I went there with my two friends, and we had a great time. We loved all food that we've ordered and also the service was fast and gentle. Super recommended!
Best sushi in the Bay Area! One of the most renown and longest business that has overseen the days of Alameda, Sushi House is know for the best sushi around town. Growing up, I would always come to sushi house with family or friends and even birthday events. My favorite to order here is the bento box known for its large size and various types of food that comes along with the box. You have two choices of teriyaki beef, chicken, or salmon along with California rolls. I also love to order separately the Lion King Rolls that tastes absolutely delicious with salmon around the sushi roll with rice, avocado, crab meat. I also recommend the raiders roll as well. I’ve been starting to learn how to eat raw, but hear from my family and friends that the raw sushi is superb. Highly recommend to everyone to come to sushi house!
Food always delicious. Service has definitely taken a hit and it's hella loud. But that's only because it is very much a family restaurant. Which is perfectly fine. I just need to pick better times. 😆
Went for lunch for a work function. Very accomdating for a larger party. The waiter was fast, efficient, and attentive. Had the Bento Box 2-item ($20), Saba & Chicken Katsu. Comes with white rice 🍚, miso 🍲, side 🥗 and a slice of honeydew. The portion was really generous, so you'd probably expect to bring home some leftovers. Great place for Japanese food!
Good sushi 🍣 but great view. Good for a first date or even a 100th. Spying recommend 👌.
Sushi House is BY FAR the best tasting and highest quality sushi I have had! The rice and fish are always fresh, I’ve never tasted anything stale or badly flavored. Their baking and frying is also always fresh, the veggie tempura is crisp and baked rolls cooked to perfection. I have regularly been coming here for over 15 YEARS and while service isn’t as good as the food - wait times to be seated and get food can be long, a dish may come too early or late or be forgotten (in 15 years this has happened just a few times), a waiter may come and offer drinks when someone else already did, minor stuff like that - the quality of the food has always made it worth overlooking minor service inconveniences. I think they gift new management a few years back and things have improved significantly. Service is better and overall efficiency is good. The cooks at the sushi bar are WONDERFUL! They are friendly and greet you with a smile, work carefully and diligently and are professional. The clean up crew is also wonderful, they pick up in a timely manner and work hard to make sure empty dishes don’t pile up too much. I think the new manager used to be a waiter, he was definitely one of the better waiters but now seems to be supervising the floor and checking up on customers. There was a waiter namedBob who I haven’t seen that was a great waiter too! Overall, I highly recommend to try Sushi House at least once if you haven’t had it before. Sadly, I have stopped going because prices are too high for me (I’ve stopped eating out in general), but I do recommend trying it at least once!
super friendly staff with a variety of food options, modifiable bentos and sushi rolls! absolutely must try place!
This restaurant is wonderful. The sushi is very fresh and the service was amazing. The staff was friendly.
The sushi from Sushi House is phenomenal and one of the most freshest joints I've been to in a long time. It's worth the money that you paid for it which is not out of the roof it's spot on clean environment exceptionally wonderful and personable staff wonderful customer service. The chefs do an amazing job. Just let them know exactly how you like your sushi and they can do it. One of my top places to go in the Bay Area.
IDK. The people that complain about this palace have never been there. There Door Dash or Uber Eats messed with the food. This place is outstanding! Period. That is all.
My parents took my toddler and I to lunch for sushi. We were expecting an AYCE style sushi bar, but this is not it. We chose to stay, ordered the Lion roll, the green mussels, the Raiders roll and the Samurai roll. We were blown away! The rolls were so huge we each only ate one. I ordered a kid’s meal for my son, and while it wasn’t a good fit for his age there was a good amount of food so we took it home. The prices were fair and the view was nice.
A really nice sushi restaurant located near the marina in Alameda. The sashimi and maki here are delicious and they have a very wide selection to choose from. I was very impressed with the size of the rolls, a simple vegetable roll here can be very filling. Two caveats for this place: i) expect a wait. This is a popular place and my partner and I waited about 25min for a 2 person table on a Friday night. ii) they are giving out soy sauce in packets. Idk if this is lingering COVID policy, but he sure to ask for more up front if you enjoy soy sauce. I would definitely recommend stopping by for some rolls, a carafe of hot sake, and some tasty miso.
