticella è un po’ più alta. E invece… già quando ho chiamato per prenotare ho parlato con Giorgio che è stato garbato e disponibile e questo mi ha fatto pensare che sarei rimasta sorpresa e.. appena arrivati ho ritrovato sempre Giorgio e confermo che è davvero gentile e professionale oltre che simpatico. Per quanto riguarda il cibo una buona offerta per tutti i gusti. Siamo rimasti tutti molto soddisfatti di tutte le pietanze scelte, buone sia di gusto che di qualità degli alimenti, a partire dall’olio usato. Ci hanno accolto con un piccolo tagliere di salame e bruschette con l’olio accompagnati da un prosecco. Il pane davvero buono. Abbiamo preso un tagliere di salumi e formaggi, forse unica nota è che avrei inserito qualche fettina di formaggio in più, ma salumi e formaggio davvero ottimi. Poi abbiamo preso una scottona con contorni di carciofi alla romana, patate al forno e cicoria ripassata. Ottimi carciofi e patate, cicoria niente di speciale. Abbiamo accompagnato tutto con un Etna rosso molto molto buono. Anche la carne davvero un ottimo sapore, leggermente cotta in più della mia richiesta per un piccolo misunderstanding. Per concludere tiramisù e babà e anche questi molto buoni. Un po’ per la location ci sta che i prezzi siano un pó alti o rispetto alla media, sopratutto per quanto concerne i vini, di cui da appassionati ne conoscevamo molti da conoscerne i relativi prezzi. Piccola nota per migliorare un servizio e un’esperienza già molto buona, è l’attesa un po elevata dell’antipasto (abbiamo tamponato con quel tagliere offerto e con il loro pane molto buono ma comunque abbiamo atteso più di un’ora). È un posto che consiglio e in cui sicuramente tornerò. Che bello aver trovato un posto così al centro dove quasi sempre la qualità è un po’ troppo turistica. Ah… dimenticavo… che spettacolo la cucina a vista fronte strada, per me sinonimo di qualità! Un grazie va sopratutto a Giorgio che ha reso questo pranzo ancora più piacevole. A presto 🤗

Siamo stati da Angelo in famiglia e l’esperienza è stata davvero ottima. La trippa è geniale, saporita e fatta come si deve, mentre la carbonara è quella vera, cremosa, equilibrata e senza trucchi. Si sente quando in cucina c’è mano romana. Ma il vero valore aggiunto è il servizio: Giorgio, il nostro cameriere, è stato fantastico. Gentile, attento, simpatico e sempre pronto a consigliare con il sorriso. Con una famiglia non è scontato sentirsi così a proprio agio. Quando cibo e servizio vanno di pari passo, la serata riesce alla grande. Torneremo sicuramente!

FANTASTICI. Atmosfera accogliente, ambiente curato ma senza perdere quel calore familiare che ti fa sentire subito a casa. I piatti che abbiamo mangiato sono stati semplicemente eccellenti: piatti della tradizione preparati con ingredienti di qualità e tanto amore. Si sente che la cucina è fatta con passione vera, dai primi fino al dolce. Porzioni abbondanti e sapori autentici, proprio come una volta. Il personale è gentile, attento e sempre con il sorriso, cosa che fa davvero la differenza. È uno di quei posti dove torni volentieri e che consigli senza esitazione ad amici e famiglia. Eravamo alla ricerca di una vera trattoria con cucina tipica romana, non da turisti, entrando da Angelo abbiamo trovato subito una accoglienza esemplare un cibo fantastico , proprio come lo immaginavamo! La amatriciana è i pici con i carciofi rispecchiavano la tipicità culinaria che cercavamo, e tutto il resto dell’accompagnamento al pranzo e stato buonissimo pane e olio un buon vino frizzante e per finire con i dolce e moscato ! Ci ha servito Giorgio con un modo di fare molto famigliare simpatico ma molto attento e professionale. E per finire abbiamo conosciuto Francesco che ci ha fornito l’ultimo abbraccio di ospitalità !!! Pranzo da Angelo della famiglia Marchatti: semplicemente fantastico! Carbonara, cacio e pepe e amatriciana da applausi, vino ottimo e un tiramisù che ci ha fatto sorridere fino all’ultimo cucchiaio. Caffè, limoncello e via… felici e sazi! Un grazie speciale a Giorgio: simpaticissimo, spiritoso e super accogliente — ci ha fatto sentire come a casa (ma con la cucina molto meglio della nostra 😄). Conosco Angelo da anni, e ogni volta che varco la soglia della sua osteria è come tornare a casa – ma con un twist romano da alta cucina che mi lascia a bocca aperta. La sua maestria con i piatti tradizionali elevati a capolavori è pura magia: carbonara cremosa al punto giusto, amatriciana piccante e saporita, cacio e pepe che si scioglie in bocca. Non è solo cibo, è poesia su un piatto! E poi c’è Francesco, il figlio e direttore di sala, un gentiluomo che accoglie con un sorriso contagioso e ti fa sentire VIP. Tutta la famiglia è coinvolta – staff inclusi altri figli del titolare – e si vede: servizio impeccabile, attenzione ai dettagli, calore autentico che trasforma una cena in un ricordo indelebile. Probably the best restaurant I've visited in Rome! We came here for dinner a little after dinner and food was absolutely perfect. The burrata with honey was a delicious appetiser, my first saltimbocca was flavorful but not overwhelming. My parents ordered pasta and they enjoyed too. The absolute star was the apple tart and tiramisu though. They were rich and the quality of the ingredients really shown through. Thank you Signore Roberto for being so kind to us during our dinner, the service was excellent and we'll definitely be returning. Truly a stand out restaurant.

