Opinions de Fresh Salads San Agustín
Absolutely delicious! We had a 7:30 reservation but arrived early (6:45). The host mentioned we might have to wait, which was fine. After grabbing a drink, we noticed empty outdoor tables and asked to sit outside. Thankfully, they seated us right away by the water — it was beautiful! Once seated, everything was perfect. Our server, Rene (from PR), was great and made excellent suggestions. We had oysters Rockefeller and calamari to start — both delicious. I had the seared tuna (amazing portion and flavor), my husband had fried shrimp and oysters (also generous and tasty), and my sister-in-law loved her dish too. The kids’ menu was great, drinks were great as well. Watching the sunset made it even better. We’ll definitely be back! .
What didn’t I love about this place. Quick seating by hostess and then incredible service by “Eddie” (I called him Captain Eddie). Great personable guy, great recommendations and when we changed something on fly, he made sure it was right. We were just passing through St Augustine and without hanging out too long, gave us couple of super recommendations of things to do. Hope to be back next time. By the way, this was recommended to us by locals just south in Palm Coast.
I honestly can't say enough good things about this place. The food was absolutely incredible. Everything we ordered from the fried green tomatoes to the shrimp and grits was absolutely fantastic. Our waitress was so awesome and did absolutely everything to make our meal the best. We will 1000% be back again.
The oysters were fresh and arrived promptly despite the restaurant being full with large parties. My husband had the seafood linguine and really enjoyed it, it had a good amount of seafood. I had blackened scallops, grits and collard greens; the scallops were probably the best I have ever had and I really liked the creamy grits. The restaurant was a little loud but we were seated in the middle. I would return again and recommend!
Delicious food & great service! The waitress was so attentive and the meal was lovely. Quality crafted cocktails and a really nice menu. I was able to try caviar for the first time too! Definitely will be back again and I highly recommend! Recommended items: Drinks: Hot Mama & Cucumber Basil Gimlet. Apps: Grilled Octopus + White Bean Salad & The Bump. Meal: Iron Skillet Fried Brook Trout & Shrimp & Andouille Gumbo.
Above and beyond! Thank you Peter and team for excellent service all-around. Your cocktails are smooth and tasty. Descriptions of the menu sincere, and we were psyched about your respect for Chef. The staff swims around like a happy school, and this retired GM was thrilled to feel that happy energy. The food was excellent. Fries in bone marrow?!!! The salad app is indeed a monster! Fresh out the oven Pups are bangin'! There are no photos to post when you're IN the moment, so you'll have to go treat yo self. 😉 We were fortunate to walk in and find a 4-top in the bar available so I can't speak for the dining room experience. But the hostess in the too-short shorts said you need reservations. Git here!
Great place to eat. Food was very good and fresh. Had gator bites for an appetizer very fresh and tender. It feels good to eat the gators again....(GO DAWGS). Our server was Alli C. She hit the mark. Very personable and knowledgeable on the menu and specials. Can't go wrong eating here. We will be back.
We have been coming to St Augustine for 6 years. We had never been here before, partly due to its unusual name. I thought that it was far out of town when it is actually a short walk from the touristic center. The meals we had were outstanding, I think the best we have had here. We ate outside, because the acoustics and noise level inside were awful. They need to fix that. Otherwise my high recommendation
Great food, location, and Rene (? Sorry if i spelled it wrong) was quite helpful and spot on with his recommendations. Husband doesn't like seafood, I love it. He suggested the pork chop and it was delicious. Husband did try the gator and actually liked it too! Must visit! The beautiful view helped too 😍
Every single item was flavorful and perfect. And a HUGE THANK YOU to this restaurant for providing gluten free items that go well beyond the usual. I had fried calamari at a restaurant for the first time in a decade. They even have dedicated fryers. Simon was an excellent server and was very attentive. The low boil for 2 could have easily been for 3 with their generous portions. The shrimp avocado had the best Asian dressing I've ever had. This is our new favorite restaurant in St. Augustine!
The BEST. I found this place on Google Maps and was very pleased with the find. We didn't have any appetizers on this visit Since we really wanted the dessert. We both had the Three Choice Fried Combo. Shrimp, Fish (Cod), and Deviled Crab and my husband passed on the shrimp and had the Oysters. Everything was breaded beautifully and fried perfect. The fries were a nice generous cut and fried great as well. The Cole Slaw was a bit watery for me but was really good with great flavor. I asked for a small side bowl of Butter Beans and was so glad I did. They were delicious with a good flavor and nice pieces of bacon throughout. We each had dessert, I chose the Reese's Peanut Butter Pie and hubby chose the Praline Cheesecake. When the cheesecake came out it looked odd and we were quickly told they ran out and switched to the Margarita Cheesecake, basically a mild version of Key Lime. Both were really good. Our server/bartender was really great and helped us with our beer choices and was super nice. Really enjoyed our time and are going back Tonite.