Incredible location with an amazing view and equally incredible food. This was my fist time here and was meeting some friends for dinner. I was visiting from out of town, so I did not know what to expect. The restaurant is spacious with basic decor and for a Monday night, it was packed. The menu is huge and so are the portions. I ordered the dinner combo with sushi and sashimi. This dinner included rice, soup, salad, California roll and chef’s choice of sashimi and nigiri. Everything tasted very fresh. Overall, a great place for dinner with large portions at an extremely reasonable price. Service was also great! I will be sure to come here again the next time I’m in the area.
This is honestly the overall best sushi place I’ve ever been to in the Bay Area. Been a customer here for 7-8 years at this point and it’s been consistently great. It is unpretentious, the portions are huge, prices are reasonable, and fish is fresh. You can’t find better combination of quality and value anywhere else. I rarely write such a good review for a restaurant but it just dawned upon me today that almost every time we try a new sushi restaurant we will always compare it with sushi house and think “sushi house has way bigger and tastier rolls at a cheaper price”. Yet all these years I’ve never written a review here. So here we are. *Knocking on wood* Hope this place never changes.
Food was bomb, and staff is friendly. This was the first restaurant I've been to in over a year due to the pandemic, and I couldn't have been happier with my service. I got the Lion King Roll, and the Shrimp Tempura Roll, along with the a sake sampler. Everything was fresh, and on point. 10/10, would recommend.
This is a very good sushi restaurant. Because of that, there is usually a wait here. One time we arrived a little after 5:00 PM, so there were no waiting lines. We ordered sushi rolls (Webster and Marine Boy) and a seafood Udon bowl. The sushi rolls were great and each bite was huge. The Udon was really good too. We've had salads and other dishes too. This was probably my 4th visit and it's always a good experience. During lunch, there is a pretty good view of the coast.
Sushi that was with tempura was cold, not even luke warm. I've never had it cold except 4 leftovers & don't normally it them... ceviche yes! Waitresses service varied, the main was was a 5-star. Over all we made it out in 1 piece. I didn't like that it automatically charged a 20% for services we were a party of 7. We R normally informed.
We had dinner here on Friday evening. Walked in and got seated straight away. We had a booth with a nice view of the beach. Service was great. The young guy who served us recommended some items on the menu which we tried some of. The food was fresh, hot and full of flavour. The karaage chicken was very nice and so were the gyoza. Everyone enjoyed the miso. My daughter had the kids teriyaki chicken Bento which she enjoyed. It came with quite a large serve of chicken, rice, salad and tempura veggies as well as a miso. This is a fantastic sized kids meal. My wife had the soft shell crab sushi rolls and a salmon cone and she enjoyed it all very much. She said the salmon was nice and fresh This is my first time here and we will definitely be back, the food and the service were great
Sushi House never disappoints. The rolls are huge, well-made, and packed with fresh ingredients, so you definitely get your money’s worth. They have a great variety on the menu, from classic options to more creative combinations, all served with great presentation. The atmosphere is relaxed—perfect for a casual meal or even a laid-back date. The service is fast and friendly, always attentive without being intrusive. Sometimes there’s a bit of a wait to get a table, but it’s worth it. Whenever I want sushi that’s delicious, satisfying, and hassle-free, this is my go-to spot. I’ll definitely be back!
It’s our second time here.We came here with friends. Every staff member was quick and helpful. All orders came out quickly. We had smoky sal, udon, salmon teriyaki, tonkatsu and sushi .The salmon teriyaki was good and flavorful. The rolls are tasty. The portions of food are large.Loved the view of bay.Highly recommend this place!!!
Never even heard of this place before, friend of mine recommended we try it, wow this place is amazing. The food is so fresh, the portions are large, everything is tasty. I ordered chicken katsu and it was way more than I could eat in one sitting. Chicken katsu was cooked perfectly, the miso soup was amazing, and had a nice salad. My dinner guest had salmon which was cooked to perfection. Overall the whole experience was just off the hook incredible, I highly highly recommend this restaurant. The service was great food was great, will definitely go back when I'm in Alameda, in fact it's worth driving to Alameda just for this food and this restaurant.
