La mia prima volta in questo storico ristorante romano. Alta era l’aspettativa ma è stata addirittura superata. Ambiente fantastico che ti riporta un po alla DolceVita. Personale gentilissimo ed estremamente disponibile. Le famose fettuccine in primis sono davvero buone.

Lovely place to eat , me and my partner went here for the first night of our stay after just geting to our hotel we went straight here as it was just across the road from our hotel , the staff were lovely very welcoming and helpful and just lovely , we ofcourse had the famous Alfredo which me and my partner loved as we are cheese and pasta people it was to die for , we loved it , we had bread given to us with oils and salt and vinger first time trying that and it was so yummy 😋 xx we watched our lovely waiter mix our pasta and it was very entertaining to watch xx the profiteroles were stunning also xx overall we had a lovely experience and would go back 😀 xx they even helped me put my coat back on which was very gentlemanly I felt treated amazing thank you xx

Went for lunch on Friday (reservation is recommended). Their pasta dishes were perfect. You must try the original fettuccine alfredo pasta. They had a special pasta with white mushroom and white sauce, and was the best pasta I’ve ever had. Don’t miss out the potato alforno. Service was great. I’ll definitely come back again.

American review; as an avid "Alfredo" lover this place was amazing. My wife got the signature Alfredo and I got the ravioli, both were worth returning for. Per the story we heard this was the original place to make Alfredo and it tasted like it was! Recommend this for anybody who wants to try Alfredo, despite being in Italy. 😬

We came here to try some authentic Alfredo and the experience definitely didn’t disappoint! The place is beautifully decorated and they have a small, but nicely arranged menu. They seem to not only specialize in pastas done in Alfredo sauce and style, but also fish and steak. We saw several of their huge steak come out and be finished tableside on a sizzling plate. Their traditional Alfredo pasta also comes out to be finished tableside, which is very nicely done. The flavors were so very good and there’s plenty in a single dish to share, thus allowing you to try more items. They have a decent wine and cocktail list and their service was pretty decent too. I’d definitely recommend a visit for dinner, but make sure to make a reservation, they are quite popular.

Clearly very popular with locals (always a good sign). Really nice terrace at the side (don’t be put off if it’s empty at the front as you come in). Upmarket Roman restaurant in a good central location. The pistachio pasta was delicious and my wife loved the grouper ravioli

Dining at Il Vero Alfredo was an absolute treat! The pasta was outstanding, especially the classic Alfredo and the pistachio pasta, which were both full of flavor and perfectly prepared. The service was equally impressive: the staff were friendly, attentive, and made us feel genuinely welcome. A fantastic experience overall, I’d highly recommend it to anyone visiting Rome!

A very delicious place! The famous Alfredo pasta is 100000 out of 10! I want more! We also tried the chicken from the menu for two, and it was very tender and juicy! Bel locale, servizio puntuale, famose le tagliatelle all' Alfredo ( buone, ma non adatte a chi non ama il formaggio, sono essenzialmente tagliatelle al formaggio), posto da visitare sicuramente. Ottimo il panettone.

Finalmente sono riuscito ad andare a provare questo ristorante storico di Roma! Devo dire che ero molto restio a farlo per la paura che con il tempo si fosse trasformato in una trappola per turisti. Invece la prima sorpresa è stata la presenza di molte famiglie romane sedute a pasteggiare in allegria. Partiamo subito dal piatto forte: le fettuccine all’Alfredo sono una piccola opera d’arte. Mantecate alla perfezione (e al momento) e dal gusto equilibrato, la porzione vola via nonostante il burro e l’abbondante parmigiano. Buono anche il carciofo alle 4 cotture un piatto divertente per assaporare l’utilizzo di questo ingrediente nella cucina romana . Eccellente il dolce (nel caso di specie creme caramel). Il locale datato rispecchia il fasto dell’epoca. Ma è giusto che rimanga cosi ad immortalare quel momento storico permettendoci un salto nel passato. Il servizio è cordiale ed attento. Forse il rapporto prezzo qualità è un po’ troppo sbilanciato e questo mi fa levare una stella anche se riconosco che è necessario coprire i costi di un locale ampio e di un personale numeroso. Ci tornerei. Assolutamente si.

When in rome... you must try the original fettuccine alfredo pasta. I had never tried it before and even though it's just a derivative of a cheese sauce with cream, it was very well made and tasty. After half the dish though, i had enough as it started to taste a bit plain so i added some pepper and could finish with no problem. I also tried the cocco, ananas and gianduja dessert and it was very light and refreshing but also sweet. My friend also ate the tiramisu and she said it tasted amazing.

AS GOOD AS EVER! if you haven't made an early reservation dont go there. The restaurant is always fully booked and rightly so. We enjoyed oue antipasti and off course our traditional Alfredo!

Ristorante tipico, con arredo tradizionale arricchito da foto di importanti personaggi dei tempi che furono. L’atmosfera è decisamente turistica, ma la qualità del cibo e degli ingredienti è ottima: piatti cucinati molto bene e con poco sale (cosa che ho particolarmente apprezzato). Cameriere gentile e attento, servizio curato senza essere invadente. La serata è stata allietata da musica dal vivo, davvero piacevole. In sei abbiamo assaggiato i carciofi alla romana, le famose tagliatelle Alfredo, le tagliatelle al ragù (per chi non ama il formaggio), il polpo — ottimo anche se un po’ scarso nella quantità — e i dolci della casa. Tra questi, una torta con fragoline di bosco, che purtroppo conteneva alchermes (ingrediente che personalmente non amo e che è ormai poco usato in cucina moderna, ma qui si rimane fedeli alla tradizione). Ottimo invece il tiramisù, finalmente preparato con uova fresche e non con basi industriali. Molto buono anche il passito di Pantelleria, anche se 10€ per un bicchierino mi è sembrato eccessivo. Nota dolente il conto: circa 40€ a testa, il doppio di quanto spendiamo solitamente in famiglia. Bagni puliti, ma senza chiavi: mi chiedo come possa regolarsi chi si trova da solo. Esperienza positiva, ma personalmente non credo che la ripeterò.