Just in town for a couple of days and stumbled upon this gem before going on a sunset cruise. This place was AMAZING! The food was absolutely delicious. Cooked to perfection and the flavors were perfect!!! I had the spicy seafood linguine minus the spicy and my boyfriend had the pork chop. Both were so, so good! Our server was so wonderful too! 10 out of 10 highly recommended! Just be sure to make a reservation before you go!!!
One of the best restaurants in St Augustine! Highly recommend a reservation or you will be waiting an hour or more for a table. Not a ton of parking but thry have free valet which is great (remember to tip!) Everything is fresh and a nice relaxed atmosphere on the water. They had tons of specials including some appetizers we tried: Mahi mahi bites Fried crab claws Chilled jumbo shrimp with specialty sauce The shrimp and grits was fabulous and a great portion. I could have drank an entire bowl of the white wine sauce they put on it. You can get almost any fish you want on a sandwich and they do not skimp on portions. Wedges that came as a side, phenomenal! Reasonable pricing for fresh fish, grest service, lovely atmosphere, and a fantastic drink menu! I recommend the red sangria, goes down very smooth.
Amazing dinner! We weren’t able to make a reservation ( this was a last minute decision) but if you want a table definitely make a reservation. We were able to get two seats at the bar otherwise it would have been a 45 minute wait. The bar tender was our server and he was as awesome, making a lot of drinks and still giving us great service. We had the Broiled Platter and the Shrimp and Grits, a cup of the all day soup. Everything was excellent. The portions were good sized, quality and reasonably priced. The restaurant was really busy but still very clean, the restrooms were also very clean. They have a very small parking but offer complimentary valet parking. Very good experience and we look forward to returning.
Great find. The food was off the charts good. I had the Roast Grouper Filet. Perfectly done with the best goat cheese grits I have ever tasted. There is some smoked flavor (most likely from the pieces of smoked ham in the succotash). We found this place on GF - App for gluten free- for my wife. We shared GF calamari- they use a separate fryer. Tender and delicious sauce. She had the Shrimp and Grits. Only restaurant to ever make grits better than mine! But wait - dessert was GF Midnight Mousse Cake and it was the finishing touch on a perfect meal. We sat outside and it was quiet but if you like more “energy” the inside was hopping. Our waiter was Nick. Knowledgeable and knew the menu down to little details. He was fantastic. This is a must go place!
This place was very good! Our server was fantastic. We got appetizers of fried green tomatoes and it was delicious 😋 I got a beer battered cod filet sandwich & crispy fries. This was delicious as well. My food was hot & fresh. My friend got the peel & eat shrimp which was large shrimp and delicious. I would highly recommend this restaurant if you are in St Augustine.
Excellent restaurant. Server and kitchen very familiar with Celiac and was clear about what could be made GF and safely from the menu. Very familiar with cross- contact and about not using the shared fryer. Fantastic broiled fish dish, felt fine afterward. Separate fryer that they were able to do calamari and clams in. Gluten eaters were happy too. Service was fantastic as well as the ambience (ate outside by the water with a sunset).
This place has everything seafood and beyond I had the fried trout and clam chowder, I am from New england and this chowder was the best I have had outside of where I grew up!!! Service was friendly and prompt also great suggestions on food choices. Let me just say the deviled egg sauce OMG!! Beautiful place to eat outside and watch a sunset as well A+++++
My wife and I went here for lunch. We had the fried gator tail and chowder, both good. My mahi sandwich was excellent. My wife ordered the fish tostada which was OK, nothing special. The Key Lime pie was a bit too sweet for my palate. Excellent location on the water and outside seating available. Nice atmosphere inside. Good service.
Super fresh fish. Everything was amazing. Our server was super friendly and knowledgeable. Fast service and great drinks. On of the beast meals we all have had dining out!
The seafood was melt in your mouth. Service was excellent!!! Thank you Paul!!! We had a wonderful time but highly recommend reservations. We lucked out on a couple spots at the bar but would have be 45 min to an hour wait otherwise. 100% plan to come again!