Really nice place with good-quality Japanese cuisine. The rolls are really tasty and really big, you can get enough with just one set! The Seafood Udon that’s in broth is brought in a pot in which it was cooked, very authentic. Greatly recommend as a lunch or dinner place, the service is really good and the meals were brought pretty quickly.
The serving portions here are massive! Good value! I came here solo for lunch on a Sunday. The place was packed, and my wait was roughly 5 minutes. I got a veggie tempura appetizer portion with A LOT of different veggies and tofu - super worth it. I also got standard miso soup. And I got a samurai roll with sake instead of the tuna - which was HUGE and delicious. The service was so so today, maybe because they were pretty busy and seemed understaffed. My tempura came almost 10 minutes after my sushi arrived to my table. I'd come back here again for the good value!
Food was great. Service was terrible at best. First time visiting this establishment. The views of the bay are great. The servers seemed to be too busy walking in circles to check on tables or seat guests. Orange blossom and Oregon rolls were superb. Kitchen knocked it outta the park.
The restaurant was fabulous, the food was large and delicious, and the sake was cold. It loses a star, sadly, because of the service. It could have been where we were sitting, the rush hour of dinner, the restaurant being short-staffed, or any number of reasons. We had a difficult time placing orders, getting utensils and napkins, and even getting glasses for the bottles of sake we ordered. However! While this docks them a star today, I will be returning due to the food and atmosphere, in hopes for better attention from a server, any server. (All in all, I recommend this restaurant if you like any sushi. They have traditional nigiri and sashimi, as well as the non-traditional rolls we Americans love.)
Best sushi place in Alameda! Our favorite sushi place this far due to the reasonable prices and large portions received. Would definitely recommend. The service isn't the greatest; this is one of the places you go to for the food not the top-notch service. Gain one thing and lose another I guess.
5 stars for the food, 2 for the vibe—but I’ll split the difference. This place serves some of the most ridiculously good sushi I’ve had in ages. The fish is fresh, the rolls are inventive, and every bite is basically a mic drop. If you’re coming here for the food, you’re in for a treat. That said… don’t come here expecting warm service or friendly small talk. The waitstaff clearly missed the memo on customer engagement—or maybe they read it and set it on fire. You’ll get what you need, but with all the warmth of a DMV line. So yeah, go for the sushi. Bring a sense of humor, low expectations for hospitality, and maybe a little extra patience. The food is worth it.
First time here, definitely wont be my last. The service was fast and they checked in on us regularly, which I like. We were able to be seated right away despite the place being very crowded. Music plays in the background and there’s huge flatscreens that has the Lakers game on. The food was delicious and the portions were very consistent and big. The price isn’t too expensive, but definitely well worth the price.
The miso soup tasted like real miso soup. The ambiance is casual. You get a nice bay view as well, which goes perfectFood service is fair speed. Tenzaru udon was served cold. The flavor was slightly bland and the texture was mildly over cooked. The lion king, and blossom roll were good. The bento boxes had a large selection. The food in from the bento boxes were filling enough. I'd rate them as a B or B+. Would I eat here again? Probably
Great location! Footsteps from the beach and near good shopping. Went in on Thursday afternoon for lunch. Food was authentic and service was good.
One of my favorite places! Best is Green Mussels, Sunomono Combination, Prawn Tempura, California Roll, Marine Boy Roll. Also good is Salmon Teriyaki, but too much rice. Usually think Vegetable Tempura is very good, but this time they included 2 very large cubes of tofu. Tofu is not a vegetable and basically tasteless. Almost wanted to ask waitress to bring 2 real vegetables instead. Broccoli or carrots or green beans or squash, etc. NOT tofu!! Portions are large. Prices are on the high side. On the rolls, would like to be able to get a half order.
Yummy food, great quality fish for the sashimi and great portion size. It was a really busy Thursday dinner night there. Our server was very friendly. My order took longer because the order was changed and I didn't get it until everyone was done eating their food. I ended up eating bits and pieces of my family's food and took my food to go. I would come back but at a less busy time if I could or order take out.
The sushi is good but the pieces are too big. The customer service is lackluster, there is not enough attention to the customer. The baked sushi is great though.
