Walking by the restaurant we were guided in by the pleased patrons, scent of seared sausages, and outdoor seating. Ordering food and beverages is easy at the front counter, and the selection of beers is impressive. Only one IPA on tap (but it’s a German restaurant, right!?) but I loved how they serve German pilsners in appropriate glassware. The food came out quickly, and the curbside seating was perfect for a late dinner. One consideration is that the music from the Golden Bear overwhelms the atmosphere of the Biergarten, so make sure you’re going to want to listen to the live music played there after 9pm.

Very cool laid-back local vibe with hot eats and cold beers. We loved the pretzel, apple strudel and cinnamon stegie waffle. My husband loved his schnitzel. I enjoyed the cucumber salad, sauerkraut on my white sausage platter. Will definitely have to return.

River Road Retail

It was an enjoyable experience, I tried the Jager schnitzel with sour kraut and German potato salad and had a stein of the hefeweizen and also, I enjoyed the pretzel with beer cheese and two different types of mustard. The pretzel was really hot; the beer was really tasty; and the food was very enjoyable.

Just down in the alphabet streets near Der Biergarten kicking things around like they were mine, when this Karen gal and her girlyman Ken approached me with one of those little lipstick pepper sprayers and told me I wasn't welcome on this block because my ball cap had a US flag on it! Well...I unzipped my jacket to get my phone so I could get a picture of these ninnies, and Big Bang just happened to reveal itself, and that put the fear of God in them, and gave me ample time to get to Der Biergarten for one of their world famous hot dogs! They're truly Amazing! 5 ☆☆☆☆☆

amazing little outdoor beer garden with a large selection of beers on tap and authentic german bites! they have bags, jenga, a ping pong table, cool water misters and even bowls for your dog! staff is super friendly and service is fast. highly recommend.

What a lovely spot to have in town. Reminds me of my trip to Munich, and was as close as you can get to the Biergarten’s in Germany. They have nice beer selection, and the curry wurst were really good. For $13 for 2 sausages plus fries, it really hits the spot. This place is not trying to be anything its not, which is what makes it so great. It’s just an authentic experience, fun outdoor space, beer served in traditional glasses, strongly recommend stopping here while bar hopping.

This place is great! I highly recommend a pretzel and any type of beer. Tried a few different types of beer and no complaints, just depends on your mood. The Mac and cheese is also pretty tasty. There is corn hole and ping pong table to play while enjoying the atmosphere and some beer. I highly recommend!

I didn't have any food, but that's not why I stopped in. There are a ton of fresh beers served cold and fast. The outdoor seating is welcoming and reminiscent of Oktoberfest! Great location too!

Nice place with only outdoor seating. The authenticity was pretty good. The beer was massive.

Have been here a few times with friends and will definitely keep coming back. Great lowkey spot to hang out and have some drinks outdoors. A good amount of seating considering how busy it gets, they have some games like hack sack, heaters for when it’s cold and shade covers for when it’s hot or drizzling. The staff have always been nice and friendly when I’ve been. They answer questions about the drinks on tap and will give samples so you can get a drink you like. The food is also tasty, I’ve had the pretzel and garlic fries. The garlic fries are a must! Their pomegranate cider is my favorite currently but I’ll be trying more from their extensive menu. Super nice Biergarten in a really convenient area, right in midtown near a bunch of other food and drink spots and small shops.

EDIT: Went back. Paulaner hefeweizen again. I got the pickle plate ($3.75). It was 2 Klausen dill spears, 2 small gerkhins and a flat layer of warm sauerkraut. Counter service. Paulaner on tap (yay!) and friendly service. Two pints of beer $19.02 before tip. Food looks decent, but you have to be hungry. The portions look big. I like the breezy open air beer garden! I wish they had sturdy wooden benches though. One dude at my table (shared by maybe 12 people) was shaking his leg and the whole table wobbled non-stop. Then every time a person got up or sat down, the whole bench could feel it. Drove me nuts.

Came here on a weekend and place was packed with folks celebrating St. Patrick’s. Food is nothing like what I tasted in Germany. Bland schnitzel and flavorless German potato salad. Flammkuchen wasn’t authentic. They have different beers; folks might like those more.