I absolutely love this restaurant. All the food that we had here was delicious. The seafood chowder special that they had was the best I’ve ever had. The fried green tomatoes, grouper bites and fries were all delicious as well as the tostada
Had a delicious dinner, great restaurant! It is best to book ahead,I reserved online a couple days ahead. Good value. Our server Vincent took good care of us. I asked if they had rolls, and there is a minimal charge, but good crusty rolls if you ask
St. Augustine Fish Camp is truly a gem that captures the essence of coastal dining! From the moment you step through the doors, you're greeted by a warm and inviting atmosphere that perfectly complements the stunning waterfront views. The menu is a seafood lover's dream, featuring a delightful array of fresh catches, expertly prepared to highlight their natural flavors. What truly sets this place apart, however, is the exceptional service. The staff is not just attentive; they radiate genuine passion for what they do. Our server was knowledgeable about the menu, providing fantastic recommendations that made our experience even more enjoyable. Their enthusiasm for the food and the local ingredients truly enhanced our meal. Every dish we tried was a masterpiece, from the perfectly grilled fish to the mouthwatering sides. The attention to detail in both presentation and taste is commendable. Plus, the cocktails are a must-try; they’re crafted with a mix of creativity and quality that elevates the entire dining experience. In short, St. Augustine Fish Camp is not just a place to eat; it’s an experience that leaves you feeling satisfied and eager to return. Whether you're a local or just visiting, this restaurant should be at the top of your list for a memorable meal paired with outstanding service. Highly recommend!
The Halibut on a butternut squash puree, and raspberry gastrique was mouth wateringly delicious. Pairs so well. The boil for 2 was amazing, hot, fresh and well seasoned. Scallops and shrimp were cooked perfect. The bread pudding and key lime pie were also great.
A must stop for us when we're in the area. Well thought out menu and excellent service from Paul. Started with sweet tea and a teeth numbing bourbon bliss cocktail. Followed by conch fritters, Mahi sandwich and shrimp & grits. All done perfectly. Do seek this gem out in the perfect waterfront location and linger.

This is one of the best seafood restaurants I have eaten at in Florida. From the moment you walk in. Friendly host, awesome waiter and the drinks and food were amazing. You definitely can tell that the seafood is fresh. Will definitely go back to this spot.

First time visit, new favorite! Not only would I have the same meal again .. I would have it tomorrow!! The cod with goat cheese, grits, bacon + corn flavors was SO good. Fish spread was excellent. And Ian our waiter was excellent also. Can't wait to visit again!
What a great relaxed place to watch the sun go down. Food (NY strip and roast Cod) was awesome. Our server, Randy was fantastic. They were playing a good selection of ‘80’s hits on the PA. Highly recommended.
Food and service was amazing. Prices were very reasonable for excellent quality food. Our meal was so good we went back for a second visit the next day trying different entrees that were equally as good.
The oysters were fresh and arrived promptly despite the restaurant being full with large parties. My husband had the seafood linguine and really enjoyed it, it had a good amount of seafood. Paige was our waitress and she did an amazing job. Very personable and happy. We ordered crab cakes, fried green tomatoes, clam strips, gator and the angus burger. The crab cakes were good but I did notice my friend threw away the second one that she took home. I didn't taste them. The fried green tomatoes needed some help. The breading fell off and the tomatoes were very hard in the center. I took a picture of what the plate looked like once the eating started. My husband and I shared the clam strips and gator. They were both very delicious but not a very big portion for the price. Our friend loved the angus burger. Was cooked perfectly. This is a very lovely restaurant and worth a visit. The drinks were spot on.
This is a busy place with limited parking. Arrive early for a seat unless you make a reservation. The Broiled Flounder with risotto and green beans was delicious! We also tried a dozen oysters on the half shell. They were James River and a little small. I washed down the oysters with a Bloody Mary and my wife had a Margarita. Both drinks were very good. Tip: If you walk in and no table is available, it's open seating at the bar. You can order any food items while enjoying a beverage. Enjoy!
Very inviting atmosphere. Family friendly! We were seated quickly and our waiter was very helpful in recommendations. The food quality was good for the price point. The salmon was to perfection. The crab legs were delicious! We would highly recommend and will be back to enjoy the delicious food!
Overall, was a great experience. Definitely will go there again and recommend for a quick stop with great meal and nice dock and water views. Also, great staff workers and atmosphere. No music blaring in your ears! You can actually eat and have great conversations and family bonding time! Pros: -Valet exists due to small parking area, but is free, so only complimentary tip needed -Great location and backyard is amazing with dock view and outdoor private seating area, so a great space to wait while awaiting your seats -Food was filling -Waitress and staff were great! -The wait time was not bad before getting a table since we walked in. -Kids requested to go box and to go drink cups and it was handled well and promptly. -Great Atmosphere -If you have AMEX, this location is part of Resy network, so you get the quarterly benefits. -Food was well done and fried well. Cant complain at all. Cons/Improvements: -Kids thought the packets in front desk was mint candy but found out it was light matches . They were disappointed ..haha. Please have some mint or candy for kids - The small things that help elevate an experience. I know right? -Wait time after ordering was quite a bit. Kids already almost finished their drinks before food arrived. Was over a 30 min wait after the order. However, we understand if many orders being tackled so thanks regardless -Some prices were a bit steep like the $23 for the fish and chips which I think could easily be $15 or $20 at most, but thats not much of a biggie at all -It will be great to have more fries options than the wedge if possible.