Miso soup was good; nice size avocado roll that tasted fresh; reasonable prices; missing Gluten free soy sauce which is totally unexpected for a place this size and so busy. I ordered take out so no comment on the atmosphere.
Sushi House is very popular because the sushi rolls are very good, the value is better than most other restaurants and the restaurant is modern, the location is convenient and the parking is always easy. The service is sometimes good.and sometimes not good. It depends on who you get and if they are busy.
I had the pleasure of visiting Sushi House on a bustling Friday evening, and while there was a waiting list, it truly speaks to the popularity and demand for this delightful establishment. Although we patiently waited for approximately 30 minutes, I can confidently say that such a wait is a testament to the restaurant's exceptional offerings. I can imagine that the wait times are much shorter during the middle of the week, making it an ideal time to visit. Once we were finally seated, the attentive staff promptly took our order, ensuring a seamless dining experience. Our selection included three delectable sushi rolls: the Bay Scallop roll was an absolute masterpiece, as it delicately melted in my mouth, leaving an unforgettable impression. While the Chunky and Marine Boy rolls didn't quite reach the same level of perfection as the Bay Scallop, they were still enjoyable and exhibited the restaurant's commitment to quality. In addition to the sushi rolls, we also tried the seafood udon, which, although not the best I've ever had, was undeniably good. The flavors were satisfying, and it complemented the overall dining experience nicely. Moreover, the tasteful decor of the restaurant added an extra layer of ambiance, enhancing the atmosphere and making our visit truly memorable. As for the beverage mishap, I originally ordered a Diet Coke but was served a Coke Zero instead. Despite the minor mix-up, I didn't mind as the inviting ambiance and the anticipation of our flavorsome dishes overshadowed any inconveniences. The staff remained courteous throughout, further contributing to the enjoyable atmosphere. Overall, my experience at Sushi House was a delightful one. From the superb Bay Scallop roll to the pleasing seafood udon, each dish showcased the culinary expertise of the restaurant. Coupled with the charming decor and attentive service, it's evident that Sushi House is a hidden gem worth exploring. I eagerly anticipate my next visit, where I can relish in their culinary delights once again.
Great place and not super expensive for okay sushi. Same wonderful people running the place over many years. Service is always exceptional. Usually not too long of a wait time except on Fridays and weekends. Can get crowded and loud around lunch time and dinner but not overly crowded. Many large screens playing sports. Great sushi for anything cooked. Experienced many times in the past getting sick from raw items. Very kid friendly. Many options in the menu to choose from hard to choose just one roll. Recommend for simple rolls and combo plates for a good price.
What’s great is their portion size. Recommend: the bento box – Beef teriyaki had steak like quality and mackerel was moist and a large cut, shrimp tempura had so much batter that it tasted doughy chirashi - Nice thick cuts of sashimi. Appreciated the detail with the marinated mushrooms and Shiso leaves Ikura nigiri was ok, I would’ve expected more considering they charged $7 Nigiri. The seaweed was a little damp/ soft. Not high-quality seaweed and crispy. Not recommended: Spider roll was drenched in sauce and soggy. The rice was soggy. Japanese sushi rice should never ever be soggy! I could only eat one piece of it. I personally enjoy more authentic Japanese cuisine rather than Americanized, huge portions, rolls drenched with sauces.
The service was quite good, and the food was decent overall. However, if you’re looking for a truly authentic Japanese dining experience, this may not be the place. I ordered a $30 bento dinner, which came with tempura, soup, salad, and rice, along with a choice of two main items. I chose tuna sashimi and yakiniku, and the portions were very generous. That said, the flavors didn’t quite feel traditionally Japanese. The restaurant itself is fairly large, with plenty of seating and a pleasant atmosphere. We also ordered three different rolls, though I don’t remember their names. The rolls were enjoyable and tasted good, but the overall flavor profile leaned more toward a Japanese-American fusion rather than classic Japanese cuisine. Overall, it’s a comfortable place with good service and generous portions—nice for a casual meal, just not ideal if authenticity is what you’re seeking.
Was treated to dinner by church friends for my birthday. Haven't been here in a while. I almost forgot how hefty the servings are in this place. The ambiance and service were impeccable. Our food arrived in order fairly quickly. A testament to the efficiency of the staff in this place. The sushi and sashimi was fresh and the vibe and view from our table was pleasant. Although a bit pricey,¹¹¹ I was full to say the least, and the company was all quite happy that evening. We will definitely be returning to this place.
