I love this shop, the girls are really helpful with all the advice you need and I have always received professional and helpful advice. I think their prices are good and you can get just about everything you need for cake making. I can't wait to attend some of their classes.

I went to Latorta to buy all of the decorations for my daughter’s birthday cake. They had everything I needed, from mermaid sprinkles to cake tins and egg albumen! Very happy and will continue coming back for all my cake needs.

I enjoyed a school holiday course with my daughter. The lesson was great, very tailored and everything was provided. The teacher was very friendly too. We had a great time learning loads of new tricks.

I ordered a sugar icing print for a cake the week before my sons birthday. The quality of the print was amazing. I phoned to make sure it would arrive in time and the staff were very helpful. Sent it via express post for me. Highly recommend this company for edible images.

Latorta came to my rescue by printing me an edible image strait away on the day after I scratched my first one. Edible images are pretty good quality, printed well and pretty easy to order 😄.

Always a wonderful customer service experience here. Friendly staff who are also very knowledgeable. I once sent my (very stressed) husband to La Torta purchase some muffin cases/patty pans for me. The assistant who helped him put him completely at ease. He has never stopped raving about what a helpful experience he had here! We both highly recommend La Torta.

I've been shopping at Latorta for years now, ever since they were based in Majura Park. Every time I shop there they are so friendly, so welcoming and helpful. I highly recommend coming here for all your cake and cookie decorating needs, their range is fantastic.

Every time I visit La Torta I am consistently helped by the wonderful and knowledgeable team. For years I’ve had the best customer experience where no ten questions is too hard for them. The effort and time they put in to solving your complex cake queries is also a delight. I’ve had super kind Boz help me with a 40th birthday cake I was making and she helped me in store and over the phone without ever rushing me and taking the time to help. I’m so impressed with this business and love their new store!

This is one of those dangerous stores. If you're a baker, then you absolutely need to pick and choose when you go in here, since you could leave a few hundred dollars poorer and not even mind! They have almost everything here - cookie cutters, silicone molds in a huge variety of shapes and sizes, LorAnn flavours, sprinkles, display items... it's glorious to browse and see what's new. And since the move to Fyshwick, they have classes too! I haven't done a class yet but they all looks like a ton of fun. All the staff I've interacted with are friendly, and there are items here you won't find other places in Canberra. Definitely bookmark this one.

I have been to La Torta a few times for different things and always received exceptional customer service. Since having children, I have decided to try my hand in cake decoration for their birthdays and I’m in no way a professional but not only did I get all the things I needed today, the lady who was helping me gave me tips, tricks and advice on perfecting my little boys minion cake. Not one question I had felt like a hassle and I left feeling equipped to take on the big task at hand! The new shop is absolutely beautiful and I can’t wait to return for the next cake venture!

We ordered an edible image cake topper for a cake for a work event. Excellent service and turn around with clear instructions on how to assemble. Lots of parking at the front of Latorta and around the Fyshwyk markets. I picked up the image just as a kids class was finishing - looked like lots of fun.

I absolutely love shopping here! Every time I visit I find something fun to buy for my baking adventures. The staff are absolutely wonderful and so helpful in providing professional advice. I loved the cupcake decorating class I did here and can't wait to do another course soon. It was so great and hands on and I learnt so much! There is simply no other store like it in the ACT and I can't recommend it more highly.

Great baking supplies. I am a big fan of Loranne natural oil flavourings and they are hard to find, but Latorta has them! If you bake or decorate a cake the colouring here are great, it takes a whole bottle of the grocery store stuff and still has no colour, these a little dab will work. Such a difference. I was hoping for a decorating class over school holidays for my granddaughter, but unfortunately they aren't doing it this year.....maybe this summer.

