Wonderful food and service, the waiter was very patient and helpful and had excellent English. The only think I can say is that the meat is cooked to medium so if you'd like it we'll done make sure to say.

Beautiful coffee founded in 1905, the oldest establishment of Salamanca. And, since its foundation, success has been there. The novelty is the meeting point of men of letters and artists of the city. Its large terrace on the Plaza Mayor is an emblematic place where to stop for a coffee in the city of Castille-et-León. On the menu, we feast on the essential chocolate churros at breakfast, croquetas (very good) and other tapas at aperitif time or more consistent specialties like the veal of Salamanca with asparagus.

Great cafe/restaurant on the main square. Dog friendly so I could bring my dog in and have breakfast. The waiter was very kind and spoke good English as my Spanish is terrible. Very enjoyable food and atmosphere, highly recommended

Lived in Salamanca for a month, and my friends and I stopped here at least a dozen times. We were obsessed with every flavor. They even had dairy/sugar free options for those who need it. The workers were beyond sweet and helped us practice our Spanish as we ordered and talked with them. 12/10 experience and a must try if you travel to/live in Spain :)

Helados del Novelty was the best ice cream shop around the Plaza Mayor. Lines would be long each evening but the wait was worth it. All house-made and very tasty.

Bonita cafetería en el corazón de la Plaza Mayor de Salamanca,lugar repleto de historía, acompañado por unos de sus mejor y asiduo cliente más ilustre, G. Torrente Ballester, en su rincón favorito del salón, cafetería en la que puedes tomarte una buena tarta con un buen café servido por personal agradable y profesional,en el que el tiempo parece que se para aunque sea por un rato,tomar un respiro y seguir pateando la ciudad.

Fuimos por recomendación a desayunar. Nos atendieron rápido pese a estar casi lleno dentro. Los precios un poco inflados, pero entra dentro de lo normal en sitios así, en plena Plaza Mayor. El local es bonito y se ve cuidado.

Fuimos un día de semana y no había mucho ambiente por lo que en la terraza había varias mesas libres, nos tomamos unos helados y unas granizadas, la verdad es que todo estaba bueno, el servicio un poco lento pues no había mucha gente, no me imagino un día de agosto con todas las mesas a tope, y el precio un poco caro, pero es lo que hay si quieres disfrutar un poco de un sitio tan emblemático y bonito.

Café clásico, de ambiente bohemio y rústica decoración. Trato correcto y servicio muy rápido y eficaz. Precios acordes a este tipo de establecimientos.

An amazing cafe in the centre of salamanca. The early 1900's atmosphere was really nice. The food was great, we ordered the "special breakfast," which was great. The tea was really nice and the bathroom was not very clean. There was also a cute statue. It was also very pet friendly. The service was quite slow though.

The Chocolate Caliente was cold as were the Churros that weren’t even sprinkled with sugar. The only thing that saved te meal was that the beer was good.

We enjoyed a Tasty chicken Caesar salad outdoors. 5 stars for the salad, 3 stars for the waiter. I do recommend this dish/place when in the mood for a lighter dinner on a beautiful square.

Aún sin probar el café puedo decir que no es digno de pagar 3€, lo pago por la ubicación. Pero el café mejorable. El servicio en terraza. Bien y la ubicación perfecta.

El lugar en verdad al ser tan emblemático llama la atención y te sientes agusto, justo en la plaza mayor mejor sitio imposible. Los camareros pueden mejorar bastante para ser un sitio así deberían ser más agradables parece que te están haciendo un favor por hacerte un café cosa que me hace mogollón de gracia verles amargados así no entiendo por qué jajajajajajaja El café podía estar mejor y más uno que me costó 3,5 euros pero bueno.

Nice place on plaza mayor. Cappuccino: The coffee was over expressed and the milk was over steamed. The staff was pleasant and the atmosphere was lively. If the food and drink were better this place would be awesome. I wouldn’t go out of my way but if you’re on the plaza it is nice.

A welcome stop for a hot drink on a cold day. Pretty much as expected for a major tourist location. The service was very good, the coffee hot but not great and the price was a reflection of the location not the offer. This could be fantastic but is adequate.

Nos sentamos a tomar unas rondas de cerveza y el primer camarero que era mayor nos atendió bien, la ronda posterior se pidió a un camarero más joven, el cual nos respondió con soberbia haciendo alusiones a que allí trabajaba él y no nosotros, cuando queríamos dar una opinión de mejora. Posteriormente trajo mal la comanda olvidándose cosas.. Por otro lado, estando en la misma mesa nos cobraron las rondas por separado, y cuando pregunté que si podía ser todo junto porque no entendía que hubiera dos cuentas estando en la misma mesa del mismo bar se cobrase dos veces, el camarero joven me respondió con formas agresivas.. Y para colmo, revisando la cuenta posteriormente veo que los precios son diferentes en las cuentas pidiendo lo mismo.. Aunque el enclave es espectacular como la plaza mayor, recomiendo valorar otros establecimientos que estén en la plaza

La comida es muy buena pero el servicio es pésimo. Los meseros te atienden de mal humor. Les hablas para agregar algo a la orden y se tardan un montón en acercarse a la mesa. Me tuve que levantar de mi mesa para pedirles lo que necesitaba. Si esperas buen trato al gente, aquí no lo encuentras.

Bastante caro para lo que es, por muy emblemático que sea el sitio, y muy céntrico, si el producto es mediocre y la atención similar, no compensa. Más con vistas a la cocina y viendo todo... Los camareros nada amables, los café sin destacar y una tarta de manzana hiper cara que solo tenía de manzana la rodaja de arriba... Eso sí, el local es bonito, lástima de los precios.

Estuvimos el sábado 6 de diciembre y pedimos unas tapas y raciones. Hubo una que, sin solicitarlo antes de empezar a consumirla, nos la retiraron porque no estaba en condiciones. Las demás fuimos nosotros los que tuvimos que dejarlas ante la pésima calidad de las mismas. Por poner un ejemplo. Las revolconas con torreznos eran una plasta seca y los trozos de torrezno imposibles de masticar ( suerte que las volví a probar en otro restaurante y estaban deliciosas). Y los calamares de pena. Deberían respetar un poco más al cliente y al lugar emblemático en el que están.

Do not eat here, The ice cream service is the worst, they are very disrespectful after they are told not to mix the scoop in all the different ice ice cream, even the nuts flavors with the other ones.

Avoid this place at all costs if you don’t want to start your day on a bad note. The service was nonexistent. The people there ignored us when we came in and sat at a table. We are a family of 3. After waiting for 10mins, my husband tried talking to the person waiting the tables and the person behind the counter and both of them avoided eye contact with him and flat out ignored him. He’s a fluent Spanish speaker, so there wasn’t a language barrier. We were obviously not wanted there so we left. We thoroughly enjoyed Salamanca and this was our one bad experience there.

Came with my 83 year old grandpa, bought ice creams and sat outside (as you can see in the pic loads of empty tables) and was told by staff that we had to leave as their ice cream was only for take away and we could only stay if we bought more food. Ice cream is average. Very bad experience and customer service.