Came in last night 8/15/2023 at 6 PM and dined alone. There was about a 30 min wait. I ordered shrimp tempura, NY roll and crab salad. All very delicious. The service is always great. It can get noisy at times but I have earbuds for that. I easily found parking at the front door. The only thing is that I HATE gnats and when they outnumber the occupants, it's time for me to box my food and bounce. I have a phobia about bugs. But again, the food was the bomb, inexpensive and hot. 💯☮️
I've been coming here for at least several years by now. The food is always excellent. Service is usually pretty good. Lately, though, they seem to be understaffed, and they have a few snarky waiters/waitresses. This is within the last year to year and a half I've noticed. However, it's still one of my favorite sushi restaurants around!! It's busy Friday and Saturday evenings, so be prepared for a usually good lengthy waitlist. It goes by quickly though! The last time I went, I got the plate of sashimi and the Sushi House Yacht (both pictured) along with 2 Lion King rolls (not pictured). There were 5 of us and we got incredibly full and had a good amount of leftovers to take home. All in all, it's darn good sushi and I would definitely recommend this restaurant to sushi lovers all around!
Sushi was average, ordered a dinner plate tokatsu and is was re-heated, aful. We waited one hour to get only one person served, and I'd it wasn't because we questioned where our food was, we probably would have waited longer. Basically, they forgot to bring our food to our table. Place is expensive. I will not return. If you use online reservations, make sure to tell the host when you arrived. Or you will never get called.
Busy spot..food was good...servers can be a little bit more attentive too customers... We was at the outside bar ..and the table next too us kept wondering if the server was ever going too serve us?.. Check if we was ok or needed anything?.. But that didnt happen..not even a refill... Other than that..food was good..and a good sunset too end the night..
A local place for a long time. Value sushi. Decent choice for a large group. Worst Oyaka Don I’ve ever had. But it’s a sushi place, so my bad for ordering it.
Nice location with bay views. Sign yourself in on the tablet/wait list. Lots of parking. Long lines during busy times. Not sure why it was so busy or rated do highly on Google. This was the first time I ate a $100 meal at a restaurant and was given plastic spoons and forks for dining in. Sushi was not impressive. Ordered the sashimi dinner. Salad, white rice, soup and fish. Hamachi was not fresh, probably frozen and thawed few times. My son loved his kids plate tho. Great deal on that meal and tasted good.
We've been going to sushi house for 20 years, everything the food is great, never asked for a replacement even once on 20 years. Today however I ordered a katsu Bentonville box and sushi roll lion king for $38. I had to complain about the katsu, the katsu wasn't fresh and quite honestly bitter. The waitress wasn't to happy about the exchange gave me an attitude said that I was "on one" and pointedly asked me to leave the bad katsu in the box so that she could show the kitchen. I didn't hesitate bc I never planned to bring the katsu home, it wasn't fresh like made yesterday quality and to bitter even for my dog to eat. I found that the waitress was friendly at first and then quite rude. I still tipped none the less. I feel that I'm recieving retaliation from the waitress staff as she is her to complain about her perception of my bad attitude. Please don't work as wait staff if you can't handle adjustments to food that isn't good enough and needs to be sent back to the kitchen. It's not your customers fault the dish turned out poorly. Please don't take it out on my leftovers as that I only eat out every now an then. I expected good quality food for the price and quality customer service!!!!
I’m not sure why I was sat so close to the side door that people kept walking in and out letting in a cold breeze when there were plenty of chairs in between me and the next person at the sushi bar. But from the start of being greeted, then bumped into by the same waiter at the sushi bar And have to ask for things multiple times from the female waitress. I guess they set the tone right away. On a positive note the atmosphere is nice and the food is good.
