Cute little cafe. We stopped here for a coffee break. We also had breakfast here. They had vegan options in the form of salads, burritos and sandwiches. We had a vegan burrito, egg white burrito and two rabbit’s food sandwiches. All of them tasted great and the portion sizes were huge. The salsa verde that came with the burritos was fantastic. Would highly recommend checking this place out if you’re in the area. The latte was good , but the mocha was a bit too sweet. Other than that, no major issues.
Cute spot in San Clemente with a nice selection of coffee, tea, and food items. Fun vibe with orange and black decor and funky furniture. Conveniently right off the freeway with a parking lot. Would definitely go back.
Reasonably priced food and options. I like this spot. First time in San Clemente, and this was a good spot to rest and eat.
Really, really cute coffee house with one of the best Mexican Mochas I've had in quite some time. The lady who helped us was super friendly and helpful - going out of her way to help us. They have a good variety of drink choices as well as baked goods and breakfast/brunch options to order. Their parking is a bit limited, but there is a Ralph's parking lot right next to them that we used without issue.
Really cool coffee and food spot! Convenient freeway stop off, good hours, easy parking, cake pops, good dripping coffee, fried bologna sando! Delicious and interesting with crispy fried onions too!, nice pesto pasta salad, fresh and light on a Summer day! And a wee lil honeybbee bagel just for fun! Drinkz, surfboard wax, dog friendly, highly recommend this spor along the coast
Such a cool little spot with great coffee and food. The tacos were amazing. Decor is a 10/10. I grew up in San Clemente and it's so cool coming back and seeing places like this. Lots of different seating and also great accessibility with a built in ramp.
Adorable place, friendly staff, great drinks and food. Egg white burrito was a light but tasty option.
Needed to get some work done and found this little place. Really cool atmosphere and good service as well. They have an option to use a ordering system instead of waiting 8n line to talk to one of the employees so if you are in a rush there's always that option. Really nice layout and they even have art for sell. Wifi is free for 2 hours with email address. This is a nice lay act place to have a drink and snack to meet up or get work done. Check it out if you get the chance
This is an institution in San Clemente and a must stop for your Morning coffee and breakfast if you are in the area. Lattes are a generous size and you will also find a nice selection of homemade muffins including gluten free options ( the lemon blueberry is delicious). Breakfast burritos are available all day. Wi-Fi is fast and free for 2 hours so you can also come and work from there. Parking is easy and shared with Ralphs and outside seating is also available. If you are in a rush, drive-thru is also an option.
While heading home, hubby and I needed a little pick-me-up before our drive. I Googled coffee cafés near our location, which was in San Clemente, and various places popped up. The one that caught my eye the most was Zebra Coffee House. I mean, the name itself is very intriguing and just made me curious. So we went for it! When we arrived, we noticed that they have a drive-thru; you know I love a good drive-thru. It’s very convenient, you don’t have to get out of the car, and it’s just easy peasy! It was already perfect! I When we went to the drive-thru, their menu is pretty interesting. It had different coffee options and other beverages that sounded really fun. Additionally, they offer healthy food choices which are kind of hard to get out of a drive-thru. We placed our order and I went with an avocado toast, and hubby went with a Hoagie. For drinks, he got his iced vanilla latte and for me, instead of getting a coffee, I decided to get this really fun drink called a lavender cloud. After we ordered, we were asked to pull up to the front to park which made sense because I know that those food items are gonna take a little while to prepare. We waited for maybe 10 minutes. My avo toast was really good and hubby's sandwich was really good. He also enjoyed his coffee. My drink had a unique taste to it. It wasn’t gross but it wasn’t good but it was still satisfying. That probably doesn’t make any sense but I did finish it and I’m glad I tried something new. if we’re ever back in San Clemente, I will definitely return and try some other unique drinks. Thank you zebra house coffee.