The Alfredo Fettucine are the most delicious, the fanciest and the most overpriced mac and cheese you'll ever eat. We also had the chicken, which was not bad but was definitely not spicy at all, despite what the waiter promised us. The staff members were not very polite either (rude answers, looking the other way while talking to us...). So overall, we didn't have a very good experience. Not sure I recommend it. At least, there's a picture of Stallone on the wall 🤷🏻‍♂️

Honestly, it was a shock. Despite all the praise and recommendations we had heard about the restaurant, it was nowhere near the level we expected. The food was very average—if not bland. The biggest disappointment was the fettuccine; even small local restaurants prepare it much better than what we had here. In addition, one of the staff members seemed to be in a rush and did not wait for me to finish my question. She responded in a curt manner, said she did not speak English, and walked away quickly before I could finish my sentence

Alfredo was amazing and using high quality ingredients; however, the service seemed to guilt trip me into not getting drinks or a dessert. Then I noticed a €4 coperto and a €5 service fee on top of it. I’m not sure if that’s the norm or they were upset I didn’t spend more money. Either way I know charging both is not the norm in Italy. Be careful.

Il cibo era eccellente, ma il servizio è zero. Non ho mai visto un atteggiamento così maleducato neanche vicino a Termini. Il ragazzo di Palermo continua a essere sgarbato e a ricordarci che è istruito e sa meglio di noi come servire i piatti. Tutto questo sembra davvero ridicolo. Se volete preservare la vostra autenticità e la grande storia del fondatore, per favore, fate attenzione a chi lavora con i vostri ospiti

Una sala ristorante caratteristica e tappezzata da foto di famosi avventori degli anni che furono. Menù assolutamente turistico. Abbiamo preso una discreta bottiglia di vino toscano da 70€, due piattini dei loro frittini pluri dozzinali che abbiamo preferito lasciare dopo averli assaggiati, del pan carré tostato con una ciotolina di burro ed una scatoletta di alici del Cantarbico, abbiamo poi scelto, naturalmente, le “famose” fettuccine del vero Alfredo, un normalissimo piatto di pasta burro e parmiggiano, servite per la verità in modo pittoresco dal simpatico cameriere. Per concludere in dolcezza, dopo aver chiesto di elencarci i dolci, abbiam scelto in una lista classica e poco invitante, 3 tiramisù, poiché che ci avevano garantito esser fatti da loro, in realtà era il classico dozzinale e “finto tiramisù”, una rivisitazione di un tiramisù fatto con una crema che nulla ha a che vedere con il mascarpone, servito in un bicchiere. Nulla da dire sul conto 268€ in 4 per quanto sopra elencato Camerieri attenti e simpatici, abbiam scelto di dedicare a loro una piccola top di 15€ Complimenti all’azienda per aver creato questa onda di risonanza su un attività di ristorazione che probabilmente avrà visto anni migliori, dal punto di vista della cucina non del profitto. Non è uno stile che apprezziamo ne un ristorante in cui ritornare.

Esperienza pessima da Alfredo a Roma. Siamo rimasti profondamente delusi dal trattamento ricevuto da un cameriere filippino, pelato, che ha dimostrato *estrema maleducazione, arroganza e – a nostro parere – un atteggiamento discriminatorio. A tutti gli altri clienti la famosa mantecatura della pasta veniva eseguita direttamente accanto al loro tavolo , come parte dello spettacolo che il locale è noto per offrire. A noi invece, questo cameriere è venuto con *tono seccato e maleducato* a dirci di *alzarsi* e *spostarsi in un'altra zona del ristorante* per vedere lo spettacolo. Davanti a tutti. Un’umiliazione gratuita e immotivata. Alla nostra richiesta di spiegazioni, ha risposto con *arroganza* e *superiorità*, e mentre eseguiva la mantecatura *rideva di gusto*, come se fosse divertito dallo sgarbo appena fatto. *Un atteggiamento inaccettabile*, che ci ha fatti sentire presi in giro e trattati con disprezzo. Feel like they wanted to be exclusive which I understand but so many empty tables outside and inside, why not just let people try your food. Deeply disappointed. DO NOT TRY to come.

Do not eat here, lacked flavor & Authenticity. If your looking for GOOD Italian food go to Osteria Da Fortunata, Hostaria Romana or Mariuccia. Reviews continue to drop here for a reason. Had an absolutely terrible experience. Been to Rome plenty of times & came here to experience the Alfredo. From the moment I was greeted.. ZERO customer service. I let an older couple go in front of me to be courteous & they were sat right away without being asked if they had a reservation, however I was asked & was told it will be an hour. I actually chuckled, I told the gentleman why he didn’t ask the couple before… all of a sudden he had table available in “10 mins” Food was terrible, service at the table was even atrocious…. Told I can’t share food or my coke. I post videos and help bring business to restaurants. When they realize I was with a social media influencer that rates restaurants, their whole demeanor change, and they became very apologetic. Felt some discomfort & discrimination. If you’re looking for good Italian food please check out the first restaurants don’t go here. Save yourself the time & money