Absolutely worth it for the atmosphere. Sit outside by the waterfront if you can. The service and overall vibe are great. Definitely try the dozen oysters, fresh and delicious. The octopus salad was great too. Of the two mains we ordered, the fish and grits was excellent. The boiled seafood platter didn’t work for me though, not well seasoned and a bit bland. Do I regret it? Not at all. The experience alone made it worth it.
Nice place. Good food. Worth a stop. Not sure if I can say it will be one of our go to places when we visit St. Augustine but it was nice to try. The shrimp and grits were good. Not the best I’ve ever had, but tasty. My husband had fish and chips and the portion was very large and very tasty with a great crisp in the fish. We also had the fish dip but wouldn’t get it again. It was ok, but lacked flavor and the crisp things with it, were not a good pairing. Over all, it’s a nice place. Nice atmosphere, friendly service.
My first time eating there. The hostess was nice and greated me. I was seated withing 2 minutes. The atmosphere was great. The waitress was nice and cheerful. She brought my drink quickly. I ordered salmon with potatoes and greens, a dozen oysters on the half shell, and a wedge salad with blue cheese. The salad was awesome. It was very fresh and crispy as it should be. The salmon was also delicious and very juicy. The potatoes and greens were also very good. Now the reason I only gave 4 stars. The oysters failed. As you can tell in the picture, they look mangled by the person who shucked them. They are not juicy. And the person who shucked them, theft them attached the the shell. I was really looking forward to some good oysters but that didnt happen. Other than the oysters which I dont recommend, everything was great. 😎
Be sure to make reservations to ensure you are able to dine here. Once you arrive and check in, you may be prompted to wait. There's a picnic table outside adjacent to the restaurant with wonderful waterfront views. The blackened mahi and grits were a great entree paring. A slight spice was noted with the mahi that added to the overall flavor. I ordered the potatoes as well and with a little hot sauce, were great. Enjoyable fresh fish restaurant with backcountry favorites.
Nice restaurant on the water. The food was pretty good. We had the conch fritters, fish dip and steamed oysters for starters. They all tasted good and were served promptly. For the entree I had the crab cakes and my husband had the tuna. The crab cakes were ok but my husband did not care for the tuna, it was a little to spicy for him. I tasted it and I liked it though. Our server was very nice but did not offer us any condiments for our meal or any refills for our drinks. I'm happy I tried it here but probably won't be back. The prices were good but just not what I was expecting for a fish camp.

We really enjoy St. Augustine Fish Camp and come here often because the food and service are consistently excellent. The seafood is always fresh, the dishes are well prepared, and the staff has always been friendly and attentive. It’s definitely one of our go-to spots in St. Augustine when we want a great meal. However, there is one ongoing issue that keeps happening every time we visit. Despite the dining room having many open tables, we are repeatedly told that only bar seating is available and are directed to the bar area. On multiple visits, we’ve sat at the bar while looking at a dining room full of empty tables for the entire duration of our meal. We understand that restaurants sometimes manage sections for staffing reasons, but when there are clearly plenty of open tables, it’s frustrating to be limited to bar seating. Not everyone prefers eating at the bar, especially when a comfortable table is available. We’ll continue coming back because the food and service are great, but we really hope the seating policy can be reconsidered so regular diners have the option to sit at open tables when they are available.
The food was very good BUT the portions were way too small! I got the 3 item combo of fish, shrimp & oysters. I got 4 shrimp, and what I would describe as a spoonful of leftover fish parts that must have fell off of someones filet of fish!

Alright, San Agustín foodies, I’ve got a spot for you that’s been buzzing with local praise, and for good reason. Nestled right on the water, this place — despite its unassuming name, Fresh Salads — is quickly becoming known for serving up some of the freshest, most delectable seafood around, all while keeping a healthy approach in mind. San Agustín's Seafood Secret Hiding Behind 'Fresh Salads'
You know, sometimes the best places are the ones that keep you guessing, and that’s certainly the case with a spot I recently checked out in our beloved San Agustín. Don't let the name Fresh Salads fool you; while I'm sure their greens are, well, fresh, what truly has folks talking is the incredible seafood coming out of their kitchen.Picture this: you're settling in, ideally outside by the waterfront if you can snag a table – it's a vibe, folks. The atmosphere is consistently praised, though