My go to breakfast spot when in San Clemente since i was a teenager! Coffee is pretty basic but great variety of food options, including vegan and vegetarian--get the vegan breakfast burrito. Dine in or take out/drive through makes it pretty quick, service is the best staff are helpful and kind. I love bringing out of towners here, captures the San Clemente vibe perfectly.
For breakfast or lunch, The food is so good and great variety for a coffee place. Drive thru, Comfy booth style seating and nice bathrooms makes this place a must go for anyone on the go or looking for a place to hang out. They even have self check out menu so you can really take your time to view all the options and get your meal or drink just right. I usually get the breakfast burrito with chorizo or the Turkey club sandwich. Today they were serving some tacos that i got a glimpse of and they looked amazing so i will have to try them next time
Glad we stumbled on this gem passing through San Clemente. Delicious tacos, cool vibe, and the VERY best service we could’ve hoped for. We tried all four of the taco Tuesday specials (chicken, fish, carnitas, and steak) - all were very good. Will definitely make a point to stop here again!
The taco is authentic and delicious. It's a repeat for sure! The ordering process could be improved. Our order was misplaced and people came after us by nearly 30 min got their food and that's when we noticed the not so normal wait. They did comp us with a side of Cherros, but I think a better ordering system should be in place for such a popular venue- benefit for all.
Tonight was the second time we’ve been here. We were so impressed with the service. Stephanie took our order the first time we visited and I meant to leave a review then, but life got in the way. So here I am, because we had a great experience tonight as well. I realize it’s counter service and I realize it might seem silly to point out their exceptional service, but in a world where everyone is doing the bare minimum, the staff at Sancho’s rises above. The average age of the employees we interacted with was probably 19 and they were courteous, friendly and helpful which isn’t the standard in most places these days. Thumbs up and kudos to Sancho’s tacos! Keep it up
Sancho’s Tacos is hands down one of the best taco spots I’ve ever been to! From the moment I walked in, the customer service was top-notch—friendly, welcoming, and genuinely passionate about their food. You can tell this place cares about creating a great experience. Now let’s talk food. The quality and flavor are on another level. Everything is fresh, perfectly seasoned, and bursting with flavor. The salsas alone are worth the trip—each one with its own personality. The Verde is bright and tangy, the Red brings the heat, the Cubbie has this incredible smoky depth, and the 5150… that one’s wild in the best way! The Cali Guey and Surf & Turf burritos? Absolute beasts. Packed with flavor, perfectly balanced, and filling without being heavy. The Founder Pounder is a must-try—bold, satisfying, and just plain delicious. And don’t sleep on the shrimp tacos—crispy, juicy, and loaded with flavor. If you're anywhere near Sancho’s, do yourself a favor and stop by. Highly recommend this place! Great vibes, amazing food, and service that makes you feel like family.
Sancho Tacos is a great laid back and unique spot for tacos or burritos. Iv stopped by a few times now after surfing. The fish and shrimp burrito (I customized it) by combining both then asked for fresh chopping Serrano peppers. It was decent portion size 10/10, and their habanero sauce was great addition 10/10. Very flavorful. The staff are welcoming and friendly 10/10. The atmosphere and setting is unique sitting high of PCH overlooking businesses onto the ocean with indoor and outdoor seating. Self order but they bring to your table. Casual with unique relaxing paintings, lighting and decor. 10/10. Highly recommend.
Without a doubt THE ABSOLUTE MOST memorable Mexican restaurant & small/local chain I’ve ever been to whenever outta town. Probably in general. I’d almost recommend the owners to strongly consider expansion in certain Mid-American markets. Not only because of their food & fairly original atmosphere/theme, but as an “insurance policy” in case Southern California gets more unbearable to operate within expense-wise...
Sancho’s Tacos is an awesome spot with great vibes and even better food. I had the tri-tip burrito, which you don’t usually see on most menus, and it was absolutely delicious. I added guacamole and fries to it, and it definitely did not disappoint. Super easy to access right off the 5 and just a quick hop to the beach. Perfect spot for a chill, satisfying meal!