This is the original sushi spot in Alameda. If you are a Bay Area native then you been here since high school. The food is still consistent, however the price has gone up. But still you are getting large portions and fresh fish quality, cooked food also still taste good. The service is usually hit or miss here. The servers here likes to take orders and thinking they will memorize everything but each time it never fails… they always forget one or two of our dishes. Let’s just write down or take down our orders, we know you get busy and missing orders makes customers wait longer and dissatisfied. Overall we had a satisfactory experience here. We were missing a couple items but the food is still consistent after all these years. You can put yourself on the waitlist via Yelp so it’s not too bad during busy hours. Went on a Saturday afternoon for a late lunch and was disappointed. The food was good but the service was lacking bad! We ordered 3 rolls, a hand roll and a bento box. The amount of tempura that came with the bento exceeded my expectations, and they all tasted freshly fried, and the teriyaki beef was good...I wish the teriyaki was stronger but beef was cooked well. The 3 rolls were plump and well made so no complaints there, and the handroll was good although kind of fell apart while eating. The service sucked though. Maybe we caught them between shifts but my tea was never refilled even though I asked twice, the water was refilled once after asking about 3 times, food took much longer than expected to come out , and it even took a while to get and pay for our check. Just frustrating because we couldn't even get a waiter to look our way half the time. Been coming here for years and will probably keep coming, but disappointed that their service seems to have gotten worse over the years.
First time out in the Oakland/Alameda area with my kids. They told me about the Sushi House and wanted to take me there tonight. We went. The interesting part was we put in the order for the appetizers and at the same time ordered the children's food to keep them happy. Their food and appetizers came out quick, but then, we had to get the attention of someone that could get the waitress over to take out order. The children plate was bigger than that of what we ordered, which blew my mind. Photos attached to see the children dinner as well as our rolls. The strange part is that things all came out at so different times that we were all eating at different times, I'll be honest that I've never seen sushi rolls that were cut so much thicker than I've ever had at what I would call a normal Japanese sushi roll. My son picked up the tab, so I didn't see the final bill, but the children order was at $18 each for theirs. I've had better sushi in the Midwest than what we had tonight. It was different for sure, but on the positive note, it was a very nice view of the bay while we sat in a spot where we could see the bay. That was a good part, but they need to work on the menu and presentation at the same time. [IMHO] California vs. Midwest Japanese food, Midwest wins. Just to note: the big bowl and box were the kids' meals, think how your 7yr is grandchild would see that...
Let me start with, I really enjoy the food at sushi house. I’ve only been eating here for the past two years, my partner, however grew up in Alameda and has been going to this restaurant since she was 15 years old she’s 40, and she loves it. Unfortunately, the service is getting two stars today. What happened? While doing some shopping at South Shore we ordered our normal order to go, shortly after I placed it over the phone my partner changed her mind and decided we would have time to eat there and she would prefer that. We rushed over and walked in 20 min early from the time we were told our food would be ready. I asked if we could sit down and eat the food there. There were plenty of tables since this was post the lunch rush, so I thought they could plate the dishes instead or at the least we could just use the table, order drinks and eat there. Apparently, this can’t/won’t happen. The host said no because they are”different”. When I asked for further understanding, there was nothing they could provide except no, they are different. This seems crazy as I was going to be buying more food and product by sitting down at a table. What’s the difference of eating it in the car vs. the table while making more money and the tables are empty? This seems like the host or staff simply didn’t want to do something they consider “extra work” so they simply said no. Lack of minor accommodations won’t get far in the service industry. Where’s the hospitality? I understand the policies and why in a busy time, you can’t make that accommodation. However the restaurant is empty and this isn’t an unreasonable request. With a little more hospitality and flexibility, this review would be very different. This is why I’m giving 2 stars for service.
I come here often because the food is good, but recently the service has been terrible. I made a request to replace a piece of sushi for another one and the waitress told me to read the menu again. It was very rude and patronizing.
I’ve been a frequent visitor to Sushi House. Their food is pretty good, though not great. The tables are spacious and comfortable, and the place is generally clean—though at times there’s an odd smell. Overall, it has been a decent spot for local residents. Unfortunately, our most recent visit was a disappointment. My wife and I ordered two bentos and asked for knives and forks to cut the fruit that came with them. After some delay, we were surprised to receive only one set, wrapped in a wrinkled paper napkin. When we requested another, the waitress looked surprised, as if we were expected to share. She eventually brought a second set, also wrapped in a wrinkled napkin. When I unwrapped it, however, the knife was stained—dirty. At that point, I completely lost my appetite. I couldn’t tell whether this was carelessness or a larger issue of hygiene, but either way it left a very bad impression. Sadly, this will likely be my last visit to Sushi House..