I went in over weekend for the first time with a project to make my brother's wedding cake - having never done tiered cakes or using fondant these ladies went above expectations to give me guidance and get me fully equipped (despite the fact that I must have been there for an hour or two whilst it was busy!) - I had a lot of fun developing ideas and walked out feeling a lot more confident to take on this project. After having seen their range I jumped on to the online store which is easy to navigate to get some additional baking and decorative equipment... I couldn't help myself... and the order was on my doorstep the next morning along with a text to notify me despite living over hour away! I couldn't be happier with the service from Latorta and their team, I'll definitely be back! :)

I make a weekly visit to Latorta to purchase all of my cake decorating supplies. I love shopping at Latorta as the staff are extremely helpful, always willing to listen to any questions I have and always provide great advice. The range of supplies and brands is excellent and I always walk away a happy customer.

Best service ever! Needed help with an edible image and Jasmina and Sue were super helpful with adjusting the size and quality of my images before printing them. Best cake store in Canberra in my opinion 😊

Great store. Bricks and mortar places are usually more expensive than online, but after hours of research I found their prices comparable to what I could get from the web. Excellent advice and support which you can't get when buying online.

Most staff were wonderful and super helpful. We did recieve mixed directions regarding the application of cake stickers which made it very difficult. But over all service and quality was great.

I have ordered printed icing and bought a number of cake decorating items there. Good store but the sales staff could be a bit more attentive. Good selection of products.

Good cake decorating store but somethings are overpriced

I’d rather do 2.5 stars, but can’t. HOWEVER, we had a printed edible image icing sheet made (5 inch) and it really was terrific!! However, we also ordered a small sponge cake (which was lopsided and frozen!!!) and when asked if they also ice the cakes (would’ve happily paid extra) a slightly ‘sharp’ lady said, “No!!” So, we bought our own icing and attempted the task ourselves. Wouldn’t sting so bad weren’t it for the fact that it was a 5 inch cake AND we paid over $70 (yes, you read correctly). For me? For future reference either get a professional to do the whole shebang OR have La Torta do the image, THEN give it to professional to build the cake.

I cannot believe this shop does not stock pure icing sugar.

NEVER go here again I attended the store, to spend at least $200, after about 25 minutes of trying to find things, i left the store. The staff were too busy talking about what they were doing and what they had been doing to even acknowledge that I was in the store (and I walked past them a number of times). That is not how you treat your customers!!!!

I must not fit the demographic, completely snubbed by the staff, walking into a completely empty store. When asking about a product was told no, there was no smaller amounts of the said item, was told what is on the shelves is what they had, when asking if there would be a resupply I was told no. No assistance given from the staff for an alternative. The response i was given by the staff was very short and curt. The two older ladies working the store decided it was best to keep their conversation going. I put the items I had in my hands back on the shelves and decided to take my money elsewhere.

The first time I went to LaTorta i was specifically in need of good white chocolate for cake pops. The employee insisted on a particular type of chocolate that was not callebaut. I purchased the chocolate thinking great this employee did me a favor and saved me money, but when i got home the chocolate was not suitable for cake pops at all and I had to buy callebaut anyways.The second time I used the advice of an employee was for lustre dust. The dust itself works but after I did a lot of "online education" I realized they should've sold me rose spirit to help, which in the end would've made them more money and me feel the employees were actually knowledgeable about their craft. Slowly, I've listened to the employees and have been unimpressed. The prices are extremely high compared to what you can buy online, INCLUDING SHIPPING COSTS. The other day my irritation with the store came to a head when they refused to return a couple items. I was told that you weren't allowed to return the items, however about a month ago I successfully returned something else without issue. Inevitably, I will have to purchase from the store again because of emergencies but I'm not very happy about it... Disappointed.

Refused to refund an item bought minutes before. Point to your refund policy on the wall all you want. How about decent customer service? _______________________________________________________________________ [Update:] Okay I was pretty angry when I wrote the review. But owner's equally snippy response has deterred me from ever coming back. All of the big retailers will provide a refund with a valid receipt for change of mind. I think none of the staff can remember because I was served by the owner.
