28FEB26: After a couple hours at the packed zoo, we stopped here for dinner enroute to home. We've been to other conveyor belt sushi restaurants in other states, so we knew what to expect. Got there just before the dinner rush. We had a great experience, our waiter was attentive, the food was really good. I really liked all the smoked and seared sushi. The yakitori was spot on. Thank you.
My lady and I came here for happy hour, and it was exactly what we wanted. Alejandro was one of the best servers I've had in years! I've been managing restaurants for years, his pace and attentiveness was perfect. Food was excellent as well! My compliments to the Chefs. We'll be back soon!
Very friendly staff. I think it was the manager (tall man long hair lucky cat tattoo behind his ear) was incredible and made our night go smoothly. They even gave me a rose for Valentine’s Day after we paid our bill!
First time eating here with my family. Great music 🎶 in the background, food was delicious. Sashimi is so fresh and delicious 😋. The train had mini versions of rolls you can order off the menu but, they're a third of the size and price of rolls. Good fresh selection of rolls and desserts. I saw on the menu online, they had my favorite cold sake. I specifically picked this restaurant for that reason. Only when I asked our waiter for it, they didn't have any in stock. Still a great dining experience
My 2 kids and I came here for lunch on a Mon. Ez, our server was very informative and delightful! She checked in on us every 5 min or so and made sure our waters were filled up. Even the hostess was really kind, welcoming, and greeting us as we exited. The restrooms have a changing station and paper towels. The food is wayy better than the other chain revolving sushi restaurant! My son loved the wagyu and caramelized charred salmon sushi. My daughter enjoyed our unique, tasty, and flavorful lychee rainbow mocktail (stir it up before drinking) and tuna tataki. I enjoyed the ceviche carpaccio menu, desserts, and the caramelized salmon, too. The mango cheesecake is perfectly sweet with dices of mango! I wish I took more pics. There are dark brown red bean fried balls, not the sesame ones, and they had a super crispy but light shell...I tried to search the name online but must try unique dessert that's hard to find, even online! Edamame was cooked al dente. We wished we checked out this place sooner! It's definitely on our list to come back as a family of 5, as well as a place to bring guests, too. It looks like there are 2 bigger tables for parties up to 8 people. The rest can seat 4 with plenty of elbow room or 6 if smaller folks. The kids enjoyed the token for every 10 plates eaten. The tiny figurines aren't smaller kid-friendly but fun to get. There's a happy hour between 3-6pm Mon-Fri, not holidays. Looks decent with $3 every plate on the belt and some $7-10 dishes, as well as some $4 drinks. We definitely will check their happy hour sometime. I don't drink alcohol, but I'm going to peer pressure my spouse to get the Ube Pina colada next time! Our pork katsu arrived on a spaceship. The 3 of us (2 youngs teens) ate 21 plates, ordered 2 menu dishes, and a mocktail for about $150 after tips.
This place is sooo cool! They have a conveyor sushi belt with plenty of options. I got the chicken hibachi and it was delicious. My sister got a ramen and she loved it. We had plenty of leftovers. We also tried their Japanese cheesecakes… and oh my god 😍😍😍 the UBE one is SO good. Definitely recommend!
I love the concept of the revolving sushi bar, and im happy to have a few to visit here in San Antonio. The food here is nice and flavorful for the most part, but there are a few bland misses. The conveyer belt is consistently kept stocked with food during your visit, and there's a nice variety of things to try. I also absolutely love the trains they have to bring hot food out to guests. It's just so cool! Finally, the staff here is super attentive and kind, which makes the experience all the better!
I have never liked sushi before, but came here for my bf to try and for me to try a ramen or something else. This sushi was actually so good! I've been converted and the happy hour prices are a steal! The gyoza were amazing too and I love the cute little train that brings it. Staff was friendly and helpful for our first time here. I will definitely be back for more sushi and to try the cool drinks they offer.
I had a fantastic experience here. We dined for my birthday and the staff, especially our awesome server Tyo, made me feel so welcome and special. The inside is really beautiful too. The lights and wood accents really stands out. The sushi is great- and for how much you can eat per plate I would say it’s great value. I personally wouldn’t get plain sushi without any sauce but my favorite was the torched salmon with caramelized mayo nigiri. 10/10
We have been to Wild Gogi twice now... First time we were pleasantly surprised, the second time we fell in love! Both times we were greeted and sat right away and both times had service within a few minutes of being seated. All of the sushi has been super fresh, nothing has tasted old or fishy or unpleasant at all! The O'toro is so amazing I crave it now, and the Uni which is scary to me was so fresh and delicate! The 2nd time we had spicy seaweed salad and WOW! I thought i liked seaweed salad before but the spicy is a whole new level! The hot items have all been served hot, fresh, crunchy and just delicious! The staff has always been kind, courtious and very helpful! I don't have one negative thing to say about Gogi! We love that the restaurant is always clean and lively when we walk in and the prices are very fair in my opinion. The Tempura Cheesecake is one of the best things I've ever had in my life no lie! Hot and crunchy on the outside cool and creamy on the inside! Gogi is definitely our new revolving sushi place!