A+ This place is awesome! The atmosphere is like old school tattoo cholo culture sprinkled with 18th century Mexico and a bit of Americana, then some crazy pirate type stuff just for fun. I got a CaliGuey Burrito and my 12 year old got a kid's bean and cheese burrito, which he always gets when we eat Mexican. We are both picky about our burritos (he hates Chipotle and Del Taco, and I hate Taco Bell). We both agreed these were the best burritos we've had in a long time. The whole dining experience, they were playing classic rock, and we were quizzing each other on the music as we gushed about how much fun we were having. Oh, and the salsa is 💣. Even my boy loved the Chubbie, and he isn't usually down with salsa unless it's Ricardo's or Miguel's Jr -- and he said he liked it better than both. This place rocks! We will definitely be a regular here. Super rad joint. My ONLY disappointment was that I wanted to buy a bottle of the Chubbie to take home for him, but one little bottle was $15! 😱 Even at $12 it would have been a little rough, but I probably would have done it. For some reason $15 just rubbed me weird. Lower the salsa price! 😆 overall beautiful place, great food, but a bit overpriced. I'll still throw 5 stars. Blessings my friends and good luck.
I've been here a few times now, and the service is way better. The people who work there are super nice and helpful. This place slowly got packed when I was here. Thankfully, I was just waiting for my order. I love the decorations here, so much to look at and occupy you while you wait. If you choose to eat outside, you are surrounded by beautiful views. This time, I tried the nachos and my usual sawed-off breakfast burrito. I really wanted to try the tacos, but I saw the chips were made to order. I was sold right away. Tri tip nachos with no beans and cilantro is where it's at. The tri tip is so tender and chips are so crunchy and addictive. What more do you need? This is a meal on it's own. We also had the bacon sawed-off breakfast burrito, such cheesy amazing goodness. I highly recommend a nap after eating here. First time going here and I wasn't too sure what to think with the mixed reviews I saw. I was concerned everyone was just talking about the salsas and not the taste of the food on its own. We had the sawed off burrito. One chorizo and one bacon and sausage. I believe those are the first items to get when getting a breakfast burrito. I am happy to say I'm not disappointed with my choice. Both burritos were flavorful on its own. It did not need any special salsa to give it a boost or a kick. Customer service could have been a little better but it's whatever. I guess the only choice you have for breakfast is a breakfast burrito 🤷♀️? The lady didn't want to explain anything else and said tacos are for the afternoon.
Pretty solid coffee place! This place was pooping off all day, so I feel like I must have gotten the wrong drink here. I got the sweet cream cold brew as wasn’t a fan, I had been expecting something sweeter. The decorations were so fun though and the employees were very kind and friendly. Would recommend trying one of their very sugary but delicious looking signature drinks!
Very cute little place just off the freeway. There’s a self ordering kiosk which is super easy to use. I ordered a latte and it was good. The only thing I didn’t like was getting a to go cup when I asked “for here” cup
I had such a great experience at Zebra House Coffee and Eatery! I ordered the Kalua pork bowl, and it was the perfect balance of healthy, flavorful, and filling. Every bite felt satisfying without being too heavy, and it’s definitely a dish I’d come back for. The atmosphere was relaxed, and the staff was incredibly friendly and welcoming, which made the visit even more enjoyable. One of the coolest features of this place is their drive-through, which is super convenient if you’re on the go. On top of that, I got a morning muffin for signing up for their text program, and let me tell you—it was incredible. I’m not usually a muffin person, but this one was so delicious it might just convert me! It was moist, flavorful, and the perfect little treat. Overall, Zebra House Coffee and Eatery offers great food, a welcoming vibe, and some thoughtful extras that make the experience stand out. I’m looking forward to coming back again soon!
It was so delicious. I got three tacos for dinner. Tri-tip, Carnitas and my favorite of all battered shrimp. Everything was so fresh and tasty. I can't wait to come back. The service was fast and friendly *update 4/22/23 Our absolute favorite place to visit when we're camping up in San Clemente. So good! *1/8/26 Still my fav spot in SC. Friendly and so good.
