the girl working the drive thru on 5/26/24 at around 12:45 has great customer service skills. it’s hard to come by that. the food was really good as well. came from north highlands because none of the other locations come close to this one.

One of my favs! Chicken street corn salad! So flavorful and love the addition of the peppita seeds. This location is clean and the staff is friendly! They finally got me to say yes to the chips and guac lol

It's been a while, over 10 years since I last visited any El Pollo Loco. The reason I had stopped visited was I felt the white meat chicken was dry. I was pleasantly surprised to find that the white meat was juicier and tender than I remembered. Also, the mexican rice was very good.

I live 2 minutes from another El Pollo Loco but prefer to drive up to 40 minutes through heavy traffic to get food at this location. Updating my review after reading some of the negative comments. There aren't any drunk homeless people here, the parking lot is always clean and welcoming. I frequently order on the app as well as in person. When I order with the app my food is always ready before the completion time. Not sure why so many people having a bad day take it out on this location but they are always friendly when someone comes in irritated and talking rudely to them. Sometimes it takes a moment before they can take my order, that is not to be taken as they are ignoring me. On the contrary, it is because they are popular and incredibly busy most of the time. The guy in the review with the "rice" burrito, looks like he opened it and then re-rolled it with just rice... some people smh... I hate how today's society loves to leverage bad reviews for free food. I don't do a lot of reviews because I feel it should be warranted, quality over quantity, and this place deserves the kudos for putting up with some of the worst and most rude customers I have ever seen. I used to work in customer service and have mad respect for people who do, never again for me because of how terrible people treat those in the industry.

What the space

Their food is excellent. The service was great. They asked if you need anything they're excellent I really like this place. I prefer them over Taco Bell that's my new place of choice since I moved to Sacramento

Not the best experience and not the worst (El Pollo Loco] experience. The beans tasted a little burned. The Chicken Avocado Burrito is always a little on the small size. Typically if you are wanting more the Birria Burrito is a good choice. Health wise the Double Chicken Tostada Salad is almost always the same location to location *See other reviews. If you are not too hungry the Original Pollo Bowl gives you just enough for a very reasonable price. The most recent Pollo Bowl, which I purchased at another location (2 days ago) with chips and drink was only $6.xx. Pros -Nice fast service -Hard working crew -Almost always the same quality location to location

Always fresh and delicious. My personal go to is the chicken tostada salad. Super consistent, which I love because I can count on good food every time. Staff is always friendly and service is great. One time I went through the drive-thru and they were out of lettuce. I was kind of dumbfounded not knowing what to say because I really wanted it, haha. The staff member noticed my pause and politely suggested to substitute with spinach or cabbage or both, which for some reason never even dawned on me. Thanks to the recommendation I still thoroughly enjoyed my chicken tostada salad. Edit-8-18-21 Last couple times was not so great. Burnt chicken and almost no Avocado Sauce, both times. Hopefully it was a fluke.

Chips and guac. The guac was fresh and tasty but chips were half a serving today. I paid $4.30.

The location on Folsom is garbage. The chicken is dry just about every time I went there and there portions for the price is ridiculous. Every other location I've gone to rocks over this one. This food in the picture was $14.12. I have small hands to give you an idea of how small it is. Also NO napkins in the bag...

Honestly I love pollo loco and go there often but this was a joke I even paid extra for two breast on the 3 piece meal and what I got was not appetizing. Not going back to this location again.

Half a chicken, 2 sides. The driest chicken I've ever eaten, twice... first time shame on you second time shame on me. Sides so tiny and only 2 tortillas for 2 people meal.

Chicken (drumstick, thigh) was dry, cooked too long. Chicken breast in salad more dry, like saw dust. may have been chopped up hours before service to the customer. Suggest not leaving Chicken on the grill longer than required to cook it.

It really sucks when you drop $35 on food and half of the order's completely wrong. Ordered a chicken avocado taco ended up getting dark meat street tacos. Ordered a chicken burrito and it ended up getting a small rice and bean burrito. Tried calling but nobody picks up and I live 20 minutes away due to traffic and don't want to waste my time going back there so if you're reading this please reach out to me. I would greatly appreciate an opportunity to swing by and pick up what I paid for. We're all struggling out here and I was really looking forward to this meal. Thank you

This location was a joke. Wife has order chicken nacho from other El Pollo Loco but we never been disappointed. 1.Chip was sloggy from the liquid. 2. Churro barely had any coating. 3. The extra chip we got had like 5 pieces in the bag. 4. We order extra sour cream. Barely a tablespoon of in the container.

Today, after work I used the drive through at El Pollo Loco to order some chicken before heading home. I ordered 2 chicken breast and 1 chicken leg. The ordering was quick and easy. The cashier was nice and pleasant. When arrived home (I live in Natomas), I opened the my food and to my surprise there was only 2 pieces of chicken in my box. I check my receipt to make sure I was not mistaken, because I could have only ordered two pieces of chicken and on the receipt it shows that I was actually charged two chicken breast and 1 chicken leg. I should have checked my order before leaving the drive through window, but I had felt confident they would have my order correct given I only ordered 3 pieces of chicken. I was charged $1.59 extra and got no value for it.

Was picking up a DoorDash order. No one wanted to help because thought I was a CUSTOMER. 12:00pm check your cameras. She was laughing in the back like it was funny. The technician working had to physically go tell them to come to me. STOP GIVING THEM YOUR MONEY

The first time I got sick so I thought I would give it a second try. I did not get what I ordered, there was chicken on the floor by the fryer and a man sprayed pink stuff from a sprayer on an empty fryer while the mist went unto the chicken next to it.

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. Consistently they UNDERCOOK the food! I ask to have it well cooked, because literally the cheese isn't even melted and the food is cold, yet they still serve me uncooked tortilla and a handful of cold, uncooked cheese. I used to come here several times per week but after the last time I actually requested a refund AND NEVER GOT IT despite the manager pretending to do something to give me a refund. It's been almost two weeks, no refund even pending. Do not go here. The chicken has never been undercooked but often times it's questionable and nearly spoiled. Such a disappointment.

The service and attitude are beyond terrible. They mess up your order repeatedly. They take your order reluctantly and when you say this is not what I ordered, they start arguing with you! Shirtless people are hanging out there saying all kinds of obscenities around kids, when you complain to the manager, she just stares at you with an attitude, as if you are saying something strange. This is probably my last time going to this location and probably to El Pollo Loco in general.. Unbelievably disgusted.

Ordered online. Went to pick up my order, which, according to their website, I could only choose in-store. When I arrived, it was 9:08 pm. The doors were locked. I stood there outside the doors hoping someone would notice me. I see a girl look over at me and look away. It was obvious I was not going anywhere. There was a man at the counter they were serving. I kept checking my phone as to my order status. The website stated the store closes at 10pm. So, why were the doors locked? Finally, the gentleman customer inside came to the doors and they unlocked it for him to exit. I advised the girl who opened the door that had an online pickup order. She walked away leaving the door unlocked and I entered. I asked, did you receive my order? No response. A couple minutes later, she came back to the counter and asked my name. I showed her the order confirmation on my phone. She walked away again without saying anything. Eventually, I got my food. I asked why the doors were locked if they closed at 10. She told me they close the dining area at 9. So, if you place an order you should know this. It doesn't matter if the website only let's you choose in-store or not. Go to the drive thru so they can't ignore you. Of course, they'll still be rude and display no manners or courtesy, but that goes without saying for pretty much every El Pollo loco Employee I have ever encountered. I give exception to the California Ave location in Bakersfield, because some of them are super nice there. Good luck.