A great first lunch to start off our trip! We dropped by after seeing it on the way to Vatican City. The exterior & interior was cozy and charming. The staff & atmosphere was welcoming, especially GIORGIO! He surprised us with some small drinks on the house & showed so much warmth and patience in guiding our dining experience. We ordered a pasta, a suckling pig, a salad and a tiramisu. The portions were all generous. The pasta was perfectly al dente & the bacon was much thicker than typically. The suckling pig was filled with many aromatic herbs, and the accompanying roasted potatoes added a good texture. The salad was refreshing throughout our meal. Tiramisu was great & moist too. We are so glad that we were able to come here for dinner on our last night in Rome, it was such a beautiful end to our time here. All staff were wonderful, but extra gratitude goes to Roberto. He was so friendly and welcoming, and the fact that we do not speak the same language did not matter in the slightest. He recommended an 'off menu' starter for us to share after we asked for something that had sold out, and we were so pleased with it! The wine was so delicious. Our pasta dishes were remarkable and the whole atmosphere was so wholesome and authentic. There is some history of the restaurant in the first page of the menu too which is a very nice touch. We highly recommend Angelo's and if we revisit Rome we will most certainly return ourselves. Thank you to the chefs, and to all of the wonderful staff we met last night! 🥰

My husband and I spent 3 days in Rome. Since our hotel was right around the corner we decided to try this restaurant. We were not disappointed! I had recently broken my leg and was in a wheelchair and the staff made me feel very comfortable. Can I just tell you how good this restaurant is? The charcuterie platter of assorted salamies and cheeses was out of this world. We also had the cacio e Pepe ( this one was with mint and it was delicious) my husband had the carbonara! Fantastic restaurant! We will be back next year.

We went here at the suggestion of our tour guide and it was the best decision. The restaurant is located across from the Vatican, there is outdoor seating, and a lot of indoor seating. We were treated like royalty by our server Giorgio and the other staff. The food was literally the best I’ve ever eaten. We had bruschetta, bread and salami, and ordered 3 different pastas. Everything they have is fresh and you can taste it. My favorite was the bruschetta gourmet, which had ricotta cheese and truffle on top. Their servings are large but expect to eat everything there and not take anything home. If I could give more than 5 stars I would.

Thank you, Aiven! The food was served quickly and perfectly timed. While waiting for our bottle of wine, we were offered a glass of prosecco, which was a very nice touch. The atmosphere was calm and clean. Through the windows, you can see the open kitchen – a clear sign that this restaurant has nothing to hide. My wife and I enjoyed a perfect dinner here, in a setting where we could talk and relax without any rush.

We ate here on the first day of our arrival in Rome. We were immediately welcomed by our very kind waiter, Aiven. He gave us very good recommendations based on our preferences. We went for the Mozzarellina Angelo and the Amatriciana. Additionally, we were given a drink which is made from the same grapes as Prosecco and were served bread with authentic Italian olive oil and salumi. They also took care of us by giving us enough bread throughout the whole dinner. To finish, we shared a tiramisù, which is a good portion for two and were given a sweet dessert wine! To top it off, the kind waiter gave a shot of limoncello on the house! The whole experience was amazing. The Amatriciana was for sure one of the best pasta dishes I’ve every eaten. We will definitely come back if we return to Rome.

Abbiamo pranzato qui dopo una visita a San Pietro. Eravamo in quattro, non avevamo prenotato, ma ci hanno fatto accomodare rapidamente. Per ragioni di tempo abbiamo ordinato solo un piatto a testa. Ci hanno servito una entrée offerta di bruschette all’olio EVO e salame e prosecco. La pasta era molto buona, un pochino sapida, ma ovviamente avendo ordinato piatti con il guanciale non poteva essere altrimenti. Il cameriere Giorgio é stato molto gentile, disponibile e simpatico! In quattro abbiamo speso 28€ a testa per un primo ciascuno, una birra, una Pepsi e due acque. Lo consigliamo se vi trovate in zona Vaticano

We had dinner here a few weeks back and we wanted real Roman food. You don’t get disappointed here. The food was really delicious. Only downsides are that we have been offered to have mint on the pasta (there was no other option really) and got charged two extra euros for the mint, without having been told. It felt a bit shady. We felt a bit pushed out whilst we were finishing the dinner as clearly the closing time was approaching, we would have appreciated less prompting to finish. But really the food deserved to be eaten 😊