A fun taco/burrito restaurant that serves alcohol. There's a laid-back kind of vibe to this place. Location is right off the highway. Great views of the beach if eating in the outdoor patio. Just like an average taco place. However prices are a bit higher than expected. The steak burrito tasted good. I like how the burritos come presented grilled closed. Seems like this is a local hangout. There's some fun art in the dining area. Dining area is rather small. There's only one restroom facility (clean on my visit). I noticed foodstuff were constantly cleaning the outdoor patio and maintaining a clean environment. Parking is rather limited.
Great place to get tacos in San Clemente . The patio has a nice view with a small glimpse of the ocean, but you are really here for the food. I ordered a bunch of tacos but my favorite were the fried fish and fried shrimp. The batter is very tasty and crispy. This could be one of the most delicious shrimp tacos I have eaten. The Carne Asada was just ok but overall the food is excellent. If you are looking tacos look no further.
Stopped by to get a quick coffee... well it took 10min to get it. No one I line but the cashier and employees are too slow. The coffee was not hot enough and tasted like water. I did not try other stuff in their menu so I can't comment on those. Inside was clean and felt the atmosphere was nice. It's close to highway but for coffee I don't recommend them. Use famous brands around and be on safe side.
Found this place on Google with pretty decent reviews. I got a avocado toaster scramble eggs on top of it paid about $12. When I asked for water the lady said she will give it to me but she will make an exception which is kind of weird that they wouldn't give water to you. For $12 this is very basic. It's just one slice of bread. I Can think of a dozen better places than this so three stars is pretty fair.
The coffee shop looked really promising on Google Maps, but in reality it wasn’t that good. The coffee was worse than Starbucks — I couldn’t even drink it. The bread wasn’t fresh, super dry. We waited 25 minutes for coffee and toast. Definitely not worth coming back. The only thing I liked was the self-order machine and the comfy chairs inside. But the tables and chairs outside were super dirty and sticky.
Zebra House Coffee was a pit stop on a road trip to San Diego. We ordered the banana chocolate chip muffin (vegan & gf), an iced soy latte, and the PB banana protein shake. In total these three items set us back $24 + tip (and alternative milk costs extra, boo). Muffin: 4/5 - pretty decent muffin. Extra points for being warm and having lots of chocolate chips! Not the best ever and I can make better at home but a good treat on the road. Iced soy latte: 2/5 - strange after taste that kept getting worse as I drank it, couldn't even finish it unfortunately (and that's really saying something). Not sure what happened there. PB banana protein shake: 4/5 - the shake is made with almond milk, banana, peanut butter powder, and Organic Protein plant-based protein powder. It has a slight cinnamon-y taste. Definitely enjoyed it but it's not worth $11. Restrooms, seating inside & out, free WiFi, and ability to order via kiosk (though I found it more helpful to order at the counter to be able to ask questions). They also have a drive through with two spots for waiting. The location is convenient as it's right off I-5 but it's also nothing special. The outside seating views are mostly of a parking lot. This spot has potential with the cozy vibes inside and outside seating, but I wouldn't return again (too many other coffee shops around to check out!).
Love this little place, only drive thru coffee in san Clemente. However a little disappointed that you can’t get an iced vanilla latte with pumpkin cold foam 😂 not sure why, but they said it’s owners rule you can’t add a cold foam to your drink.
Born and raised in San Clemente, used to love this spot and would go all the time. Ate here again after having been gone a few years and was shocked to pay $50 for two burritos. Probably won’t be coming back, rip :(
07/01/25 1:46pm Ordered the Cali burrito to go and no sour cream in burrito as stated on menu board. Locals inside were delivered freshly cut burritos as mine was wrapped in paper. The most soggy burrito I've ever had at any taco shop. Female cashier recommended me the worst side salsa knows as chubbie. Tastes like sweet teriyaki sauce. Hector's extra spicy was completely bland. No flavor. 21$ no drink and no side chips.
