Masto è un posto accogliente dove abbiamo mangiato benissimo e ci siamo sentiti accolti. Abbiamo mangiato i loro gnocchi artigianali, bevuto un buon vino locale, e abbiamo ricevuto un omaggio (causa ordine errato). La proprietaria del locale, Rita, è stata anche così gentile per i suoi consigli sui posti da visitare nel quartiere. Consiglio tantissimo questo posto!

Bellissimo ed accogliente, è un locale ideale per aperitivo o cene con menù tipico romano. Ottimi i prodotti del tagliere, come sono ottimi i secondi(abbiamo preso il pollo con carciofi e i saltimbocca). E la vera chicca è la carta dei vini, ottima scelta e ottimi vini. It would be in anyone’s best interest to try this place out. Cute cozy atmosphere, it was an intimate dining experience. Momo was our server tonight, and he was a fantastic server, both friendly and helpful. He gave me great suggestions, and the kitchen that sent out delicious samples along the meal. All of the food was fantastic quality, served fresh and from notable regions in Italy. One of the best dining experiences I’ve had the pleasure of having. Check them out!

Masto is an absolutely fantastic experience. If you are looking for a great evening, this is it. We visited October 29. The restaurant is very cozy and has a large protected area outside to relax and enjoy the Roman night. My wife and I started the evening with a 'selection of cheese and cold cuts'. Rita brought us the board, explained the delicious, creamy cheeses and local cold cuts, and explained in what order we should enjoy them. It was wonderful! The next course was pasta - homemade lasagna carciofi (artichoke lasagna) and ravioli burro e salvia. All cooked perfectly al dente, all just perfect sizes. The wine was fantastic, service impeccable and a night my wife and I will remember for a very long time. Thank you Rita for a wonderful evening!

One of my top, non-touristy, restaurants to eat at in Rome! Great menu, huge selection of wines, small but delicious list of spirits, and so much more. The food was delicious and prepared with care, the wine recommendation was spot on, and they even did an impromptu tasting of olive oils (and chocolates for dessert). Both Eyaso and Momo went above and beyond in their service and I highly recommend stopping by whenever you're in Rome!

Probably the best restaurant in Rome that we’ve visited. Rita is a super friendly and hospitable hostess, and the other servers were great as well. We had the cold cuts of meats and cheese to start and then the carbonara and cacio e pepe gnocchi. Even when one of us made a mistake and ordered the wrong secondi, they had no problem with this and quickly changed our meal. 10/10 service!

We were looking for a place for a quick snack and this place ended up being our best meal in Rome. Service was very quick, super nice and attentive (Eyasu - you were great!), and the food was incredible. Great wine, meat and cheese. The Veal Tail was a must try. It’s more off the beaten path, but if you have the time, take the walk (or a car) here and spend an hour or two. It will be well worth it.

I originally planned to visit a nearby restaurant that’s a bit Instagram-famous, but they were fully booked. On a recommendation from the waiter at that spot, I wandered around the corner to this place—and I’m so glad I did! The atmosphere had great vibes and a lovely outdoor area. My server, Momo (apologies if I got the name wrong), was fantastic. I trusted his recommendations for every course, and he absolutely delivered—he suggested some of the best local wine I’ve ever tasted! I started with a meat and cheese selection, followed by cacio e pepe gnocchi, and finished with tiramisu. I don’t have photos of the second half of the meal because the lovely Momo kindly charged my phone for me as it was out of battery. He even brought out some special local chocolate with a pairing that was absolutely delightful. This place is incredible. Don’t sleep on it!

We spent our last night in Rome here at Masto and it was the best memories that we are taking from Italy! The service is fast and excellent with the owner Rita personally coming to meet the customers and recommending dishes. We wanted to sit outside as it was hot inside but there were no seating available, but she made the staff set up extra tables outside to accommodate our wishes!!! Coming to the food and drinks, they were gourmet level, excellent quality and taste. The service is warm and the ambience lovely. Just the place for a romantic date or a dinner with friends at a reasonable price . Definitely recommended.

This was my favorite meal I had on my trip to Rome! You can tell Rita really cared about each and every customer as well as the quality of the food they serve. She explained what each dish was and where the ingredients came from - every single dish tasted fresh and delicious. The atmosphere is very relaxed and there is plenty of time between courses so the meal doesn’t feel rushed. Overall, an amazing night and I will be recommending to any of my friends that visit Rome!

Such a lovely little spot! We accidentally came across this restaurant for aperitivo since all the bar/restaurant near Testaccio were closed before 19:30. We shared parmigiana and ordered a glass of wine. They were very considerate to split parmigiana into 2. Staff are super friendly, and parmigiana was one of the best I had in Rome. I would definitely come back to try more dishes.

Ambiente caldo e molto caratteristico, masto é all’apparenza una cantina salumeria con bancone, ma in realtà é un luogo dove cenare e chiacchierare con amici con un ottimo sottofondo musicale. Atmosfera rilassata e molto cordiale, l’unica nota, dovrebbe aumentare e migliorare la carta dei vini, molto ristretta e a mio avviso non adatta all’immagine del locale. Ottima la carta del dopocena.

Masto in sè ha un pò il fascino dell’enoteca , quell’aria di convivialità tipica delle cantine, dove poter bere un buon bicchiere di vino e mangiare salumi e formaggi di qualità. Bella la parete con i vini a vista da una parte e il bancone con i salumi e formaggi dall’altra. Rispetto a tempo addietro, il menù è stato molto ampliato. Il locale è piccolo e raccolto, le sedute in effetti sono un po’ scomode. Buona la qualità dei salumi e formaggi, un po’ meno il cucinato.

Hanno un’ampia scelta di vini e preparano i piatti con prodotti di qualità. Curato anche l’ambiente interno, chic, con il contro di avere tavolini abbastanza stretti. Più da adulti che da bambini.

The staff was super helpful and friendly! Gnocchi were a bit on the salty side for me but fine for my partner. Lasagna though was super great! The restaurant adds to the bill for the bread and water but if they take it as a tip, works for me, since the service was great;) The vibe inside is also very nice and pleasant, very low-key but fancy at the same time

Siamo stati a mangiare in quattro la sera del 31 Ottobre. Ho proposto io questo posto attratta dal gran numero di recensioni positive oltretutto era su The Fork ma non ho potuto prenotarmi tramite l'app. Sinceramente sarà perché sono romana e un po' attratta da altri tipi di cucina ma questo posto non mi ha fatta impazzire... La scelta poi di proporre i primi piatti tradizionali solo in versione gnocchi è molto discutibile. Io li ho privati alla carbonara e sinceramente mi sono sembrati poco plausibilmente realizzati a mano per la consistenza e il piatto decisamente troppo salato. Ho apprezzato maggiormente gli involtini. I prezzi sono piuttosto alti e la location davvero insignificante. Oltretutto all'esterno sulla pedana in bilico siamo stati tutt'altro che comodi...

Locale carino e personale nel complesso gentile. Nella sala interna faceva davvero caldo ma l'aria condizionata non è stata accesa se non quando ce ne siamo andati. La cucina purtroppo è risultata deludente: ingredienti di qualità discutibile, gnocchi alla matriciana con un guanciale poco convincente (da supermercato e veramente troppo cotto) e polpette con cicoria ripassata praticamente senza sapore. Inoltre i prezzi sono piuttosto elevati rispetto a quanto offerto. Meglio orientarsi altrove: in zona ci sono sicuramente alternative più valide.