1/5 Stars – Total disappointment. We waited over 30 minutes in a loud, chaotic environment while the staff rushed around us. When the food finally arrived, the seaweed was soggy and the quality was just "okay." To top it off, my friend’s order never even showed up. We eventually gave up, paid for my meal at the front, and left. Definitely not worth the wait.
The WORST FISH QUALITY EVER! 🤢🤮 The fish was MUSHY and tasted like GARLIC. It was borderline spoiled. This fish texture and temperature were all wrong. The rice was overcooked and mushy, and wasn’t even seasoned properly. Even the shrimp tempura tasted stale. The inside of the batter was gummy, and the shrimp tasted hard and rubbery. So nasty. Sushi House used to be decent, but now it is atrociously disgusting. Don’t waste your money here.
The food was horrible. Cold and not good at all. Will never go back.
After visiting Sushi House on NYE, we decided to dine here on Valentines Day. Unfortunately, both the food and the service were terrible. The server never checked on us and our drinks were never refilled. Shortly after our food was served, we discovered the rolls were not as we ordered. The server argued with me about the accuracy of the dish before agreeing to fix the error. The replacement roll had zero crab, and the saddest pieces of salmon I've ever seen. This was a massive disappointment because we chose to eat here specifically for their Orange Blossom roll, which was excellent on previous occasions.
Having hard time to place a order, poor service. The lady server wbo serve our table pretend not seeing us when we NEED to order. We waved to her several times. We told her we're ready tk order when she serve drink. (the restaurant only half full at late lunch) at the end, I left with anger!!!
I have never experienced such terrible service before until I came to this place. It took a while for our server to approach us. We didnt get his name but the second he approached us, we immediately felt rushed. We ordered beers first and then he took even longer the second time to take our order, which when he took our order we still felt rushed so we tried to be considerate and quickly tell him our order. That was the last time we saw him. Appetizers came out first, we got Gyoza and Edamame 6/10. I ordered the “Hella Hot” roll and it was just absolutely terrible. I also asked for a side sauce and no one came back to drop it off. The roll kept falling apart and i found a piece of PLASTIC. I was disgusted and gave up on eating. At this point we got up and didnt even wait for the check then ended up paying up front. It’s definitely very fast casual dining. Overall everything from service to food was the worst experience I’ve ever received.
Went here for lunch, and was utterly disappointed, we got our first rolls and *found a piece of hair in it.* we sent the roll back and got the Bento right after. Skeptical, we decided to examine it to make sure there was no more hair, but to our shock, there was another piece of hair!! In addition to all of that, they forgot to bring us our drink even when the restaurant was half empty.
I’ve been coming to this place for years, but my last order (10/2/25) was very disappointing. I ordered two chicken teriyaki, two Caterpillar rolls, and two Oregon rolls. The chicken teriyaki and Oregon rolls were okay, but the Caterpillar rolls were inedible — the avocado tasted bad, almost expired. For a restaurant I’ve trusted for so long, this was really unacceptable. Sadly, the quality has gone downhill, and I’m not sure I’ll be coming back
So, I understand that it’s busy around lunch hour and we arrived at 12:55pm. Not too long of a wait even with a waitlist. Got seated with two of us at 1pm with menus. 20 minutes later at 1:20pm and the waiters haven’t even acknowledged us or offered at least water or even asked if we needed more time to look at the menu. I noticed two parties that arrived after us that got seated got their orders taken. It kind of felt like we were invisible. We wanted to try to place out but it didn’t seem like they were very welcoming. This is the only time I’ve walked out of a restaurant.
I went to a restaurant today that I used to absolutely love — but it was a total disaster. We ordered sashimi, and every slice was like a soggy sponge. No ocean taste, no fish oil, no flavor whatsoever. I was mortified in front of my Japanese friends. Never again will I set foot in that place. This plate $45 !!!
Food is above average, but I had to put one star because this hasn’t happened just one time on me. Every time I order bento to go, sauce cup is melted and the lid is open, today, it just spilled all over my shirt and jacket. Can you try to not put in with very hot tempura? It’s toxic too.