This was such a fun and tasty experience! We were seated quickly and given instructions. Alex was our waiter he had amazing customer service! The sushi belt had mostly everything we wanted we had to order a few separately and they came fast. Everything was fresh and delicious! I can’t wait to stop by again the next time I’m in San Antonio!
Updating my review since they relaunched as a revolving sushi bar. We came in the first day of the soft open and it was packed. The renovations look great and the food is still delicious. You can grab from the conveyor belt or order from a smaller menu. The tempura vegetables were delicious and everything I snagged off the conveyor belt was worth it.
If you never had sushi .... Try their happy hour plates are cheap. Gives you a chance to try different options and not break the bank. The rock& roll is one of my favorites on the belt. The food is always delicious be careful where they seat you . It takes the belt awhile to go around so what you want, might not be there the first or second go around.
This place is a lot of fun to visit, has a great happy hour, and the sushi was good. You come here for the experience, not necessarily the best sushi you have ever had. But the waitstaff was helpful and friendly and the robot train delivering the food was fun, as well as they conveyor belt sushi. Happy hour, all plates are under $3.
Wild goji has long been a family favorite. We have been going there for years for the homemade dumplings. Recently they completely renovated the restaurant and menu. It has gone from a traditional sit down restaurant where all the food is brought by wait staff to a conveyer belt, grab your own plates sushi restaurant. Overall it is still pretty good but I’ll be darned if they didn’t stop making the dumplings and removed all the Chinese food from the menu. The small plates is a great way to try a little bit of everything but it can get pricey pretty quickly. I would recommend giving it a try, the kids love grabbing their food off the conveyor belt and the train that bring la the ramen and other kitchen orders is fun. Not what it used to be but still worth a stop.
This was our first time here. It was a fun experience for my teenage boys. Our server was also the bartender and did a great job checking in on us. The quality of the sushi is expected for the price you pay. It's average or lower end on the pricing for sushi. We got a couple rolls, ramen, udon and a few other things and it was decent and fair priced. I'm saying this as a person that appreciates Japanese cuisine and has a family member that is a trained sushi chef on the west coast. Their sushi does need improvement / refinement, as far as their rolling techniques and further toasting of their Nori because their rolls did have tearing. It'd be nice if the nigiri was a little bit thicker, but like I said you're not paying a high amount. I appreciated that their cocktails and desserts were not too sugary, but tasty and flavorful. The karinto manju with red bean was delicious! I would come back just to try the other stuff and maybe happy hour for their other drinks. We just enjoyed our time out as a family
The concept of bring Japanese style eating to American dinning is fascinating. Service is standard, kind and friendly staff, although they should find a way to flag a server down, so expect to wait patiently for more that 9mins before servers checks in. Price of Belt plated items are fair but can easily rack up as the portion size is smaller starting at $2.95, $3.45, $4.25. Example Grabbed Tornado roll for $4.25 for 3 pieces so half a standard hand roll. I Ordered a off belt item Spicy Tuna for $7.95. The size of the hand rolls are smaller than other sushi houses ive eaten at. HEB sushi rolls are bigger than theirs with equivalent flavor. Flavors are fair ok.. they are not WOW but palatable. Seating arrangements are set up for group eating and solo eating.
Loved it! I will say though that it seemed like the variety for the Happy Hour was not there and that's why I gave it 4 Stars for Food. We still enjoyed our time and we thought this was a much better revolving sushi house than the other location in town. Will be back again! Update: went back again and was not satisfied with the lack of roll variety on the belt for what we paid. The food was good but the same rolls kept coming through. In my last comment I mentioned that we went during Happy Hour. It seems like that was the same experience in the evening which in my opinion should be different since you pay a bit more. That's a management issue, they tell them what goes out. Overall, I would probably go back for the experience, but I was a little bit disappointed. My guests from out of town were happy. It drops my stars to 3.
I’ve been a long-time supporter of this restaurant, coming here since before it was revolving sushi bar. The food has always been excellent, and I’ve consistently loved the service. Unfortunately, today’s experience fell far short of the usual standard. After being seated, it took 10 minutes before anyone even stopped by to ask if we’d been helped. That server was wonderful, as always, but it then took our assigned server an additional 15 minutes just to acknowledge us. She never came by to refill drinks — another server had to step in. Now we’ve been waiting 15 minutes just for our check. On top of that, I feel the restaurant could do more to ensure food areas remain clean and safe, especially when guests don’t control their children. Today, a child was repeatedly picking her nose, touching items on the conveyor belt, and even placing a dirty lid back on the shelf, where it got stuck. Plates also fell and jammed up because the child wasn’t following directions, yet the parent asked us the table behind her to fix the situation as if it wasn’t her child’s doing. I’ve always loved this place, which is why today was so disappointing. I truly hope management can address both the service inconsistency and the food safety concerns, so the experience can return to the high standard regulars like me have come to appreciate. Finally got our check, ate the 10 plates, did not receive the coin for eating the 10 plates. Seems small, but again, it is something we enjoy about this place.
I'm so shocked that this price is of this quality. There were a lot of seats, but I had to wait The fish quality is too low. It's so shocking and it's a pity that they're selling these foods. There's a better sushi bar elsewhere. It's good to have a lot of dessert menus, but this is a sushi restaurant. I don't want to eat sushi that's not fresh.
